No Patreon quite yet.

The Bride of Shadows Patreon isn't ready yet, I didn't realize that a month after giving them a picture of myself and a copy of my government ID, and then them saying I was all set, they'd still do an additional review when I was actually ready to launch my Patreon. Apparently this can take as along as a week, but usually takes a couple days.

The Zealot route for Night V is edited and will be ready for early release as soon as the Patreon is up. You will have to start a new game and only the Zealot route is available right now. The Heretic Night V route will be out next week.

The Night V Zealot route is an additional 25,000 words, with two separate branches depending on whether you're aligned with The Weaver. It also has separate endings depending on which RO you have the strongest bond with. There are also breast sizes now. See? I also added the option to refuse The Weaver and...stay dead. Cause apparently the offer to not be dead was frustrating readers.

The name of the patron version is The Nightborn Edition. Right now, it is largely the same as the current build (+Zealot Night V and a few new variables, mostly hidden), but once the Patreon is live we'll be running polls for new content. Our first few polls will be regarding conception/pregnancy since that will start in Night VI. We'll nail down how we want to handle paternity in poly relationships and how random/not random we want things like gender/appearance/multiples to be. Then we'll vote on a new tendency and which tendencies you'd like to see more of. The goal is to make a version tailored to the interests and tastes of patrons, without taking content away from free players.

I've also changed Bound mode for patrons. It will now feature an MFM storyline with the option to go crazy and have an exclusive MF relationship with Valdricht. Serax TBD, I'll explain in the FAQ, no I don't love Valdricht more, there are important plot reasons for it, if you want Serax you can still have him in MFM mode or play MMF mode as the gods intended. I know that the Duskweaver Cultist won out in the poll, but MFM/MF will be much easier to integrate into the existing story at the moment. Also, you get updates earlier and you can support my goal of writing Bride of Shadows full-time.

Hopefully the review process will be quick and I'll do an official Patreon launch announcement/invitation soon. It will be much prettier and more comprehensive than this. In the meantime, I'll be working on the Heretic route for Night V. Just not tonight. I'm going to relax now.

Off-topic rant don't read unless you have nothing better to do. Sometimes a girl just has to type some feelings in a big block of text. So Bride of Shadows has gotten a ton of new players/followers this week. Idk if it was blessed by the algorithm or what. That's not the rant, I'm incredibly happy about that and insanely grateful. So today while I was trying to set up the Patreon version, I thought I could just add the Patreon edition to my regular page and password lock it. Maybe I can and I just couldn't figure it out, but that's a question to puzzle over another day. Anyway, somewhere in the process of attempting this I restricted the main game for like 30 seconds and it completely removed Bride of Shadows from the Itch algorithm. It went from getting a new follower every 15 minutes to totally disappearing from all the categories. Which sucks because we were doing so good. Like, we were almost in a warm, fuzzy sandwich between the hot succubus game and the sexy Minotaur game and that's without a new release in two weeks. I know, I still can't believe it. Anyway, I think the vanishing is only temporary and it'll creep back into the algorithm again, but I'm too tired to worry about it right now. I cried on the phone with my husband for like 5 minutes about that and Patreon and then he came home with chocolate filled caramels for me. Anyway, it's impossible to be sad while eating them, so I'm feeling much better now but I wanted to rant in a wall of text regardless. In February the big stressful thing was my old blog getting shadowbanned, and I went through this whole 24 hour emotional crisis where I thought the IF was doomed and no one would ever find it again and now this month my crisis is that it was getting tons of followers until I derped the algorithm. It's all to say, sometimes I gotta complain about things that annoy me, but I never lose sight of the bigger picture, which is that I'm writing a story I love and lots of people are enjoying it, so no matter what shenanigans befall me, I don't let it distract me. And if I do get overwhelmed, there are always chocolate filled caramels. And because you read all of this the Nightborn Edition password is "veryeasytoguess". I'll be changing the password once the Patreon launches. In the meantime, feel free to check out the new Zealot night. Flynn is a huntsman sniper. Flynn is honestly one of my more undeveloped ocs, but this is why I wanted to enter him in this contest, so I could put time into developing him more, and I've found myself liking him more and more since I've spent so much time focused on him. I think he's a pretty interesting character and I would be over the moon if he won.

Moving onto lore, Flynn didn't have a good upbringing, his uncle was the only adult in his life who wasn't mistreating him, and his uncle happens to be his biggest inspiration. When he became a legal adult, he left his abusive parents and moved in with his uncle whilst he was trying to get himself a stable job and home, eventually getting a job at Mann.Co as a sniper.

Flynn gets along with all his fellow mercs, he may have moments where he doesn't always get along, but he mostly just gets on with his day. He's closest to the team's Heavy, Dominik, who is his boyfriend. However he cannot stand the team's Spy, Asher, who he personally feels is judgemental and nit-picky towards him. When it came to why he decided to become a sniper, it all links back to his uncle, who, just like Flynn, was a sniper himself, eventually retiring so he could stay home and be near his nephew. Flynn's uncle taught him everything he knows, which inspired Flynn to pursue the same job his uncle had.

