ooo tell us abt the proposal jil its 2 am pls read us a little bedtime story u.u 💤
AAAUOOOO 😭😭 how dare you hide under the anon mask sniffles... ill get u... WEEEHGJH PIPIPI you got me so passionate here in writing it ALMOST could be considered a little fic rnnnn 🤧🤧🤧🤧 I'M ANGRY AND EMBARRYYYY AAAUUUWA MWA
so there would be a day - of course where steven just knew - he wanted to be with her, for as long as he can. he wanted to propose to her, but how should he go about that?
he doesnt want to be obvious - because she's pretty good at noticing him when he's trying to do something special for her. hes such a loverboy what can we do smhsmh if he suddenly took her to a restaurant with no context other than just "treating you with nice food because yes" but it was actually her birthday then she KNOWS there's something up and it can ruin the surprise (at least for him. he would be ruined if she knew instantly AHHSJFAJFASJF). so whats the best way to go about this proposal idea? he has to surprise her, somehow...
so at nighttime, at sla.teport, where all the crowds at the marketplace dispersed, nothing but the windy night and the ocean waves crashing on the shoreline. steven waited for jaide by the lighthouse, the farthest from the city, and closest to the ocean. he was minutes early than the agreed time. no gentleman leaves his wife sweetheart hanging, now does he? he had the ring box in his suit pocket. he was nervous, constantly rubbing his finger against the cold metal ring he wore.
well fortunately, he would learn about a nice meteor shower coming up, and it just so happens to be in s.lateport city, the very place where they met. he's seen meteor showers before, but she never did. he always wanted her to see one, and this is the perfect opportunity - the perfect distraction, even. so one day, he'd excitedly tell her that a meteor shower is upon them in a few days, and was hoping if she was available to come along to share the view with him. now, jaide obviously could not turn this offer down because she always wanted to see one based on how much he praised the beauty of it, and she cant turn down a once in a lifetime opportunity, no? it would also break his rock loving heart if she declined...
"if she says yes, one of these rings will be retired soon," he would tell himself... he sure was confident. there was definitely no plan b here.
so of course she would come, maybe a minute or two later, but he was happy to see her regardless. the skies were still pitch black, no sign of glitter yet. best to talk to kill some time.
he would begin to express how time seem to fly so fast since he met her, because everyday was a new opportunity to do something with her. then again, he always thought about her even since they were kids, wondered how she was doing since that faithful encounter. he never knew he'd even begin to fall for her when they just wanted to rekindle that friendship. jaide herself never saw herself to be in a relationship with anyone, she was happy all by herself, but steven struck a cord in her that made her think twice about just being by herself - he was more than just a friend. he was someone she knew understood her well - someone she could probably see spending the rest of her life together with ... but thats enough of sentimentality.
suddenly, a little sparkle in the sky and more followed after. the skies twinkled beautifully, and jaide was amazed. her eyes could not be separated from the view - perfect.
steven not only got her distracted, but boy was she the prettiest thing. he could stare at the skies too, but nothing can compare to the look on her face, so innocent, so charming. he allowed her to watch in silence, until it was over.
"i beg to differ" a challenging statement coming from the man. this made her turn her head to him in confusion - there, her eyes widened.
"i'm glad to have shared this time with you" she says, still looking up. "this is possibly the prettiest thing i'll ever see in awhile, steven." she has no idea, she was too immersed in the sightseeing.
and there he was, one knee down - arm slightly outstretched. a box on his hand - a diamond ring inside. it sparkled wonderfully, full of purity and shine
"steven? you--"
he chuckles again,
he's actually quite prepared for this for awhile now. he bought that ring AGES ago. his father threw every ring design at his direction when possible, he literally asked for jaide's mom's blessings without jaide knowing he was in new ba.rk town and heck, though a little rebellious at the idea, he even got gold's approval - that protective little brother of hers. he had everything, but not the time. but it all ends today,
the times he's been itching about wanting to ask her to be his, and his only. everytime he'd look at her, there's that nice feeling of warmth and happiness deep inside him - because he knows, she's changed him before they even realized it. the moment he recognized her from the crowd, he knew he had to talk to her again and boy is he glad he's done that. and as if she wasnt remarkable back then, she's just as charming as the present - independent, smart, and even considerate for his well being - she never knew he was someone of rich status and always saw him as an equal. it was nothing but a breath of fresh air whenever he talked to her and he only fell harder for her. a lot of people he comes across wanted him for some other reason aside from his actual self and he's been through enough to be distant from those kind of people. but jaide, jaide was different - and that's what made her so charming to him that he wanted to win her attention. but now, he asks with full certainty and will in his voice
"for so long have i chosen to walk as a lone man - concerned for his passion and interests - i've had people to be there for me, but none stuck as long as you, even if time separated us, we still found each other - and our friendship only bloomed harder than ever. it was at that point where i realize that - i want you to partake in the next chapter of my life."
and of course, she said yes ♡

#I CANT BELIEVE UUUU I GOT TO WRITE THIS OUT OMGGG 😭😭😭😭#yes. this was heavily inspired by the pokemas meteor shower event‼️‼️‼️‼️#im gonna cry in the corner now ueeueu so sorry yall 😔😔😔😔#~ rambling#💚 memoryshipping#~ loreposting

Fizzwhiffles
For Kidgemas 2020. The prompt for December 31 is “Resolutions”.
Summary: Pidge and Hunk devise a way to tell what day it is back on Earth and discover that New Years is rapidly approaching. While there is something sad about how long they've been away from home, they still want to celebrate. All they need are some fireworks.
Also posted on AO3 under the username “kishirokitsune”.
And with this fic, Kidgemas 2020 is over! It’s been a blast writing these and I want to thank @s1lverpaladin, @incorrect-kidge-quotes, and @9-ball for putting this mini event together!
❄ - ❄ - ❄ - ❄
Finding out that there were only three days until New Years back on Earth sent the residents of the Castle of Lions into a flurry of activity to try and prepare. Everyone had a different idea of how to celebrate and what kinds of foods and decorations they should do, but the one thing they could all agree on was that there needed to be fireworks. There was only one problem.
“Fireworks?” Allura asked, her expression puzzled. “What is that?”
Lance gave his best attempt to explain, with plenty of sound effects and wild waving of his arms, but it cleared up exactly nothing for Allura and Coran, who continued to look confused the longer Lance went on.
“Sounds exciting!” Coran said once Lance stopped moving around. “How do you make these fireworks?”
Lance shrugged. “I dunno. Gunpowder or something. Hey, Pidge, how do we make fireworks?”
Pidge looked up from her laptop, where she and Hunk were refining their calculations so they could get as accurate of a countdown as possible. “Don't ask me. I'm more of a coding and mathematics kind of girl. Mom and Matt are the science people.”
“Well, Matt isn't exactly here for me to ask,” Lance retorted. He put his hands on his hips and turned to Shiro for extra help, but their leader only shrugged.
“I think you're right about the gunpowder,” Shiro said, but he sounded unsure.
Coran and Allura asked a few more questions, trying to clarify what “gunpowder” was and how it related to fireworks, as apparently neither word had an accurate Altean translation. The others bounced around a few suggestions about visiting some of their allied planets and seeing if they had anything similar, and it was as Pidge was arguing in favor of visiting Olkarion that Keith returned from a meeting with Kolivan and the rest of the Blade of Marmora.
He paused in the entrance to the bridge and cast a curious look at Pidge, who had passed her laptop over to Hunk in favor of continuing her spirited conversation with Lance about why the Olkari would be the best to help them.
Keith frowned as he started to put the pieces together. “Why are you trying to make explosives?”
“Not explosives. Fireworks!” Lance exclaimed.
“Hunk and I calculated the date and it's nearly New Year's,” Pidge explained. “Hunk's going to put together a menu, Lance, Coran, and Allura are in charge of decorations, and I'm supposed to pick the perfect planet for us to celebrate on. Shiro's still figuring out what he wants to do.”
“Security.”
“Something relating to celebrating.”
There was something close to a pout on Shiro's face and it almost had Keith snort with laughter, but he composed himself and looked away from his friend. Keith caught Pidge's eyes and she grinned back at him.
“I don't suppose you know how fireworks are made?” Lance asked, his tone one of resignation.
“Well, yeah. It's potassium nitrate, sulfur, and carbon. Specifically, it's carbon in the form of charcoal. And then there are a few metals that give it color,” Keith replied easily. “There's more to it than that, but if you're looking for the basic chemical make-up, then that's it.”
Lance gaped at him.
Coran looked delighted by the information. “Oh, so they're like fizzwhiffles! Why didn't you just say so! We could whip up a couple of those in no time!”
“But – wait, that's it? Keith names some chemical elements and suddenly you know what it is?” Lance asked incredulously.
“But of course! There's only one thing we use potassium nitrate, sulfur, and carbon for back on Altea and that's the celebrate Burning Meteor Day!” Coran said, sounding far too pleased with the opportunity to explain more about Altean culture. “Long, long ago, before Alteans built the particle technology we used to protect our cities, the only way to prevent the destruction of our homes was to destroy the meteors that fell from the sky! Once the barriers were in place, our ancestors scaled back the size of our weapons to create fizzwhiffles.”
“I always loved the festival,” Allura said with a soft sigh.
As Coran and Allura began to reminisce about their home planet, Keith joined Hunk and Pidge along the far wall, settling down next to Pidge.
“How do you know so much about fireworks?” Pidge asked.
“Science was always interesting to me,” Keith said with a shrug. “And my dad was a firefighter. He and his department experimented with using explosives to put out fires out in the desert on weekends and he'd invite me along. It was fun.”
Pidge laughed softly as she scooted a little closer and laid her head on his shoulder. “That does sound like fun. Did it work? Using the explosives to fight fires?”
“Well, yeah. Pretty well, actually,” Keith said.
They relaxed for a few minutes, listening to their friends talk and compare the two holidays to see if there were any Burning Meteor Day traditions they could incorporate with New Years.
And then a thought struck Pidge.
A minor detail that hadn't been addressed.
“We'll need to come up with resolutions for the New Year as well,” she mentioned. “And it can't be 'defeating Zarkon and his forces', because that one is a given. It should be something personal.”
“Why do I feel like you're specifically talking to me?” Keith asked.
“Because I am specifically talking to you,” Pidge said cheekily.
Keith laughed softly and wrapped one arm around her waist. “Well, you're in luck, because that's not what I plan on making my resolution for the New Year.”
“Want to share?”
Keith hummed, drawing the moment out before he finally whispered to her what it was: “Spending more time with you.”

The Virtuoso - 4. Meteor City IV
Masterlist
Previous / Next
A/N I'm sorry guys, the ending of this chapter kicked my fucking ass. I've been sitting on it being almost done forever.
After the troupe left, I started composing a song for them. I wasn't sure why. It wasn't like I was going to be able to play it for them but...it provided me with some peace. It reminded me of them. It wasn't just them that playing my violin reminded me of, though.
Every time I looked at it I remembered my grandfather. My mother, my father...my brothers. It made me want to tear it apart.
I wouldn't, though. My father always told me I was a sentimental fool, and he was right.
The music it made was nice, at least.
Inspiration had struck me in the middle of the street and I was working on a random stanza. Eventually I was going to have to put all of these parts together, but for now I just kept coming up with more pieces. I couldn't help but wonder if they would ever fit together.
I was interrupted by a familiar face. I couldn't quite place it at first, though.
"Give me your violin!" She demanded, standing in a threatening manner.
I stared at her blankly.
"Now, or- or I'll kill you!" She continued.
Oh, that's right. Zara. The girl I made lead me into the part of the city that people actually lived in.
"Why?" I asked. I was still positioned to play as if her presence made no difference to me. It didn't really.
"I'm- I'm gonna sell it!" Zara yelled. The woman was practically shaking. How tedious.
I tilted my head to the side. "To who?"
"Um-"
"Nobody here would ever buy this. Nobody can play it." I paused. "Why do you want it?"
Zara faltered, lowering her fists and looking at the ground. "Y-your music is beautiful. I thought that...maybe I could make it."
It remained silent. She was still trembling. She probably thought I was going to kill her. I was considering it. She did threaten me, after all...
"Would you like me to teach you?" I offered, surprising even myself.
-
-
-
After that, more and more people began approaching me asking for lessons. They started trading with me for them.
It was almost like I was an actual musician holding classes. After a while, people started trading violins to people. I assumed they bought them with whatever money they made working for the mafia.
I saw the mafia often. Well, their runners. It was strange how many jobs they were doing recently. They'd come to me a few times to ask me to handle a job for them. I obviously could never complete them, but I could at least point them in the direction of somebody who could. After the fourth time of me doing that, they started to come to me first. They even payed me. Jenny was no good to me, so I gave them a list of things that would work as payment.
I couldn't wait to discuss my new books with Chr-
Oh.
Right.
-
-
-
I was in the middle of teaching a class when I felt a familiar presence. It had been two months since I had last felt it. I almost dropped my violin I whipped around so fast-
"Chrollo?"
"I hadn't even said hello yet." Chrollo said, seemingly amused by my quick response to his presence. "What's this?"
My class was unnerved, but seemed to trust me to protect them from the former resident. "I'm teaching them to play the violin."
"How domestic."
I pursed my lips, trying to hide how truly pleased I was to see him. "I have to do something while you're not here." I then turned to face my class. "An old friend of mine is visiting. Class is over for today. Your next lesson will be free. I apologize."
They grumbled a bit, but they knew better than to kick up a fuss. When they were gone I turned to face Chrollo.
He was still smiling. "I brought you some books and sheet music."
I wasn't quite sure what to say to him, and I think he could sense that.
"I also brought food."
And those were the magic words. "What food did you bring? Is it cake? Cookies? Pasta?" I asked, advancing on him quickly.
His smile seemed to grow warmer at this. "You'll have to find out."
I narrowed my eyes. "Let's eat now."
"So impatient."
"Come on!" I demanded, grabbing him by his free arm and dragging him with me. When we got to my "residence" I paused for a brief moment.
"I-" I started, staring at the ground for a moment.
"Yes?"
I shook my head before dragging him inside. "I'm gonna have to read the books before you leave. So we can discuss them."
I didn't think you'd come back.
-
-
-
I was less sad when Chrollo left again. After all, this time I knew he'd be back. All of them would be back. They had no reason to, but they would. Just to visit me.
How strange.
The song that I had been composing with them in mind was so much easier now. I could hear how the puzzle fit together. It all started making sense to me. It had to be perfect, though. I couldn't count the amount of times that I had scrapped an entire section. Chrollo had given me a notebook that I was using to write it all down. I couldn't risk losing any of what I had already come up with. Maybe one day I would play it for them all. I knew Paku at least would like to hear it.
Time kept passing me by. Members of the troupe visited from time to time, usually by themselves. Sometimes they visited in pairs, but never all at once. That was fine with me.
Any time they got a new member somebody came to introduce them to me. Apparently Chrollo wanted there to be a total of thirteen members. I wasn't really sure why. (I mean, I had an idea, but he had never actually told me.) It kind of stung that I couldn't be a member, but I understood why. What use could I be to them if I couldn't leave the city?
Still, they clearly cared about me, and that was all I really needed.
Meteor City was starting to feel more like home. My thoughts didn't turn to Zoldyck Manor nearly as often as they used to. The people here were all fond of me. Or at the very least they knew better than to outwardly express their distaste of me.
I didn't "take care of people's problems" as often as I used to, since I was so busy with my classes, but I was still willing. Not to mention I had begun to serve as a liaison for the mafia. Honestly, aside from the complete and utter lack of modern amenities, Meteor City was quite comfortable.
I did miss having a chef, though. I still couldn't quite grasp the concept of cooking. Nobody had ever explained it to me. And it wasn't like I had an abundance of seasoning here.
....I missed good food so much.
-
-
-
Apparently the Troupe had gotten pretty busy as of late, trying to establish themselves in the greater world. They didn't have the time to visit me like they used to. It was okay though, I knew they hadn't forgotten about me. They still sent me messages from time to time, so I at least knew that they were thinking of me.
I tried not to think about how much I wanted to join them in whatever it was they were up to. That line of thought was dangerous. It might make me do something reckless.
I was laying on my pathetic mattress staring at a scarf that Paku had gotten me. It wasn't the actual scarf, it was a copy that I had conjured up. It had been quite some time since she had visited me. I missed her. I really wanted to see her again.
I closed my eyes, sighing heavily. Suddenly, it felt like I was falling, which was impossible.
My eyes shot open and I was standing in an unfamiliar bedroom. It was opulently decorated.
"What the fuck?" I muttered, looking around before I spotted a familiar face.
"Paku?" I questioned. She didn't look at me. She was currently cooking.
"Paku!" I tried again. Still no answer. "Pukunoda!" I exclaimed. It seemed she finally heard me as she whipped around to face me. Her gun was already drawn. She lowered it upon recognizing me, a perplexed expression on her face.
