I was watching Bdubs’ storage room moving day stream yesterday and one of my favorite interactions with other hermits was him revealing to Doc that you can’t do anything with calcite. Like the amount of disbelief in Doc’s voice was amazing.
I also liked Etho’s suggestion that you should be able to make stairs and slabs (and vertical slabs! And essentially mini blocks!) of any full block in the base game, especially since that one April Fool’s update had it with the cheese block (where you clicked on it to cycle through the options) so we know that it is technically feasible.
#hermitcraft#bdubbleo100#docm77#ethoslab#listen I started playing this game at the tail end of 1.17 and the first time I encountered tuff and calcite I was like ‘this is junk’#I’ve gotten better at building since then AND we now have tuff variants#but I’m still bummed you can’t do anything with calcite without mods#they really need to do a block parity update where all of the stone blocks (including concrete and terracotta) are brought up to even#everything should have a slab a stair a wall a brick a polished and a chiseled#even it out please Mojang it’s about all I ask for

The exasperation in his voice causes anxiety to ripple through her like a breeze over a lake. A little part of her wanted to succumb to his feelings of defeat and wallow with him. But another part of her — Which included her eyes — Spots the massive walk-in dessert refrigerator behind the counter. During times in which her feelings of self-loathing spiked, Hinata often shocked her system by taking a cold shower or sinking her face into a bowl of ice water. Surely stepping into a frosty fridge would have the same effect!
Hinata rises to her feet eyes only moving from the freezer’s frosted door to look at Theo with newfound confidence. It would be hard to think about anything when feeling so chilly. Gingerly, she reaches for one of his hands. “I— I have an idea. It might seem a little cr-crazy at first, but. . “ She hopes her smile is soothing. “Just trust me, okay?”
『🍬』 Honestly, he had convinced himself that his own outburst was meant to come across as a joke - but for Hinata to have reacted in such a manner only served to remind him of the truth behind such a statement. Recovery was never a linear road, and these thoughts and temptations kept finding him day after day - truly feeling like he was infested by an aptly parasitic lust.
"You don't get it," he's only too quick to dismiss the woman next to him. "What good is a distraction gonna do? I mean, c'mon, I'll be doing somethin' else for, what, half an hour? Then I'll just circle back to this again. Hell, it might not even take my mind off this shit. Believe me, doll, I've tried. I wanna try. I just... don't see the point."

The Minecraft crafting grid is (was) one of the best-made single pieces of game design of all time.
All 2x2 recipes are always craftable no matter what, giving the player a reason to skip bringing a crafting table with them; furthermore it acts as QoL for the kinds of items the player crafts most frequently.
Getting a crafting table is very easy, however, it requires the player to stop moving for ~5-10 seconds while they place it and potentially pick it up.
By refusing to inform the player of what they can craft, it encourages community-building. You want to see how other people play the game in order to learn new recipes and new kinds of recipes (e.g. all pickaxes follow the same shape, lots of blocks are crafted from a 2x2 formation of other materials, etc.)
Keeping the maximum size of a recipe to only nine possible ingredients + a visual pattern keeps most recipes easy to remember.
But there are limitations with this approach. There's an upper limit to how many recipes you can expect a player to remember, and I think we probably passed that somewhere around 1.7-1.8-1.9. Can anyone remember how to make armor stands? I can't. (Stone slab? Smooth stone slab? Cobble slab? Did they change it at one point or am I misremembering?
The recipe book became a necessity, and not just for feature parity. You see the same thing is large overhaul mods, and in feature-complete clones like Survivalcraft. If you don't have that community to teach new players, or you have too many progression-dependency recipes to remember, you have to just tell the player what their options are. No way around that. Minecraft has the latter problem now.
I don't begrudge Mojang for it. The game already has a big community, and adding more recipes are very beneficial to the game's current direction. But it's a little sad to see that little grid go from core identity to a vestigial visualization of a new sleeker interface.

