Next meme vote should be Grima. Let me explain, he's 40th in this one from 68th and ranked above Reinhart, but he's not in the top 20 males and while a lot of reddit says that means IS sees Grima as female (when in his game he has a male voice and Lucina calls him "he"?) I say that means IS doesn't see the dragon has having a gender until he's tied to a Robin and due to that pretty sure Grima is our highest nonbinary option I'm of the option top male and female is outdated and frankly while I don't want Grima to get a brave I would love to vote him even higher than 20th to where IS has to have male/female/neither male or female as an option, I don't know how they'd do it however but it's not cool he's in the top 40 and ignored due to no gender to rank him with. We have the risk of him getting too high and us getting more than likely another sexy FGrima alt which I do not want (it's MGrima's turn anyway), I want the dragon; the non conforming to gender dragon and I think getting him in the top 10 would force IS to consider nonbinary options better because I think we have about 5 or 6 of them. Yes they never rank high enough but they COULD and Grima is proof of that

I would be down to see a full NB vote just to see what the fuck IS would do, but in the mean time, Grima would be the most likely candidate, and I do think they're fun. So if I'm not voting hard for one character in particular next year, I'll throw a vote their way.

You're the only person I follow who really cares at all about FEH so sorry about this but whyyyy is MGrima the demote of this banner?? It's Grima and FGrima is like super premium like all units anymore. They really could have just made a no demote banner and it would have been annoying but it would have been less dumb. Like I get that they couldn't have the rearmed or attuned units as the demote but come ON.

To (not) answer your question, I have no idea :( I guess a choice had to be made, but who knows why it was this one. As you've said, there would have been complaints no matter what. It is annoying especially when it happens to characters you like. Meanwhile they just won't demote some other units, and I don't get why either.

But reading your tags I agree and that's why FGrima doesn't exist in this house, MGrima gets some lore and is treated as a threat while FGrima exists to be sexy lady. There was this post I saw a long time ago that compared to two and wow. I will never not be mad about this.

There’s a couple reasons IS pushes MChrobin and not FChrobin

1) MRobin like FCorrin is the more popular version therefore he gets more focus, they are balancing a lot better now however and I suspect FRobin is getting a wedding alt next year

2) FRobin well…FGrima now exists to sell fanservice alts to cater to the straight male base, that rearmed one is disgusting we probably will get an MGrima version in the future that won’t be as sexual similar to the differences between their Halloween alts driving this point even further. Personally I think FRobin should get a real legendary now that MRobin did or an ascendent with her grandmaster outfit it’s not very fair they’d rather fanservice her first but alas

3) And this is the biggest reason FChrobin is a M/F pairing. they can tease M/M all they want because it means less than any M/F pairing to them. I guarantee that’s how they see it after all M/M can never be canon and it’s “safer” to focus on. By virtue of being a heterosexual ship FRobin can’t get the same treatment. Which frankly is stupid but I’m not going to deny it’s a huge reason either, I’d say it’s pretty obvious.

Finally this is just a guess but I think IS knows how popular Chrobin is and they’re just baiting people because it sells another form of fanservice more want Robin tied to Chrom for their ship then want him to be his own person and they go hard for that

Oh, I totally get all these points--you bring up good ones. They also have to be careful not to "canonize" Lucina's mother (even if they can use the excuse of it being only in one timeline).

All the same, I just get annoyed when I see so much favoritism on the whole. It's a reason why I got tired of fCorrin, for example. I try not to be so bothered by it but I can't help it.

When you say you have avatar preferences are you another one of those who only like the female versions? Do you like any of the male versions more?

Generally due to female characters having more fun designs I tend to be drawn to female characters yes, I like Precure and Madoka Magica for example, mahou shojo costumes are so fun, frilly and intricate. But I also have preferences of course so let's see

-FAlear over MAlear by a lot, this is going to sound silly but I don't like his clown pants that said he's still Alear I just prefer FAlear

-I like MByleth and FByleth about the same, though I will say I highly prefer MByleth's outfit over...whatever outfit FByleth is wearing what may be surprising is I prefer them with the mint green hair over the blue. Shez I have no preference I didn't like 3 Hopes

-FCorrin is up there with FAlear my dragon girls who I will cherish and adore, maybe I have a type. Love that her figure is Nohr noble too great outfit. MCorrin is probably my least favorite of the avatars I don't like his hair and I from official material associate him with Hoshido and I prefer Nohr which also doesn't help the poor guy Now here's where it gets fun, there is one male version I do prefer. MRobin over FRobin slightly. I adore them both but have a slight preference for MRobin, he's up there with FCorrin and FAlear. Grima though I only like MGrima, FGrima is too sexualized by FEH and it bothers me :( I've read a couple of things that tell me I'm not alone in that view however

Oh I almost forgot Kris, like Shez no preference so to put it into a list

FAlear/FCorrin/MRobin > FRobin> MByleth and FByleth > MAlear > MShez and FShez > MKris and FKris >MCorrin