"Ivela? How did you get here?" She asked.
I looked around. "I have no idea. I was just holding the scarf you gave me and thinking about seeing you and then I was here." I shrugged at her. I had no real explanation.
Paku paused before nodding. "Ah. It must be your specialist ability."
"I'm not a specialist." I stated, raising an eyebrow at her.
She furrowed her eyebrows at me. "But you are."
That is not what my parents told me. "I must have developed a specialist ability, I guess." I was a conjurer.
"...I suppose." She said, seemingly unconvinced. "You'll have to figure out its limitations yourself."
I nodded. "I wouldn't expect you to have any insight."
I stayed and talked with her for a long while, quickly discovering that it didn't seem to have any kind of time restraint. That was good to know.
I figured out that going back was done much the same way as getting here.
I spent a lot of time figuring out my ability, which I decided not to give a name to. It seemed to tie into my conjuration ability quite nicely. I figured I'd just call it a part of "Gift Box."
In my defense I named my ability when I was young.
I found that I had to have been given a gift from somebody in order to visit with them, and I had to have chosen to use that particular gift within my Gift Box ability.
All of my Gift Box restrictions applied. When I was visiting someone, they couldn't see or feel me until I said their name. Their first or last name would suffice, I discovered, but it couldn't be a nickname.
Only they could see or feel me when I was visiting them. And I couldn't attack them, just the same as they couldn't attack me. I hadn't quite tested the theory on how my ability differentiated between an attack and innocent touching. That required further experimentation.
It was nice, actually. I could still see everyone without ever having to leave.
I could even see Killua.
He thought I was an imaginary friend.
I even checked up on my parents and grandfather from time to time. They seemed to be doing well, but I wasn't expecting them to be suffering. I was always careful to never make them aware of my presence, however. They didn't need to know what I was capable of. My luck they'd forbid it.
The time between the visits from the troupe grew ever larger, but it didn't really matter since I could visit whenever I wanted! I saw them all the time! It wasn't quite the same as seeing them in person, though. Apparently I felt different to them. Every time I visited Uvo he would throw something at my head. It would always just sail harmlessly through me. It was usually a can of beer.
He always looked so disappointed that I hadn't caught it. I think he was upset because now he couldn't drink the beer. (Cause it was all shaken up.)
The last time he visited the city he brought a keg.
That was a good time.
I barely thought of returning to Zoldyck Manor anymore.
-
-
-
It was almost like no time at all had passed before it was the second anniversary of my arrival to Meteor City. It was strange. This place was supposed to be a punishment, but it felt like anything but.
Which, admittedly, didn't make me feel as good as it should.
It wasn't like I had been falsely accused. I deserved to be punished.
I shook those thoughts away. It was better not to focus on them. The present was so much more pleasant than the past.
I hadn't been expecting it, but...the entire troupe came to visit me. I couldn't quite figure out why. It seemed like a strange thing to do.
I appreciated it, though.
Everyone around me was talking and laughing. I didn't know what about. Try as I might, I couldn't pay attention. I was too busy wishing it could be like this all the time.
I was too busy wondering what it would be like to really be a part of the Phantom Troupe.
I was too caught up in the realization that sitting here with all of them felt right in a way being with my actually family had never.
"When is your birthday, Ivela?"
I blinked. Chrollo was looking at me expectantly. Actually, they all were. I assume they had been talking about birthdays before and I realized they had no idea when mine was.
I made a split second decision.
"Today, actually. July 8th." The day I came to Meteor City. I didn't know why, but the day I was born a Zoldyck didn't feel like the right answer anymore.
The troupe were immediately in an uproar.
"Why didn't you tell us?!"
That seemed to be a sentiment shared by them all.
"Sorry, sorry." I said sheepishly.
"It's just a good thing we had a gift for you anyway!" Uvo exclaimed.
I narrowed my eyes. "Gift?"
"Hey! You weren't supposed to tell her that yet!" Nobu yelled.
"Uvo!" Chrollo said harshly.
The others also admonished him.
"We were gonna give it to her anyway!" Uvo defended.
Paku sighed. "The plan was to give it to her when we left. But I suppose now we don't have a choice."
I was beginning to think they liked giving me gifts because they felt bad for me, being cooped up here. That didn't bother me as much as it should have, though. Maybe people should feel a little bad for me. I have to bathe in a dirty river.
"I'm waiting with bated breath." I said blankly.
"We're gonna wipe that look off your face." Machi vowed. "Close your eyes."
I did as requested. If it isn't food I'm gonna be pissed-
I almost snickered at my own joke.
A moment later, I was told to open my eyes. Chrollo was standing in front of me holding a violin. At first glance it was nothing special. I was confused. I already had a violin, I didn't need-
Wait.
My eyes widened as I carefully took the violin from him. It was a Strandivari Violin.
Back when the world was my oyster, (so long as I obeyed,) I had taken a particular interest in valuable violins, for obvious reasons. This one in particular was...
Insane.
I looked at Chrollo with my eyes wide, and turned my gaze to the other members. They were all staring at me.
This was literally the most valuable violin in the world. This violin was...perfection.
I couldn't believe they'd stolen this for me.
Whenever my family had given me gifts, they'd always been practical. Any gifts that weren't murder related weren't gifts at all. They were rewards.
A dagger. A bottle of poison. A blade hidden within a bracelet.
Nothing they ever gave me was to create. Every 'gift' I received from them was a tool meant to help me do whatever they wanted me to. Nothing was ever chosen just because I might like it.
In contrast, the troupe had always brought me things that made them think of me. They brought me books. They brought me food, sheet music, scarves, clothes. Things to make me more comfortable.
Things to make me happy.
Things to make me smile.
"Ivela?" I heard Chrollo ask.
I blinked, registering that my eyes had started to well up. I blinked rapidly, trying to clear my eyes.
"Do you like it?" He asked softly.
I stepped back and regarded the whole troupe, as opposed to just Chrollo.
They were all staring at me.
I stared back blankly, before I smiled warmly. "I love it."
The uproar was immediate.
"What a pretty smile!" (I still hate Shalnark.)
"Ivela can smile?!?!"
"I DIDN'T THINK SHE COULD!!"
"You guys haven't seen her smile?" That one was Chrollo.
"You have??!?!?!"
I just kept smiling at the chaos I had caused, waiting for it to settle down. If anything, my smile was only growing wider.
I adored these people.
I snickered as the chaos only grew. They were being completely ridiculous. It was just a smile.
I pursed my lips and turned away from the Troupe. They quieted down immediately as I positioned my new violin on my shoulder.
"So. Do you guys want to hear a song?"
I didn't wait for a response, instead choosing to force them to listen to me play the song I'd written for them.
8 years passed mostly uneventfully.
After that first birthday celebration, the trend of me seeing the troupe in person less and less continued, although they all came for my birthday every year. Or...they did. Before my father came. Before he killed a member on my birthday.
(To be fair, he was unaware that it was my birthday. But still. To hell with him.)
I liked the girl he killed. She was kind.
He and Chrollo fought. My father didn't stick around to finish the fight. Of course he didn't. Chrollo wasn't his target.
I couldn't do anything. I couldn't even let my father see me.
After that, it was decided that the Troupe having a regular day where they're all in one place was a bad idea, even if it was only once a year.
I still saw them, but those get-togethers that I had so cherished were long gone. I started to get a little scrappy with everyone that I could. I had to be the strongest Zoldyck. At least for now. My training regimen was intense.
I met many people over the years, although only two of them were particularly memorable. They all inevitably left or died any way. Aside from those two, the only people I bothered to remember were my violin students.
I remembered a girl that I trained. She grew to be quite strong. So strong that when a butler from the Zoldyck estate came looking for a new apprentice, I sent her off with them.
Cruel, perhaps, but it was what she wanted. Besides, the family never did much to the butlers. They wouldn't treat her the way they'd treated me. She'd be fine.
The other....well. Ging was...well. Um. Hm.
He wasn't someone I liked to think about.
Some of my violin students managed to get out of Meteor City and make something of themselves.
Or at least I hoped they had. I only really knew that they had left to go join an orchestra or something. I try not to think about them either.
No, I have to stay focused. I have to keep running towards my goal.
I'm going to get out of Meteor City.
A/N
Okay guys once again I am so sorry. That birthday scene was something I had a very specific plan in mind for, and executing that was a struggle. (I'm pretty happy with it.) Plus I'm doing the school thing again, so...that isn't helping with writing time. But I'm not going on another insane hiatus! I promise.
Anyway, here we are! Next chapter we start the real story. Only took 5 chapters to get there, counting the prologue. Hope you guys liked the Meteor City Arc! IT WAS A LOT
Also, Ivela's violin is based (obviously) off of Stradivarius Violins. Her's in particular would be this world's equivalent of the Messiah Stradivarius. That's right guys the Troupe went all out.
They said "If we're stealing Ivela a violin, it's gonna be a VIOLIN."

I wish you would write a Fic where Sissel saves Lewis.
I did not know I needed this in my life
**MAJOR SPOILERS FOR THE END OF GHOST TRICK***
Lynne pulled up in front of the cave. “This is the place.”
The small kitten in the passenger’s seat blinked lazily at her, flicking his tail. This is certainly an ominous looking place. Sissel’s familiar voice echoed in her mind.
“Yep,” Lynne said brightly. “The ambulance took a girl in shock and guy missing an arm earlier tonight. There’s a third person who’s missing.”
And you want to go in by yourself?
“Well, the third kid might be dead. And if I waited for backup they might object to me bringing a cat into a potential crime scene.”
Fair Sissel stretched and jumped on her shoulder. If this ended in a fatal accident for Lynne, well. It wouldn’t be the first time. Or the fifteenth.
“This cave feels just like a horror movie. Like something spooky is about to happen.”
Please don’t tempt fate Sissel pleaded. You know it doesn’t like you
“I don’t know, I got to meet you, after all.” She reached up and scratched Sissel behind the ears.
He purred loudly, leaning heavily into her hand. That is true. All levity left them though, as they turned the corner and saw what they assumed to be the body of the third member of the group impaled on a stalagmite.
Lynne’s hand flew to her mouth. She’d seen a number of deaths and died a fair few times herself, but this was just gruesome.
“You’re going to fix this, Sissel, right?” Lynne’s normal exuberance has dissipated.
Of course, that’s why I’m here. Sissel jumped down from her shoulder and tried to make it to the body without stepping in the blood. Well, at least when he was done he’ll never have had any blood to step in in the first pace.
Sissel switched his perspective to the ghost world. Yikes There was a familiar energy radiating from Lewis and several more cores in the cave walls and on the stalagmites than there should have been. Was there another Temsik meteor? Maybe this cave system was formed by such a meteor crashing into the mountain?
A problem for later. Right now he had to save this guy. Sissel reached his soul outside his body and into the dead guy’s.
“ARRRRRRRTTTHHHHHHUR!”
Sissel flinched at the bellow. This ghost was certainly awake already. “Keep it down would you.”
“Wait, who’s there?” The purple man started. “A kitten? You can talk like Mystery?”
“I don’t know who Mystery is, but I can’t really talk. I can project my thoughts into people who have died.” he explained.
“Died…I’m dead… He killed me…” Rage seemed to overflow the ghost. “Arthur, you piece of shit, when I get my hands on you-!”
“Easy there big guy. Let’s work on fixing this first.”
“What’s there to fix!” the purple guy demanded. “I’m dead. You can’t fix that.”
“You can’t, but I can. You see, certain people are gifted with certain powers in death. Mine is the ability to go back in time four minutes and try to change the course of fate.”
“You…you really can do that?”
“Watch me.” Sissel concentrated and felt time beginning to rewind. The body, the cave, the green hand that was about to grab Lynne, all of it dissolved into the past.
~
The van pulled up to the cave entrance. “We’re here!” a girl in blue proclaimed, jumping out of the passenger door with a small dog on her heels.
Vivi his guest said wistfully.
“Lewis, Arthur are you coming?”
“Calm down Vivi.” The living version of his tagalong laughed as he exited the driver’s seat, along with a sullen blond man.
Arrrrrrhur his guest growled in hatred.
I supposed that would make you Lewis? Sissel inquired, but Lewis didn’t answer, focusing on this ‘Arthur’.
The four living people entered the cave. They split up at the fork, Vivi and her dog going down and Lewis and Arthur going up, though not before Vivi gave him a kiss on his cheek that made Lewis turn red and Arthur grumble. The two made their way to the top of the path which let out over a cliff.
“Man, those are a lot of spikes down there. It looks like the jaw of some monster. Doesn’t it Arthur?… Arthur?”
Lewis turned around just in time to see his best friends hand shove him off the edge. He toppled down until the stalagmite pierced his chest, ending the recap.
“We’ve known each other since we were kids. He was my best friend and he just killed me in cold blood. Why? Was it Vivi? Damn you, Arthur. If it wasn’t for you, Vivi and me could have lived our lives happily.”
“I don’t know why he did it.” Sissel answered honestly. Though it didn’t seem as out of nowhere as his fellow ghost seemed to think. The other man had clearly been upset the entirety of those four minutes. What was the saying? ‘If you think someone goes from 0 to 60 in a second, it means you’ve failed to notice how long they’ve been at 59′. Lewis probably wouldn’t appreciate him saying that though. “Maybe we can find out, but the important thing is we change it. But first we have to get up there.”
“Up?” Lewis realized they were on the tip of the stalagmite that would kill him. He tried to move, but found himself stuck.
“We need to climb up the cores.” Sissel reached out with his soul and snagged a taller stalagmite before grasping onto one on the cave wall.
“Are we going to have enough time?” Lewis asked, worried.
“I wouldn’t want to waste a second.”
By the time they reached the top of the cliff, past Lewis and Arthur were already there. “Man, those are a lot of spikes down there. It looks like the jaw of some monster. Doesn’t it Arthur?”
There’s not much time Sissel jumped to the torch in Past Lewis’s hands
The fire looks different Lewis commented.
It didn’t look any different to Sissel. Maybe it’s your ghost trick? Try something?
Apparently Lewis did, because the torch suddenly flared, startling his living self and causing Arthur to take a step back and cover his face with his hand.
Lewis, I’m going to assume that’s not normal.
No, it’s not Lewis gulped.
Half of Arthur’s body was covered in an insidious green and a black and green eye was peering at them from his palm.
There’s a core in that hand, like the one in your body Sissel observed.
Is that what we need to focus on? Lewis asked.
Cores like that only appear in the dead. And it’s always in their heart, not a hand. So it’s at least worth checking out. Sissel jumped to the core, Lewis right behind him, and entered the ghost world of whatever was in there.
“What is that?” Lewis asked in horror at the souls they found there. It was a green twisting thing, shifting between things that looked like a bat, a rat, with some of Arthur himself.
“I am the god of this cave. I can take any body I please, but I’m so tired of vermin. A living human has walked into my path, and I can’t just let that go!” it said in a voice that sounded like several talking over each other.
Sissel felt a feeling of revulsion. In all likelihood this was someone who’d died in the cave and gained the ghost trick of manipulating living bodies. That this was something his Yomiel could have become frightened him.
“You think you can just replace someone?” Lewis accused.
“Of course not!” it laughed. “First I’ll have to kill everyone close to him, so no one will come looking. Then I’ll be free.”
“That’s why you killed me!” Lewis roared. “You killed me and made me think Arthur did it! If I had that fire here I’d burn you to ashes!”
The ghost world seem to shudder. “What did you do?” The invading ghost screamed as things began to destabilize. Sissel jumped back into the torch to see what had happened.
The torch had been flung to the ground. Living Lewis had flung it aside and was standing over Arthur, shaking him.
Get away from him Ghost Lewis pleaded. It could be a trap from the monster.
It’s not, said Sissel. Look, Arthur has his own core now. Right where his heart was, radiating energy like Lewis had been. You mean Arthur’s- Lewis flung himself from the torch into the newly formed ghost world. By the time Sissel followed Lewis was cradling the unformed ghost in his arms. “Wake up, wake up, buddy . Please it’s me, it’s Lewis.” A far cry from those screams of revenge only minutes earlier.“Lewis?” the newly formed spirit questioned. “Am I Lewis?” The unformed soul expanded until it was a duplicate of the man holding him.
“No, he’s Lewis. You’re Arthur.” Sissel corrected.
“Arthur I…oh…” The ghost shrunk back to Arthur’s normal size.
“Is that normal?” Lewis asked concerned,
“It is,” Sissel assured. “The newly dead are easily confused. Trust me.”
“Dead?” Arthur looked confused. “I’m dead? How did I die?”“I don’t know. We were talking to the thing that was controlling you-”“Controlling me? What are you talking about?”
