When Aaravos left early in the morning, you really had no idea what to do to keep leola entertained.

You were still new to this

Then you had an idea.

It was a Rainey day, and you and leola shared a love for it, so once she was awake and ready for the day, you guys went outside

You both ran barefoot through the wet grassy fields playing together.

Jumping in puddles, using magic to splash each other with the rain, dancing.

You both had a lot of fun out there. But then the thunder and lightning came so you both decided to head inside.

Once you got in and got dried off you started to make some food

Leola was very invested and wanted to help you, so you let her stir the food and helped her plate it.

You both had a good laugh talking about odd things over the meal. Leola was also having a lot of fun joking about her father's cooking.

He's a dork, but that's ok.

After eating, leola practically dragged you to her toys, and while you both were playing, she mentioned that she was sad her favorite doll didn't have a doll friend

Which gave you another brilliant idea.

You told her to wait right there and ran to grab a small sewing kit Aaravos had

Yeah, you knew it was for magic stuff, but who cares

The doll probably won't be cursed?

Right?

You grabbed some fabric, and you sat with leola and carefully stitched together a small little doll friend for her other one just to her liking.

It's was a cute little guy made out of maroon fabric and stuffed with hay with one button and one purple crystal for eyes, and it had a small smile.

Yes, its head was a little too big for it's body but leola didn't mind.

After it was done she immediately grabbed it and started floating around the room while you chuckled.

You were just delighted she was so happy.

After a while of introducing the dolls to each other and playing with them, it started to get late, and leola was begging you to make a fort.

And how could you say no to that.

So you stayed up past her bedtime, building a fort from pillows and blankets.

And as you both got settled inside with a book of leolas choice, she cuddled up to your side, hugging her new doll as you began to read.

When Aaravos got home about an hour later, he thought it was odd he couldn't find you both anywhere. But before he could start to worry, he saw the cracked door leading to leolas room with an odd glow coming from it.

He peaked in seeing the structure you both had built and chuckled a bit as he walked in, pulling aside the blanket you had turned into a door to reveal leola and you asleep an open book on your lap and leola curled up on your side cuddling her doll

which was the source of the glowing. He chuckled a bit once more, realizing what fabric you made it out of. It was going to be used in a dream spell, but he sees you found better use for it.

Aaravos stood their for a moment with a smile on his face before closing the fort back up and heading out into his own room.

Making sure that he never forgets the memory of the most important people in his life in such an adorable moment.

If it's alright, can I ask for a Dragon Prince request? I only got into the show recently, having seen a few scenes from the newest season, making me fall in love with Aaravos.

So my request is... Pokemon trainer!Reader x Aaravos? Remember how I said I've seen a few scenes from the new season? Yeah... *Leola*. She deserves better, so, in doing so, I suggest that after her... execution, she ends up reforming in the Pokemon verse, particularly in an ultra worm hole where Reader ends up finding her unconscious while riding on Lunala.

Basically Reader adopts Leola, promising her that she will help her return to her world and help her find her dad, which she eventually succeeds, after maybe bully Arceus a little. Cue a happy reunion between Father and daughter, and Leola being all like 'lookie I found a mom'!

Bonus points will be given if Reader catches and gives Leola a Galarian Ponyta. A unicorn for a unicorn, no?

You were the champion of both alolan and galar having saved the two regions by pokemon that were long lost to the past from history. after becoming champion you decided to take a year vacation to alola to relax with your pokemon, what you didn't now was that a new journey would start there, this time in a different world.

it was a few months into year vacation that you found a little girl passed out at the summit in poni island; the little girl didn't look human what with her skin, ears, her four fingered hand, and the one horn on her head which reminds you of rapidash and ponyta in the galar region, you didn't care that she didn't look human as she was still a little girl passed out for whatever reason that you didn't know of yet.

you took the girl to the house that you had rented for your year vacation and did you best to help her recover, you gathered herbs, all sorts of potions and your pokemon that can use healing moves so that she could heal better and faster.

about three days later the little girl woke up, obviously confused on where she was and scared. you made sure to have her be at ease so as to not injure herself as you explain to her where she is and how you found her.

