This February’s illustration (and also the 1st one of the year to me) is that of modern-day Ares and Aphrodite always looking very flirty and in love, taking a break after a huge workout session outside in their neoclassical Greek home backyard in Cyprus. They might go back inside to have some lemon sorbet and go straight to swimming in their pool afterward.

For the house design in the background that I had already shown in my previous illustration, I imagine due to Ares’s upbringing and often staying in the shadows of the Olympians when he was a kid, he always loved the Archaic, Classical and Hellenistic Greek architecture; while Aphrodite loved something much more clean and minimalistic, roofless and unadorned, as she can easily customize & change the decor style suit with her needs.🏛️

The vibes and their modern clothing right now are inspired by all forms of unlimited television broadcast access I could get as a child LMAO. Early 2000s animations such as Winx, W.I.T.C.H, Teen Titans, Totally Spies, MTV reality shows such as Cribs, Jersey Shore, and My Sweet Super 16, and Disney Channel shows the Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Kim Possible; as well as listening to RnB+pop singers & boyband groups of the late 90s-the full decade of 2000s through my parents’ stacks of CDs. More is more is always in their clothing principle, especially with bling jewelry for the goddess of love.🤭💍💅