“Being controlled by a Manipulator can mess with your memories.” Sissel explained. “I’ve dealt with a case like this before, and that was common among the victims. A Manipulator is a ghost who can control living bodies the way I can turn back time and Lewis can manipulate fire.”“So I was possessed?” Arthur clutched his head. “What did it want?”
“To steal your body and kill anyone who’d miss you. It pushed me off the cliff once. Sissel here rewound time to save me, but for some reason you died instead.”
“Oh. Mission Accomplished, I guess.” Arthur seemed to close off.
“What do you mean ‘Mission Accomplished’? You’re dead Arthur!” Lewis seemed on the verge of panic.
“And if it didn’t happen in front of you would you even notice?”
Lewis flinched back as if struck. “Of course I would notice, what are you talking about?”
“I didn’t say anything.” Arthur said defensively.
“You thought it. That’s the same thing here.” Sissel stretched. “Shouldn’t we get to fixing things?”
“Seem pretty fixed to me.” Arthur shrugged. “You wanted to save Lewis. Lewis is saved.”
“And you’re dead in my place, that’s not ‘fixed’.” Lewis sounded frustrated. “And what was that about not knowing you’d be dead if it didn’t happen in front of me?”It was obvious from the look on Arthur’s face he didn’t want to talk, but as Sissel said, thoughts were as good as words. “You’ve barely even looked at me since you started dating Vivi. Neither of you have. I’m just there in the background. You’d probably be happier if I just vanished and you could just live happily ever after with Vivi.”
It was almost word for word what he had said earlier. Lewis’s guilt was further compounded by a tiny ‘I knew it’ from Arthur, revealing just as he had heard Arthur’s thoughts, Arthur had heard his. “That doesn’t count. That was when I thought you’d murdered me.”
“You’d still be better off without a third wheel dragging you down.” Arthur refused to look Lewis in the eye.
Sissel sighed. This felt like Jowd all over again, believing his death was the ‘right’ thing for those who loved him. Well he didn’t take it from the detective and he wasn’t taking it from Arthur.
“I assume we’re going to save Arthur too,” Sissel asked, knowing the answer.
“Oh yeah, I’m not coming back to life without him.” Lewis was filled with determination.
“As you wish,” Sissel smiled as the world dissolved again. The ghost world, Arthur’s body, the green spirit leaping from his arm to Lewis’s, Mystery growing in size as he charged forward. All were erased as time rewound to four minutes earlier.
~
This was the second time Arthur and Sissel watched the van pull up, and the third time for Lewis. It was strange how different Arthur seemed each time to him. The first time he hadn’t noticed him much at all, which sadly fit into Arthur’s belief they didn’t want him here. The second time his bearing had seemed so sinister, colored as it was by his presumed murder. Now though, Arthur seemed so sad. And Lewis couldn’t help hating himself a little for how long he’d let it go on.
The scene followed past the split-up, up to the path.
There Sissel pointed out as the other ghost jumped into Arthur and he began to turn green. Lewis growled, but Arthur just seemed to observe, having no strong feelings on his own possession. At least not until his body began to advance on Lewis with a clear stance to push him over the edge.
“Man, those are a lot of spikes down there. It looks like the jaw of some monster. Doesn’t it Arthur?”
Past Lewis turned around and suddenly his torch flared up.
That still happened? I’m not touching it now? Lewis wondered.
Past you is. We’ve already changed your fate, so we’re going from the new timeline.
The monster in Arthur’s body reared back, startled by the light. Past Lewis likewise froze at seeing the inhuman color and extra eye on his friend.
“Arthur? What’s going on?” Past Lewis asked nervously. He swung the torch halfheartedly, as if he wanted to ward off the monster, but still concerned for his friend. Suddenly the flame gushed out, hitting Arthur and the invader right in their face.“NO!” Past Lewis screamed, throwing the torch aside as he ran to his friend. Arthur tried a few rattling breaths before his burned lungs gave out.
Glad I don’t remember that Arthur said dryly.
Why did the torch explode like that? We were talking to the evil spirit at the time? Lewis wondered
Sissel winced You were talking about burning the spirit to nothing. I’m guessing you don’t need to be touching the fire to affect it
You mean I killed Arthur? Lewis sounded like he was going to be sick I…I just wanted to stop the thing possessing him. I never meant-
Lewis focus. We’re saving him. Sissel reminded. And at least now we don’t have to climb a cliff
It was true. They had begun on the spot Arthur had died. There were still cores on the walls, but nothing they could manipulate or change. Let’s get going.
I might as well stay here Arthur shrugged again Not like I’ll be much use.
Stop talking about that. Lewis chided. And besides, we might need your trick.
My what?
When you die you get a trick. Sissel can turn back time and I can amplify fire. I don’t know what you can do, but we’ll need all the help we can get
Fine Arthur sounded resigned.
As they jumped from core to core, a green bat, also with a core, flew overhead.
I think that’s our Manipulator. Probably scoping out his new body Sissel observed
But how do we stop him? Lewis wondered.
Footsteps echoed through the stone path. Past Lewis and Arthur were coming down the way. They passed under the bat, which spread its wings, ready to take flight.
Lewis now! Fire up that torch Sissel commanded.
The flames leapt up, flash frying the bat, which collapsed with a small screech.
“What just happened?” Past Lewis exclaimed as Past Arthur jumped back. “Oh no, poor thing.” Lewis started to move towards the bat.Stay away from it! Arthur called out in panic, not wanting to see Lewis get possessed by the creature.
“What was that Artie?” Past Lewis turned his head.
“I didn’t say anything,” Past Arthur protested.
“You didn’t tell me to stay away from the bat?”
“No, but you probably should. It might have been rabid,” Past Arthur pointed out.
The three ghosts were stunned.
Your trick is being heard by the living Sissel said in disbelief. Do you have ANY idea how useful that would have been?
You saved us Lewis cheered. Now the Manipulator can’t steal my body
You burned the guy in the first place Arthur sounded pleased with the praise, even as he tried to deflect it.
Sadly, we’re not out of the woods yet A sickly green spirit jumped from the dead bat’s body into a another one, which took off after their living selves.
Oh hell no. Lewis growled, trying to take off after him.
And now he’s going to be on the look out for fire Arthur bemoaned We’re not going to catch him like that again. What can we-
He was interrupted by a slight jangling sound as a small dog followed the boys up the path.
Mystery! Arthur called out, causing the dog to stop
“Arthur?”
He can talk? Sissel asked puzzled. Sure dogs could talk in the spirit world, where all thoughts were connected. But in the living world?
I’m a ghost. Lewis is here too and another ghost named SIssel. There’s something in this cave Sissel calls a Manipulator that steals bodies. It killed us but Sissel can reverse time a little so we’re trying to keep our past selves alive and uncontrolled.
Sissel barely had time to jump to the dogtag and Arthur to his glasses before Mystery took off at a run.
Lewis, jump on his collar! Sissel yelled as they ran past to the ghost still trying to catch up to the bat. He jumped just in time and the dog and three ghosts charged down the path.“Lewis, Arthur, you have to get out of here!” Mystery called out as he caught up with them.
Tell them it’s a natural gas leak Ghost Arthur whispered to him They might argue a supernatural occurrence, but no one’s staying around to inhale more methane.
It was a fair point, and Mystery admired the ghost’s quick thinking. He did not want to take the time to debate whether or not a ghost existed and why they shouldn’t stay to study it if it did. “I smelled something strange on this path. I think there’s some build up of natural gas in this cave.“
“Oh god, that makes sense.” Past Arthur’s eyes widened in realization. “The reports of bad feelings and strange behavior were from methane poisoning. And the thing that happened with your torch earlier!”
All the color drained from Past Lewis’s face. “Vivi! I need to get to Vivi!” He took off running, with Arthur at his heels shouting for him to be careful.
There he is! Lewis shouted as a green bat curved around the group, aiming for Past Arthur’s unguarded back.
As silent as an owl going in for the kill, Mystery leapt up, grabbed the bat, and landed without a sound.
You’ll do it cackled, reaching from the bat to the dog.
Their Past selves never saw, they had already turned a corner, but in that instant Mystery grew several magnitudes his normal size, snout lengthening and several more tails popping up. He let loose a surge of power that knocked the green spirit bat into the bat and rattled the three riders.
Um, I was under the impression Mystery was a dog. For the first time nervousness filled Sissel’s voice. Because as far as I know dogs don’t change in size and can’t do that to ghosts.
No, that was our understanding too. Lewis sounded as shaken as Sissel sounded.
Mystery kept the Manipulator pinned beneath his paw. Listening to Past Lewis and Arthur find Vivi and the three of them heading upward. He then grabbed the now injured bat and flung it off the edge, before shrinking back down.
“It should be sealed in that form. Hopefully it’s helpless to harm anyone else.” Mystery said, shrinking back down.
I have several questions, Arthur mumbled.
Let’s head out. Once we know your past selves are safe I can collapse the timeline and set this as the actual events.
Arthur relayed this to Mystery, who shuddered. “Sissel, your powers are terrifying.”
Right back at him
Mystery ran back to the entrance, meeting up with his humans at the intersection. They ran out the entrance as fast as they could.
That should be good. I’m going to return to my present which should set the timeline
Sissel let go and found himself shooting through time, to the couple of hours in the future, the same time Lynne had brought him to the cave.
~
“You can’t still be sulking,” Lewis chuckled as he drove.
“I really thought when might find something this time.” Vivi pouted. “Instead it was just a hazard zone,”
“Case is still solved though.” Arthur said in a monotone voice from the back seat.
“But it’s not satisfying,” She grumbled.
“It’s not about it being satisfying.” Lewis was grinning.”It’s about - Holy crap!” Lewis slammed the brakes of the van as Arthur sat up, screaming.
“What is it?” Vivi swung her head around, trying to see what happened.
“Did that really happen?” Arthur asked his voice shaking. “Mystery? Sissel?”
It did came a voice only Arthur and Lewis heard from Mystery’s dog tag.
An expletive slipped from Lewis’s lips as he slumped over.
“So you do remember,” Mystery said, curious.
“Can someone explain what’s happening? What’s wrong that everyone seems to know about but me?”
“There was a malevolent entity in the cave. Thankfully there was a benevolent one too, by the name of Sissel.” Mystery explained.
“Then we have to go back!” A grin spread across Vivi’s face. “Let’s check out these entities.”
“Vivi no!” Lewis’s voice was firm in a way he never was with her.
“But-”
“Vivi, Sissel’s power is to rewind time when he comes in contact with a corpse. The corpse he used was Lewis’s.” Arthur explained.
All the excitement left Vivi as that. “Lewis’s?”
“Arthur died too.” Lewis squinted at him in the rear view mirror. “Don’t downplay your own death.”
VIvi was gray by this point. “You died? You both died?” she said in a voice so small it didn’t seem like it could come from her.
Lewis hugged her, so glad he had arms to do so. “We did, but Sissel, who’s currently haunting Mystery’s dog tag, brought us back.”
“Thank you Sissel,” Vivi turned around to face the dog tag. “I can never repay you for what you’ve done.”
It’s what I do. The cat said happily. If you drop me off at a land line I can make my way back to my people. I need to tell them about the Manipulator.
“Will do.” Lewis started to get the van moving again.“Wait, Sissel said he couldn’t talk to the living. How come we can hear him now?” Arthur wondered.
“Hear who?” Vivi asked. “I haven’t heard anyone?”
“Nor I, though I vaguely sense his presence in my tag.” Mystery confirmed.
Side effect of being dead. Sissel explained. You now have cores of your own, so you can hear me, and presumably other ghosts.
“Don’t want to think about that too much.” Lewis adjusted the route he was taking. “Sorry Vi, but after all of this I think our ghost tour needs to wait.”
“You died, Lew. You really think I have a problem with you wanting to go home?” She leaned against this arm, as if making sure he was still there.
“Once we get home we’ll get you to a landline, Sissel.” Lewis promised. “And first thing tomorrow we start looking into therapy for Arthur.”
“Wait, what?” Arthur sat up straight. “Why therapy for me? We both went through the same thing?”
“Because my reaction to being killed wasn’t ‘I guess this is for the best’. This isn’t a gloomy phase you’re going through, this is depression. And I’m not losing you to it any more than I am to the Manipulator,”
Had Jowd been depressed too? Sissel wondered. Was that why he had himself locked in a cage and all but refused to save himself until his daughter was in danger. He’d after to ask.
After he told them about the second Temsik site and manipulator, of course. It would be a lot of work, but it was something his whole colony could come together on, and those were always good.
And it may be his feline curiosity, but he kind of hoped they discussed what the hell that ‘dog’ was before sending him on his way.

Hello! This is your resident Spones trash talking. On the venom au, would you be willing to write how Len met his favorite symbionte? Reactions and stuff... I've een dying to know how that went :) Love this au quite a lot!! Have a good day!
Okay so picture this. It's late at night. The kind of late where the only people walking around are drunken street urchins and strangers prowling for a cheap fuck or a hit. Leonard was one such lowly bastard. He'd tried to get Jim to come and get wasted with him but Jim just said, "No way, Bones. Your therapist says I'm an enabler." So he went alone.
Leonard wasn't a particularly rowdy drunk. When he'd overstayed his welcome at one bar he'd move on to the next. It wasn't like he had work to keep him sober anymore, so he was content to burn the midnight oil until he was too tired to stand upright. Just as he was walking along to the next block the ground beneath his feet shook so hard he almost fell over. It sounded like a meteor struck in the park at the center of the city. If he'd been in his right mind he would've let it alone and continued on his way. But he wasn't, so he didn't.
He couldn't very well walk all the way so he hailed a cab and shoved a fistful of dollar bills through the little window when he was dropped off. It was quiet. Almost deceptively peaceful. Leonard made his way through the thick thatch of woods just at the center of the park, fairly certain he wouldn't find anything but keen on the adventure of it anyway. He was just the right amount of drunk to think he was absolutely invincible. This was probably the most interesting thing to happen to him in a while.
And what if he did find something? Like an alien spaceship all smoking and hot from crashing through the Earth's atmosphere. He'd go up to it thinking whatever was in there was probably dead now. And he'd get attacked by a face sucker from the Alien movies and it would lay eggs in his chest and he'd become a fucked up human incubator.
"Yeah right," he laughed to himself. And just as he suspected, there wasn't anything to find. Just a crater. Maybe about the length of a minivan. It probably was a rock that broke apart on impact. Maybe he shouldn't have gotten so close, but he didn't really see the harm. And that's about when he closed his eyes. Or, more likely, completely passed out.
When he woke up the next morning he was face down on his own bed, still fully dressed and positively leaking alcohol from his pores. His head was pounding and the sun was way too damn bright. Everything from the night before was probably a dream. Leonard rolled himself into the floor and stumbled into the bathroom. God, he looked like a sewer goblin. He should probably take a shower. Had he paid the water bill? He couldn't remember.
He decided to just get his teeth brushed and plop himself down on the couch. After about five minutes he was feeling restless. The sudden uncontrollable urge to go for a run was so overwhelming that his body was already moving before he told his brain to do anything. It took him all of ten seconds to be out the door and on the street. He was jogging along the sidewalk without having any real idea of where he was heading and all he could think was, "this is weird."
Hungry!
"Jesus!" Leonard stopped dead in his tracks so fast he almost left skidmarks. Had his conscience always sounded like that? Maybe he was still drunk. He rubbed his face hard and continued down the street. A good cup of coffee, that's what he needed. Just a few shots of espresso to sober him up. Surely that would do the trick.
The line at the Starbucks was formidable but no moreso than usual. Leonard couldn't stand still. He was fidgeting with his shirt, looking around the cafe, trying to read the menu. Then he spotted the bakery display.
Want that. Give it to me.
Suddenly his body propelled forward, knocking him bodily into the woman standing in front of him. Before he even knew what was happening he was climbing over the display and shoving muffins in his mouth. Wow, he was either really hungry or something was seriously wrong with him. "Sorry, just couldn't wait!" He told the barista who was absolutely mortified. Leonard laughed nervously and dropped a handful of cash over the counter before promptly turning and leaving the premises.
"Oh my god, oh my god." He couldn't believe he'd just done that. What the hell had come over him? Leonard needed to go home and take something then get right into bed. Maybe he'd feel normal after some sleep. That would do the trick. A nice long sleep, then it was back to business as usual. He certainly wouldn't be visiting a bar anytime soon after this complete mess of an afternoon.
When he'd returned to the apartment he went straight into the bathroom to wash his face. Maybe he just wasn't awake yet. That would account for the irrational and impulsive behavior. Leonard felt marginally better after the cold water woke him up a bit until he looked in the mirror. The thing that was staring back at him wasn't his own reflection. It was monstrous. Large and black, big white eyes.