Maple Linwood/The Marksman

Marksman, or Maple Linwood, by her name you can already tell shes supposed to be like sniper, unlike him thoo, she uses a crossbow as a main weapon! (With the Karambit knife being her melee)

Traits? Shes sassy and sometime to the point person, but hey when she can shes like the mother of the group shes supposed to be a 10th class of the team, supporting sniper's job somewhat I never really tried to do these type of stuff, so I thought it'll be fun to join in! Uhm she shld win bc shes cool an allat /JOKE

Lore? Nothing much, shes just a child from a famous fashion designer, running away from home (after so much neglect from her mom)

How does she interact? Shes close to sniper (Ill give you exactly 5 sec to guess why), but she mostly have fun around them, they made her felt more welcome as a family than her mother can…, seeing Heavy as a father figure, and maybe close with Engineer (as friends) They were supposed to be like Sniper, in a way that her job was supposed to help his job easier (ending up in sniper and marksman on a rivalry, before they go and kiss eachother or smthn)

I noticed something in the Eden's Garden Killing Game rules regarding multiple blackened. There's something it seems to explicitly allow (or maybe even encourage???) that the wording of every other mainline game seems to specifically prohibit.

(This is just a theory of mine, but...)

Here's dr1's rules:

Rule #6: Anyone who kills a fellow student and becomes "blackened" will graduate, unless they are discovered.

Rule #10: If the guilty party is not exposed, they alone will graduate, and all remaining students will be executed.

Here's dr2's rules:

Rule #7: If the blackened is not exposed, the remaining students will be executed.

Rule #8: As a reward, the surviving blackened will be forgiven of their crime and allowed to leave the island.

And here's v3's rules:

Rule #4: If the blackened is not exposed, all remaining students will be executed.

Rule #5: If the blackened survives the class trial, they will graduate and re-enter the outside world.

Here's Eden's Garden's rules, for comparison.

Any student who is responsible for another Student's death is considered "Blackened". All other students are considered "Spotless".

If the majority votes goes towards a Blackened Student, then they alone will be executed, and the Killing Game will continue for all remaining Students.

If the majority votes goes towards a Spotless Student, then all Spotless Students will be executed, and the remaining Blackened will be granted release.

In all the other mainline games, it specifies that all students except the blackened will be executed. In Eden's Garden, it specifies that only spotless students will be executed. It also doesn't specify that they must "kill" a student to be considered blackened like in the dr1 rules.

I've seen people mention the 'any student responsible for another student's death and the 'they alone will be executed' in the context of "if there are multiple culprits, you can choose to execute any of them and it'll be a valid answer" and I agree with this.

But what I haven't seen anyone else mention is that…the rules seem to explicitly say that in the case of multiple culprits they all go free ("the remaining blackened" does NOT sound like one person) -as well as the fact that the wording is "responsible for a student's death" NOT "anyone who kills a fellow student" like other danganronpa games.

So…doesn't this imply that there's no upper limit on how many blackened there could be, as long as you have at least one uninvolved "spotless" person to act as a sacrificial lamb for everyone else?

Actually, I was wondering about this because Tozu's already exploited the 'granted release'/'let you go' wording to mean 'let you go OUTSIDE' not 'let you go from the killing game', so I was suspicious that even if someone successfully pulled off a murder, they might not be let go…but I felt like it'd be hard to pull off another fakeout with a very small amount of characters left. If the cast, intentionally or unintentionally, gets involved in a murder, executes the wrong person, gets off because THEY were the murderers…and then gets "released"…into a new area (that might have some history about what happened to Cara, etc)….well, that seems a lot more reasonable time to pull a "Tozu's not actually going to let them go" twist than at the very end of the game.

October Poll Results!

It's November 1st, and I was very relieved to see that we got another update! It's a small one, which is to be expected, given the announcement in the last Progress Report, but knowing that updates in general will remain monthly is still good to know!

I'll skip the teaser images to get to the Poll Results first, since they shouldn't be too surprising, if you checked them at any point. In a nearly 5:2 ratio, the option to ship Episodes 3A (Decay) and Episode 4 together has won. (An option with Nemlei interestingly calls "Poetry" several times.) Again, I expected this, even though I voted to ship Decay by itself. The most interesting part of this section to me, are the last couple sentences. In it, Nemlei seems to basically confirm that Decay is finished, or at least very close to being finished, and the majority of work will now shift onto Episode 4. I don't expect Episode 4 to take a year to make, unlike what Nemlei seems to cheekily be implying. The impression I've got to far is that it's the resolution to the story. The Climax ( ;) ) and Falling Action. It's not going to be very long, is what I mean. Nowhere near as long as Episode 3A, anyway. So, with that settled, let's check out those teaser images!

