the genshin portrait color is because purple is 4-star vs gold is 5-star

Apparently! Since Genshin only has two rarities for characters and it’s totally meaningless, I forgot this distinction existed. 

It was explained to me in chat that the rarity colors go like this: 

5star = yellow 

4star = purple 

3star = blue 

2star = green 

1star = brown

This is so stupid?? green > blue > purple is rainbow, ok, but then yellow?! Yellow should come before green, you idiots...

@mewtini83 thank you both, it’s incredible to me that there’s actual... Interest in this, and it’s spurred me into action and I’m now laying down the groundwork to start writing this in earnest. 

in this version of events, after being forced to sell Suibian because of [spoilers redacted], WWX runs off and basically works for/with the Wen on their little ranch in the middle of nowhere, trick riding but also leading tourists on shitty trail rides to make the ranch money. Wen Qing does hippotherapy, because of course she does, and Wen Ning helps out.

As for JC and his gang of beautiful horses with lotus-themed tacks, someone suggested eventing, and I love that a whole lot. Attempt the impossible by combining literally every single discipline into one, and all that. @piyo-13 had an amazing idea about Zidian actually having been Madame Yu’s horse, and coming from a long-ass line of Zidians, very high pedigree eventers. Sandu’s the horse JC has been riding since he was a tween, probably, and has been through a lot with him, including but not limited to the Gusu dressage summer seminars - because it really does all go back to dressage, my friends, and it’s where all our form-fitting-jodhpur-clad ensemble all met for the first time!
