#messydelicious [apropos of nothing & everything] : gelato memories🍦 pistacchio e nocciola remain my flavor combo of choice. on my first & last day in ischia this past june, i sat in the nearly empty square & mumbled “mmm” out loud / “thank you” silently to myself as i did my best to consciously consume this italian gift. gelato reminds me to embrace life, to let things get a little messy sometimes, to be fully in the moment & love up on yourself as much as possible. what’s your fav ice cream combo & present moment practice? a [more] sustainable tip: opt out of disposable cups / plastic spoons & either bring your own, or grab a cone. take good care of your Selves & each other, xo s 📷: @icedaluciano ischia, italia / june 2021. #messydelicious: swipe for top croissant content. i eat mainly for health, but as @zachbushmd mentioned in one of his educational website videos [go forth], pleasure is a huge part of nourishing ourselves — especially when we can share the experience with others [even if virtually for now]. i also eat for the health of the planet & do my best to choose responsible brands / products / producers that source & create with the earth & its inhabitants in mind. so instead of food shaming ourselves or croissants, i propose we take a deeper look at why we eat & how it affects our minds, our bodies, & our planet. instead of blaming gluten or dairy [etc] as the enemy, why don't we take a deeper look at the root of the problems many of us face & why our innate immune system is responding in detrimental ways to our body due to the detrimental ways many of us have treated nature in the past? food for thought... merci @farineo pour les meilleures produits bio! how can you eat for mind-body-planet nourishment? spread the health ✌🏻✌🏼✌🏽✌🏾✌🏿 (at Paris, France) https://www.instagram.com/p/CL450zXD7E2/?igshid=1vh1zgc046ehp

#messydelicious memories: lucia’s vegetarian zucchini carbonara [as sacrilegious as this is for italians — she made an exception for her non-meet eating americani expat guest]. recipe on sashayogawellness.com 🍝 paired with a generous pour of local sardinian cannanau red wine. we spoke about food a lot during my trip, & so she declared that we would be cooking this together with that typical italian conviction where you wouldn’t dare refuse the offer [& why would one refuse a homemade italian meal?]. i discovered the secret to carbonara — nutmeg! — which i was reluctant to share, as though this precious tip should be kept safely locked away for those who don’t already know it. but in true italian & yogic fashion, i feel that good things should be shared for the benefit of all. no need for fake meat here — use shredded zucchini, don’t forget the nutmeg, & go forth. spread the health ✌🏻✌🏼✌🏽✌🏾✌🏽 (at Cagliari, Italy) https://www.instagram.com/p/CF7RUpeDTo_/?igshid=l9xhsf58d9rx