you asked what had happened to have her pass out and she explains to you the best she could but panicked a little, which had you bring in some baby pokemon to help come her down before she goes into a actual panic attack. the baby pokemon being a vulpix kit that is from your alolan nintales, the other is a eevee that is also a kit from your espeon.

once she calmed down and told you what she remembered with the help of the two baby pokemon help calming her down from getting a panic attack you were shocked to what had happened to her that brought her here. you decided then and there that you would help the little girl; who you came to know as leola, in finding a way to get back to her world so that she could reunite with her father.

you spent a few more months in alola to help her and teach her get used to this new world that she appeared in. and with the help of your zoroark leola looks like a human with zoroarks ability to make illusions and such.

whenever she had nightmares on what happened to her before she got her you'd sing her lullabies and have eevee and vulpix cuddle her to comfort her as you sung lullybies so that she could be at ease and sleep better. she tells you that she never had a mother before as her father said he created her with his magic and that she was glad to have you here with her as you were like the mother she never had and wanted, which warmed your heart on her thinking of you as her mother.

(that's my theory considering how powerful aaravos is and cause there was no reveal on who the other parent is yet if there is one lol)

you soon adopted her with her permission and now she was you daughter. you did all that you could to gather information on how you can reunite her to her father before your grandmother in galar sent you a message about you visiting after your year long vacation which is almost over, you let leola know that you'll be visiting your grandmother and if she wanted to meet her which she agreed to excitedly to meet someone new which you found adorbale and sweet that she hasn't changed after her traumatic experience she told you about.

after the end of your year long vacation you and leola packed up for galar to meet with your grandmother; you told your grandmother that you have someone for her to meet but first you'd like her to explore galar before you two finally meet with her. your grandmother agreed to that but said not to be late which you sweat dropped at and chuckled before telling her you'll try not to be late.

it was fun exploring galar again as it was like when you first started the gym challenges here but this time with your daughter, of course you two had a few hicuups as she got overstimulated a few times, to which you had help from headphones you got her just in case and by the help of vulpix and eevee. you also had zoroark stop the disguise as you both would be in the wild and there wasn't as much humans out there as some pokemon would attacked them if they didn't have any strong pokemon protecting them.

at some point through exploring you're met with a herd of galarian rapidash's and ponyta's, the two pokemon fascinated leola which you noticed, you manged coaxed one of the ponyta foals to come towards you and leola, thankfully from what you know by the pokedex the foal didn't mind coming closer to you two which made leola excited and happy which also made you happy she gets to experince this, right then and there you decided to catch the ponyta that came towards you two for leola since she seemed to have grown attached to the region variant pokemon already.

you showed her two pokeballs; a regular one and a love ball, you asked her to choose and she picked the love ball. after she chose the ball you gently held it out to theponyta, the ponyta seemed to have gotten the idea after looking back at it's future evolution who had been watching since you two came into the opening, the ponyta looked back to you both and gently tapped the love ball with it's snout and disappearing into the pastel ball, you gave the ball to leola and told her that it's her pokemon now which shocked her before she hugged you and thanked you over and over that you had to stop her from thanking you so much, you did so with a laugh and a smile before bringing her into a hug.

after exploring a bit more and catching another pokemon; a cutiefly to be specific, it was time for you and leola to meet up with your grandmother who seemed to also have someone for you to meet. you had zoroark put the illusion of leola's human disguise back on and went into the flying taxi you called to take you to ballonlea.

you two met up with your grandmother at her gym as she is the fairy type gym leader in the galar region; her name being opal. you greeted her and gave her kisses on her cheeks; making sure to be mindful of her makeup as to not ruin it and get it in your mouth, and gave her a hug. you introduced her to leola who was patiently waiting to greet your grandmother. your grandmother also introduced bede; apparently he became her succesor in the year you were in alola for your vacation, which you commented on how you guessed both of you had a eventful year then and she agreed.

you let leola and bede alone as you talked to your grandmother about how you came to adopting her as she had asked and after getting permission from leola to talk about it to her you told your grandmother. your grandmother reaction was like yours but unlike you who held that reaction in to not unsettle leola your grandmother freely displayed it in front of you as you both moved somewhere else to have some privacy talking about leola's past. she was happy to have you be in that girl's life and agreed with your decision to adopt leola, she joked that her father would definitely marry you after he reunites with his daughter, which you blush and tell her to stop joking around, but part of you wonder if that were to happen and you kinda hoped it would, what you didn't know was that your grandmother knew something that you didn't.