With a shriek he stumbled backwards and fell out of the bathroom. This was crazy. Absolutely insane. Should he call someone? He should probably call someone. Jim. Jim would know what to do. Fuck, where was his cellphone? Leonard scrambled up onto his knees and lunged for the table next to his bed. He shoved things off of it until he found his phone under a stack of magazines. Just as he was about to unlock it and call for his friend, something jerked him back down onto the floor. The phone dropped out of his hand and skidded under the bed.
Leonard scrambled to get over into his back so he could see whatever was in there with him. The thing he saw in the mirror was looming over him. It was so much bigger up close. He wanted to scream but for some reason he couldn't.
Do not be frightened, Leonard.
It was way too late for that. He was scared shitless. Was this how he was going to die? Probably. Did he deserve this? Probably. Leonard was frozen into place, staring up at his captor. Maybe this was some kind of metaphor for the way he'd lived his life. Some kind of weird ass ghost of Christmas past bullshit. No, this was insane.
"This isn't real," he said to what he instinctively knew was an empty room. He was probably losing it. Finally lost his mind, completely off his rocker. He definitely needed to be committed.
I assure you, Leonard, I am indisputably real.
"Okay, sure," he said flatly. "How'd you get here without anybody seeing you then?" The creature leaned closer and opened its mouth into a lopsided smile. Leonard flinched hard at the sight of it's indecently sharp teeth and flattened himself to the floor as much as he could without physically becoming part of it.
You found me, Leonard. In the forest. I was weakened by the impact of the crash. I asked to take refuge in your body and you agreed.
Of course he did. Leonard was a fucking idiot. King of the idiots. He brought his hands to his face and rubbed his eyes hard. Okay, okay. This was happening. Actually really happening. "What are you gonna do, eat me?"
The beast paused as if considering. Seeming to sense Leonard's spike in blood pressure it backed up a fraction. I will do no such thing. I need a host to survive, Leonard. To kill you would also kill me. The journey here was far and I require rest. Time to heal unencumbered.
"Okay, fine." Was Leonard actually taking this seriously? He supposed he was. "Go back to where you came from, then."
Very well. I shall.
And with that, the alien seemed to liquefy on the spot. It became a puddle of sludge and slid it's mass over Leonard's torso where it seeped into his skin. Leonard bolted upright and practically tore his shirt off. He touched his own skin expecting to find something wrong but it was normal. It looked fine. Did that really just happen?
Yes, Leonard. It happened.
It didn't take a genius to connect the dots here. Clearly this… whatever it was… was using Leonard's body and puppeting him around to get what it wanted. He slowly rose to his feet and gave himself another once over. He didn't seem to be injured. A million questions raced through his mind but the only one he could think to voice was, "How do you know my name, anyway?"
I am inside of your body. I have full access to your brain. I know everything you know.
"Right," Leonard muttered to himself. "Course."

Fix Her
It’s been a while but I’ve decided to commit (??) to finishing this Five and Vanya fic! Sorry if you’ve been waiting ://
Summary: Five was Vanya's only friend at the academy, once he left, everything changed. A.K.A It’s a fic about Vanya and Five's friendship growing up, and how that friendship kept them hopeful in all the years they spent apart.
Chapter 6 (read on ao3, or read chapter 1)
28 days before
“Five, what’s wrong?” He seemed moody, even more than usual. He was huddled over the book he was reading, hunchbacked and staring down the page with an unnatural intensity. He wasn’t even reading it, just staring at the same block of text until his eyes grew raw and watery. He pulled out a notebook and pen and began scribbling feverishly onto the page, pressing so hard against the paper that she was sure it would break.
She’d stopped playing her violin to question him, but he didn’t seem to notice that the music had stopped. She’d only had the instrument for about a year and a half now, but already she loved it more than anything. She'd been playing here in the library alone since early that morning, whilst the other’s had trained. Five had stomped in looking distraught, and sat himself down with one of those dense theoretical physics books he somehow found solace in reading.
He slammed the book shut abruptly, snapping up to look at her with wild eyes. “I can’t believe him!” He snapped. It wasn’t hard to guess that he was talking about their father.
“What has he done now?” she sighed, sympathetic.
“He still won’t let me time travel,” he threw his hands up, exasperated. “I’ve been practising my spatial jumps like crazy – you know I did five of them in seven seconds and I didn’t even pass out! I thought he’d be proud or something, after all those times I’d faint after two or three in row, but no, nothing.” He paused for a moment, but started rattling off again before Vanya could get a calming word in. Sometimes it was best to just let him vent. “I mean, I don’t know what I expected, even when we do what the old bastard says it’s never enough. He doesn’t think I’m strong enough, he thinks I’m just some stupid kid like the rest.”
Vanya let him stew for a moment before speaking up, cautious. She wasn’t sure that she wanted him to try something that was apparently so dangerous. Their father was always forcing the others to push the limits of their powers – but he was quite firm on the subject; time travel was a step too far. It was uncharacteristic, for sure, but perhaps only because it was an ability that Reginald couldn’t control, that couldn’t serve the purpose of the academy. She began slowly, “Well, he says it’s dangerous, what if you got hurt or lost or–“
He interrupted her. “I’m not scared, Vanya,” he scoffed, “and I know what I’m doing.”
She sighed, setting down her violin and sitting down on the couch beside him. ”I know you do, Five.”
“Sorry,” he said, a moment later, calmer now. “It’s just that, I put so much effort into showing him I could be what he wanted, that I could be an important part of the academy, but now he tells me I can’t even explore the full range of my power. All that talk about our ‘gifts’ and our obligation to reach our full potential – it’s all just inspiring bullshit to get us to do what he says, isn’t it?”
“That’s his game, he makes all of us care so much about making him proud, but I don’t think he really loves any of us –“ she paused before adding, with a smirk, “maybe Luther, a little bit.”
Five rolled his eyes, “Oh god, he pisses me off so much.” She smiled back, and they sat together quietly for a time before he spoke again. His tone was purposeful, almost whimsical. When he looked up at the warm light of the chandelier overhead, he was staring out into a place she couldn’t see, his mind, his master plan. “We could escape, you know, and not just out of the city, we could go to a different time, somewhere that dad could never find us.”
“You really think so?” She was willing to play his game, it was fun to fantasise about such things, even if she considered it all too good to be true. Hopes were best kept low, She’d learnt as much in her short life already. ”Where could we go?”
Anywhere,” he said, throwing his arms out wide, as if to indicate that the world was their’s for he taking “Or, anywhen,” he winked. She giggled at the smug look on his face, as if he’d just made the cleverest of jokes. Suddenly he was all seriousness again, brows arched in concentration. “I think we should go to the future, wouldn’t that be incredible?” It was hard to wrap her head around, moving through time, but she trusted him. “We should wait though, until we’re a little older and until I’ve practised time travelling enough that I’ll get it right.” Vanya watched him, he was going through the process in his mind, weighing their options, building the scenario in his head. “Just think about it Vanya!” He leant forwards and placed an over-enthusiastic hand on her shoulder. “Dad would never find us, and there’d be all sort of cool stuff there - like robots, even smarter than mom, and teleporters and spaceships that can go anywhere in the whole universe!”
It sounded so wonderful, she found it harder than ever to rule out the possibility. “You’d really take me with you?” She asked. Even after all these years, it was hard to imagine why he would. He gave her a sad smile and sat down beside her again, taking her hand in his and giving it an encouraging squeeze.
“Of course I will Vanya,” he said, searching for her eyes beneath her fringe. “Once I learn how, and I get lots of practise, it’ll be no trouble at all. We can take a suitcase and your violin, and we’ll never have to come back here again.”
“That’s sounds,” she grinned, “extraordinary.” He returned the gesture, and the secret plan sat unspoken between them throughout most of the coming weeks, save those precious moments they spent alone here in the library or hidden away in the old, forgotten places that the other’s barely visited. It was a safety net, a promise kept that, if things got bad, they would have each other, they would have an a way out.
He opened his notebook again and began writing. His calm, light scrawling struck a contrast against the dark jagged symbols from earlier, as if he’d been trying to take his anger out on the very page. More sums, he never seemed to tire of them. He was still flustered, though, and he’d made a mistake.
She pointed to the bottommost line, reminding him, “remember to carry the four.”
…
14235 days after
Remember to carry the four.
“Honestly, you think I’d forget something like that?”
Well you did, just yesterday, and it took you hours to figure out what you’d done wrong.
“Yes, alright but I’m paying attention this time.”
You mean you’re not pass-out drunk this time.
Five rolled his eyes, she was always on his case about the drinking. There weren’t any other depressants laying around forty years into the end of the world. It was numbing, sometimes it even created an illusion of contentedness. “Hey, now that’s not fair, it was my fortieth anniversary of being stuck here with you, I was celebrating an occasion of utter hopelessness.”
You love me, she chided.
“Well, yes, but that doesn’t mean I’m not sick of eating four-decade-old tinned beans does it?”
I thought you’d given up on going back to your family.
“Of course I have, there’s nothing left for me there. I still have a world to save - if I can, or at the very least, I want to see for myself what did this, and why my powers are useless here.” He sighed, stepping back from the wall at the chalk scratches he hoped would unlock the secrets of time and space. He’d spent the morning reinforcing the canvas shelter overhead. You could never be too careful, especially after that time it rained suddenly a few ears ago, and washed away half his work. “How many times have I told you this, Delores?”
Far too many. Sometimes you need to remind yourself what you’re fighting for. Of course she was right, it was rare that she wasn’t. He was the one who needed reminding of the world he’d lost. He was the one that needed to keep motivated enough not to drink himself into a hole and forget about it all. It was Delores that stopped him from doing just that, almost every day. She was always smiling, so positive and hopeful despite the crushingly poor odds. They’d overcome everything the end could throw at them so far. He couldn’t give up now.
Some decades earlier, he’d stopped searching for survivors. Everywhere he went, he saw more of the same: ashes, ruin, and corpses in various states of decay. He wasn’t about to try and cross the seas, he’d only get himself killed. He remembered huddling under piles of fallen stone, or holing up in an underground bunker that hadn’t completely caved in, just to hide from the blizzards that raged for years on end. The winter was long, but the fire was worse, and surviving the radiation it brought had been a miracle in of itself, though he wasn’t optimistic about his life expectancy. He remembered reading somewhere about what happened to the world after a nuclear strike, or a high-impact meteor. He’d found it fascinating to consider the hypothetical; what an interesting feat of science, of nature. Living it was something else entirely.
First ash, then ice, fire, and now, the world was finally starting to look that way that it used to. Plants had begun to grow again, sprouts of green between the gravelled roads, roots snaking up through rusted metal, leaves splayed out towards the sun, fighting through crumbling stone. It was beautiful, in a way, that life in some form kept on struggling. The weather was becoming more and more stable, the sun beating down pleasantly on his back, and the dark, moonless nights were no longer frigid, bone-chilling affairs. With a fire going, they were pleasant too. If he found a bed of newly-blossomed flowers, struggling to life in this unforgiving wasteland, he thought that it might be a pleasant place to die too. He tried not to think about that, not yet anyway.
Not today, and keep telling it to yourself everyday until you’ve finished the job, or until the job is finished with you.
“I know,” he muttered in reluctant agreement. He realised he’d been slacking, losing himself in his thoughts again. He lifted the chalk back up to the wall and tried to grasp at loose strings of thought. When he was concentrating on his equations, the one great problem of his life, he could block out the rest of it. There was no room to think about anything else. “I’m so close, I can feel it.” How many times had he said that? When had he run out of creative ways to lie to himself?
I know you are. You can do this, you can stop it. This is what the academy was meant for.
That sentiment had made so much sense when he was a child, when he’d been riding on promises from his father that they’d save the world. Of course, nothing about him made sense anymore – I mean, just look at Delores… When everyone else was gone, and your own head was the only place left, sense didn’t count for anything, you made your own.
This goal was all he had, because all this time – his whole life – it couldn’t all be for nothing. He wouldn’t let it be for nothing.

Turtles Forever Part 67
Darkness Within
The kitten, Klunk, was watching the turtles as they were fixing up the Battle Shell.
"Donnie, these techno brainstorms of yours have gotta stop!" Raph said as Donnie walked up with a blowtorch in his hand.
"Are you kidding me?" Donnie questioned, putting his goggles on. "When we're done, the Battle Shell will be sheered and-" But, a knock on the garage door interrupts them.
"Guys! Guys, are you in there?!" Angel called out from the outside, still banging loudly. They ran to the garage door and open it to see the teenage girl standing in front of them.
"Angel?" Donnie asked.
"Something terrible has happened!" Angel exclaimed. She lunges forward into Mikey, hugging him. He hugs her back, trying to calm her down.
The four brothers, along with Mona, Venus and Alopex were in the the Battle Shell, driving on the road. Splinter volunteered to look after the new born baby, spending time with his new granddaughter.
"Where are we going?" Donnie questioned.
"Wall street and Hanover." Angel explained, pointing him in the direction to drive.
"Take the West side highway." Leo said. Mikey smiles teasingly.
"Wall street? Is this about your portfolio? Too many tech stocks, huh?" He joked, looking at the map. Angel held out a gold coin to him. Mikey's eyes widen in surprise. "Whoa..." He takes it, inspecting the coin.
"Gold? No way!" He commented.
"Angel, where'd you get a gold coin?" Raph questioned.
"My brother gave it to me. He found it at the construction job he was working at, the Volpeharp building." Angel explained.
"It's dated 1611." Mikey murmured, looking at her. "Oh, your brother found buried treasure?"
"I told him not to go back. I told him I had a bad feeling about it. That was three days ago. Since then, nothing" Angel covered her eyes.
"What did the police say?" Leo asked.
"They said they were too busy with the fallout from the invasion to go look for some punk on a treasure hunt." Angel sniffed. Raph hugged her.
"It's okay," He said. "We're going to get 'im back."
The van turned around the corner and saw a very large old building.
"That's it. That's the Volpehart building." Angel said. Donnie stopped the van. The group walked out and heading towards the very ominous building. There were gargoyles at the top of the door, staring down at them.
"Man, talk about creepy central!" Mikey exclaimed.
"I don't get it." Donnie spoke. "What kind of a building on Wall street doesn't have any security?"
"Guys..." Mikey called out. "Look. C. F. Volpehart. 1616. Whoa, could this place be any more like Castle Dracula?"
"Come to me." A dark voice called out. Angel and Alopex gasped.
"Who said that?" Angel and Alopex asked at the same time, looking around.
"Said what? Are you okay?" Leo questioned.
"It's -It's probably my imagination." Angel explained. "I'm a little freaked out, that's all."
"Come to me." The two girls both heard the voice spoke again. "Find the way." Quietly, Alopex walked over to a tapestry and lifted it up. Underneath it was a button, that had an eye on fire above a pyramid. She pressed it and it began glowing. She gasp as the place started to rumble until a hidden floor open up, making an underground passageway. Everyone looked down at it, curiously.
"Alopex, how did you?" Donnie questioned.
"I-I don't know. I sort of knew that it was there..." She stammered.
They walk down the stairs into an underground hallway, with torches lit up along the walls. The feet splashed in the water as the group walked up to a large door. It had the same symbol with an eye and pyramid.
"Whoa, ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Creepsville!" Mikey commented. They look up to see writing above the door.
"What's it say, Don?" Leo murmured.
"It's Italian. It says 'abandon all hope, he who enters here'." Donnie explained.
"See, what did I tell you? Creepy!" Mikey called out.
"Yeah?" Raph spoke. "Well, check this out." He gestures towards the skeletons and piles of bones. Mikey made a girlish scream.
"Can we get a move on!?" He pressed.
"We've gotta find my brother! He's gotta be in there!" Angel insisted. She ran over to the door, banging on it.
"Angel, no!" Leo warned. They pushed the door, trying to get it to open, but it didn't budge. Suddenly, the eye began to glow bright red as do the skeletons. Everyone heard whispering as the skeletons began to come to life. They turned around to see the horde of undead advancing towards them.
"Ah, is it just me or is this way off the creepy meter?" Mikey asked, nervously, gripping his nunchucks.
Raph jumps up and smacks slices the head off a skeleton, but it smacks Raph away. Donnie fought with a skeleton, jumping and ducking, as it swing its sword. Leo jumps at a skeleton and kicks it down. He turns around and blocks with his katanas against an skeleton as it struck.
"There's something seriously wrong here." Donnie said to Leo. " You can hit them, but they just keep coming! "
"And," Mikey shouted as he punched a skeleton. "There's more of them! Look!"
More skeletons stood before the group as the others started to reassemble themselves.
"You fools!" A voice shouted. Everyone looked and saw an old man holding a lit lantern. "You can not kill the dead!"
"Run, you must follow me!" He called out. The turtles and girls ran over to him as the skeletons followed behind them, chasing them. They ran up the stairs and the old man quickly pressed the button, closing the passage. A skeleton's head gets chopped off, as the stairs closed itself, landing in front of the group.