Hotfixing will be paused while we move to an Interim Cert Update! During this “Hotfix dark” phase, the team will continue to log your bug reports & feedback for continued fixes towards 1999 and Techrot Encore content.
One important note: during this downtime, the iOS team may continue to Hotfix to tackle performance improvements exclusive to the Mobile platform!
Also, Devstream 187 is being primed for you! Join us on April 25th at 2 p.m. ET for a ‘sillier’ look at all things Warframe development, PLUS get a sneak peek at designing a new Warframe Augment Mod! Tuning in from start to finish will net you 3 items from our ‘Cursed x Blessed Grab Bag’ Twitch Drop!
Like always, our next Cert Update includes further code fixes. Code describes changes made directly to the engine, which requires Certification from each Console platform to pass its checks, such as ensuring an Update doesn’t crash the machine itself.
We also need to ensure Cross Platform Play parity so all Tenno can continue to play together!
You can find further details on the “Code” and “Cert” processes here!
Curious about a few of the resolved issues from our ‘Known Issues’ list? You can expect to see the following issues resolved*:
Gyre's Conductive Sphere Augment applies an electricity bonus to enemy bullets as well.
Yareli’s with Evade subsumed can’t gain Evade duration on headshot kill whle riding Merulina.
Initial Combo doesn’t grow while Mesa or Jade’s Exalted Weapons are active.
Coda and normal Catabolyst primary fire always causing screen shake.
Coda Motorvore inherits IPS damage Mods from Exalted Melee Weapons that are using Melee Doughty.
Wirematrix Ephemera can cause stuttering on lower-spec machines
Cloaked appearances in settings doesn’t apply to Archwings or Railjacks when invisible.
First Archgun Mod in Archwing is ignored if player is below MR30 and has used all available Capacity on the Archgun.
Unveiled Rivens that were unveiled by completing the challenge will be hidden by "Hide Equipped" toggle in the Trading Menu if it hasn't been equipped on a weapon since unveiling.
This causes players to think their Rivens are not available to trade, when they are secretly considered "equipped" on the backend and therefore hidden by this toggle.
Falling out of the Concert in the Technocyte Coda Showdown means instant fail on death in subsequent runs.
As well, we’ll have some quality of life improvements coming with future Updates, such as:
Adding the ability to modify your Warframe loadout from the Archimedea menus.
* The bounty of issues on our Known Issues list is still a priority, but some aren’t in a state to confirm as 100% “fixed.” Additionally, we’ll continue to test the above fixes to ensure they are fully resolved on all platforms should any outlying issues arise.
Like always, we’ll be present in our usual spots! Whether we’re hunting bugs, gathering feedback, or talking directly with you, we’ll be here:
Prime Time, Warframe International and Devshorts!
Devstream 187 is primed for April 25th!
We’ll be at PAX East 2025, bringing along our Devstream 188 on May 10th at 3 p.m. ET! Tune in to hear more about our next big Update!
Thank you for your patience and understanding, Tenno. We’re looking forward to discussing even more Warframe with you at Devstream 187 and Devstream 188 shortly after!

@ Minecraft Bedrock players,
yeah uh same question sorry
@ Minecraft Java players,
How do you do it?
#I could say all the same things about redstone just coming from the other direction#AND java edition isn't overloaded with mtx#AND the modding scene is better on java#p.s. I'm still mad they screwed up the unique functionality of copper bulbs#just because bedrock edition apparently has such a poor foundation they couldn't make it do the same thing there#so they made java worse for 'parity'#tbh tho bedrock and java players are two bad bitches#we should be making out sloppy style etc not fighting