you decided to leave leola with your grandmother and bede as you wanted to do something that might help you find out how to get leola back to her world so that her and her father could reunite with each other.

what you were going to do is contact arceus so that it will make a portal or have one of it's mythical or legendary pokemon create one so that you can return leola where she belongs; with her father.

after many words back and forth between you and the god of pokemon and creator of pokemon and humans; you wouldn't necessarily say you bullied arceus but you indeed bullied arceus, you also told the alpha pokemon leola's backstory on how she got here, arceus was furious to say the least.

arceus told you that it would help all that it can to finding a way to return leola to her world and reunite her with her father. after you left he had hoopa and jirachi travel to that world if they can; thankfully arceus had previously asked what things are in that world to help identify it as the world leola came from.

hoopa and jirachi was able to find what they hope is the correct world as it had what was listed by you and given to them by arceus. they strangely enough appeared in what seems to be a room that is fit as a dungeon, but this dungeon had a mirror in it. jirachi told hoopa to try and teleport the two inside the mirror. once inside they were met with what seems to be a study room full of books and a desk with a chair to match in the room.

hoopa had flown around the room in curiosity and mischief, leaving jirahi be the responsible one in making sure hoopa doesn't break anything. a few minutes past by before a presence came in that wasn't theirs. the person; or rather elf, questioned on who they are, what they are and how they got here.

hoopa was the one to speak first and explained though jirachi gave the missing information that hoopa seemed to have forgotten. at first the elf didn't by it but what with the picture that the two borrowed from you that had you and leola in it which shocked the elf as last the elf knew leola had died. the elf introduced himself as aaravos; the father of leola, the girl in the picture they had. jirachi and hoopa was happy they got the right world as they were worried that they had gotten the wrong one when they teleported into that dungeon like room.

hoopa had opened up a ring connected to their world where leola and you are. aaravos can't go through the ring as it seems him being imprisoned in whatever his prison also kept him from going through the ring jirachi and hoopa decided to make the ring appear as liie a sort of video call that they seen the humans have in their technology.

back to you. you had just gotten back from visiting and bullying arceus when you see your grandmother had given leola a ralts which made you sigh with a smile as you knew your grandmother would try and spoiler her especially being told about her past trauma with this 'council' before you found her. you told leola that you also got a gift for her which got her excited, you mentioned it was two gifts actually and told her to close her eyes. when you told her to open them she sees vulpix and eevee sitting in front of her with bows around their neck like a gift, she was confused at first so you explained that you were giving the two to her. eevee and ralts would help by being service pokemon to her after they become trained and registered to do so and it'll help her with her trauma that she had before she got sent to this world.

when a ring had appeared in front of your face you were shocked and startled at first but realized soon after what's happening when jirachi and hoopa showed up through the ring on the other side of the ring. the two told me that they had found leola's dad which shocked me what with how fast they had worked as it's only been two hours since i talked to arceus about all of this.

they lead me to the man that claimed to be leola's father and i have to say he was quite the charming gentleman who was very handsome and have a deep voice that flusters you as they were slightly said in a seductive like tone that made you blush, you tried to carry on and get to the important matter at hand, that being leola and how she was doing.

you informed him of all that's happened in the year leola has been in your care since she arrived to your world, you explained what she had done while staying and how you had made sure to help her in any way that you could and doing your best to help reunite her with him after however long the two of them had been apart for.

you two talked more and he explained on what happened to what leola didn't know which helped you understand the story more and it made you dislike the council even more than before.

after some more talking jirachi and hoopa had stopped the interaction once they think it was time to leave; they were mostly bored and tired of you both talking to each other and hitting it off after two hours so they thought it was enough time to get what was said and left

this time instead of more talking between you and aaravos jirachi and hoopa had him only looking through the ring, he watched as leola had fun with the pokemon both you and your grandmother had given her and see how she learned new things especially since she's in another world and that world didn't have some of the things she learned and experienced.

