What Is a Pavlova?

Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. It has a crisp crust with a soft, marshmallow-like center and is typically topped with whipped cream and fresh fruit. In this modern twist, we’re adding a scoop of Kir Royale sorbet — inspired by the classic cocktail made with Champagne and crème de cassis — along with sliced kiwis for a tart, tropical note.

Ingredients

For the Pavlova:

4 large egg whites (room temperature)

1 cup caster sugar

1 tsp cornstarch

1 tsp white vinegar

1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Kir Royale Sorbet (or use store-bought):

1 cup water

1/2 cup sugar

1/2 cup crème de cassis

1 cup Champagne or sparkling wine

Juice of 1 lemon

Toppings:

2–3 ripe kiwis, peeled and thinly sliced

Fresh mint leaves (optional)

Edible flowers (optional, for presentation)

Instructions

1. Make the Pavlovas

Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and draw 4–6 small circles as a guide (about 3–4 inches in diameter).

In a clean mixing bowl, whip the egg whites on medium speed until soft peaks form.

Gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy.

Gently fold in the cornstarch, vinegar, and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.

Spoon the meringue onto the parchment-lined tray, using your circles as guides. Use the back of a spoon to create a slight well in the center of each one.

Bake for 60–75 minutes, or until the meringues are crisp on the outside and can be lifted off the paper easily. Turn off the oven and let them cool inside with the door slightly ajar.

2. Prepare the Kir Royale Sorbet

If making your own sorbet:

Combine sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat to make a simple syrup. Stir until sugar dissolves completely. Cool.

Mix in crème de cassis, Champagne, and lemon juice. Pour into a freezer-safe container or ice cream maker.

Freeze according to your machine’s instructions, or stir every 30–60 minutes if using the freezer method, until frozen and scoopable.

3. Assemble the Dessert

Once the pavlovas are cool, place them on individual serving plates.

Add a scoop of Kir Royale sorbet in the center of each pavlova.

Arrange kiwi slices artfully around the sorbet.

Garnish with mint leaves or edible flowers for extra flair.

Tips for Success

Make sure your mixing bowl is completely clean and free of grease for the egg whites to whip properly.

Don’t overbake the pavlovas — they should be crisp outside but soft and marshmallowy inside.

You can make the pavlovas a day ahead. Store in an airtight container and assemble just before serving.

So huh, weird shit, i bought a Vape, the rechargable kind. I wanted to buy a cheap disposable one but they ran out of it so I ended up spending a bit more money for the blueberry maskking.

It's... Ok, my family actually liked that better than any of my cigarettes which is understandable. I liked the taste and how it felt, I might bring it with me more often. I get why they're popular.

I don't think I'll leave my cigars like my ma wants tho, but it's a nice smelling alternative. I would've liked a slimmer model but I'm not mad at the size, and I'm not spending big bucks on a smaller container of nicotine when I have other more important things to pay and take care of.
