Teenage Dream

I pre-ordered this doll in late October I think? And she finally shipped over last weekend. I’ve always thought Mizi dolls were really pretty, but not pretty enough to consider purchasing them- especially when the body is a literal carbon copy of an IT body with only slight modification to the midsection, I think it’s really funny that Mizi’s official IG has all these digital mockups of her body, but it’s still just a stolen sculpt lmfao But the basic ‘Teenage Dream’ dolls really caught my eye with the pastel hair and makeup, so I grabbed Lily.  Well fortunately, I already disliked the body sculpt (the boobs are a little too large and pointy for my taste) because not 30 seconds after deboxing, her leg broke off :)))) In their defense, I did drop her on the kitchen floor but the leg that fell off is suspiciously not the one that made impact with the floor, and the peg holding the leg to the torso is TINY so it was lacking in strength to begin with, and the body itself is made of very cheap, light plastic- almost reminds me of an OG Fashionista body, and the joints are pretty loose.  Anyway this is Lily after I washed and set her hair with a cello:

(I took off the other leg just for shits lol) Her face isn’t flawless; the lines in her brows are a bit wonky and are darker on the left, but it’s hardly noticeable, being that her brows are the lightest grey ever, so I don’t really mind.  Her hair is nylon, much to my surprise, and it’s gorgeous quality! Shiny, thick, no frizz and a nice subtle wave. The rooting in the front could be better but it lays correctly and looks lovely.   Luckily Integrity Toys is running their annual body sale right now, and Lily matches their Cream skintone perfectly so I ordered a Poppy body for her. I almost got a Nuface body, but they were out of stock and I figure she’ll fit in better with my Misaki.  Her head is also soft?? Like Barbie soft. I was expecting it to be hard like an IT doll but it’s actually squishy and easy to remove. Not a bad thing, just means it’ll be easy to rebody her.  Her hands are stolen from Poppy Parker, the difference being that they’re soft vinyl and attach to a ball on her wrist rather than a peg like IT dolls. The ball can be removed and IT hands fit her perfectly though, not surprising since the body IS IT lmfao. They’re also poorly cast and have little bumps all over them.  Overall not sure if she’s worth the 60$ given the shitty stolen body and the broken leg, but since I love her face and hair (and already knew I wanted to rebody) I’m happy with her.
