Hmm. I’m suddenly feeling like punching a lesbophobe in the face right now. For context: someone requested a redrom Johnrose edit to a sprite edit blog I’m a mod on, and I’m somewhat low on spoons so another mod filled that request. To clarify: I don’t give a damn if someone headcanons Rose Lalonde as Bi or Pan, in fact have all the mspec Rose headcanons you want. As long as you acknowledge that she’s sapphic and married Kanaya who is a canon lesbian then I’m cool with non-lesbian Rose. HOWEVER, I was a tad surprised when I seen the Johnrose request because I didn’t think that many people shipped johnrose in 2017? It seemed to me that the majority of people were on the lesbian Rose train and the gay or aroace john bandwagon as of right now. Nonetheless, Johnrose is harmless and I’m inclined to let Johnrose shippers have their fun. HOWEVER, (part 2) someone replied to the finished request (I hope they weren’t the anon who requested it) and said something like “this is some good shit” and I decided to check out their blog since I was curious about this Johnrose shipper and I hadn’t seen them around before (I’m not mentioning their url because I don’t want to cause a shitstorm), and literally eight posts down on their blog I seen the most shamelessly lesbophobic shit in the Homestuck fandom that I’ve seen in ages. Most of the ships were just harmless rarepairs, like Cronus <3 John and I believe another one was redrom Gamnep? Anyway, Kanaya is my favorite homestuck character and when I seen her trademark jade green juxtapositioned with a bright red I assumed it was pale Karnaya, but no. It was redrom Davekan. So I’ll make a reminder: Kanaya is a canon lesbian and to ship her in the red or black quadrants with any boys is nothing less than lesbophobic.
