New lore about Sages Island adds yet another mystery to our pile of lore mysteries BECAUSE?? IS MICKEY IN OUR MIRROR THE SAME AS SORCERERS APPRENTICE MICKEY FROM THE PAST ??!!?!!! His spirit...???? Or is one Mickey from this universe and the other is from another- TWST come back here right now with Book 8, I need ANSWERS-

To summarize the relevant lore from book 7’s conclusion: we learn that a great mage lived on Sage's Island 2000 years ago and had an apprentice with powerful magic. The apprentice's magic raged out of control, but rather than exiling them, the great mage admonished him and continued to teach them. This is a reference to Disney's Fantasia, in which Mickey is the Sorcerer's Apprentice. I'm assuming that this is why we now have theories that these are Mickey's true origins for Twst.

I’ve also seen theories that Grim is the Sorcerer’s Apprentice or is somehow tied in with the new Sage’s Island lore. In book 6, Idia remarks that there is complex, ancient magic woven into Grim—and 2000 years is a pretty long time. Furthermore, Grim has conveyed that he felt "drawn" to NRC, and feels as though he is "waiting" for someone, but does not quite understand why. Maybe he has residual memories of his mage mentor...?