"What the shell is going on around here?" Raph demanded
"Silence!" the old man shouted. "You should have not come here, but it is too late now. You have gone too far. There is no going back, if you truly wish answers to your questions, you'll follow me."
The old man lead the group into his study. There was a painting of a young man with blond hair. The old man stared into the fireplace.
"Uh, sir?" Donnie called out. "Aren't you the least freaked out? I mean, seeing us?"
"I have seen many strange things in my life." The man turned off the lantern and turned to face them. "Very little surprises me, but know this: the money that you seek will never be yours. It is bait for a trap, only a gruesome rate await those who go after it.
"We're not here for the money. We're looking for my brother! Tall, brown hair-" Angel started.
"He found this coin here and came back looking for more." Leo explained, holding the gold coin. "That would have been about three days ago
"Yes, he was here." The man took the coin from Leo. "I gave him the same warning as I gave them all, but they ignored me. They went through the golden door and never returned.
"Then we'll just have to go in after him." Raph replied, holding his sais.
"Ignoramus! Perhaps, you will change your mind when you know something of what you will find there." The man took a book from the bookshelf, dusting of off, revealing the same eye and pyramid.
"A thousand years ago, there fell to Earth a meteorite. It brought with a creature of terrible evil and un-sensual hunger, whispering promises of great wealth and power. The creature lured the gluttonous and greedy to it's side. Fortunately, the native people proved too strong of character. In fact, they created a weapon to protect themselves from the creature, a weapon created from the growing red stone from the meteor itself. But before the natives could slay the atrocity with the meteor spear, the call of the creature's life had reached across the sea to a race of men filled with greed for the good of the new world. One such man was C. F. Volpehart. Volpehart took the land by force. And so, Volpehart's fortune grew. His dark legacy endured and the ancient evil creature from the stars thrived. It is no accident that that the financial capital for the entire nation surrounds this very edifice. The Volpehart building."
"But, what about you?" Leo questioned the man, wondering. "How do you fit into this?"
"I...I am Volpehart's heir," The old man explained. "I have vowed to destroy the creature, to the curse from my family. But I was too weak. Too long under it's influence. No matter how much I desired to end it's accursed life, I could not. Do you still wish to face this beast?" He asked, turning to them.
"We don't have a choice." Leo answered.
"We have to." Raph replied.
"You have courage," The man praised them, taking out a spear from hidden drawer. "Here, the meteor spear," He handed it to Leo.
"May it serve you in your time of need."
The passage opens again as the group stood in front of it.
"Hey, guys!" Angel called out, running over to them. "Wait up!"
"Sorry, Angel, you gotta stay here where it's safe." Leo said.
"Please find my brother." Angel pleaded.
"We will." Leo answered. "I promise."
They walked down the stairs and were now in the same hallway again. The spear illuminated a red glow as they walked towards the door. As soon as they entered, the door began to glow red making the skeleton come back to life again. They began to advance towards the group.
"Great, here comes the bone brothers again!" Raph grumbled, irritated.
"Back off!" Leo ordered, brandishing the spear at the skeletons. They screeched in fear seeing the spear, backing off. The group headed towards the door and it opens for them. They walked inside and the door closed shut behind them.
The group walked deeper as they found themselves in a cave with Leo walking in front of them, holding the spear.
"You guy's buy that old man's story?" Raph asked.
"After those skeletons, I'm about ready to believe anything." Leo replied. They walked deeper into the room to see a huge fire engulfing a rock in the center of it. There were strange pods, as well, all around the room.
"Well, I guess that's the meteor the old man told us about." Donnie replied.
"Guys, over here," Leo called out, walking over to one of the pods. "What are these?" He cuts it open and inside was a skeleton along with money. Donnie picked it up
"This is a civil war bond," he explained. "This guy just be a hundred and fifty years old."
"There are thousands of these cells." Leo pointed out. "If Angel's brother ended up in here, it could take us weeks to find him."
Suddenly, tentacles began to come out from every crevice, heading towards them. "Come to me." Mikey noticed one of them.
"Uh, guys? Don't look now, but the creepy meter just went def-con one!"
Everyone looked around to see that they were surrounded by the tentacles.
"Is it more than one creature?" Leo asked.
"I don't know." Donnie answered.
"I don't want to know!" Mikey replied, spinning his nunchucks.
Raph growled and jumped up trying to fight the creature. Mikey gets caught by one of the tentacles. Apple's tried to run over to help him, but caught as well.
"Hold on!" Raph called out, rushing over to the two. A tentacle catches him from behind, followed by Mona. Donnie, Leo and Venus tried to fight off the tentacles as it came at them. Two tentacle grabbed Donnie and Venus, capturing them. Leo tried to reach out to them, but eventually gets caught as well, making Leo drop the spear.
They struggled against the tentacles hold on them then one appears in front of Leo.
"No!"
Darkness filled Leo's vision as went unconscious. He gasped as he opened his eyes to find himself covered in goo. He looked around to see that he was in a pod. How long had he been out? What about the others? Were they alright? Suddenly, Leo heard thumping to his right and he turned to see two figures outside. It whacked against the pod, opening it, revealing to be Splinter and Yuuki.
"Master Splinter?" Leo exclaimed. "Yuuki? What are you doing here?"
"We sensed that you were in trouble." Yuuki explained, helping Leo out of the pod.
"We came to rescue you." Splinter said.
"Where are the others?" Leo asked, kneeling down.
"We must find them." Splinter ordered. He looks up and the ceiling to crumble down on top them. Tentacles from the creature began to slowly head towards them. "We must hurry!"
Leo stood in front of Yuuki as it came closer. He pulled out his swords while Yuuki pulled out her tessen heading themselves.
Suddenly, a familiar evil laugh made the Leo, Yuuki and Splinter freeze. They turned their heads to see Shredder emerge from the shadows standing in front of them. Leo cringed.
Great, what more can go wrong?
Donnie found himself walking down a yellow hallway. He stops when he sees two people in front of him, Angel and Venus. "Angel?" She and Venus walk up to him. "What are you doing here? We told you stay outside."
Angel laughs as she and Venus ran off. Donnie chased after them, calling out to them. There were two tunnels. Venus ran to the one on the left while Angel ran to right. Donnie stopped at the tunnels deciding who he should go after. Venus was strong she could look after herself. However, Angel wasn't. Donnie ran to the tunnel on the right chasing after the teenage girl.
"This is no time for games! Wait up!" He chased after Angel, trying to stop her.
"Where are you going?"
They appear in the same room with the fire and meteorite and where his brothers and the other girls were captured. Donnie was that Angel was walking dangerously along the edge of the fire with the meteorite.
"Angel, I don't know what's going on, but, get away from the edge!" He warned. Angel laughed as she turned her head looking at him. She slips falling off the edge, screaming.
Donnie gasped and he quickly ran over looking over the edge in horror.
"No!"
"Donnie," Donnie heard Venus call out to him from behind. He turned to her.
"Venus! It's Angel, she fell-!" Donnie's eyes widen. Venus was standing in front of him, but her eyes were gone. They have been plucked out. Donnie felt like he was going to be sick as he stared in horror at his girlfriend.
"Venus,..y-your eyes! What happened to your eyes?!"
"Where were you? Why did you leave me?" Venus said.
"I-I thought you were safe-"
"Well, I wasn't!" Venus snapped. "The Prime Leader found me and stole my eyes and it's all your fault! The only thing that I have left of my people is gone!"
Donnie stared silently at her in shock.. The Prime Leader?! Wasn't he in prison? How did he escape?
"Venus, I'm sorry."
"No you're not!" Venus shouted. Donnie flinched.
"I wish that I never met you!"
Venus opened her eyes, only to see that her hands were bound. She stood up and looked around the room to see that she was on a Triceraton ship. She froze when she saw Zanramon staring directly at her as he sit on the throne. He stood up and started to advance towards her.
"Venus, how lovely of you to return," He smiles evilly.
Venus eyes widen as she tried to back away from him. But, as she did, she trips over something and falls down on the floor. Her eyes widen in horror to see Donnie, completely beaten up. He could barely move as he tried to reach out to her.
"Venus, run..." He said, hoarsely. Venus stood frozen where she stood completely paralyzed in fear. Zanramon now stood in front of her, towering down on her. He looked down at Donnie and kicked him on his side.
"Don't!" Venus cried out. Zanramon turned his eyes to her and laughed evilly.
"How pathetic that you would chose such a miserable creature over me." He started to walk over to her and bend down on his knee, grabbing Venus by her cheeks. Venus teared up.
"I would chose him a thousand times over you, you murder!" She shouted. "My entire race, my father, Chung I, is dead because of you!"
Zanramon stared at her silently then growls. Venus eyes widen and Zanramon grabbed her by the throat, choking her. Venus struggled to break out of his hold, but he was stronger. Venus shut her eyes as she struggled to breathe. Then she found herself pinned to the floor as Zanramon leaned over her.
"I will make you mine!" He smiled, evilly.
"No!" Venus screamed.
Water from the ceiling dripped down on Mikey, waking him up. He groans as he sits up. "Leo? Raph? Donnie? Allie?" Mikey called out, looking around. "Are you guys here?"
"I'm here, Mikey." Mikey heard Leo's voice behind him. He sees Leo hiding in the shadows.
"What happened?" Mikey questioned.
"The creature got us, but it was merciful." Leo replied. But, something in his voice sounded off. "It offered a chance to join it, to serve it, to become like it. I took it's offer." He steps out revealing tentacles on his left arm. Leo ran towards Mikey, attacking. Mikey backs away, gripping his nunchucks.
"Ew!" He commented on disgust. He pulls out his nunchucks and tried to hit Leo. But, the tentacles grab Mikey by his wrist and Leo kicks him down. Mikey lands roughly on the ground and looks up at his brother. "Leo?"
Leo laughed silly at him and the tentacles wrapped around Mikey.
"Noo!"
Alopex woke up to find herself in a dark room. She stood up and walked towards the door, only to find that it was locked. She tried to bang on it.
"Hey, guys! Mikey?!" She shouted. "If this is a joke it isn't funny! Let me out!"
The door opened and Alopex eyes widen to see an old fox woman standing in front of her, her grandmother, along with two younger fox females, her half sisters. Alopex eyes widen as she backed away from them.
"Look, who came crawling back to us," the old women, smiled evilly. The other two foxes laughed.
"No..." She murmured. "Not here. I can't be back here."
The two fox women grabbed her and dragged Alopex out by her hair. She screamed in pain as they took her into a courtyard. Alopex was tossed hard to the ground. She looked up and saw that she was surrounded by multiple foxes old and young as they all stared at her with a dark look and disgust.
She was back in her old village. Same eyes staring at her with hatred. Everyone began chanting around her and in a sing song tone "murder." Alopex eyes widen in horror as she tried to cover her ears.
"I'm not a murder!" She cried out loud. Then her grandmother walked over to her and slapped her across the face.
"My daughter, your mother is dead because of you!"
"No...I-I didn't...It wasn't my fault!" Alopex argued. Her grandmother scoffed.
"Not your fault?" she said. "My dear, if it wasn't for you, she would be alive right now, with her people." She bared her fangs at Alopex angrily. "But, because she choose to run off with a man that wasn't a fox. She had you, and now she's dead. You killed her because you were born."
"Stop..." Alopex pleaded. Her two older half sisters picked up rocks and started to throw them, hitting her.
"Half breed!" The two of them taunted.
"Stop, please!"
Mona woke up and found herself unable to move as she was contained in a glass cell. She pounded on it trying to find a way out, but to no avail. Then a bright light blinded her as it came on. Her eyes widen in horror to see Bishop, smiling evilly on the other end of the glass prison.
"Y-You!" she stammered. Her eyes wondered around the room. "Where's Raphie?" Bishop laughed darkly and stepped to the side, revealing Raph strapped on a table.
"He's right here." Bishop said. "Along with your little daughter as well."
Mona's eyes widen in horror to see Elizabeth as an agent brought her in, placing her in Bishop's hands.
"Please, don't hurt them!" Mona pleaded, frantically. "Don't hurt her! Do whatever you want to me but leave her out of this!"
"Let's start with the experiment's, shall we?"
"Stop!"
Raph hears water dripping near him and he wakes up. Then he hears evil laughter that sounded so familiar.
"Huh, what's that? Who's there?" Raph demanded. Shredder stepped in front of him.
"Shredder," Raph growled pulling out his sai. "Why am I not surprised that you're behind all of this? Bring it on!" Raph spins his sais and lunges directly at the Shredder. The Shredder ducked blocking Raph's sai with his gauntlet. He punches Raph back and he rolled on the ground colliding with the wall. Parts of the ceiling crashed down on Raph hitting his head.
"Alright, Shred head," Raph growled, angrily rubbing his head. "Let's try that again!"
He kicks Shredder to the ground and back flips onto his stomach, only to get punched in the face. Shredder pushes Raph's face to the floor and Raph kicked the Shredder's helmet off. It was himself. HE was the Shredder! Raph's eyes widen in shock.
"No..." He said in disbelief. "You're...you're me!"
His evil self laughed evilly and punched him in the face.
Leo, Splinter, and Yuuki look around as the tentacles began to surround them. "Master Splinter, Yuuki, the creature! Look out!" Leo warned. Yuuki and Splinter dodged the tentacles as it came at them. Then the Shredder started to advance towards the group. Leo was struggling as he tried to fight of the creature. Yuuki saw the Shredder heading towards them. She landed next to Leo kicking a tentacle away.
"I'll keep him away. Help Splinter!" She told him. Then she charged at the Shredder and began fighting him. A tentacle grabbed Splinter.
"Leonardo!" Splinter called out as Leo sliced some tentacles. Leo gasped when he saw Splinter in the creature's grasp.
"L-Leo!" Leo turned his head back towards Yuuki to see she was disarmed by the Shredder as he knocked her weapon out of her hands. Shredder came towards her raising his gauntlet in the air. The creature began to squeeze Splinter. Leo looked back over at Splinter to see the the creature drop him as Splinter landed on the ground with a thud, lifeless. Then Leo heard a haunting blood curdling scream. He looked back over towards Yuuki and what he saw would forever haunt him in his memory. Shredder had struck Yuuki down with his gauntlet. She fell to the ground with a thud with three huge slash marks deep across her chest. Shredder had somehow mysteriously vanished.
"No!" Leo cried out. He quickly ran over to them, holding Splinter and Yuuki in his arms.
"Master Splinter? Yuuki?" Leo shook his head in shock. This can't be happening! "Master Splinter, Yuuki. No! Noo!"
Leo blacked out again. He opened his eyes to find himself in the pod and covered in goo again. Again, there was thumping next to him and Leo turned his head and gasped when he saw Yuuki and splinter, completely unharmed. And alive?
"Master Splinter? Yuuki?" Leo asked as Yuuki and Splinter helped pull him out of the pod. Leo looked at them confused. "Master Splinter, Yuuki, I...I thought I saw you," Splinter placed his hands on Leo shoulders. "You weren't-"
"You are confused, my son." Splinter explained.
"We're fine, Leo." Yuuki replied. There was something off with their voices. Leo shook his head.
"No, I'm sure." He pushed Splinters hand away from him and stood up. "I know what I saw. You both were..." There no way they were alive, but here they were completely unharmed. Leo tried to think what just happened. Something was wrong....
"You can't be my master and my girlfriend." Splinter's and Yuuki's eyes glow red as they picked up their weapons. "Something's not right."
They both attacked Leo, knocking him down. Leo turned to them. "Yuuki? Master Splinter?"
"You have disappointed me, Leonardo. Now I must teach you your final lesson!" Splinter said as he and Yuuki began to advance towards Leo.
"I never loved you!"
Leo backed away from them.
"Master Splinter, Yuuki! No! Noo!"
Leo cringed as the two raised their weapons above their heads getting ready to bring them down. Leo kicks splinter and Yuuki away.
"This can't be happening, this can't be real!" He scrambled to get up and quickly ran over to his swords, picking them up.
"None of this can be real! You can't be Yuuki and Master Splinter!" Leo shouted, pointing his sword at Splinter and Yuuki, who were getting up again. Their weapons floated from off the ground and went back into their hands and they both attacked Leo again. Leo slashed Splinter's staff in half and kicked Yuuki, knocking her back. Splinter and Yuuki both kicked Leo, knocking him down to the ground then they both jumped in the air lunging at him.
A sickening sound was heard as flesh was cut through pierced the air. Leo stared up in horror at Splinter and Yuuki as his swords pierced through their chests.
"Leonardo...What have you done?" Splinter asked, his eyes turning back to normal.
"L-Leo,...why?" Yuuki cried. Leo shook his head and immediately shut his eyes tight.
"No! It's not real! Its. Not. Real!" Leo shouted. Splinter and Yuuki's eyes turn red again and laughed evilly.
