“Please don’t stop that on my behalf,” he drawled as he leaned against a pillar close to the bar. The leaky couldron was, quite possibly, his least favourite place to be and yet, here he was, socializing.

“Darlin’, gimme another?” he said, as he leant over to set his glass on the counter. His American accent slipped through and he smiled at his own pathetic drawl, before turning back to the person that had, so rudely, interrupted him while wallowing.

“...unless you need me, by any account.”

Suddenly everyone in this insipid little block radius irritates me.

Just a green tea for me...Yeah, Max, don't look at me like that. I know you're a bartender, honey, and you're used to serving up drinks, but I'll have a hot tea. Want me to order in French for you? Fine. Puis-je avoir un thé chaud? Merci.