First, we see Andrew and Ashley hanging out in some strange looking lighthouse. The large eye in the middle might remind you of Six Eyes, which is very well might be, but... that eye doesn't look very demonic to me. It's got a big pupil and lashes, with a star in the middle, and the windows surrounding it are also plastered with stars, and are different shades of bright colors. Looks more... wizard-like, to me. It very well could be the same lighthouse... or a version of the same lighthouse, that we saw Ashley trying to climb as the unreachable stair taunted her, but we'll have to wait and see. More importantly... why are they here in the first place? Is it JUST a hideout?

Next image is a bit more interesting. Judging by Ashley's pose, it's possible that this is the middle, or the end, of a small argument between the two. It's the camping section again, which we've seen quite a bit of, now. Andrew saying "You bring my demons out." with that smug look has some BIG implications. Obviously, it's related to the demon world, but what specifically? Did we get a glimpse at Andrew's SOUL? Did Andrew summon a demon of his own, or is this the aftermath of Ashley bringing Andrew with her into the demon world, like she was asked? I'd say it's probably some combination of the first and third, given we don't see any evidence of a ritual here. Though they easily could've just cleaned it up. But, what could they be arguing about? Maybe the Demon's reasoning for wanting Andrew to tag along wasn't something Ashley was happy with. Or maybe she just saw something about Andrew she didn't like. Whatever it was, I reckon it'll probably have a choice for us to pick.

Lastly, we have this silly little comic. I quite like it when Andrew and Ashley are drawn like this lol. But hey, it seems that Decay will have more options than I thought! We also got a glimpse at the main conflict of this route, it seems. Andrew's morals decaying. We already got glimpses of that, given the whole murder-suicide thing going on. (Though I'd argue that would be the most noble thing Andrew would've done, even if for the wrong reasons.) But it seems we also have the ability to go deeper into the relationship between Andrew and Ashley... in more ways than one!

Ashley herself looks a little indifferent to it all. Could just be a joke for the comic, but Ashley has always shown relative indifference towards this idea... when she isn't trying to get Julia to kill herself, anyway. Knowing that we'll be having all these options puts some of the previous teaser images in a bit of a different light, and it also make me wonder what the main theme of Burial will be. I guess instead of having these options with their relationship, they'll just... bury their feelings? And depending on how successfully that goes, you get different paths.

Disventure Camp already dropped an trailer for the season and I already will make some predictions and analysis of it.

1. Okay,by this images i theorize that the carnival that the game will happen was actually abandoned but then it was buyed by the Disventure Camp staff.

If you comparate with the first image, it looks a lot prettier than what I looked like. (Or maybe I'm just saying nonsense)

2.And there's this scene. I think it's actually the start of episode 1. And judging by how it looks, it'll definitely start like the new season of TDI2023.

3. We have this scene, whose I think that it'll (obviously) have a challenge just like that one on the first season.

Oh and there's this scene

What happens on this scene is: Ted yells something for the people that are doing the challenge and everyone of his team stares at him, and more later Lucio sits far from him after saying that.

Okay I already have a headcannon that Ted will be the Ripper of this season, but he seems more smarter than what Ripper was, so I guess he'll mostly be the villain or a secondary villain. Oh, and also, my other headcannon is that Ted definitely has either a obsession or a fixation on the poker aesthetic, like... A spades shorts? Really? (Btw, look at his bod, oh my😻😻 yum😋)

3. And we have this scene where it basically shows us the teams. Judging by how the team names we're on the last seasons, the team names will surely be Blue Team and Red Team. Here are the the people that are in each team:

Team Red: Alessio, Richard, Lynda, Isabel, Natalia, Anastasia, Marissa, Ted and Logan

Team Blue: Diego, Spencer, Amelie, Benji, Jade, Ivy, Tristan, Hannah and Zaid

And my thoughts on this scene is that is either part of the challenge or the teams expending time doing things in the park together.

4. I don't even gonna say "um, I theorize" because is obvious that this 2 will get together. Woah I'm so happy and definitely give a fuck about Hurbet West's lost brother and Diego😐

5. During this trailer it had some moments of Lyndia with other people, but this one called my attention the most. The context of the scene is that Lyndia is walking with some of her teammates but Ted, who's behind a Bush, grabs her by the arm and takes her to the bush too.

I theorize that he did that to talk with her, and I'm saying this because of the look of his face that he had until taking her to the bush. I theorize that Lyndia will basically be the S2 Ally of this season, will only be there so someone can go talk to her saying to her vote on a certain person and she will go through the merge just because her team forgot about her.

6. I'm pretty sure that this challenge has something to with the fears of the participants or a "would you rather" rather challenge. That can be proven because of how Ted and Ivy reacted when Emily showed them what to do.