Why is the minimum requirement for the exchange 1500 words? Not trying to be rude, but I’m curious how you came to that requirement. I love writing Lukanette stories, but I never get to that many words. And I feel alienated from these events for this reason and I don’t think I’m alone in this. I would have loved to join, but I know I can’t write that much. So I’m curious as to how you thought this was a good requirement. Again, not trying to be rude or demanding or anything. I just want to know. You have quite a few talented writers and artists. But I feel like you exclude others who can’t write that many words for whatever reason. The Lukanette fandom is already pretty small and it can be even more excluding when you host these events that not everyone can do.
It would be awesome if you could join us for the minific challenges we host every so often! We were doing them more often but participation fell off a bit so we've been spacing them out more. Same with the sprint challenges! No minimum word requirement there. We did them every month for a couple of years but again, as participation fell off we started spacing them out more.
Alternatively, you could write multiple prompt reposes totaling 1500 words. We require at least two prompt submissions and most people put in at least three.
It's too late for this year but we also do a sprint secret Santa within the discord server. We did one just for fun one year, a smaller event where we didn't have to do so much organization, and it's become a yearly tradition.
We've also done events in the past for MerMay, we've done Lukanette weeks and months at various times, there's the ongoing Smooch Roulette prompt set, so there are loads of opportunities for anyone to jump in and participate, and for every event except the Secret Admirer Exchange, we have a very laid back attitude towards "the rules." The main purpose of these events is to inspire people write something they might not have written before, and if you have to bend or break the guidelines of the event to do that, we'll cheer you on every step of the way.
With all that said, the Secret Admirer Exchange has had the same rules and minimum requirements as it has had since the beginning. The goal is to make sure that those participating in the exchange have some assurance of parity in the exchange. We feel 1500 words is very attainable goal for most people, and comparable to the level of effort we ask from our artists.
If you feel that's out of your reach at the moment then that's totally valid, everyone is at a different place in their writing journey. We encourage you to keep working and participating in other events, and maybe next year you will feel more confident, or maybe you are naturally a short story writer and are content with the length you usually write. Maybe you could consider joining the discord for encouragement and advice if you want it.
The discord is also where we float ideas for events and poll for best timing, how people want to do things, etc, so you could join and mute everything but the event feedback and announcement channels if you just want to have input into those.
I'll be the first to admit we are not the right fit for everybody, and if you hang out with us for a while and decide we're just not your people, that's cool.
If there's someone out there in fandom that wants to put together a Lukanette exchange event with a smaller scale requirement, we'd be happy to promote it.

So... ELDEWRITO IS BACK!
If you're unaware, Eldewrito was a mod for the Russia only "Halo Online" game, which in of itself was a heavily modified closed alpha test of Halo 3 ported to PC back before MCC on Steam complete with new weapons, a weaponsmith system, maps, Forge mechanics, gameplay elements, and this horrid pseudo Halo 4 art style.
Bleugh.
Since Halo Online was private, and only available to a Russian audience, modders began work on bringing the game closer to the original Halo 3 in parity, so that the dream of Halo 3 on PC could finally be a reality. When Halo Online was cancelled Eldewrito became pretty popular and I played quite a bit of it myself. it was tons of fun. One of my favorite little things were the viewmodel settings, the custom armor color editing, and the new first person jumping animations, as there never were any in Halo 3.
MS asked them to stop development shortly before The Master Chief Collection was announced for PC, and after 6 years they've finally got a new update.
It now includes a new launcher, a modded custom games browser with automatic mod downloading, and support for Halo 3 MCC mods!
I highly recommend giving it a try.

Silly late night question for Minecraft mod fans. I have simple kelpies for 1.20.2 working in Fabric, but the forge version’s original 1.20.1 version is broken I discovered a little while back. I wanted to add a new major feature but doing so in fabric means I can’t in forge until I fix it. This would put fabric ahead of forge in features until I get around to playing catch up. It’ll take me some time to fix forge bc the mixins are super broken and I dunno why. I’ve been trying for two days already. So:
Not expecting a lot of responses, but even a couple might give me an idea of where people want my attention first if you happen to use the mod.
Pros/cons of option 1: new feature fast on Fabric but forge is behind
Pros/cons of option 2: Full parity by keeping them together and full attention on the forge fix, but slower update because the forge issue will be time consuming even with my full attention.

People are so excited about the patch 8 and new subclasses and I can't understand it even a little bit. There is nothing less useful to the community than new subclasses! We can make you a new subclass in an hour! Every new subclass they're adding already exists as a mod!
Like, if they said they were adding Durge reactivity, or trying to actually bring Wyll and Karlach closer to content parity with the other Origins, or idek adding a background Jaheira/Nine-Fingers romance that you can trigger if you do things in the right order, or something, I could understand being pumped. That's shit that only Larian, with their access to voice actors, can reasonably do in deep detail and full polish, and therefore something to really look forward to.
But swashbuckler? You're writing excited reddit posts about rolling a swashbuckler? You could do that a year and a half ago on PC, and as early as patch 7 on console! Like don't get me wrong. There's no reason for Larian not to throw a couple days of man-hours of subclasses in with the bugfixes, I'm glad there's still at least one more patch too, but.
Swashbuckler!?
#a year ago i would have at least understood being psyched about oath of the crown#but now that we can manipulate oathbreak variables#a determined modder can provide a fully-functional new paladin oath as well#or like if they were going to do special larian-exclusive subclasses that might be worth anticipating#a gish fighter for lae'zel and a specific zariel pact for wyll and some karlach thing based on her heart#it might be neat to see what they came up with there#but no. patch 8 comes with pose-ready photo mode and we're excited about swashbuckler.

