Welcome to yet another Henry Stickmin ask blog

The basis of this is; You guys ask questions, I will answer them as the character you ask! Please note that not all characters will respond and I am still working on sprites and art for asks as this blog is fairly new and I am not normally a digital artist

as my own direct immediate list of game grievances i hate that stardew valley expects you to side against a wheelchair user who is upset that he was moved without his consent. i hate that the mass effect trilogy gives you visible scarring as a direct result of choosing mean dialogue and heals it if you're nice. i hate that the vampire the masquerade ttrpg has a monstrous player class that can appear as horrible vampiric monsters or as visibly disabled people and both of these appearances are mechanically the same. i hate that dark souls games have a difficulty level implemented in a way that cannot be adjusted for disability. i hate that i can play as a mermaid or a werewolf or a horse in the sims games but can't use a wheelchair. i hate that the ace attorney games have so much flashing and not all of the games can disable it. i hate that disability is constantly something that happens to teach a lesson, i hate that disability is something that happens as a punishment, i hate that disability is either compensated perfectly with no drawbacks or something that is endlessly sought to be cured. i hate that no character customization will ever include the mobility aids i use, that the player avatars that represent me will never look like me. i am so goddamn annoyed and so goddamn tired.

There's this really cool thing that a handful of diaspora Palestinians have committed a lot of time and effort to called vetting (maybe you've heard of it?) in which they speak directly with a fundraiser holder face-to-face or over phone/video call to verify all portions of a fundraiser. There are so many posts [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] that talk about the details of this process to verify that a fundraiser organizer, recipient, and the details are correct by verifying legal documents like proof of residence, photo ID, fluency in Palestinian-Dialect Arabic, family tree constructions, etc.

These vetters have been posting about Palestinian/Gaza/Arab culture/Islam/etc. for a really long time, [1] [2] [3] (these are Wayback machine links to the tumblr accounts of 90-ghost, el-shab-hussein, & nabulsi before you start crying "but, you can post backdate on tumblr!") [4] (moayesh's Instagram because his tumblr is fairly new) meaning that they didn't just pop up after Oct 2023 to start posing as a qualified individual. They are real diaspora Palestinians with stories to tell and culture to share.

GFM also has strict requirements for withdrawing money, needing evidence of a bank account from a country they service and a solid way to transfer funds from that bank account to the recipient's bank account. If the funds are withheld from the intended recipient, that can be reported to and resolved by GFM.

If you're too overwhelmed by trying to distinguish between scams and real fundraisers, then whatever. That's your problem, not everyone else's. You don't need to publicly announce to everyone that you're too busy/tired/incompetent/ignorant to properly investigate fundraisers, so everyone else should stop supporting them as well. There are plenty of vetters and scam-busting blogs dedicated to helping people distinguish between real and fake.

Donating to established nonprofit aid organizations is absolutely a good deed and is much more straightforward, but it's not the only way to help. Especially with the repeated aid blockages, sometimes Ghazan families need a more direct flow of money to pay for the ridiculously inflated cost necessities (I recently received a video from Farah wherein she states that a bottle of dish soap cost $50. $50!!!!) as well as save up for evacuation costs once the Egyptian border crossing opens. (Thousands of dollars!)

Calling Curtains.

(All of this is OOC. I just don't want to put in the fire emoji).

After some consideration, I have officially decided that the blog will be going inactive.

I will be keeping posts up, for the sake of memories and simplicity. But I will no longer be accepting asks.

After, quite frankly, way too long, I'm finally listening to the wake-up call. Rox is a groomer who has drawn CP, and Qwel is defending him. I'm not just going to stand around like this anymore.

This isn't a jab at anyone who wants to keep doing their blogs, especially since something exciting is happening AS I TYPE THIS. This is just my choice.

And while I would love to start encouraging everyone else to, at least drop Dandy's World publicly, it is ultimately their choice whether to keep going or not.

Goodness, there's a lot I would have loved to do.

There was a small event thing I was hoping to do, where he'd accidentally leave his tumblr open on a staff computer and some staff member would end up hijacking the blog for a bit.

And I would've loved to follow up with how Shrimpo feels about the cast after he sitting with Astro for even that little bit..

I'll keep the former in my back pocket for another day and another blog.

A few months earlier....

So this was a short test of me trying to practice modding In Stars and Time!! Just did a short little scenario to test out the dialogue boxes and little symbols needed to make them work, made a map from scratch, etc. Made this little cutscene! Obvs using what was already in game because again. just a test

I'd honestly really like to do more ISAT modding stuff. Me on my way to spearhead a modding community for ISAT. in mods and time.