Which would equal out to a slight female avatar preference

My guess is they have the MGrima ready to go and will release this year that is already in Validar's outfit (like FGrima) so it'd be redundant to put Robin in it too; either another rearmed stone or mythic but it exists I'm sure of it. The fact they had to put effort in and make up an outfit for Robin proves that to me, the Validar outfit was the easy way out

Wrt Grima isn’t just because he’s Robin? Pretty sure no one would care about him otherwise Anankos has his own body and Grima shares his (or actually is depending on who you ask) Robin a very popular character and the most favorable Avatar both in and outside of the fe base. Heroes knew this and ran with it hard, fleshing him out I don’t think it’s that shocking his popularity sky rocketed. And then you have the sexy evil Robin is hot crowd. The artists know this too with MGrima being one of the only male characters to get some fanservice, it’ll never be the level of female fanservice (I agree with the FGrima person) and that’s an argument for another day but tldr feh knows what it’s doing.

Title: Cracking the Shell

Pairing: M!Grima x reader

“Argh! Forget this!” You heard a loud growl and what you assumed to be something breaking from outside the hall. Surprised, you ran to the origin of the sound, only to find Grima pouting childishly while paint and egg yolk were splattered across the table and floor.

“What happened? What did you do?” You cried, tears prickling your eyes at the thought of trying to clean the stains on the royal Askran carpet. Of all the things he could’ve thrown, it just had to be those.

“Mr. Grima got upset he couldn’t paint the egg.” Fae winced slightly as she looked at the mess before continuing to paint with her paintbrush.

“Of course I can paint an egg! A blind fool could!” Grima retorted, a red blush bursting on his cheeks.

“Summoner, he was struggling. This is the fifth egg he cracked.” Veronica added, dryly gazing at you before she went back to her work.

“Fifth? Oh my god, the mess...” You shook your head and sighed, looking at Grima with slight disappointment. “Just...Grima, please clean this up.” 

He huffed and murmured some choice words under his breath before he looked for any cleaning supplies. In the mean time, you looked at the children gathered in a circle, their eggs still in the process of drying or being decorated. 

“How pretty! These are wonderful!” You cooed, and the children smiled widely and thanked you. 

“Summoner! Summoner! Can we go hide the eggs now?” Fae jumped. 

“Of course! I’ll take the eggs and hide them, so just wait here until I come back. No peeking, Veronica, if anyone tries to peak, they’re out.” You pointed at the Emblian princess, and she nodded. You wanted to hug her, especially with her cute bunny attire on. 

You picked up the basket of eggs and ran out of the room, quickly trying to find suitable hiding spaces. 

One inside the flower pot near the hall, one on top of a statue of a knight, and even one next to a portrait of Gustav. You turned around and fell backwards, the force of whatever you pumped into sending some of the eggs toppling over. 

“Damn it, I’m not cleaning up that one.” 

“Grima?” You asked, looking up to see the white-haired male glaring down at you with ruby red eyes. 

“Who else would it be?” He growled, and handed you the mop he just finished using. “Heh, you might need this.” 

The smirk on his face did not go unnoticed by you, and you shook your head as you grabbed it. 

“Oh man, now the kids are gonna be so upset. The eggs are all ruined.” You sighed. 

“And? Who cares? Just replace them.” Grima shrugged. 

“It’s not that simple!” 

“Yes it is, in fact, I can do it right now. Not that I would.” 

“No, those eggs were painted by them. They worked so hard on them and now they’re all ruined.” You sadly mopped up the cracked eggshells and yolk, and Grima rolled his eyes. 

“Give me a break. There’s no use shrieking like a banshee over eggs. They would just break them anyway.” Grima exclaimed. 

“But it’s important for now. The eggs are an important part of Easter.” 

“Why? They don’t anything.” 

“They make people happy.” 

“Please. How does an egg make people happy?” He guffawed. 

“Like this.” You rummaged through your basket and pulled out one that you had painted earlier today, and he stared at in confusion. 

“And...?” 

“I’ll hide it, and you can try to look for it.” You offered, and he debated it for a moment. 

“Fine. Then it’ll teach you that these trivial things mean nothing.” He retorted. 

“And if you’re wrong?” You rose an eyebrow and a devilish smile formed on your lips.

“Then I’ll wear that stupid bunny hat you tried to attack me with earlier.” 

“Oh, good. I can’t wait to see you in the widdle bunny ears~.” You chuckled, and he growled again. 

“Don’t act so haughty mortal, I’ll show you that your stupid traditions mean nothing.” 

“Okay then, go wait with the children, and I’ll hide it.” You pointed to the direction of the room and he slumped his shoulders in annoyance. 

Oh, this was going to be too good.

The kids had slowly started to find more of the eggs, and Grima was angrily huffing and cursing you trying to find that one egg. 

One darn egg. It wasn’t supposed to be this hard. 

“You! Gimme your basket!” Grima ordered, before he snatched Fae’s basket and looked at her eggs. “By Naga where the hell is it?” 

“Mr. Grima, what are you doing-” Fae began before Grima stomped away from her. 

“Summoner! I’ll have your head for this! How dare you make a fool of me?” His angered voice echoed in the hallway. 

“I didn’t do anything, Grima. Do you give up?” You smirked. 