how would y'all feel about paid achievement-friendly variants of my most popular free mods?
currently, only paid creations can be marked achievement-friendly, as only paid creations go through quality assurance and can be officially verified as not a cheat. that means all free mods prevent modded save files from earning achievements.
so, as much as i would like to flag all of my paid and free creations as achievement-friendly, unfortunately i cannot.
if you'd still like to use my mods, however, while continuing to earn achievements, something I can do is reupload my free mods as paid alternative - achievement-friendly - variants
achievement-friendly alternative versions of my free mods would cost the minimum listing price of 100 credits, maintain feature/version parity with their free counterparts, and of course allow you to earn achievements.
(this is more oriented at Xbox users who don't have access to achievement enabler mods)

What is the total mod list? I'm somewhat interested in trying out an SMP, but would rather not sign up if it turns out to differ too much from my expectations. Also, there's some parity issues between curseforge and modrinth, so that's another reason I'd want to know first.
Certainly!
Firstly, we’re using mods based in Fabric, and everyone so far has been using Modrinth launcher.
Here’s the list of what we use.
- Naturalist
- Oh The Biomes We’ve Gone
- Origins
- Origins++
- Mob Origins
- Origins Tweaks
- Let’s Do Vinery
- Let’s Do Bakery
- Let’s Do HerbalBrews
- Farmer’s Delight
- Simple Voice Chat
- Argonauts
- Backported Wolves
- Cadmus
- Dungeon and Taverns
- Item Collectors
- Simple Copper Pipes
- Macaw’s Bridges
- Macaw’s Furniture
- Macaw’s Lights and Lamps
- Macaw’s Paths and Pavings
- Macaw’s Windows
- Macaw’s Stairs
- Macaw’s Fences
- (note: alongside macaw’s, we have furniture fences etc using woods and stone from ‘Oh The Biomes We’ve Gone’)
- Better Combat
- Rogues & Warriors (RPG Series)
- Wizards (RPG Series)
- Simple Veinminer
- Sawmill
- Ribbits
- Xaero’s Minimap
- Storage Drawers
- Traveler’s Backpack
- Immersive Aircraft
Any other mods in the modpack are dependencies and for optimisation. You can research all of these on Modrinth at your leisure, and see if it’s too much! From our experience, the most obtrusive (can’t avoid) changes are Origins, Naturalist, and Oh The Biomes, just by the nature of them being quite impactful on gameplay.
Everything else, you can pretty much avoid if you don’t craft any of the stuff. Hope this helps!
- Baggs (ey/it/rib)

i love you. i understand you. minecraft was such a hard game for me when i started out. i feel you. i honestly wish difficulty affected how many and which mobs spawned (easy with only the regular zombie/skeleton/spiders and whattnot) so you wouldnt have to deal with everything. for the sake of everyone who plays on bedrock i wish modding was possible without paying actual real money in their marketplace full of microtransactions.
i dont think its a problem of you playing on bedrock. i think it's a general issue with the game. it feels like we just keep getting more and more enemies when we already have a ton, especially for people who find the game hard or/and are just starting out, and no way of really dealing with them unless you're good at fighting off hordes of mobs, which.. can honestly take a shit ton of time to get good at. especially on bedrock i think, because you need to crouch to use a shield, when on java you can just right click and dont need to sneak (which is so stupid, why can't bedrock have some java parity here? why can't you guys put everything in your offhand and only select items? why cant you right click* a shield and why do you have to crouch to use it?)
i wish you luck on having fun and gathering materials peacefully, o7
all those minecraft tryhards need to stop for a moment to appreciate minecraft's beauty actually. "minecraft is too easy" this "minecraft is too boring" that -- that's entirely your own fault. all you do is grind and automate everything. have you never walked into a cave and been stunned by it's beauty? pausing for five minutes to just walk around calmly in the giant ass cave with the most sick generation ever? have you never stood atop a mountain and watched the sun rise or set? have you never been out at sea and then stopped completely once music starts playing as the sun sets? do you not stop temporarily when you see a sheep that is not white or black? have you ever taken just a moment to appreciate minecraft's world generation as you wander across?
