There is a re-occurring quest of sorts in Final Fantasy XIV called ‘Wondrous Tails’, and it is given to you in Idyllshire by a young Miqo’te named Khloe Aliapoh. Specifically, she gives you an empty journal and asks you to write down the stories of your past and future adventures so that she can share them with everyone she meets!

By re-completing past content, you can earn stickers in order to make lines across a card in a style similar to bingo, with each finished line netting all sorts of prizes once the journal is turned in. In much the same way, ‘Wondrous Tails of FFXIV’ is a multi-month event that utilizes a prompt-filled bingo card format in order to encourage participants to tell the stories in an environment with minimal restrictions and maximum possibilities.

This event is open to both visual and written media, and anyone that participates with at least one valid entry is entered for a raffle that takes place after the end of the event. However, participants do not need to worry about raffle entries or its few restrictions if all they'd like to do is take part and have fun!

in not sure if youve seen it but on the topic of au ras ojiyaff on twitter did a series of sketches of all the steppe tribes called 51 scales!

I have looked at all their art—in fact, discovering the series of sketches was one of the things that made me fall in love with the Xaela and, by extension, the reason I made my Xaela WoL Khalja Kahkol!

Though a little silly, I even made a resource page on my main tumblr blog with all the available canon information alongside ojiyaff’s sketches just because I loved having it all available while I was still absorbing a lot of FFXIV’s overall lore several years ago; you can still find the page here!

I may be woefully late on this, but I’m going to go back and add tags to stuff pertaining to Cole Cassidy (formerly known as McCree). I’m not going to remove the old tags, but I will be adding tags for his new name and the accepted ship names where applicable, such as for him and Hanzo (which Yeehan seems to be the most popular of choices!)

As far as I recall there hadn’t been any other name changes, but then again I am so horribly outdated on most Overwatch happenings since I was last in the fandom like... 5 years ago? 🤣 So if there’s any other tags or whatnot that need adding or updating, please let me know!

With the holidays quickly rolling closer and myself low on hours at my current job while looking for a new one, I figure there’s no better time to announce that my writing commissions have opened up again!

Some Fic Ideas and Concepts

- Reader transported to future, is revealed to be one of the actual first quirk-holders, which is connected to government suppression and weaponization of quirks

- “Reader’s Halfway House for Troubled Villains” (AU where Shigaraki isn’t completely groomed and the League of Villains is more the League of Therapy)

- Reader is a counselor for U.A. and has some sort of omnipotence/meta-based quirk, they put up with So Much Shit™️ due to this fact and often wonder if a new career would be a good idea

- Series rewrite where the reader obtains One-For-All instead of Midoriya, who is still quirkless but gets into U.A. instead of Mineta due to his incredible cleverness and observational skills; he is the only one who knows their secret and helps them train with the aid of his knowledge of quirk application

- The reader is a victim of quirk experimentation by a secret government agency, possibly connected to the HPSC as an emergency backup plan to combat One-for-All. Having been raised to be more tool than person, they escape/are saved from the facility and taken into the care of several other characters. They are taught not only how to live a normal life and how to accept their childhood trauma, but also how to use their quirks on their own terms and they move forward in their new, free life.

As a quick note on things since I’ve gotten a couple asks on the topic, and my fiance and I both had a chance to play through the SW/SH game individually: we both played through the game with the general impression that the main reoccurring trainers (Bede, Hop, Marnie and the player character themselves) are young adults or late teenagers.

Basically, those characters will be written as young adults whether they happen to align with a canonical age or not--I have no intention being loyal to canon if Nintendo gives us information to the contrary; they will have explicitly started their respective journeys as young adults in my version of the game’s plot. Even then, this blog is primarily for reader-insert content to begin with as opposed to shipping characters together in the first place, and I know that in itself is significant to people.

If that type of content that makes you uncomfortable however (and you are absolutely allowed to be squicked by that), I will make sure to tag any writing that contains content of that nature as ‘agedup’ so you can easy blacklist it if needed!

Extend Wondrous Tails to June?

Hello everyone! I apologize for the lack of overall posts (unfortunately I'm currently hyperfixating HARD on an entirely separate fandom), but I've been seeing a TON of amazing content so far and I'm ecstatic to start queuing things up to reblog here!

A friend brought up a very good point that I wasn't aware of: as of right now, if the event is extended to end on June 15th (a one month extension) then it will end around two weeks before Dawntrail comes out -- what an excellent way to keep up the hype for everyone's new adventures in the expansion!

What's even more hilarious is near the end of the quest you can try to argue with the student to keep the clothes (but unfortunately the mean grumpy Forum is keeping their fashion all to themselves).

I love how I can be having a totally non-feral, hinged evening working on a completely non-WTNV project, and then the very MOMENT that ‘stitch me up’ by Set it Off comes on my playlist I am IMMEDIATELY launched back into my Kevin-loving feral hours.

Admittedly its 3 am right now, so while that in itself might contribute to feral, unhinged hours, my love for Kevin is apparently quite eternal. Might work on some stuff for this blog while its in the front of my brain—and if anyone wants to send asks or requests, the askbox is always open!