Hello, gentle reader! As you know, Luca and Ali are teaming up and looking for a new residence. And guess what? YOU get to choose where they live! Yes, you! There is a poll at the end of this post, so please don't forget to vote. There are six lots in my save they are able to afford. I've provided a few pics and a description of each. Whatever lot you choose, I'll redecorate it and they'll move in shortly.

One thing I'd like you all to remember as you're making your selections, this save is very sims, so I don't put the same travel restrictions on them like in The Piersons & Friends. So even though a world might seem far to you, it's not far to them.

ALSO, I keep mentioning room/no room for Alessia. Let me just mention, at this point I have no plans to move her back home. But stayovers are a thing, and I think sims can ask if they can move in now(??). So...consider her in your deliberations or not. The choice is yours.

Let's get to these houses!

1. Sketchy shoebox

If Ali would like to stay in Evergreen Harbor, he could live here. He likes that there is a 3rd bedroom in case Alessia wants to come home, but the rooms are really tiny. Also, the neighborhood can be sketchy at times.

2. Abundant apartment

This is a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment in the arts district. If you guys pick it I'll turn the fake closet in the master to an en suite. This apartment is spacious and very affordable. But Ali isn't sure about city living, and when he dies he won't have anything to leave Luca and Alessia.

3. Spacious oasis

This house is setup for two roommates and will give our guys the privacy they need. It's big enough for them to not be on top of each other, and the office could be converted into a 3rd bedroom. There's only one bathroom though. And this house sits at the top of their budget and will be a stretch. Plus Ali isn't sure he'll like the weather.

4. Copperdale cubicle

This little cottage has the nerve to have two bedrooms lol. The neighborhood is nice, quiet, and close to attractions. But those attractions can get loud.

5. Sans cons

There honestly isn't anything wrong with this property. There's more than enough room for everyone, and if Alessia doesn't come home, maybe it'll be too big for our guys. It's affordable, the neighborhood is nice and quiet, and it has a big yard. The upstairs bedrooms are too small for an adult, so I'd have to reconfigure up there to make Luca comfortable. That could inflate the cost a little but not much. It could also make it cheaper! Just depends on what I do.

6. Cute ranch

I think this house is super cute and possibly one of the best houses Maxis ever made. Even though it's small, the layout won't leave them feeling cramped. The courtyard is cute, and they still have a little yard left. But there is only one bathroom and no room for Alessia.

In case you haven't seen my previous power rankings, the Power Ranking Format is essentially a way of ranking how well each player is doing in the game. However, given that there will be no elimination this episode, we're doing something a little bit different. Instead, @venus-is-thinking and I will be discussing who we think will be rooting for who in the finale episode! There will be spoilers for last week's episode (obviously) and its power ranking, so make sure to read that first if you don't want to be spoiled on how I ranked our last boot. If you want more clarification on the rules, that first post will help you out as well. Furthermore, I'm going to be spoiling the preview for next episode, so if you want to go in TOTALLY blind, save this for later. Let's go!

Who would've thought that Grett would be the last player actually voted out of the game? Okay, I did, back when I thought that Grett would be voted out at Final 4, but not when she was voted out at Final 5! I still can't believe that it wasn't Riya.

This is another elimination I already talked a lot about in my initial thoughts, but I'm happy with when and how they chose to eliminate Connor, just unhappy about the surrounding characterization of Jake in particular. Although Connor is overall a likeable guy (barring the potential anti-union stances), from a gameplay and in-universe wealth standpoint he absolutely did not need to be in the finale. I should've counted his broken leg as more of a death flag than it was, and put him at #3 (given that it was never going to be #4).

But hey, maybe I was conditioned to believe that it wouldn't matter much after Yul also injured his foot and I talked about it for weeks for it to ultimately not matter at all! Alec, watch the fuck out for the Yellow Boy Leg Curse.

Trailer Analysis

Given that there's no elimination in this episode, I'm really just going through the trailer to point out things that I think are fun as opposed to any real game logic :D

It's very interesting that this does seem to be an in-universe filmed event. I wonder what Kristal wants from all the competitors.

Okay, actually relevantly to the ranking, could this possibly be Riya's bench? I wouldn't expect that Yul would root for Riya, given that they hate each other, but it's not like Yul liked the others. And, Riya at least didn't vote for him to go home in his boot episode. It could just be an interview about Riya, but then I don't know why Fiore would be there and Grett wouldn't.

If he's out here being fatphobic again...

Ooh, it'll be fun if they take some time to explore Grett's relationship with Ellie as well as with Gabby in a post-S1 landscape! This one goes out to the GabGreLlie(?) shippers.

Lake and Ashley being friends feels so natural. I know that Ashley has already talked about having little sisters in the past, and Lake absolutely feels like she could use a supportive older sister figure. It's like Rosa...! Again.

Another classic Alec/Tom duel. I'm assuming this has something to do with the challenge-looking thing that's going on?

This too, maybe? I'd say that Hunter was somehow helping Emily and Trevor with their plan to ruin the show, but Hunter should have no incentive to end Disventure Camp, especially when his girlfriend is in the finale.