Leo gasped as he opened his eyes, seeing that he was in the pod, again. He took his swords and sliced through it, jumping out. He looked around and saw seven glowing red pods next to his. He sliced one and pulled it open to see Mikey covered in goo. He was struggling in his sleep.
Mikey looked up as "Leo approached him. "Listen to me, Mikey, this isn't real. It's all in your mind." He heard Leo's voice speak to him. Mikey looked to the side and saw the real Leo.
"You have to wake up." Leo put his hand on Mikey's shoulder, waking him up. He opens his eyes in surprise.
"Huh? Leo! What happened?" Mikey said.
"It was a dream, a nightmare," Leo explained. "Come on, we've got to wake the others up."
Mikey opened a pod and saw Alopex inside of it. He grabbed her shoulders, shaking her trying to wake her up. But, something strange happened. As he did, he could see what Alopex was seeing.
In Alopex's mind, He saw that he was in a village completely inhabited only by foxes. As he walked in, Mikey saw a huge crowd, cheering, some throwing rocks, and chanting at someone. He walked closer and his eyes widen in surprise to see Alopex as she tried to defend herself from the flying projectiles.
"What the shell? Are all you people doing?!" Mikey shouted, angrily. Everyone stopped and turned to him. Alopex grandmother stepped up.
"This is none of your business, kappa!" She shouted. "Leave now!" Mikey stared at her, confused. What's a kappa? He shook his head then walked over to Alopex, helping her up.
"I don't know what's going on," He said. "But, I'm taking her with me."
"So you want the freak?" one of Alopex older sisters replied.
"Yeah, she's a murder!" the other one shouted. Mikey's eyes widen and looked at Alopex. She turned her head away from, not looking at him.
"Look, I don't care what Alopex did to you guys. But, that's in the past." Mikey said. "I will not let you hurt her."
He looked at Alopex and held his hand out to her.
"Come on, let's go," He said. "You don't need them." Alopex stared at Mikey with wide eyes then back to her grandmother, and the rest of the villagers then back to him. She smiled then nodded and took Mikey's hand.
Eventually, everyone was free and out of the pods and were clean.
"So some how, this creature or whatever its, was manipulating our minds." Leo said to them.
"Well, I don't like being anybody's lunch asleep or awake!" Mikey exclaimed, crossing his arms.
"Let's get Angel's brother and the shell out of here," Raph said, jerking his thumb.
"When I opened your cells, they were glowing," Leo explained. "something to do with creature's power," He looks around and saw another glowing pod ahead. "There!" He pointed to it. Everyone ran over to it and Raph opened it up with his sais. Inside was Angel's brother.
"No, don't! She's just a kid." Her brother screamed. Raph placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Give me a hand." He said.
Raph and Leo helped carry and guide Angel's brother. He starts to wake up and looks around confused until he sees the four turtles and three girls. He backs away from them in fear. "What? Who? Who-Who are you?!" He bumps into Donnie and falls to the ground.
"Don't worry, you're hallucinating," Raph said. "We're just a part of a very very weird dream. Now let's get you out of here before-" The cave started to shake as the ceiling began to crumble. "Too late!"
The creature shot it's tentacles at them and the four brothers and three girls jumped out of the way. It grabs Angel's brother, capturing him. Everyone struggled fighting the creature's tentacles. It raises a tentacle high in the air and knocks Raph and Mikey down. They get back up and Donnie was knocked back by a tentacle, crashing right into Venus. Raph and Mikey were knocked back and crashed into Alopex, smacking right into Donnie as well, as he was getting up. Leo jumps up, dodging away from a tentacle and lands near the flaming meteor. He staggers, nearly losing his balance from the edge.
Leo looks to the side and saw the meteor spear lying on the floor next to him, right where he had dropped it. "The meteor spear, " Leo murmured, picking it up. The cave began to shake more violently and the ceiling began to crumble and fall down. The creature emerged from the ground, revealing itself. It looked like a giant scorpion mixed with squid attributes, as well. It's glowing red eye stared down at Leo. Leo held the spear tightly in his hands.
"Feel my power, see my strength. You can't fight me. You cannot win," Leo heard the creature's voice in his mind. "If you serve me, I will give you cities. I will give you power and wealth. I will give you the world," His eyes turned red.
"The world," He said.
"Leo, don't!" Leo heard another voice desperately call out to him. His eyes widen and turn to normal and he quickly turned his head to see Yuuki, well, in spirit form.
He stared at her in surprise. "What are you doing here?!"
Yuuki placed a hand on Leo's shoulder. "I sensed that you were in trouble and it looks like I was right." Leo smiles and turned his head back towards the monster. He raised the spear in the air.
"Sorry, not interested!" He shouted, throwing it into the creature's eye. The creature shrieked as it screamed in pain and began to glow very brightly. Leo shielded his eyes from the light until it diminished and the creature was gone, destroyed. He turned his head to see that Yuuki was gone as well.
The old man groaned as he leaned on the table, wiping off the sweat. "Your friends have done it. They have defeated the beast," He said, falling to the floor, taking off his glasses. "I am free from it's grasp."
"Free?" Angel asked. "What do you mean?"
The old man turned to her. "My.. name...is C.F. Volpehart." he explained. His body began to collapse and slowly turned to dust. Angel backed away in shock. She hears the doors open behind her and sees her brother along with the turtles and three girls.
"Angel?" Her brother asked.
"Ryan! Ryan!" Angel ran up to him, hugging him. "You're okay!"
"They will be, after a nap." Donnie pointed. "and a shower."
"Hey, where's the old dude?" Mikey asked, looking around the room as he walked in.
"You're standing on him," Angel said. Mikey cringes and looked down to see Volpehart's dust underneath his feat.
"Gross, gross, gross!" Mikey screamed in a girly voice, jumping out of the ashes, trying to dust the remains off his feet.
"Come on, let's go home," Donnie said. "I've had more than enough weirdness for a lifetime, let alone one day."
They drive away in the van, leaving the old house, to take Angel and her brother home. They pass a man, wearing glass who walked by a phone booth when it starts to ring. He answered it.
"Hello?"
"Come to me," He hears a voice on the other end. "Serve me and I give you power and wealth. I will give you the world.-" The man interrupted him. "Sorry, but you have the wrong number." and he hangs up the phone, walking away.
Yuuki was in her room doing her homework, when she heard a knock on her window. She looked and saw Leo outside. She ran over and opened it, letting Leo in.
"Leo, what are you doing here? " She asked. Suddenly, Leo pulled her close to him, hugging her tightly.
"I just had to see for myself that you were okay." She heard him say as he buried his face in her shoulder. Yuuki returned Leo's hug and took his hand leading him to her bed, sitting down.
"What happened, Leo?" Yuuki asked.
"I saw Splinter and you. Both of you were dead."
"We're fine, Leo. He's fine, I'm fine. We're both okay." She told him. Yuuki climbed into Leo's lap, sitting on it, facing him.
Leo leaned in and kissed her. Yuuki kissed him back placing her hand on his plastron, pushing him down onto the bed. The two stared into each other's eyes, in anticipation. Both excited and nervous.
That night would forever be treasured in Leo's and Yuuki's memories.
As they both became one...

My issues with Kimi No Na Wa (spoilers)
Last night I saw Kimi No Na Wa, the highest rated anime film ever made. I can’t deny that it’s a masterpiece for what it is, but the direction the story ended up going wasn’t what I expected, and it sort of exemplifies a trend in stories that I don’t like.
First, a brief plot summary. We have a city boy, Taki, and a country girl, Mitsuha. One day, they start switching places, each one’s mind ending up in the other’s body. Each initially dismisses it as a dream but becomes convinced when they hear from friends about “their own” strange behavior the previous day. As this happens over and over again, they leave notes for each other, try to set boundaries, and interfere in each others’ lives. Then, suddenly, it stops. After some searching, Taki realizes that Mitsuha had actually been living three years in his own past, and that she was killed when her town was struck by a meteor. In the climax, he manages to change the timeline and save the town, but in the process both he and Mitsuha forget everything about each other and what had happened.
So, first of all, this twist requires both characters to be completely oblivious. You have cell phones! You have the internet! I wouldn’t be able to a day without realizing that I was in the wrong year, let alone weeks or months. You gave each other phone numbers, but never tried calling them until it was too late? You spent months in another person’s body, but couldn’t recall the name of the town she lived in?
And I think the reason that these glaring flaws can exist is that the writer wasn’t really setting out to write a story exploring the premise of body-swapping, they were setting out to write a litfic magical realist coming of age story with body-swapping as a plot device. Much like how Star Wars isn’t a story about spaceships, it’s an action-adventure story that happens to feature spaceships. The spaceships don’t need to make sense from an engineering perspective the way that they would in, say, The Martian, they just need to help facilitate the storytelling.
And this is all well and good, but we here at multicore-processor happen to really like stories that take their premises seriously and not really like magical realist litfic that wants to throw away the premise at the end and ignore all of its implications and probably pretend that it was all a metaphor for the passions of youth or whatever. And specifically with the premise of body-swapping, every story we’ve seen has been the more the latter and less the former. Every Day used it to tell a story about love not meant to last. Kokoro Connect used it to tell a story about a group of friends coming together in times of hardship. (And both of those stories arguably made more internal sense than Kimi No Na Wa.) Freaky Friday used it for a goofy comedy, but I honestly don’t remember what happened in that movie.
Like, give me a story where the body-swapping just keeps going. Where the characters just settle down and accept that it’s happening, where their system of note-passing gets refined, where they finally meet each other and start living together and restructure their lives around it. Or just, you know, anything that gives the premise a long-form treatment where it remains a central feature of the series.
Take, for example, Ranma 1/2, which explores a different premise, gender-bending. The main character Ranma is cursed by a magic spring to turn into a girl whenever he is exposed to cold water. And, crucially, this remains true over the course of an entire 7-season TV series. The series doesn’t even stay focused on Ranma’s curse - most of the story is about an ever-more-complicated web of unrequited crushes and about combining martial arts with an increasingly unlikely set of activities like tea ceremony - but because the transformation continues to play a role in the stories and the characters generally don’t ignore its possible applications, the series ends up thoroughly exploring what it might be like if you could genderbend.
I dunno, maybe I should have seen the signs and realized that the kind of anime trash that I want would never have gotten 90% reviews and that the stench of litfic was on the air. Still, I can always hope that in the future I’ll find the story I’m looking for.
(If something like what I described exists please let me know.)

The Space Between Us
Fandom: PokeSpe/Pokemon Adventures
Pairing: RubyxSapphire (aka franticshipping/RuSa)
Word Count: 2809
Summary: What would have happened if Rayquaza hadn’t brought Ruby and Sapphire back home to Earth at the end of ORAS? (UA, Sapphire’s POV)
Notes: Hello everyone! So I hadn’t written a fic in years, and I just got this idea randomly one night, so I thought, “hey, why not try and write it out and see what happens?” Yeah, I’m not sorry for the angst again.
(special thanks to these dorks for being my reviewers!! @disnerdpoketrainer @trimystic @blackspies12 @chocochan015 @brindillebon and there might have been a few more if I forgot you let me know I’m sorry but it’s late and I’m tired so I’m just gonna post this now hhhhhhhhh)
A brilliant show of falling meteorites flooded my vision as they descended towards Earth. The sight was so surreal, like a dream that I did not want to wake up from. The feeling was exhilarating, yet terrifying as the shards of space rock hurtled around us. Holding on tightly to Ruby’s hand, I softly gasped as I beheld the magnificent view before me. He was right, despite the danger this was definitely better than the meteor shower show we would have seen at Mossdeep.
After a few minutes, the remainder of the meteorites finally dove towards the Earth’s surface. The horizon cleared, and all that was left in sight was Ruby and myself. I turned towards him when I heard him mutter a soft “Wow” from the radio in my suit’s helmet.
“That was amazin’,” I mused back, unable to think of anything else to describe the spectacle.
Looking back at me, he remarked, “‘Amazing’ is an understatement. That was stunning.”
“‘Amazing’, ‘stunning’, same thing,” I retorted playfully. Ruby chuckled at that, and I followed with a small giggle of my own.
The moments after were silent, except for the sounds of our breathing, so I took that time to really take in our surroundings. Looking out, I can see the Earth, and the Moon if I turn my head a bit, but other than that, nothing. Absolutely nothing, save for the distant stars that speckled the dark blanket of the universe. In that moment, I had realized after all of the strife, battles, heartbreak and anxiety that had led up to this moment, after all of the fast paced action and decisions, it was all over and was now so... eerily quiet. The empty expanse of space suddenly consumed my being, and the frightful feeling of suddenly being entirely alone started to creep up my spine.
Impulsively, I gripped Ruby’s hand tighter. Noticing this, he turned towards me.
“Sapphire?” He tentatively began, “what’s wrong?”
I took a quick glance at him to meet his eyes, then turned back to the great expanse before answering, “Oh, nothing. It’s just… being out here like this, it kinda makes ya feel small, y’know? And there’s literally nothing out here except us... It’s a little scary if you think about it.”
Ruby then firmly gripped my hand and said, “Yeah, I guess with us being the only two people up here like this, it is really unnerving.” A few more seconds of silence passed before he stated. “Well, Sapphire, in that case, are you ready to go home?”
Taking one last glimpse at the Earth, I reply, “Yup, I’m ready to go home, Ruby.”
In unison, we both placed our opposing hands on the Link Cables attached to our suits, and waited to be teleported back to Earth.
…
However, after a few minutes, nothing happened. Alarmed, we both looked at each other in panic as we tried to put our hands over our Link Cables again. After a few more failed attempts, fear started to roll into my core and I began to tremble. I could feel Ruby shaking through his fingers in our joined hands, possibly feeling the same amount of terror that I must be feeling.
A few seconds later, Ruby called out into the radio, “Shoe Maker? Mr. Devon? Can anybody hear me?!”
We listened carefully for any sort of reply, but our cries for help were not heeded. My eyes darted around, searching for an answer as to why our calls were not being answered. I looked at Ruby’s suit, then back at mine, and realization struck me.
“R-Ruby…”
“What is it, Sapphire?’ he frantically replied.
“Our suits…” I muttered, gesturing to his chest.
Ruby looked down, and gasped in shock as he realized what I was referring to. The control panel on his chest, including the Link Cable, was smashed in. I looked down to my own panel, and I saw the destroyed Link Cable sitting there uselessly.
“They must have gotten damaged when that Pokemon from the meteor attacked us,” I mused, not being able to tear my eyes away from the carnage of my panel. My mind spun, trying to think of something, anything, that might be able to get us home. After thinking for a bit, I blurted out, “Wait, where’s Rayquaza?”
We both turned around, searching for the green serpentine-like Pokemon. As time passed, Ruby and I realized it seemed to have vanished, for it was nowhere to be found.
Ruby turned to me and stated, “Maybe since it figured it had finished its role in destroying the meteor and defeating that space Pokemon, it decided to go back…”
In disbelief, I exclaimed, “But didn’t we form a bond with it? What’s that all about then?!”
Ruby looked away from me as he said, “Maybe it was just up until it destroyed the meteor? I don’t know, Sapphire…”
Another pregnant silence fell between us. The pit of my stomach sank as I mumbled, “We’re alone out here then, with no way to get home…”
“There’s got to be something that we can do, there’s got to be a way!” Ruby cried, desperation laced in his voice. “Something…”
I try to think of something, but nothing comes to mind. I am cut out of my thoughts when I hear a sniffle from the radio, so I look over to Ruby. His bangs covered his eyes, and his fingers clutched onto mine.
“Father is going to really be mad at me for making Mom sad, isn't he?” He let out a small, sad chuckle, but immediately after he clenched his teeth. I could tell he trying to be strong.
Feeling my own tears welling up, I look down as I choke out, “It’ll be hard for my dad to live on his own… he's never had to before….”
“And Emerald and everybody else….” Ruby added mournfully.
It became too much to bear that the both of us turned into sobbing messes. I pulled him towards me, and I wrapped my arms around his neck and squeezed, bringing us so close that our helmets bumped together. Ruby reciprocated with a tight grip around my suit around my waist. We just held each other desperately, clinging onto the other person with everything that we had. In this lonely, empty cosmos, we were all that we had left.
Even though our entire worlds were crashing, tumbling down into oblivion right before our eyes, in Ruby’s embrace I felt… safer. I felt as if our little bubble of space could freeze time, and we can stay like this, holding each other forever. Everything stood still for a moment, and an inkling of a thought of us being okay floated in the back of my mind. I found myself believing that as long as we stayed here together, something would present itself and everything would be fixed. I desperately hoped a solution would show itself.
Tightening his hold on me, Ruby sobbed, “I’m so sorry Sapphire, I promised that we would go back to Earth alive, yet…”
“No, don’t apologize Ruby, this isn’t yer fault… I followed ya here myself,” I murmured.