it has been some time since jirachi and hoopa stopped visiting him, so in that time he had viren do many things to try and set himself free from his prison. though viren seemed to have had a change of heart after his first death but aaravos did his best to continue pushing viren to do what he needed to do to set aaravos free from his prison. after viren went back to katolis he had Claudia help in releasing him. she did so after finding out her father's death and how he too had a daughter that was wrongfully killed, he didn't mention on how he recently found out she's alive and well in another world as he thinks she wouldn't break him out if that was the case so he told her half the truth; a white lie really.

when he finally was released with the help of claudia he went to the same size that he was when he was still trap in that prison he was forced into.

the reason jirachi and hoopa stopped visiting aaravos was because you and leola was in that world, you had gotten a idea and had hoopa open a ring to that world for you and leola to go through so that you could reunite leola with her father without having jirachi and hoopa going back and forth to communicate between both worlds and so leola could finally reunite after confirming that the world leola was from can be traveled to.

you and leola met with some interesting people their names being ezran, callum, rayla, soren and corvus. you explained to them about finding leola's father and was wondering if they seen him; they all had skeptical faces as they can see how sweet leola was so they couldn't believe that she's aaravos's daughter. you explained them leol's past on how you adopted her and how lost her to the council decision to punish her for giving human magic which made them understood on why aaravos was doing all of this now, for revenge on the injustice that the council brought onto his daughter.

they decided to help you and leola as this could mean that they could possibly stop aaravos this way as he was doing all of this to get out and take revenge against his daughter death; though thankfully she's alive so reuniting the two could stop him from bring chaose to the human kingdoms and xadia.

after reuniting leola with her father and stopping him from doing anymore damage to the world it seemed that your and leola presences had disrupted startouch elf order or so the council says when they arrived to the mortal realm and theyu come to take care of it like they did before.

before they could do anything their attack was blocked by arceus who protected you and leola from being killed by the council. arceus had told them that they were in the wrong as you were of it's world and not theirs and that they have wrongfully accused both you and leola for just being caring people and now arceus would judge them for trying to kill one of it's creations along with your adopted daughter.

the council decided to put up a fight and so arceus brought some of the legendaries and mythicals to help out in defending you and leola. the legendaries and mythical's being; not including arceus, Xerneas, necrozma, your lunala, sogaleo, and mew, as they all heard about what happened to leola and what the council did to her. and so after arceus and the legendarias and mythicals ttook careof them and left it was now back to the group of human, elves, and dragons.

a few months later and after aaravos accepted and done his punishment (which i'll leave up to y'all to decide) for causing so much chaos everything returned to normal and for the better. the humans, elves, and dragons all came together and made a truce now learning from the mistake in the past and grew together into a better kingdom after reconnecting the kingdoms. you and aaravos became closer in that time and started sharing feelings for each other, soon becoming a couple and parents to leola.

aaravos had met your grandmother and lets just say it was a interesting meeting; she quizzed him on many things, whatever came to her mined she quizzed him on it whether it was about you, leola, pokemon, his intentions, everything. afterwards the three of you traveled back and forth through both worlds, though aaravos and leola both had to have a disguise but you hope that change in the future. you can say that you wouldn't change this for anything else though as it's more precious than any other thing you could think of.

Soulmate

Note: I literally didn't know Tom's mom was alive until i was already writing this. Just don't think about it.

Tom didn't believe in soulmates. He did, once. Before his mom died.

He can remember laying in his bed while she read him some bedtime story- something cheesy, where the main characters lived happily ever after, and the hero of the story called the love interest their soulmate.

“What's a soulmate?”

She'd looked down at him curiously as she thought, shutting the book closed. In the moment, he was so sure it was such a powerful thing that she was having trouble putting it into words.

As he grew up, it felt more like she was trying to make it feel more magical than it was.

“A soulmate… is like your best friend. Someone who will stick by you through everything. Who would drop just about anything for you. Who loves you just as much as you love them. Like your dad and me. You just… click.” 

He'd scrunched his face up, disgusted at the idea of love, of his mom and dad kissing, and she'd laughed at him, putting him to bed for the night.

It was about a year later, when he was in the hospital, watching doctors try and call his father while other doctors tried frantically to keep his mom from succumbing to her injuries from the hovercar crash, when the illusion of soulmates started to fade.