“Absolutely not.”

“Grima...you’ve been at this all day. Just give up!” You yelled. 

“Never! I will not! I will find your damn egg!” He threw a bunch of books of the shelf and you hurriedly try to pick them up. It seemed both of you had forgotten the original goal of the egg hunt. 

“Grima.” You whined. “I want to go to bed, please, just give surrender.” 

“No! I will not!” 

“Who cares about the egg now, you ruined the whole game!” You exclaimed. 

“Me? I’m just doing what you said!” 

“No, egg hunts aren’t supposed to be wars, Grima! You’ve made such a big mess everywhere, and you’ve been too damn prideful to admit you don’t know what you’re doing! God, I wanted to teach you a lesson, but I didn’t think you’d be this stubborn!” You lectured. 

“What? Maybe if you didn’t-” 

“You want the egg?” You cut him off. “Take it.” You grabbed it from your pocket and handed it to him, turning around and preparing to walk out. “Goodnight Grima, happy Easter.” You bitterly waved. 

He looked at the egg, and then back to your retreating form. Before, he didn’t notice the design too much, too caught up in the adrenaline and need to prove himself. But now, as it rested gently in his hand, he noticed that you had painted a symbol on it. 

His mark. 

He gazed at it before he looked again back at you. You were thinking of him the whole time, even during the game. 

“Wait.” He commanded, and you stopped. “Why did you paint this?” 

“Guess.” 

“Stop. No more mind games, (Y/n). I want answers.” You gasped. He used your name. It was a rarity for him to do that, despite you having known each other for a few years now. 

“Heh. I think you already know why, Grima.” You blushed, smiling at him. 

“I...I want to hear you say it.” You could’ve sworn his cheeks turned slightly pink as he avoided your gaze and stared at the egg once more. 

“Grima, I love you. I love you a lot. Even when you act like you know everything, even when you destroy everything in your path, and even when you pretend to not care for anyone. I love everything about you.” You admitted. 

This time, he was the one who got flustered and cupped the egg close to his chest. 

“You...what the heck are you doing to me? Why must you overtake my thoughts every time?” He grumbled. 

“You already know why.” 

“Yes and...” He sighed loudly before sinking to the floor. “I...don’t hate this feeling.” You sat next to him and lightly wrapped your arms around him. 

“So, then what do you think we should do?” You asked him. 

“We should remain as one. That is what lovers do, correct?” 

“Yes. I can’t believe it took you this long to see that I liked you.” You teased, and he mumbled how you were bugging him. 

“I love you, Grima.” you snuggled into his embrace and he rested his chin on top of your head. 

“Remember this day, (Y/n). This is the day I made you mine.” Grima responded. You laughed and shook your head and he gulped. 

“I love you too, (Y/n).” He whispered, a sentence meant for your ears only. 

To think, it all started because of an egg.

Voting Gauntlet Aftermath 2 starring Grima

     A large grin painted Grima’s face as he towered over the woman beneath him. 

“See worm, even those of full dragon blood will fall to the Breath of Ruin.”

     His six eyes, all now opened to show a glimpse of his truest form, bore into Idunn. Though there was no emotion on her face, for the first time in her existence, there was fear in her heart. As a referee called him as the victor and his prey scurried away, Grima scanned the crowd. There were many faces he could recognize, that of the annoyances Lucina and Chrom, as well as a female version of his host. However, there was one face in particular that he could not find: yours. However, maybe people had begun to leave already, and he had hoped that you were waiting outside the arena for him. Every night since the gualntlet began, he had fantasized about what sort of present he would receive as a congratulations from you. 

     As he exited, the stadium he saw you far out beyond the crowd of people with some bags in your hand. He practically ran to your side eager to her your praise. You noticed the white hared man approaching and greeted him.

“Ah Grima, how are you,” you called with a sweet smile on your face. That soft expression moved him in a way he could not express in words, but he knew that only you could make him feel this way. 

“Quite well, Summoner. Crushing the other worms beneath my feet always brings a smile to my face. Victory was mine the moment I took the field. No one else could ever compare.”

     He watched as your lips parted, each beat of his heart sounding louder in his head. Perhaps you would then lean in to offer him a kiss as a reward for his performance. His heart sang until you spoke.

“Oh no, I’m so sorry. I totally forgot that the last round was today. I had been out shopping with Surtr all morning, and we only got back a few minutes ago. Supplies needed restocking, and he offered to help.”

       His shoulders drooped a bit and his expression turned blank. Not only had you not watch him fight for your honor, you had been dawdling around with a man who he had defeated in the first round. Had you truly forgotten or had he stolen you away? Before he even had a chance to ask, you started to leave.

“Actually that reminds me, I need to go make sure that things are going well in the kitchens. Congratulations, Grima! I hope you had fun out there, and I’m sure you did a great job out there.”

     Each step you took enraged him further. The matches he had won were for you, and in his eyes, you dismissed him. His mind ran in circles contemplating just how you could abandon him. He wanted to reach out and force you to explain yourself but something held him back. No if you would not be there for his time of glory, then maybe you weren’t worth his time at all.