A few more sniffles between us passed before Ruby continued, “Heh, guess this really did turn out to be a self-sacrificing story, huh? Even though I said I would never give up my life for this…”
“Well, if it weren’t for us, everyone would’ve died, Ruby. And if we were gonna die anyways, might as well just be us, not the entire world.”
He hummed in response. Then, a tiny red light started to flash on one of the lights on our arms. A robotic voice cut in, repeating, “Oxygen levels low, oxygen levels low, oxygen levels low…”
Upon hearing that, time stopped. My heart plummeted as I looked into Ruby’s fear-filled eyes. In that moment, we both knew that our fates had been sealed in the message of the lights. Soon the warnings faded away, and we were suddenly thrown back again into harsh reality.
“Looks like we don’t have that much time left…”
Hearing that confirmation from him caused my voice to catch in my throat. I didn’t want to believe it. All that we’ve been through, all of our adventures, all of the time we shared was suddenly going to come to an end. I didn’t want to let all of that go. I wanted to go back home with Ruby, to Emerald, my dad, everyone. I didn’t want to die out here without seeing all of them again!
“Well, since it seems like we’re running out of time…” he started, “I should probably tell you this before it’s too late, Sapphire.”
His gaze pierced straight through me, looking sincerely yet desperately. His breath hitched, as if trying to find the right words to say. Then, after pausing, he says, “Before we… go, I want to tell you that I…,” he took a deep breath in, preparing himself for what he was about to say, “I like you, Sapphire.”
Before I had a chance to react, he shook his head, “W-wait, no. I love you, actually. I really, really do.”
Initially taken aback, my jaw drops. My face goes unbelievably red, but I shake it off. My intuition already kind of saw this coming a while ago. I look back into his eyes and reply, “I know, Ruby”.
Now his face takes on a red hue, and his eyes widen in shock. “You knew?! What do you mean? I’ve never said it to you before.”
The corner of my mouth raises a bit into a smile. “C’mon, the whole ‘I don’t wanna be separated you, so become Lore Keeper with me!’ speech you gave earlier? I kinda figured it out then, ya dork”.
Ruby averts his eyes away from me, clearly embarrassed. I let out a small chuckle, then I add, “But thank you for saying those words Ruby.” My face goes red again, as I consider my words, “A-and, I’ll confess to you again. I love you too, truly. If I were to die with someone, I’m glad I’m with you, until the very end.”
I bury my head into his chest, my cheeks against the rim of my helmet. He places his gloved hand on the top of my helmet, hugging me closer. “I’m glad I got to be with you too, Sapphire.”
Suddenly, another automated voice interrupted us. “Warning: five minutes worth of oxygen remaining.”
The world, or, the universe, is cruel I discovered. I had waited so long to be held by Ruby like this, to finally tell him my true feelings (again) and to live happily ever after. Sure, it’s finally happened, but… I won’t even be able to feel his touch anymore. I won’t be able to intertwine his hands in my own, to run my fingers through his hair, nor would he be able to run his through mine. I won’t be able to caress his cheeks, or lean my head on his chest to hear his heartbeat. Why did we have to confess right here and now, when I won’t even be able to reach him anymore? Why are we finally together now, when we won’t even have that much time left together anyways?
“I-it really stinks…”
“What, Sapphire?”
“I-I mean,” I stuttered, “we won’t be able to feel each other while in these suits…” I gulped, “No matter how much I may want to, we won’t even be able to...”
“To what?”
I splurted, not being able to get the words out right out of sheer embarrassment, “Y-y-you know…”
“Well, what?” Ruby prodded.
“Urghh.. D-don’t make me say it!” I cry out, burying myself into his chest more.
“How do you expect me to know what you're saying if you don't say it? Just say it, Sapphire.”
“To kiss, ya idiot! For goodness sake!”
Heat rushes into my cheeks, and I look down away from his gaze.
“Oh…”
“This is why the universe is so cruel. I really want to kiss you, but I can't… And, we’ll never be able to.” I sniffle, and a tear begin to fall. I make no move to try and hide it, as I know I can't even touch my own face to wipe it away.
Looking down to me, Ruby softly mumbles, “I’d love to kiss you too, Sapphire. Especially to make those tears of yours go away.”
We held each other again, internally lamenting what we couldn't reach. We were so close, yet far from reach. A few minutes later, the dreaded voice returned. “2 minutes of oxygen remaining…”
“You know, Sapphire, we still can. That is, if you want to.” Ruby stated in a low voice.
I released myself from his chest and looked at him in confusion. What did he mean? There was no way we could, since we had helmets in the way. What could he be thinking that could get around that obstacle?
“Whaddya mean? There’s no way we could with our helmets.” I looked into his eyes, searching for an answer to his claim. “The only way we could is if we…” Staring longer into his eyes, I realized what he had meant.
Oh.
I see now.
The idea kinda scared me, I’m not going to lie. I was contemplating it, however. But, was Ruby absolutely certain about that?
“Ruby… are you sure?” I questioned.
“We’re gonna die anyways, so I thought I might as well spend my last moments with you. So yes, I’m sure about it if you are.” Ruby said softly.
He did have a point. We had a little less than 2 minutes of oxygen, and our situation is looking hopeless at this point. Plus, I would probably find myself regretting spending the next few minutes not doing it, which would then turn to never. So I contemplated it for a few seconds, and came to a decision.
“We’re going to need two hands for that,” I stated.
“Oh, just wrap one of your legs around mine. Then when we’re done we can change back to using our hands.” he answered.
Following his suggestion, I intertwined my legs with his, establishing a firm hold on each other so we don’t float away. Giving his eyes a quick glance, we released our hands for the first time since we’ve been thrown out into space. Letting go of his hand made me realize that we were really about to do this, and I became a little scared. However, knowing that I’ll at least get to feel Ruby one more time before departing put my anxious heart a little at ease. I raised both of my hands to my helmet, grasping the base of it.
“Hey Ruby?”
“Hmm?”
“... Just in case you won’t be able to hear me after this, I just want to say that I love you.”
“I love you too, Sapphire, now and always.”
With that, I breathe in one more time, then exhale. I then released my helmet, and the last thing I hear is the pressurized hiss of the remainder of my oxygen dissipate.
Immediately, everything started to hurt. My eyes and mouth felt as if they were boiling, to a point where it was excruciating. My vision began to blur, but I reached my hands for Ruby, and as soon as I felt him I swiftly pulled him towards me. I crashed my lips onto his, trying to cherish every precious second. I felt him placing a hand behind my neck, so I in return cup both of his cheeks with my hands. I bring his face closer to mine, deepening our lip lock. Despite not being able to breathe, fading out of consciousness, and my heartbeat slowing, I didn’t want this moment to end. I wanted to be able to be able to kiss Ruby again after this, I wanted to be able to tell him that I love him again, to maybe go on a date, have a future together. But this kiss is the closest thing I would ever get to any of that.
Feeling weaker by the second, we slowly pull away from each other. I start to get blotchy vision, barely being able to see Ruby’s swollen face. I see him starting to lose consciousness too, trying desperately to hang on just a few seconds more. The pain has become numbing at this point, and I know that our time has almost come. Weakly lowering my swollen, numb hands to his neck, I try and hang onto this feeling for as long as I can.
However, I feel my mind slip back to unconsciousness.
“I’m happy… that we could be together ‘til the last moment…”
I feebly say against his neck, although I’m not sure if he, let alone anyone, could hear me. Then, I fade completely into the darkness.

Like We Used To
For @silent-of-spirit, who is my biggest Fels and Alistair fan, and for @galadrieljones who asked me to help her fall in love with Ali.
Denerim • Royal Quarters • Post-Adamant
Alistair paced nervously in his own room, waiting for her to descend the stairs like she always used to, a flurry of footsteps and jokes. Instead, he heard her quiet bashful footsteps as she walked down the stairs, dressed in a dark red gown, her blonde hair pinned into a sort of half crown on her head. He felt his breath leave his lungs as he took in the sight, one that he had never dreamed of witnessing again.
“You look stunning, Fels,” he whispered, reaching his hand out towards her. She smiled and took his hand, allowing him to lead her down the stairs.
“I feel stunning. It’s been so long since I’ve been in anything but armor, wearing a dress is... strange,” she laughed merrily. “Though it does lace a little tighter than it used to.”
She turned and showed him the back, which had once been strappy to the point of being risqué, now tightly tied in an effort to keep the fabric from slipping down her bony torso. He could just see the tips of the griffon wings peeking out above the collar.
“You still look as beautiful as the first time you wore it,” Alistair sighed, spinning her around carefully into his arms. “I see you got a tattoo?”
“Isabela’s idea. You remember her, right? She thought it ‘stunningly appropriate for a woman of my skills’, if I remember correctly. Had it done in Rivain before I went off the map.” she smiled, though it didn’t reach her eyes. She could see the pain in Alistair’s as she spoke of her adventures, knowing that she had completely broken his heart. “I dreamed of leaving it all behind and coming back here every night,” she whispered, slumping slightly and wandering towards the fire.
“Where all did you go?”
She put her hand on the stone mantle and stared into the flames, as if searching for the answers in the crackling coals. “I’m really not sure. I went north for a while, went to Rivain, went to Weisshaupt and did the official ‘warden-commander’ paperwork. I went farther north then, following old legends, old wives tales about darkspawn. They led me west, and I remember crossing a border to a land I couldn’t find on my maps. I stayed there for a long time, trying to find what I could -trying to find answers. My trail led me south about two years ago, and I crossed the Imperium on foot, still searching. I was just outside of the capital when I heard the Calling.” Alistair walked towards her and hugged her tight. “I was terrified that I would die out there, away from everything that I knew, away from people who understood me. Away from you. So I pressed further south, into Orlais, and laid eyes on the Breach for the first time. I heard tales of the Inquisition, and the gathering force at Adamant, so I went hunting for more clues.”
Alistair pondered silently before speaking up. “Did you find what you were looking for?”
“Yes and no. I found some terrible things, Alistair, some things you don’t want to, and shouldn’t know. I found more questions than answers in the end. I suspect the Inquisition has more answers than I do about the Blight, now. We’ll have to pool our information at some point. I can write a letter to Leliana, I’m sure she’d appreciate it.”
Alistair was suddenly struck with how tired she looked. The fire light cast strange shadows over her face, highlighting creases that he didn’t recognize, hollows and scars that she hadn’t had before she had disappeared. “Maybe when you’ve rested more, Fels. For tonight, I want you to enjoy yourself. Relax.” She responded with a weak smile and turned to sit at the tiny table, which was laden with food.
“So, tell me what’s happened to everyone while I was away! All I know is that Anders is dead after blowing up the Kirkwall Chantry, Leliana’s started the Inquisition, and she has that Templar we rescued back at Kinloch as its Commander?” She bit into an apple that she had picked up, her eyes momentarily rolling up in praise as the tartness popped in her mouth. She hadn’t had apples in years.
“Apparently a certain Lady Morrigan is currently at Skyhold as well, though she refuses to answer my letters,” Alistair laughed, digging into his own plate. “Zevran was last heard of around Kirkwall by this lady named-”
“Hawke. Circinae Hawke,” Felicia finished, popping another chunk of apple into her mouth, eyeing the mistrust on Alistair’s face. “Isabela sent me a letter when I was at Weisshaupt, and gave me Hawke’s information, should I ever need to get something to you. She wasn’t the Champion of Kirkwall at the time, but she was discreet, and was able to indirectly help me out of a lot of scrapes. In return, I fed her any information I came across about red lyrium -which wasn’t much. She was at Adamant with the Inquisitor.”
“Well, she’s making her way towards Weisshaupt now, supposedly in the company of her husband. I don’t know what we’ll hear from that trip,” Alistair muttered, poking at a piece of bread. “As for the others, Oghren is still running a bar with that lady he ran off with and is apparently happier than ever –he named his kid after you, by the way, and she’s almost as devious; no one’s heard from Sten, and Wynne died shortly after you left, Andraste preserve her.”
Felicia shut her eyes and nodded solemnly as she sipped her wine, smiling as she recognized the taste.
“This- uh, this is the vintage from your coronation year, isn’t it?” She asked, faint memories tickling at the edge of her mind of tours of vineyards, and some particularly steamy stolen moments behind a barn.
“I kept a bottle back, for a special occasion. I know it was your favorite,” Alistair mused, sipping his own glass. Felicia flushed slightly, and went back to eating. “I drank the rest of it alone, mostly. When I wanted to forget that you weren’t here. I’m glad I get to end it on a happy note.”
Her hands fell into her lap, twisting her napkin awkwardly. Her voice was thick with emotion. “I’m never going to stop apologizing for leaving, Ali. Never. I should have-”
“Andraste’s tits, Fels! If you’d told me, I would have gone with you, and where would that have gotten us?” Alistair cursed, slamming a hand down on the table. “You did what you had to, I understand that. I mean, I would have appreciated a letter or two, but you did what was necessary, and I forgive you for that. I’m not the bumbling idiot boy you put on the throne ten years ago, I can understand causality.”
His eyebrows furrowed with concern as she pushed away from the table hard with mumbled apologies, and started to walk towards the stairs. He stood up quickly and grabbed her wrist, dragging her back into his arms. “Don’t leave. Please. I’m sorry for that, it was unworthy of me. I was just so scared when you left me here alone. It’s been so heart wrenchingly lonely without you.”
Felicia disengaged her wrist from his hand and leaned up against the wall. “You never married?”
“They tried. Yeah, sure the air-headed ninnies they paraded in front of me could spout hours of Orlesian poetry, but none of them went through rescuing my entire void-ridden kingdom with me, and sat my ass on the throne. None of them were you.” He breathed deeply, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear. “I couldn’t stand them.”
“You even turned down the Inquisitor?” Felicia’s eyebrows raised in skepticism, and Alistair shuddered.
“That woman scares the shit out of me. Inquisitor Grace Trevelyan is made of pure meteor iron, and is as cold blooded to boot. Did you hear what happened at a ball in Orlais? She incinerated a Duchess. Incinerated. Regardless, she wasn’t available at the time anyway, being a mage-hunter and all that. Besides, she’s apparently having quite the time with her Commander,” Alistair laughed, nervous, but still waggling his eyebrows suggestively.
“Really? That poor man we rescued from the tower? Wasn’t he at Kirkwall too? And he’s with a mage?”
“And the bastard King of Fereldan is in love with a Paragon Princess of Orzammar; scandalous, I know,” Alistair laughed, as Felicia blushed bright pink. Her mind ran in a million directions, and she squeezed her eyes shut tight, opening them to find Alistair hovering over her as she pressed her back into the wall, half hoping the stone would open and swallow her up right then.
“Do you mean that?” She whispered, her eyes scared and hopeful, her hands white knuckled as she tried to find purchase on the wall behind her.
“Madaena Felicia Aeducan, I love you, and I have never stopped loving you, no matter the distance between us,” Alistair breathed, bringing a hand up to cradle her chin. “Even when I thought you weren’t coming back, I didn’t stop loving you.”
“Ali, I-”
Any words she was about to say were cut off as Alistair bent down and kissed her. Not with the burning passion of a man who had just reunited with his lost love, or with the emotion of one who had just lost her, but with the measured burn of wanting more. There was a subtle edge to it, almost angry, but grateful at the same time. Felicia’s head was spinning when they finally broke apart.
“I missed that,” she sighed, pressing herself into his chest on tip toe, and kissing along his collarbone. Alistair groaned as he swept her off her feet and carried her over to his bed.
“Sweet Maker, woman. You will be the death of me.”

Punchy-liney episode seven: Clever writing is doing the same thing over and over again and explaining every little bit of it every single time.
Seriously, this is dumb.
So the entire point of the fucking time loop plot is you're supposed to be trying to fight fate, change the future, fight against inevitability, right?? So of course the fucking first thing you need to have is a furry little plot device showing up and telling you you can't change anything except what's arbitrarily allowed, which is... so far nothing, becaue the plot says so and the writers are too god-awful to actually write a scenario where the scenario itself has something working against the main character to make achieving their goal difficult, so we have to have a "because I said so" roadblock shoved in there. FUCK.
So it's just a bunch of Yuuta hanging around going "oy boy wow i sure do remember then this happeninged" and fucking doing nothing of value. Except, you know, doing the same shit we've already seen OVER AND OVER AGAIN!
Yoota gets all fucking upset over writing the stupid fucking pun in the stupid book because it means so muuuuuuuuch- no, it fucking doesn't, you only saw it briefly once just about an hour ago from your point of view and it's some dumb shit anyway. Just draw a bunch of dicks in it.
So this random apartment of grils and their fucking friendships is the most iipootaat thing in the universe? Why? Boy it sure would have been nice if these assholes had been, like, developed into interesting likeable characters during the first half of the show or something, right?? How the fuck's this supposed to stop the fucking meteor
So is the only reason the previous Yuutas have failed because they didn't follow the cat's orders well enough? Not because of any actual challenges but because following instructions is just too damn hard? What the *fuck*?