Most of the girls he dated were nice, sure. But he’d never really felt that click. Nothing that special. He liked them. They got along. That was enough.

None of them stayed, either. Which, when he landed himself in the penal colony, he figured that was for the best. Nobody to miss, nobody to miss him. Admiral Paris certainly didn’t.

Being recruited for Voyager didn’t really change any of those thoughts. And aside from Harry, no one was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt anyway.

He first met you after the dust settled- once they were far enough from the explosion and the Ocampa homeworld that everyone could breathe and settle into the new normal.

With both Harry and B’Elanna putting in extra hours helping on necessary repairs, he was taking his dinner alone. Some awful leola root stew that he could barely stomach, but he had to be careful with his rations. He might end up needing something big. Or Neelix could cook something even worse.

He shivered at the thought.

He’d been pulled from his loathing musings by the clink of a tray being set down at his table. When he glanced up, he met your eyes. You were dressed in a yellow-topped uniform, one gold pip pinned to your collar.

“Hello, Ensign.”

“Lieutenant.” You’d taken your seat, looking down at your tray. “Enjoying tonight’s menu?”

“Enjoying is a stretch.” He’d poked at it, listening to the way you snorted at him. “It’s erring on the side of edible.”

“Surely that’s dramatic.” He’d blanched as you took a big bite with your spoon, paling quickly and trying not to cough. “It’s- it’s quite edible, actually.”

He’d almost laughed then, wholly amused with the way you were trying to convince him, or maybe even yourself, that you could eat the dish no problem. It was almost comical.

“Right. My bad.”

You’d offered him a smile, busy taking a drink from your water. “Hope I’m not interrupting your brooding.”

“Brooding?” He scoffed.

“Yes, brooding. It’s all you’ve done since you arrived on board.”

“Have you been watching me?”

“No.” You snorted. “No, this corner just always has this awful foreboding energy coming from it.”

“Foreboding?” He’s incredulous now, and rightfully so. “It’s not foreboding.”

“Why do you think the tables around you are empty?”

“Because,” he’d leaned forwards conspiratorially, “no one wants to be associated with an add-on from a penal colony.”

“Bah.” You tried another bite of your soup with a frown. “As if that makes you any worse than anyone else here.”

“Makes me worse than a good chunk of the people here.” He’d almost smiled as he leaned back.

“Maquis, Starfleet,” you’d shrugged, “I don’t see why it matters. As long as we’re all trying to get home, it’s all the same to me.”

He raised a brow at you. Novel thought. “Not everyone sees it that way.”

“They should. What’s the point in fighting amongst ourselves when we just need to get back in one piece?”

You’d talked together much too long, only pulling away from the conversation when Neelix dimmed the mess hall lights, looking a tad embarrassed. He’d learned quite a bit about you- you were security personnel. You’d done your physical training in America. Your family was very close, and you, like most of Voyager, were dreading the long ride.

You shot him a smile as you got up, taking your tray to dispose of it. “I’ll see you around, Paris.”

You were gone before he could think of a reason to walk you to your quarters.

The next time he sees you is at Sandrine’s. You’d come in off-duty, while they were keeping the program running to people to have breaks as often as they needed. He’d been busy- surely you had too. He’d seen you around, sure, but you hadn’t really had time to chat. 

He smiled, ordering a couple of drinks from the lady of the bar before coming over, drinks in hand, handing you one. “Welcome to Sandrine’s.”

You’d looked down at the drink skeptically. “What is this?”

“Sex on the beach.” Your ears flushed, but the look on your face didn’t change. “I figured a drink where you don’t really taste the liquor was safe.”

You nodded, taking a long drink before looking up at him again. “So this is Sandrine’s.”

He swept his arm out, presenting the space to you. “Plenty of pool tables and darts.”

“Do you play pool?”

He scoffed. “Do I play pool? I did my physical training in the same city as this place, of course I do.”

“Play me.” You headed for an empty pool table, and he stifled a grin.

“I won’t go easy on you.”

“I’d be offended if you tried.”

You’d practically mopped the floor with him. “Ah, I let you win.”

“Bullshit,” you laughed at him, a sweet, mirthful sound, and all he could think is that, God, he wanted to hear that again.

“I did!”