"Power Ranking"

Following Venus' suggestion, I'm going to rank my people in terms of how confident I am in which bench they'll be on! It'll have no effect on my score-- we're scoring this round separate from the main competition, and even so it'll be a simple 1 or 0 points for if you get it right-- but it'll probably make the flow of the rankings better.

#1: Miriam - Jake's Bench

I see literally no reason why Miriam would be on the bench of anyone other than Jake. They're super close, with Miriam essentially having adopted Jake as her grandson. The only possible argument to the contrary would be if Miriam rooted for Riya in support of the Yellow Team, but Riya literally voted her out, sooo...

#2: Tess - Ally's Bench

(I know that Ally was on the Magenta Team and not the Cyan team, but Ally has an overall blue palette, so she gets blue.)

Similarly, I see no reason why Tess wouldn't root for Ally. The whole reason why she came to play again was to spend time with Ally and Hunter, and even if she didn't get to do that as much as she would've liked, she can at least show Ally her support by rooting for her in the finals.

The only path I see to Tess not rooting for Ally would be if Hunter decided that he was too mad at Ally to root for her, and Tess decided to join him in solidarity. However...

#3: Hunter - Ally's Bench

Let's be realistic. You don't say "we'll always support you 100%" or whatever Hunter and Tess said to Ally in the comeback episode and then choose to be petty and root for... Jake, I guess? When she actually makes the finals. Rooting for Jake specifically would just be fucking cruel. Double damage fr.

Also, Venus and I have been talking about potential scenarios for who the finalists might be able to choose to help them in the finale. There are pretty much four scenarios we've discussed:

Each finalist chooses one former competitor to help them, like what happened in Seasons 1 and 2.

Each finalist chooses two former competitors to help them, evocative of how this season has more competitors.

Each finalist chooses two former competitors to help them, but there has to be one from Season 1 and one from Season 2, to celebrate both seasons equally.

Everyone will be able to lend a helping hand to their finalist of choice.

In any of those scenarios, I think that Hunter will be helping Ally in the finale. He is her literal boyfriend, the person who should be closest to her, and he's really good at challenges. Tess will also likely help Ally in case of #2. That would be a nice way to pay off her finally getting to spend time with the two of them together!

#4: Tom - Jake's Bench

The only reasons why Tom isn't higher up on this list are just because 1) the other three are so obvious, and 2) Tom and Jake are still sort of in a weird zone. However, it's not like Tom has any reason to root for Ally or Riya pretty much at all. If he chose to sit on either of their benches, he could pretty much kiss any chance of a future relationship with Jake goodbye. Or, perhaps "not kiss" is more fitting to the circumstances.

I also find it pretty likely that Tom will help Jake in the finale. His greatest competitor for Jake's hand is Ashley, who's also a strong physical competitor from Season 1. However, Tom is basically a lock for Jake's bench, while Ashley still may wind up supporting Ally. Plus, I feel like the writers (and some of the fans) would love to have Tom support Jake, especially if it winds up leading Jake to a win. Regardless, I have high confidence that Tom will be rooting for Jake.

#5: Aiden - Jake's Bench

Although Aiden and Jake obviously didn't start this season on the best terms, by the end, they became really good friends. Plus, it's not like Aiden is rooting for Riya, and I can't really see why he'd root for Ally either. Especially when Ally was the one who flipped to take him out of the game.

Aiden has the most likelihood of being on Jake's finale team if Jake is forced to pick one Season 1 character and one Season 2 character, although it's possible he could even make the team in a vacuum if Ashley is on Ally's team. A Jake/Tom/Aiden teamup is possibly even more appealing than just a Jake/Tom teamup. This is the last one that I think has almost 100% chance of success.

#6: Lake - Jake's Bench

While Lake and Jake didn't interact pretty much at all in the main season, there have certainly been seeds sown to lay the groundwork for Lake supporting Jake in the end. Most importantly, she was the one advocating to Aiden that Jake deserved a second chance, citing that she saw a lot of herself in Jake. We also had Lake and Jake form a quick connection in the premiere with Jake saying that he enjoyed Lake's writing. That feels like it could have been put in there intentionally to preemptively explain why they would gravitate towards one another.

Also, with no Cyan players remaining, I wouldn't be surprised if Lake is essentially just here to support whoever Aiden chooses to support, which I expect to be Jake. As the cherry on top, she's shown hanging out with Ashley a lot in the trailer, who is very pro-Jake even if she doesn't ultimately wind up on his bench. I find this to be pretty likely.

#7: Grett - Ally's Bench

Although Gabby and Riya worked together for much of the game, I expect that Grett will still be on her "no forgiveness for Riya for voting with Yul" grind, and therefore not be on Riya's bench. And, similarly, while she did wind up working with Jake near the end of the game, she was working with Ally for longer and more closely. Both Jake and Ally wound up uniting to take Grett out, so I think that lands Grett pretty solidly in Ally's camp.

