i don't know if they can be classified as mythical creatures but yukiko likes eldritch beings a lot. just cosmic horror in general is entirely up her alley and she LOVES reading stuff about it :^)

yancey doesn't drink anymore! he used to do it a lot and probably a little bit too much to the point he decided to take a step back and he's been sober for a few years now :^) he does like to have a mocktail every once in a while because he used to be a slut for cocktails in general. a mojito mocktail would be his favorite :^)

yukiko is a lightweight and because of that not allowed to drink a lot from her friends because she can get very silly very easily and do many many stupid things because of it LMAO but when she's allowed to have a little drink she will usually go for something sweet! her favorite is peach liquor which she drinks with some sprite and a lot of ice

the story begins with yancey moving to blightwood crossing because something has happened and he's no longer welcome at home because of it. the story never fully elaborates on what exactly happened, because ultimately it doesn't matter; everyone has a different perspective on the situation and nobody knows the full story, which makes it hard to determine what ACTUALLY went down and whether or not yancey is guilty of anything at all. but the main thing in there is that someone did in fact die. many would say that yancey played a significant role in it but most of them cannot be trusted or believed, and yancey never killed anyone but it would also not be fair to say that he had nothing to do with it at all. either way, the situation alienated him from his family and friends, unintentionally, mostly unfairly, and that's why he now lives in blightwood crossing and shit is about to start going down there horribly as well so basically yancey's life is fuckkkked

yukiko is known for being very kind and considerate, and she's never hurt or broken someone's trust with intention before. it has probably happened unintentionally over time since nobody is perfect, but generally she talks things out with people before the situation explodes into something bigger