“A rematch then. Once you fetch us a couple more drinks.” You began re-racking the table, and he grinned, setting the pool cue down and heading to order a couple more drinks from Sandrine.

“Who’s that?” 

He almost jumped, glancing at Harry. “...An Ensign. In tactical.”

“You’re spending a lot of time together.”

“It’s a couple rounds of pool.”

“Is that the same Ensign you spent hours with in the mess?”

He flushed a little, trying to shake it away as he took the drinks. “You’re looking into it too much, Harry.” He motioned back to the dart board. “And you’re losing.”

He darted away while Harry’s attention was turned, bringing drinks back over. “Hope you don’t mind a plain screwdriver.”

You took it with a little smile. “Thank you. Your break.”

He lost. Again. 

“Well now you’re just getting lucky.”

“Keep telling yourself that, Paris.” You grinned at him, pushing some stray hair back as you checked the time. “I gotta ditch.”

“Tired already?”

“Paris, it’s 0100.”

He checked the time. Oh. It was. 

“I’ll see you.”

He looked up, but once again, you were gone before he could say much more.

But, unlike the first time, you started to seek him out more often. Or maybe he was seeking you out. He wasn’t really sure. It didn’t really matter either.

You were wedging yourself in wherever you could- mostly mealtime of course, but slowly, you started hanging out outside of the mess. First the holodeck. Then, his quarters. Never yours- you’d told him once you didn’t like having people in your space all the time. You’d never offered, and he never asked. He liked having you in his space, anyway. You just sort of… clicked, it felt like.

You’d said as much, once. Huddled on the opposite side of the couch from him, wearing casual clothes, the first day off duty you’d both had line up. You’d agreed to one Scooby-Doo movie marathon, and you seemed to be enjoying yourself.

“You know,” he’d turned his head to look at you as you spoke, “I actually like having you around.” Your tone sounded like this was some novel concept.

He’d barked a laugh at you, shaking his head. “Is that shocking or something?”

“Just didn’t expect to like you that much.”

Your eyes were trained on the viewscreen, so you probably didn’t see the look on his face when his heart skipped a full beat. Honestly, it wasn’t as romantic a feeling as he thought it would be. He felt a little like he was dying.

“Well, get used to it. Everyone likes me that much.”

“Right.” You peeked at him, looking much too amused for his liking. “Name one person-”

He opened his mouth to speak.

“-Besides Harry.”

He gave you a mock-offended look. “B’Elanna.”

Later, he’d recognize the way you deflated, but in the moment, all he saw was the way you shrugged, returning your gaze to the movie. “Touche.”

You’d left as soon as that movie ended. He’d almost whined, since you were supposed to stay much longer- it was only 1700- but he didn’t, just walking you to the door and trying not to wilt at your terse goodbye.

It’s maybe a week later he decides he’s going to ask you on a date. He’s either got to try or he’ll lose his chance, he figures, and he’d rather say he tried.

That’s also the day you tell him about your date with Nozawa.

“A date? With Nozawa?” He scoffs, shaking his head. “All he does is spend time in the gym.”

“It’s nice to have a hobby,” you shrugged.

“Is pulling muscles a hobby?”

You swatted at his arm. “Be nice, Thomas, I’m telling you because I’m looking for support.”

“I’m being supportive. I’m just saying you could do better.”

You scoffed, shaking your head at him. “I have to go get ready.” You moved to get up from the table, and he felt a little empty.

“Have fun!” Harry called his encouragement after you before turning to look at him. “Dude. Really?”

“Really what?”

“You know what. It’s not her fault you took too long to ask her out.”

He scoffed again, digging at his food.

“...But she could probably do better.”

It was just two hours later he opened the door to his quarters to see you, looking irritated. Your hair was… puffy, was how he’d describe it. You were wearing a shiny, halter top jumpsuit with flared legs.

“...What kind of date was that?”

“Disco.” You shoves past him into his quarters, taking his neat whiskey and downing it, despite his protests.

“What is up with you?” He asks, incredulous. “Was the date that bad?”

“You were right.”

“What?”

“It was boring.” You look at him, and, for a moment, he could swear you were about to hit him.

“I’ve never heard of a boring disco,” he tries, hoping to temper your irritation.