I could also see that they had Grett clarify that she held no ill will towards Ally in her elimination just to make it clear that Grett didn't feel at all betrayed by her. As one of the strongest players of the season, Grett would also make a great assistant to Ally's team, should she choose to accept it. Just watch out that you don't get out-sabotaged again this time, Grett...

#8: Gabby - Ally's Bench

Gabby is mostly here to hang out with Grett. If Grett is taking a no-Riya stance, Gabby would support her all the way. It's possible that she could wind up on Jake's bench through Tom/to support a S1 player, but... that feels like it's valuing Gabby's relationship with Tom over her relationship with Grett, which was not the moral of this season. I just have to be right that Grett would choose to support Ally!

Please let me be right that Grett would choose to support Ally.

#9: Connor - Riya's Bench

Okay, let me preface this by saying that I do NOT think that Connor has once again relapsed into his Riya simp phase to genuinely support her. I think that the twinge of pain he gets any time he moves his ankle would be enough to remind him that that's a terrible idea. I simply think that Connor will join Riya's bench for strategic purposes. There are a lot of strong reasons why sitting on Riya's bench is the optimal choice for Connor.

Number 1: choosing between whether to sit on Ally or Jake's bench could have disastrous results at this point. If he chooses to directly support one of Ally or Jake over the other, it might make it more difficult for them to work together. The safest move is to remove himself from that fight entirely, and choose Riya to NOT choose Jake or Ally.

Number 2: Seeing Connor on Riya's bench could give Riya some sort of psychic damage, whether it's Season 2 loser flashbacks or through confusion as to why Connor is "still there stanning her." You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

Number 3: This gives Connor the opportunity to be an anti-helper for Riya. If Riya's bench is mostly unoccupied, then she may be forced to select Connor as her assistant. Even beyond any deliberate sabotage he tries to throw her way, forcing her to wait while he hobbles behind on his broken leg could eat up a lot of time. It would all be deliciously karmic, especially as a bookend to Connor's arc by having him defeat Riya by deliberately screwing up her endgame, again.

#10: Ellie - Ally's Bench

Gabby is here for Grett, and Ellie is here for Gabby. I know that Ellie and Ally have had, like, negative amounts of screentime together, unless you count every time I've mixed up which name various other characters were saying. But otherwise, like, who else?

No way in hell Ellie is rooting for Jake; she's the OG Jake hater and nothing this season has changed that. I did initially think that Ellie could support Riya as a fellow villainous winner, but would she really value a member of the alliance that almost drove her and her girlfriend apart that she hardly talked to over hanging out with said girlfriend and supporting a young artist who needs the money to support her career? I think not.

Please let me be right that Grett would decide to support Ally so that I'm also right that Gabby would decide to support Ally.

#11: Alec - Riya's Bench

Given how, uh, terribly these two's relationship ended, it may come as somewhat of a surprise that I think that Alec would still "root for" Riya in the end. However, Alec and Riya just had such a connection this season that I feel like it would be wrong if he didn't wind up tied to her in the end somehow. Then again, he didn't wind up rooting for Fiore in the Season 1 finale, so maybe he will just pick, like, Jake or whatever at random.

I'm more confident that Alec would be on Riya's bench in the case that Riya needs two assistants, S1+S2 specific or not. I could totally see Alec and Connor conspiring together to be the only two assistants available to Riya, so that no matter who she chooses she's going to get someone who's actively working against her. The plan still works if she only needs one assistant, obviously, but I think it packs more of a narrative punch if Alec and Connor could do it together.

#12: Ashley - Jake's Bench

So, obviously Ashley is going to pick either Jake or Ally, and she's only this low down because it's a little tricky to figure out which one of them it is. You might be surprised to see that I ultimately decided to have her pick Jake based on the way I wrote this post, but the truth is that I wrote the post that way because initially, I also thought that I was going to have Ashley pick Ally.

That was because, under the possibility of S1+S2 helpers, I didn't really see who Ally could possibly pick up from S1 other than Ashley. However, that specific scenario is dubious enough as is, and once I realized that Grett could fill that S1 slot for Ally, Ashley felt a lot less locked down. I could also see that (in the S1+S2 situation), if Jake picks Tom really quickly, Ashley could volunteer to join Ally's team from Jake's bench, swapping sides like Rosa did to support James. (Because you can never pass on an opportunity to make Ashley Rosa.)

I just feel like, after making such a statement to Jake about being proud of him and wanting him to succeed, and after them working together in the comeback challenge, it would be really weird for her to not wind up on Jake's bench in the end. Plus, Ashley was Jake's friend first. Those are just the facts.

#13: James - Jake's Bench

Much like Ashley, James winds up this low because I can't tell whether he would root for Ally or Jake. It's not going to be Riya. Obviously.

