Kurosawa's brows were drawn together, the crease between them deep and serious. He could imagine him making a similar expression while using a red pen to underline important words in a document. Iwai shrugged in response to the allegation, and folded his hands over his stomach with fingers entwined. From within the shadow of the brim of his hat his gray eyes twinkled as if promising a fun secret. "Really? What day was this? And what time? What did they look like?" he swung his legs off the table and leaned in with a smile. "It sounds exciting. You'll have to tell me more."

MILITARY-SHOP-UNTOUCHABLE:

“You are very kind, Omawari-san,” Iwai agreed, raising one eyebrow. He hadn’t expected the man to be so accommodating, even though his boots were about two inches away from the detective’s entwined hands. The effect of Kurosawa’s severe gaze was offset by a distinctive accent, and Iwai found himself listening more to his fascinating voice rather than actually hearing what he was saying.

“Well, it might be because I’m getting a little embarrassed. Being graced with compliments by a gentleman like you in such an intimate setting,” he responded with a brief and definitely insincere smile. “Now, what was it that I was here for?”

Iwai remained calm regardless of the situation in, yet there was slight annoyance within the detective as time moved on slowly. The boots in his face coupled with the sudden nickname..Kurosawa couldn’t help but be annoyed. It seems Iwai was listening to his accent more than what he was saying (he could at least gather that much about his gaze).

❝Embarrassed..? I can at least understand you bein’ like that after a compliment is suddenly sprung onto you.❞

A soft sigh, mind fully returning to the task at hand.

❝I received an Anonymous call sayin’ that while they were at YOUR store, they saw members of the Yakuza enter.. Is this true?❞

Being able to blend in as a foreigner helped conceal him, especially after getting a haircut and such looking like a brand new man followed by the shining white teeth forming into a fashing smile.
