Is a scorched vampire hot enough to make glass?
663shellsalad
I wonder if vampire glass would have special properties, or resale value or watever.
Reply to 663shellsalad. I like this world building question. The hardest part is knowing the difference between cursed vampire glass and regular glass. Would there be Ea Nasir levels of scams?

To cremate a body you need temperatures of around 1400°C, and to make glass you need temperatures of around 1600°C, so it's actually not that far of! There will be probably some bits of glass around the vampires, so if you are careful enough to shift through the sand to get those, you can probably reheat the bits to actually make something. I just don't know if the proprieties of vampire glass can be retained after heating it up again... and it's probably cursed from the begining so I also don't know a good use for it.

Would a vampire body have the same density as a human body? Is that relevant to the temperature needed? Maybe the opposite of holy water rules apply. One bit of normal glass reduces the cursed effects. So you'll need nice pure vampire pieces to get a neat amulet to curse other people. Or maybe water it down to just give them diarrhea or something.

I presume vampires are a bit more dry then normal humans, but i don't know about the density. I think most animals have the same density, but it probably wouldn't affect heat that much... but if you pile them up in one bunch, that's certain to make a bigger/hotter fire! The cursed amulet is a pretty good idea as well! Maybe vampire glass should be used more like a gem then actuall glass. If you can make a big enough piece of it, lapidate and polish it down you probably could make some pretty hefty "vampire-soul-infused" curses. And to water it down with a bit of extra normal glass melted over the top of it would give it enough flexibility to fit anyones cursed needs! That's a pretty cool concept. It would look rly nice if the cursed glass had a blood red tint to it too, glimering on the moon and greying on the sun! Ohh! The curses would probably be weaker during the day or exposed to the sun!

Meat Jerky vampires? Well depending with what lore you go with they're either Nosferatu or a condensed Hulk. I thought they'd have thicker skins or different muscle density. I love the idea of color changing glass. Imagine seeing your little trinket turn red during the sunset and knowing you're doomed. Having the curse loose power during the day sounds like a fair trade so it's not overkill. I'd be worried people would learn to not accept glass trinkets but considering how difficult it is to lure a vampire into sand... I guess it's not expected for just anyone to have that.