The argument for Ally is that I feel like the writers have been... lowkey pushing that Ally and James are closer than I at least thought they were? When the Magenta team initially formed, he seemed really excited to be on the same team as Ally and Hunter, saying that the team was stacked. Also, in this greeting from about two months ago, James said that he was rooting for Aiden or Ally to win. Of course, that was from a while ago in the competition, so James' opinions might have changed. But, if he sticks to his word, he would be rooting for Ally.

However... is he really going to pass up the opportunity to sit with Aiden AND Lake just to support Ally? Notably, I do think that greeting may have been from before Aiden and Jake became friends, and I can believe James rooting for Jake much more if he's doing it through the lens of supporting Aiden's friend. I also don't know how James feels about Ally's descent into villainy. As someone who became more heroic over the course of his season, I could see James being disappointed (on the level of being a friend, not just in her "character development") in what Ally has been doing, and not want to support that behavior.

Also, we see James hanging out with Ashley, Lake, and Miriam in that one scene, who are all people who I, at least, have determined will be supporting Jake in the finale. To the extent that the former campers have already determined who they're rooting for and have sorted themselves into factions because of it, that may be an indication that James will be repping Jake.

#14: Yul - Riya's Bench

"Seriously? You're making me pair with curry girl?! Gross!" That's my Yul impression. I don't like it either, Yul, but you don't like anyone and nobody likes you. Thus, my only real lead is that Yul would want to support a villain winner, bolstered by that scene of him sitting for an interview with Connor, Alec, and Fiore.

Yul also did wind up rooting for Riya in the Final 2 of Season 2 eventually, although he initially supported... Aiden? In the Final 3? Wait, I totally forgot that Yul ever supported Aiden. You really threw your support towards our GT king, Yul? Anyways. He does have a past history of rooting for Riya, although their relationship probably got worse throughout the course of All Stars. I really don't know with Yul.

#15: Fiore - Riya's Bench

As I described to Venus, Fiore is really tricky because she has, like, a 2/5 good reason to support any one of these people in the finale.

Jake is from her season and the one she was trying to appeal to, but he's also an idiot and didn't side with her in the end. Ally was trying to protect Fiore from Hunter, at least, but they never became particularly close, and Fiore left the game throwing her under the bus. Riya is a villainous #slayqueen that was once close with Alec, but she also left Alec much worse for wear and screwed Fiore over in that one challenge to win the reward. I don't think Fiore will be particularly happy with rooting for any of these finalists.

Thus, I think that Fiore will probably just be hanging out with Alec, who I've pegged as supporting Riya. I could also see her stanning Riya as a statement about wanting villains to win, much like Yul could, and to further complain about how more people should have helped her in the Season 1 finale.

It might seem like putting Yul and Fiore on Riya's bench would ruin Connor and Alec's plans, but I don't really think it does. First of all, for Fiore at least, if she's united with Alec, Fiore might be another rotten pick for Riya. And, even if she would genuinely help Riya to win, Alec and Connor being two terrible choices for Riya's team only further forces her to work with Fiore (a child) and Yul (Yul). Those are also terrible teammates! Riya can be taken down by her own lack of a social game in either situation.

And that's everyone! Here's how I've laid out the teams, ordered in terms of how likely it is that I think they could be an assistant to whoever they're supporting (which sort of crosses over with how confident I am that they'll be there):

Jake: Tom - Ashley - Aiden - Miriam - Lake - James

Ally: Hunter - Tess - Grett - Gabby - Ellie

Riya: Connor - Alec - Yul - Fiore

I guess, in the end, the teams wound up pretty even, with one extra person for Jake and one person missing for Riya. I kinda thought that Ally would have fewer, but picking up the Grett/Gabby/Ellie trio does a lot.

This was a really fun and unique power ranking to write, so I hope you had as much fun reading it as I did writing it! I feel like DCAS has been at its best when it has the most of its characters in the episode at once, so let's hope that this is another fire episode. And, no matter what, my overall score ain't gettin' any worse!

No joke left behind

I had just begun to start my latest comeback. And I do TikToks and send them to Instagram too, but I try not to do anything on Facebook because of all the hackers and Facebook's constant desire NOT to do anything about hackers or cloned accounts. I have some content on YouTube too, but I have either been working way too many hours just to survive, so comedy wasn't possible for the 10 or so years. But I was doing good back in the day and with about 1000 followers I was on my way to making it. But I got hurt at work and the government had different plans for my life, basically to end it, but I'm not gonna get into that right now. Maybe later tho.

So I came up with an idea. I was gonna pool all my jokes, new and old, together, make a list, and get back out there. But money gets tight and Im struggling with a few injuries that caused my early retirement, so I decided to do albums. All the jokes about my son on one album (which I planned to do for a few years), then all my taxi jokes, complete with all the jokes about my gps girlfriend, Samantha (I still miss her. Every time a use my phones gps I think about her), and then all the "crazy" jokes, which basically covers everything.