Yuuta tries to keep his ghost self from blowing up, goes into Ito's room... she immediately goes full retard, not even just over the panty shot but trying to take the door of its fucking hinges just because it wouldn't immediately open. What the fuck? Why are we supposed to like this psycho again? And then he gropes Juicey's juicy tiddies and that doesn't activate his power even though a fucking picture of lil babby pumpkin panties did because why Speaking of plot devices that make no damn sense, how does ghost-Yuuta's quantum ghost time-travel work when someone can see him? Or are we just going to ignore that plot hole because now-Yuuta saved ghost-Yuuta from blowing his top all of once? And why did he even bother to try and save ghost-him? He knows there's no point... unless the way the quantum bullshit works means he'd actually get the meteoric bad end his ghost self could just go back from, BUT IF THAT WAS THE CASE THEN HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN ON THE ROOF AT THE END OF EPISODE SIX... GUIGSUUESIUUUEUEEUUURRRRRRRRRFGGHFGGFFGFh
And then suddenly becoming Ubermensch Aryan why the fuck did they call it that anyway just fucking inexplicably changes the way your soul is attached to your body in some overly complicated way that's just explained to the audience in way too much dialogue, because the plot of this show was written without any mind to actual coherency and we have to explain how the one thing happened one way one time and another way the other time so we have to add in ad-hoc """explanations""" later on and pretend it's all really genius. Better yet with the body swap reveal coming up at some point they could have just handwaved this somehow for now and had it later turn out that event left Yuuta's soul (as well as Juice-tan and the other one) less well-attached to the body it's currently in than a normal person's. YOU KNOW, SOME MOTHER FUCKING FORESHADOWING.
Oh, actually just kidding. I paused the episode to write that and something dumb happened immediately after I hit play
"Don't you remember, that one time you switched bodies with a bunch of your closest friends you never saw again after that?" You'd think someone, anyone, would have fucking mentioned this before, or fucking alluded to it, or the mere fact of its factuality would have exerted some influence on the events that followed from it... but no, not really. Just, fucking... casually remember that one time something fucking extraordinary happened that has a huge impact on the plot that we haven't even mentioned up until now. Ha ha.
NO, DON'T FUCKING EXPLAIN THE FUCKING SIMPLE OBVIOUS THING THE MAIN CHARACTER JUST DEMONSTRATED HE FUCKING REMEMBERS ANYWAY LIKE IT'S ANYTHING FUCKING INTERESTING AT ALL WHILE MAKING IT SOUND ACTUALLY COMLPICATED. You know what fucking happened here? All that fucking happened is the writers made a fucking Excel spreadsheet, right, they filled in three fucking rows of the sheet with the kids' names, and then they fucking... rotated... the list... once........... HOW CAN THIS BE SO FUCKING BAD???? This isn't the slightest bit complicated aside from the overwrought bullshit surrounding and enabling it while obfuscating the gaping plot holes that exist in what the writers want to do... because, I don't know, they're too fucking hackish to rework their simplistic fucking immediate ideas to work with a coherent underpinning. The fucking reveal was these three kids who we know little to nothing about and have NO FUCKING REASON TO CARE ABOUT got their souls shuffled around in a fucking obvious fashion (because there's only three of them and there's only two ways it could have possibly come out), and that's... it. That's... really fucking boring as your ultimate plot reveal. This is not worth all the fucking convoluted fucking shit that was required to justify it.
Like, here, let me just make this immediately better: Juice-tan is wimpy girl in pink-haired girl's body, the other one is pink-haired girl in the one guy's body- yeah, we leave those alone- but the trick is, Yuuta isn't Pine (what the fuck sort of name is pine anyway by the way) but some random blank-slate or even non-human soul that got succed into the wimpy girl's body when the crash happened. And the first thing that soul saw was the newly minted Juice-tan, who was traumatised and amnesiac due to what just happened and thus didn't recognise this used to be her body, leaning over (him/her/zip/zoom) and going all "are you okay??"... and thus the first character trait Yuuta develops is being in love with this girl. And Pine is the cat or something. NOW FUCKING LOOK AT THIS SHIT. You just fucking develop the three kids as close-knit frienbs (though that would help no matter what the plot was), then you have this tragedy where the group can never get back together again, one of them's gone and another's a psycho villain, but despite this the remaining member finds new love in an unexpected place or something.
And yeah, it really just was a random fucking car accident that caused this, except the car also got struck by lightning! Why'd they all go Uber at that time anyway? Was the car they were taking an Uber service?
8: oh boy more same thign oh wow yuuta didn't even go into the apartment to find pantsu he just went in there for no fucking reason and H-A-P-P-E-N-E-D to find them wow such good much writing w o w
is the villain's fucking "you wouldn't unerstaaaaand" plot just a muh next stage of human evolution plot? fuckin seriously? this is some fucking baby shit. this is babby's first villainous motive. this show doesn't fucking deserve to be compared to Higurashi with this shit
oh look more fucking tragic robot girl flashbacks and she repeats the thing about making gril a superhero and a superhero organisation with only one member that we've already fucking heard but now it's sad tn: "punch" means "five" in hindu
Turns out Yuuta casually broke a man's limbs offscreen, because even men with vaginas randomly turn into fucking psychopaths when le cutey gril is in danger. Also breaking a man's limbs your damn self is okay but just two people dying who you don't even fucking know and who nobody you know likes is just sooooooooo baaaaaaaaaaddd And then they try to play up the cat as sooo evil for saying "two lives are less important than seven billion!!" when... Yuuta just broke a man's limbs with his own damn hands... jesus christ
epitoad 9: "why did you keep this to yourself all this time, Pine?" "lol idek" Juice-tan and Yuuta have an """emotional""" reconnection where he tells her something he knew all this fucking time and could have said whenthefuckever he felt like it but just didn't feel like it I guess so now yuuta can just try really hard not to instantly cum when he sees a panties and it just somehow works now. as if we needed this to make any less sense. yuuta goes and talks to a random bunch of leading physics-cists and they actually give him the time of day for whatever reason. all to know nuke bombs don't work in space. just look that shit up online dumbass
... It's amazing how much more pathetic some of these scenes are from the "proper" angle. Yuuta in his dumbass superhero costume just creeping on the roof IN PLAIN FUCKING SIGHT OF EVERYONE IF THEY'D JUST HAPPENED TO LOOK UP, and when the time comes he doesn't even jump into action or anything, he just stands up. It's so fucking WEAK. But it's clebverrrr because we did the thing where we watched him watch himself do the thign n now he do the thign we watched him watched himself do right ?????
More of our beloved hero being psychopathic and literally torturing a man by breaking his fingers and interrogating him... jesus fuck.
epipoo 10: how the fuck did yuuta survive and get back to the apartment
So it turn out, everything in this show could have been fixed by just tearing that little bit of tech off the satelight dish so the server hack isn't intercepted... just tell the current ghost-yuuta to tear the damn thing off the satelite dish the day beforehand next time for fuck's sake... but noooooo, saving the world is just so fucking hard wow
no one cares about these fucking kids and their dumb pseudo-romances. guriko or whichever the fuc the brunette was was a whiny little bitch. She gets into a screaming-crying match with the other girl over some toy, sits there and screams about it, then when Pine notices she hurt herself (or the other girl hurt her) in the fight and tries to help, she screams at him and demands the other girl come back and help her instead. Holy shit.
"originally it was supposed to be-" You see how fucking boring this shit is? We know exactly how the three of them swapped bodies, but you have to have Mr. Creepy McFuckNuts tell us this shit all over again like it's something that's just sooo hard to grasp when it's... so fucking simple... and it's not even in a way that gives his, her, its or zgeir'z unique perspective on it (like "I'm supposed to be in your body, but instead I'm..."), it's just... the fucking list.
chiyoo throws yuuta who she just found out was her long-lost friend pine into a fucking statue and has the gall to cry about "muh precious frienb!!" over ito... I feel like I'm watching that Diverisy and Comics video about Kim and Kim again. That's what this feels like. meanwhile gurio goes through the five stage of anime angst in like an instant. "I have so much power! But... I'm so lonely..... :'(" "the guriko i love!!!!!" she cries over someone all we've seen of them recently is them being a whiny little bitch and then yuuta goes fucking insane and destroys his room. and then has a bunch of le emotional flashbacks over characters we don't care about who have been demonstrated to be violent and uncaring toward him. lol. this is so fucking dumb
AND THEN WE'RE ALL REVED UP TO DO THE EXACT. SAME. FUCKING. THING. FUCKING AGAIN. Just.. what the fuck is Yuuta actually supposed to *do* about any of this? If he just broke the robot girl's computer or took the interceptor thing off the satelite dish everything would be fine, but he's not allowed to do that because... reasons.......????? So what the fuck is he supposed to do? What *sequence of events* is supposed to lead to the probem being over when he's not allowed to just... fucking... solve the probem??
Well whatever it is, I'm sure it's convoluted, retarded and utterly nonsensical. Everyone responsible for this shitshow needs to be fucking euthanized, for the good of humanity.

Defenders of Aura - A Battle Century G Campaign Diary
Apologies for the wait. Severe writer's block combined with IRL factors to making writing this nearly impossible. Session 12 The session begins as the explosion blasts through the wormhole. Thankfully, Fiare is able to block the explosion and close the portal but is injured as a result. She gets rushed to the medbay. We are met by an Auran general who takes us to the bridge of the Argo. There we meet up with Eric again, who is now the Captain of the Argo. The ship was the target of a takeover attempt by the Chinese forces, but Eric and a few allies were able to fight them off and keep control. With the previous captain killed in the attack, Eric took over to try and keep order. We discuss our options. Fiona reveals that she's spent a lot of money on construction robots for her family's company that could be retrofitted as combat droids to aid us. Sadly these are on the Carl Reichenbach Station, which is currently blockaded by Chinese ships. These droids also don't have AI yet, only Sinclair's is available to copy, and he's not combat ready. While we're talking, news comes in from Neovara. The explosion was far larger than we expected it to be. While blowing up the munitions should have only destroyed the army base, it seems that the blast has leveled several buildings in the capital including a couple of skyscrapers. Our assumption is that Adam had fitted his mech with a powerful self-destruct mechanism that triggered when the base exploded. As we are reeling from this horror, General Aishi contacts us. She blames us for the destruction caused and labels us terrorists. She claims that her people wanted a peaceful solution and that they were only here because our president was making deals for the biofuel with Camelot behind their backs. We're pretty sure this is garbage but we aren't really in a mood or position to argue, so we just cut the feed. We're feeling bad but Adam is still on the loose and he is our priority. Eric tells us that we only have limited time before the invaders discover our location so we need to narrow our search as soon as possible. Sara Wong's last known location was Vasoon so we start there. There was a base of some kind there but it seems empty now. Sinclair thinks back to Adam's journal and his talk of dispersing the biofuel. Cross referencing this with fault lines under the planet eventually leads to the Apple Core. The Apple Core was the nickname given to the rocky core of the planet which stretches from pole to pole (with the rest effectively being soft rock and water). A meteor impact thousands of years ago was thought to have occured at the north pole which caused a series of fault lines that travel through the planet's core. There's an abandonded research base at the pole and it seems like the most likely place for Adam's plan to work. We head there immediately. The main research building is built into the side of a mountain, with more buildings surrounding the entrance all encircled by a heavy wall. Scans of the area reveal movement of large lifeforms similiar to the organic mech we fought in Varrel. We land a distance away from the facility and sneak up (or at least as sneakily as we can in our giant robots). Thankfully there is a heavy snowstorm reducing vision and giving us cover. Unfortunately there is a heavy snowstorm reducing vision, meaning we can't see the enemy either. As we get to the outer walls of the facility, we detect a lifeform guarding the gates, and a further two somewhere inside. We begin by leaping over the wall and performing a pincer maneuveur on the guard, taking it down with focus fire. This goes much better than the previous battle since we all have our mechs from the start. The creature begins to regenerate so we make sure to decapitate it, but the noise from the battle has attracted attention. Ax uses his rocket launcher to blast a building at the other end of the facility, drawing the monsters' attentions and we use the distration to head to the main base. The base is empty, though the power is on. There's an elevator going down a large mineshaft in the centre of the building. If Adam is here, that's where he'll be. It's too small for the mechs, however, so we descend on foot. At the bottom of the mineshaft we see a strange sight: This place looks like the Naul ship that we were invited to out near planet Myranda. It looks older but it's definitely in the same style. There are several interface consoles around but none of them seem to work. Maybe the "meteor" that struck Aura was actually this ship? We make our way to the bridge where Adam is waiting for us. There's some kind of large reactor here with a shield around it. Adam grins at us and launches into a villain speech about becoming a god by exploding the reactor to break open the faults and release biofuel into the atmosphere. He also tells us that those monsters we fought are contructed from the remains of the people he absorbed. Ax suggests to Sinclair that he use his wormhole power to send the reactor into space, preferably onto one of the Chinese warships. Sinclair attempts it, but the spell fails. The reactor is protected by a forcefield and also by Adam's smugness. There's a console that appears to be linked to the reactor but Adam is in our way. Time to fight. Those of us with guns open fire, while Ax uses his fire magic. Adam shrugs off most of the attacks or simply regenerates the damage dealt. While Adam is distracted, Fiona and Sinclair rush for the console, but attempting to interface with it (no wireless) shocks Sinclair quite badly. The fight continues and Juyon and Ax get some good hits on Adam. Ax gets a high result on his magic check and literally turns into a being of fire to combat Adam. Adam vanishes in response and we are suddenly surrounded by huge fireballs in the shape of his face. The faces attack, though we manage to avoid most of the damage. The fire damages the control console defence and Fiona and Sinclair are able to bring down the shield. Ax turns his magic to disabling the reactor, which Sinclair aids him with. The sheer power radiating from the machine restricts us. Just as we're struggling to switch off the machine and Adam is rounding on us, Sara Wong teleports onto the bridge. She aids us with her own power and the reactor ceases overloading. Adam: I should have killed you sooner, Sara. I'll deal with you eventually, but first I will kill these fools! Sara: Be my guest *vanishes* Us: ... Adam then... begins to grow. And glow. Is he self-destructing!? We decide to get outta there, all except for Ax who insists on staying behind to try and contain Adam. We get to the top of the elevator and try to figure out what to do. Ax's mech vanishes. We hope this is a good sign. We decide to set some charges and collapse the mineshaft. We don't want to leave Ax down there, but if Adam does explode, we need to try and mitigate tha damage. As we escape the exploding mineshaft, we see that the area outside is a warzone, with Chinese mech troops taking on Adam's monsters. There's an explosion from the base as the shaft collapses. A shape is thrown out and lands not too far from us. It's Ax's mech. Which is on fire. Probably a good sign. And rising up from the wreckage is a huge form that looks like Godzilla but made of smoke and ash. Hello again, Adam. We decide it's time to finish him off once and for all so it's time for our ultimate ability: The Synchro Attack. This requires all of us to use our actions for the turn but grants one character (in this case Fiona) a huge boost to attack power for each player for one turn. Ax and Spectre open fire with their weapons, Juyon slices Adamzilla's arms off, and Sinclair overloads his own reactor for a huge laser weapon, disintergrating the smoke armour, leaving only a small and scared looking man left. Fiona raises her sword and strikes Adam down into the ground. Sara appears again, in her own mech. Adam: I... suppose it's only right... that it be you... who finished me off. Sara: I would love nothing more, but I can think of someone who deserves that right more than me. The monsters turn towards Adam, his weakened form no longer able to control them, and they tear him apart. Once he is dead, the creatures too, fall down. We've won. Adam is defeated and the world is saved. In one way, at least. The Chinese forces surround us, General Aishi steps forward. Aishi: You've done a good thing here by defeating that madman. But you are still criminals. We offer you a deal: Surrender peacefully and we will be lenient. Us: Oh, come on! We get a transmission from Eric with coordinates to the Argo. Sinclair opens a wormhole for the group and sends a transmission to the General which contains only a link to ascending_shark.mp4. However, as the group escapes, Sara Wong's mech pounces and pins Ax to the ground. We try to reach him but the Chinese forces have opened fire and we get cut off. Ax tells us to go on without him (again). Fiona: What is with you and trying to sacrifice yourself today? We escape through the portal to the ship and proceed to leave Auran airspace. Eric delivers us the bad news: We've lost. The Auran leaders have surrendered to the Chinese. So now we're fugitives from our own planet. Great. Our options are slim. Camelot is our best bet for safety. But in order to get there without being caught by the enemy, we're going to take a serious risk: We're going through dark space, the area owned by the mysterious and powerful Deitus. Session ends. I do hope people are still wanting to read this. Bonus quotes: http://www.giantitp.com/forums/shows...postcount=1340
