character development questions!

in terms of having betrayed her trust, there is not many people that come to yeonhee's mind. in fact, she thinks she's one of the lucky few who has mostly had friendships that didn't have any major conflicts that involved her. while some may assume it may be because she's a doormat, it can be argued that she just... simply knows how to mind her own business.

that being said, if she were to name anyone who she didn't trust at the moment, it would most definitely be her parents. after their continuous disapproval of what she wanted her future to be, she holds herself back from telling them anything and everything that is personal concerning her life. in fact, if she had the option to, she'd simply distance herself from her family completely... except maybe for changwoo. she'll talk to him from time to time just to catch up for twin union sake.

buried truths

treasure hunting with jiyeon ( @mccnprsm )

staying a few months in this town made him remember why he wanted to leave in the first place. every day he spent reliving the memories he thought he left behind. the nights of counting loose change in hopes that it’d be enough for a trip out, days where he hoped he was more for his mother, and then her. he wanted to forget her so bad, which is partially sieon was reluctant to return in the first place. sieon didn’t want to see her again, but somehow he always found his way back to her.

he didn’t want to admit that he needed her either, but this time there was no one else he could ask for help. years ago the two made this stupid time capsule together in hopes that, years into their relationship, they would open in and be able to cherish the start of their blooming romance. what a great idea that was. little did sieon know that jiyeon would leave his life the minute things got serious. it hurt to know that all his love ever was to her was temporary, but alas, the past was in the past. for all sieon cared jiyeon could dig up the box and light it on fire; however, first there was something of his that he needed.

it was stupid of him to put his first ever check in a box buried in the ground, but sieon was young, stupid, and ‘wanted his wealth to grow’. although, sieon was partly grateful for his past self for saving the money in the first place. living his life in the same old town was something sieon couldn’t see for himself anymore. he loved his mother, and of course the town, but what he didn’t want his life to be was some boring routine. so again, despite his recent return, sieon searched for a way out. yet, once again what sieon wanted didn’t match up with his budget, hence the search for the check. the money, even if it wasn’t much, could go towards sieon’s one-way ticket out of this town forever.

too bad he couldn’t remember where it was. 

personally, sieon was expecting their treasure hunt to be quick and painless, but, here he was, squinting at a poorly drawn map like an idiot. “i think it should be here?” the librarian scratched his head, “if not i guess we can check behind the school . . . the layout looks similar to it.” before he could get too ahead of himself, sieon grabbed a shovel and began to dig the soil under a tall maple tree. though, oddly enough, he couldn’t help but realize that jiyeon was not putting in as much labor as he was. “excuse me, miss han? i thought this was a group effort.”

that was indeed a good question that yeonhee herself wasn't sure if she had the proper response for. because in her honest opinion, she really couldn't wrap her head around the fact that the other was still single. with someone as charming, talented, and attractive as him, she assumed he'd have a whole bunch of girls who have been swooned by him. it's typical for her to fall for boys who are way out of her league. at this point, a part of her just tells her accept to accept her fate of never having the love being reciprocated.

she hums in thought. "i'm not sure. i'm surprised myself why you're still single," she answers with a little chuckle. "you're really funny and sweet. you're talented and good-looking... shouldn't that be a bonus in a lot of people's books?" she shrugs. "though, perhaps maybe it is not the person who is looking for you, but you yourself. perhaps you are at that stage in life where you want to take things easy and find love through natural means. maybe the world is planning for you to meet your soulmate soon and they're sending you signs to wait a little longer. so, i'd say to not lose hope too easily!"

she doesn't want to get her hopes up and tell him that she might be the one he's looking for. HA! like he'd believe her, let alone feel the same for her.