But as I dove into my project I started to relive the past 12 years of my life, and I didn't realize that was gonna happen. Its depressing. You have no idea how depressing.

My plan was to go through a list that an old girlfriend made for me when I first started doing comedy. Then to go through both my phones for jokes I texted and sent, or didn't send, then go through all my emails. Then I was gonna go through my Facebook and all other social media sites for all those jokes. And of course all my TikTok and Instagram. But when I got to the Facebook it all hit me. I had deleted my first 3-4 Facebook sites, mainly because of all the hackers on Facebook and the silencing of political truth and their extreme far left agenda, but the last one I took screenshots of so I didn't lose the content. Some were jokes, some were memories. And not all the memories were good. Especially the last 11 years.

And i'm ocd so when I save something on the pc, or send a joke or another writing, i usually send it to more than 1 other source, and sometimes to 4 other sources. Then I move it and save it again so I don't lose it. Then I use it again and save it all over, and repeat what I see is a vicious cycle. Some things I had saved almost 2 dozen times and now I was reliving the last 12 years of my life almost 2 dozen times. And it was depressing.

So I came up with a better idea. I'll write a book. It'll start with all the jokes about my son in chronological order, then go to the taxi and work related jokes, most of which have never been written before, but yep I got them, then the rest of my life, which is basically what I write about because its good to write about things you know, and I know me better than anyone else I know. I've been me for over 60 years now and, well, nobody does it better. It's not easy being me, don't get it wrong. In fact its torture sometimes, but I gotta be me, nobody does it better. I got experience like I said. In fact, one time at one job, as we were leaving for union negotiations, a manager joked, "so who is gonna be you now Ed?" And I told her, "well Patty, you can give it it try, but I wouldn't suggest it, not for a minute. Its not easy. Its tough." When we got back from the union vote I asked her, "so how was it?' And she said she didn't last 5 minutes, so I said "i told you so" and we all laughed. Why THEY were laughing I cant tell you. Its not easy being me.

Then from the book I will have a guide for recording the albums, and put everything on TikTok and Instagram. With the book I can do the sitcom and the movie, then do other movies and shows and be rich and famous all for about 6-12 months before I get hit by a truck or die some other way, and become a household name like Heath Ledger or James Dean, and have people cry at my funeral like they ever knew me, and visit my grave and leave their panties, and on and on and on.

But now its time to get serious again about writing. If I make it great, if not oh well. Even now my great-great-great-great-great-great, great, great grandchildren have an inheritance from me. And Im already gonna be a cult classic at least because of my christmas song "Ghetto Hell" and as of this moment I have made a grand total of $14.24 through DistroKid for its distribution to YouTube and all the other social media and streaming services. My great-great-great-great-great-great, great, great grandchildren should be able to split at least $250 by that time. Most comedians never see earnings that high, so thank you to all my fan, and thank you to my family member, and my several other personalities. Had any of the OTHER different personalities checked out Ghetto Hell on YouTube, I would have already been at $15.00 by now, but THAT'S OK! Be that way. See if I care.

biden is still a better case scenario than trump even if he sucks, actually. voting is still important actually!

i do think ppl should still vote but like. voting is very basic stuff. and materially we have seen very little in the way of change. biden has done SOME stuff, but has also let or actively worked for rly shit stuff like deportations, work camps, war crimes, genocide.

all voting in a democrat has done has let less people to talking about the shit. biden has done a lot of the terrible shit people were on trump for, only this time a large majority of democrats have just been silent on it. and maybe a few changes too but not nearly enough for what we need, but a bunch of democrats keep telling people to shut the fuck up and stop being so pessimistic

what we need to actually have proper democracy is an overhaul of the voting system. allow prisoners to vote. abolish laws that allow blatant gerrymandering. allow multiple votes in order of preference. and knock it off with this two party only system where republicans are trying to put in a blatant fascist faux christian theocracy and democrats barely resist against it.

people would be less likely to be fucking through with the voting system here if there was more material change than "gets worse slightly less fast but everyone tries to tell you to shut up about it getting worse". like you're holding a gun to people's heads as the world melts around them and tell them "vote for a genocide supporter selling weapons for oil rights, or vote for a slightly less bad genocide supporter selling weapons for oil rights who might not make your life infinitely worse" and it is really no surprise people are fucking sick of that shit.

so like. yeah if you can vote go out and do it. i'll be doing it. but voting is like brushing your teeth. and in this case its like brushing your teeth when you have severe tooth decay and need like 5 root canals. like sure, if you just stop brushing your teeth it'll get worse faster but at this point people are throwing their toothbrushes to the wall going "can SOMEONE please just take me to the fucking dentist already?!" and i can't help but find some sympathy in it. because at the end of the day you can keep brushing your teeth and delaying it all you want, but eventually they will rot out of your skull and you need to go to the ER to get them all ripped out before you get a brain infection.
