4t2 EA Guitars

Well, in the midst of the Lovestruck conversion saga with tvickiesims, I took on the guitar and after about an hour of "what does this mean?!" to myself while reading the instructions, I converted a guitar! I found it easy enough to convert the entirety of TS4 guitars so here, I give it to you.

You will need argon's custom instrument mod for these to be functional! You also need to grab/select the guitar at the base of the stand/holder.

Please give feedback on the new activity autonomy levels since I tuned the autonomy. I may adjust the autonomy levels again later with more testing in the game. 😉

Skirts for M sims, teens to elders. Choose if you want them to be tooltipped, in which case they will show up like any regular CC, or BSOK'd, in which case they will be sorted with Lifa trans M clothing (more details on that at the bottom of the post).

All have fat morphs, adults have preg morphs. The teen & elder recolors can be either standalone or repo'd to adults.

Most of these skirts are categorized as everyday & outerwear - to access separates in clothing categories other than everyday, you can use Lazy Duchess's Separates4all mod.

About the tooltip/BSOK options

These skirts match both the standard Maxis M shapes and Lifa's trans M shapes (except EM because there is no dedicated Lifa trans EM shape - Lifa trans EM sims use the adult shape). That's why I'm giving you the option to have them either categorized with regular cc or with Lifa's trans M cc.

But, I hear you say, wouldn't any M bottoms match both the standard Maxis M shapes and Lifa's trans M shapes anyway? They match at the waist so that they are compatible with the same tops, but other than that, not exactly.

Maxis M and Lifa trans M bottoms differ in 3 places: Lifa trans M bottoms have the Maxis F higher crotch level, lower knees mapping and distinctly F toes mapping. These particularities on Lifa trans M sims are solved through the use of showerproof skins made specifically for trans sims. Anyway, since skirts hide crotch level and the specific skirts I picked for this post also hide the knees and toes textures, those differences aren't applicable here, hencewhy I'm saying they match both shapes.

In contrast, see the skirts on this post, which I presented exclusively as for Lifa's trans M and made available BSOK'd only. Those skirts have visible knee textures and those knees will look a bit weird on sims who don't have a showerproof skin made for trans M.

That said, these distinctions may ultimately be completely irrelevant to you. To be honest they aren't jarring at all unless you're looking for them. I also never mean to imply that people need to be trans to wear skirts or anything like that, the classifications that I use for cc clothing are purely technical (the TS2 part of my brain is mostly occupied by downloads folder management and CAS catalog organization and apparently I haven't played the actual game since November 2022 oh god).

HQ mod update 2023-08-07

HQ mod replacement files for EP14 (Horse ranch) have been added.

Additionally, basically all replacement files have been updated to the game version 1.99.305.1020. But as usual, as long as you don't experience any oddities, there is no actual need to update those.

A guide for making a horse stencil (but it also works for cats and dogs, technically).

Edited 16/10/2023: Updated to add more info on hash ID generation and better practice.

If you've read my previous guide on making custom brushes, you'll find that it's relatively similar.

If you're brand spanking new to making any mods, this will probably take you through every single step, because I have an issue with being over-detailed.

Things you'll need:

Sims 4 Studio

GIMP

Notepad

Tools in S4S we'll be using:

Begin by making a new, empty package file, after that, open up the game file cruiser.

Find the "Pet Pelt Layer" and tick the box, after that, in the search box below the file types, write in "EP14", as this will hide cat and dog stencils that will show up.

From here, it's important that we find the right one to work with, it has to be tagged as "Stencil", in this case, it'll be the 3rd from the top of the list or - 00000000000554B4

You can definitely work with just the first one which is a pattern if you want to, but if you're completely new to modding, it will be much easier with the one I've linked. If you do choose the pattern route, remember to change it from pattern to stencil and ThumbnailKey is responsible for the thumbnail you'll see in game.

Now, grab your trusty notepad and make note of these ID's:

Once you've made note of these ID's, make sure you add the file to your current package. You can also skip writing down the ID's and just view them from your package editor screen, but I find it helps keep the workflow more compact, however it is up to you.

Now, go back to your filetype list and select "DST Image" and "RLE 2 Image":

Additionally, make sure you still have "EP14" in the search bar, for the next part we'll be using the instance search bar, as marked on top right.

Enter your first ID -

Add to package and do the same with the second ID.

Now, your new package file should look like this:

Once you're at this point, it's relatively easy sailing.

Start by going to Tools > Hash Generator and generate 3 ID's:

Edited 16/10/2023: When generating your hash ID's, please use your creator name ie.: "[YourCreatorName/Blogname]TutorialCustomFurCoat1", this will give you a more unique hash code than hoping to be as descriptive as possible when generating the hashes (in this case instance ID's). PS. You should still be descriptive.

I do it this way, descriptor + numbers, but you can do it whatever way you want to.

After that, we'll assign your newly generated ID's.

Respectively, my first ID will be used on the Pet Pelt Layer, Second ID will be used on the RLE 2 Image and 3rd ID will be used for the DDS image:

The package you're working on should now look something like this:

After this, you should save your package (so you don't lose your progress, I had a bluescreen happen and I'm still mad, so don't make my mistakes, it's easy to fix, just takes too much time).

Once you've saved your package, we can begin exporting/importing images.

For editing, I recommend actually grabbing the horse skin file. I've uploaded it to SimFileShare, it comes in two flavours .dds and .png, .png will be easier to work with, since it won't have the same layers are .dds.

Anyway, back on track we go:

Export the RLE2 image, it'll be saved as a .png, keep that in mind for later.

Once you're happy with your results, get to exporting your image.

IMPORTANT: remember to export the file in L8 format.

Once you're done with that, go ahead and import your picture into the package:

Repeat the same steps for the DST image, and you're done. Now, save your file and load it into the game:

And you're all set and done.

RED BLITZ ~◇

A member of a space crew of 4 operating the stasis transport ship Spellanza, Red Blitz is a very ‘act first, ask questions later’ type of bot. Very quick to get riled up and quick to assume, especially when that assumption is the worst possibility known to man.

After discovering what the Spellanza was transporting, Red Blitz was devastated. Him wanting to go home so bad possibly caused the death of thousands if not millions. At the current point of this blog, Red Blitz is dealing with the heart wrenching guilt that comes with knowledge such as this. He sees himself as a murderer, inhuman, without a heart. Treat him with a bit of care ❤️.

hi! regarding the fur paint mode fpr ep4 ep14 and gp12, i find it a bit of a hassle doing the exporting and importing as cc, so would it be fine if i simply remove all the packages in their respective folders except for eyes_specular and eyes_diffuse packages? would this break the game?

You don't necessarily have to include the HQ replacement files for any pack (except for EP12, Highschool Years, if you have it). However, any sim that wears an item from a pack will turn out entirely black (like shown here: LINK), but it won't break the game. It won't fix the underlying issue that paint mode is not working with HQ mod though.
