Dunno if you've seen the new figurines yet, but I think Brokenstar a little silly because A) Big red eyes, because he's evil, B) Red tint, because he's evil assumedly and C) He's just next to the nefarious Sol with his strong jawline. The berries in his mouth are an interesting touch.

He's SO silly. I need him. I've never needed one of the figurines so badly in my life. You know when you have such a deep distaste for a concept that it ends up clipping backwards into obsession? Brokenstar's like that for me.

Born evil baby who just exists to torment everyone around him, make child soldiers, and kill kittens. As if child abuse is an existential, demonic evil that only fundamentally broken people are capable of and not like... a generally preventable form of abuse, with several contributing factors, that any adult is capable of.

Ooough I hate you Brokenstar... I love you Brokenstar... you are sooo stupid as a concept that I need to study you.

So his super evil mini with a red tint and no pupils and munching deathberries is 10/10 no notes.

I'm thinking of getting him (bundled w/ Sol) along with the Midnight/Rock pack as a present for myself. Try to collect the characters I turned into supernatural entities in BB lmaoooo. I'd only be missing Star Flower and One Eye.

I’m really proud of myself

I finally took the steps to living on my own (I’ve always had roommates/family there) and getting out of this job and town I dislike

it has been so stressful and basically all my free time has gone into working on finding a job then finding a place to live, and I’ve (as of today) officially secured both🥹

I’ve been losing sleep due to stress and feeling overwhelmed but it’s all coming together and I’m excited for this new chapter

Idk if anyone cares/knows about UK politics but god I'm so scared for my safety if it keeps going this way. You mean to tell me in the 8 years I've known I was trans for only really 4 of them I could be my authentic self and now I might have to detransition just to be safe??? The past 4 years being a fucking dream that idk if I can ever get back if I lose myself. I've only JUST changed my name cause I was scared

Cause if this country continues down the "trans people are delusional cis people" route and I'm going to work in NHS/medical field will i have to detransition just so people deem me safe enough to allow me to do my job and care for them????

In case anybody isn't aware, there's a brief backstory about a certain Spy vs. Spy short

Good evening, folks. The Spy vs. Spy short that had to do with ventriloquism from MADtv is basically another fan favorite besides Defection. Not to mention that it's also the only short where anybody has spoken a single word at all.

I will admit, I do find the raspy voices, and the incomprehensible babble, the spies were given (especially White Spy) pretty interesting and, just like the suppressed snickering they had throughout most of the shorts, it suits them very well to some degree.

I've heard rumors that the spies were probably voiced by Bryan Callen right up until he left the show right after season two. Is this true? I dunno, but it may be possible.

Anyhow, in case anybody isn't aware, this whole incident was actually provoked when Black taunted White by shouting profanities at the latter whilst he was minding his own business, as seen at the very beginning of the original paperback strip.

Geesh, as much I like Black Spy and all, he can be such a huge wise-ass (I kinda did want to slug Black in the gut for straight up taunting White like that, I will admit). Well, it all came back to bite him on the ass when White retaliated by inventing a mini speaker and a mini microphone so that..well I'd see the events unfold in the video if I were you (and/or check out the original paperback strip, too; if y'all happen to have that paperback book with this strip), and the rest is history.

One thing I love about "Frankenstein: A New Musical" is how well it captures the less eventful moments in the original novel that are often left out of adaptations because they're not "interesting" enough, even though they contribute to and establish important themes that are relevant throughout the entire story.

For example, Victor in popular culture is characterized as a mad scientist working alongside his assistant Igor, whereas the original novel makes a compelling case that Victor's isolation is what enabled him to pursue his experiments as far as he did. By spotlighting Victor's idyllic childhood and by emphasizing his individual family members early on, "Frankenstein: A New Musical" maintains the book's emphasis on community and accountability.

Victor only commits scientific atrocities when he doesn't have his support system nearby, and he remains constantly afraid that his loved ones will learn the truth about what he's done. Perhaps that's why Victor destroys the Creature's wife much more decisively than the Creature himself. In the musical, we see Henry interrupting Victor's singing to force him to consider the repercussions of his actions. Compare "Birth to My Creation" to "The Modern Prometheus." In both songs, Victor brings a creature to life; but only when Henry turns the song into a duet does Victor refrain from getting carried away, ultimately choosing to destroy his work before the song's end.

This theme of isolation and community is one of my favorites in the original novel, because it creatures a fascinating parallel between Victor and the Creature. On the one hand, Victor is proof that being alone can cause a person to do terrible things and that friends and family can encourage people to be kinder and to do better than they would otherwise. Yet Victor denies that same fellowship to the Creature and blames him for his lack of morality, in a sense dooming him to a wretched and immoral existence.

"Frankenstein: A New Musical" upholds this theme brilliantly and, in the process, adds nuance to its protagonists: The Creature becomes more sympathetic, while Victor becomes more hypocritical. I love both characters dearly, but neither is without their flaws, and I'm grateful that the musical captures this complexity so well.