“He wouldn’t even dance with me.”

That takes him a minute to process, gears whirring in his brain as he looks you up and down. “Why would he even bring you to a disco then? I think dancing is, like, a given.” He moves past you, further into his quarters, retrieving you each a water, handing yours over as you thanked him.

“Beats me. And, I mean, the music is so loud in those things-”

“-Can’t even talk if you wanted to,” he finishes for you, sympathetic as he sits down on one side of his couch, motioning for you to sit.

He’s shocked when you sit directly beside him, leaning into his side.

“You feeling alright, butterscotch?” A nickname he’d settled on based purely on your yellow uniform.

“I’m just… this is so annoying.”

“Yeah, most boring dates are. You can probably just let him know it's not a good match.”

“Oh, I think he knows.” You sound miffed, and he looks down at you.

“What do you mean?”

“I told him I was leaving because I was fucking bored.” He’s stunned by this revelation, giving you a doubtful look.

“No you didn’t.”

“Oh yes, I did.”

He stares at you for another few minutes, shaking his head. “Why would you say that?”

“Because it was true.”

“Are you drunk?”

“No.” You roll your eyes.

“You know he’s gonna tell people you said that.”

“Yup.”

“Word travels fast, small ship.”

“I know.”

“Your dating chances, totally squandered.”

“Or maybe I’ll get more interesting dates.”

“I could plan a more interesting date.”

There’s an odd stillness in the air as you turn to look up at him. “You could, could you?”

“Yeah. I’d at least dance with you. That gives me points over Nozawa already.”

“That’s the bare minimum.”

“I’d use saved up holodeck time and do something like a beach date. Get some ice cream, walk the shore… maybe push you in.”

You snort, shaking your head at him. “Pushing me in isn’t a good first date.”

“But you’d laugh.” He reaches to tuck some of your hair back. “I like your laugh. You’d laugh harder if I fell in with you.”

You lean towards his hand, and his eyes flick down towards your mouth. You pull up to kiss him, and he wraps an arm around your shoulders to hold you close, despite the briefness of the kiss.

“Take me on one then.”

“Huh?”

“A date. Take me on one.” You give him a shove, and he laughs.

“Okay. Easy. How about tomorrow?”

“I thought you’d need some holodeck time saved up?”

“I’ve been saving up holodeck time to ask you on a date. Just say yes.”

Your face softens, and he can’t help grinning wider.

“Yes, idiot.”

You pulled him in for another kiss, and he could almost hear something sort of click together in his head.

Maybe… maybe he could believe in soulmates. If it was you.

It was a beautiful day out, and you and Aaravos were just chilling out studying the universe and all of its secrets with no worries in the world

That was until your 16 year old daughter Leola walked in looking a little too nervous for your taste

"Hey, mom..dad.I have something to tell you!" She says with an awkward smile as she waves her hands up and down in front of her, a nervous stim she's had since she was a little girl.

But it just makes you and your husband more concerned

You look at Aaravos with confusion and concern and are a little disappointed when he gives you the same look back before you both turn towards leola once more.

"What did you do?" Aaravos asks

"Did you kill someone? It's ok if you did, we can help you take care of that." You join in with a straight-face

"Yes, if that's the case, don't worry, me and your mother can handle that. It was probably only an accident!" Aaravos agrees as you as you both stand up and approach your daughter.

"What? No! I didn't hurt. Or kill anyone! I just wanted to tell you that me and Michael decided that we want to be together! ( I decided cause I'm lazy that the boy holding her hand in the picture that I made the title card is gonna be her partner for this!)

You and Aaravos share a look of shock.

Like, excuse me. Your little unicorn has a boyfriend? YOUR DAUGHTER?

"Wait, who is Michael again?" You ask; the name sounds familiar, but it's hard for you to remember all of the Leolas friends as she makes so many new ones all the time.

Aaravos, on the other hand, is too busy trying to comprehend what his sweet daughter said. He doesn't even hear you ask her who Michael is. he just folds his hands together like a prayer, lifting them up to his face with eyes so wide they look like they are about to pop out of the socket

In response to your question,leola rolls her eyes and walks out the front door before rentering, pulling a tall human boy into your house by the arm. Once leola releases him, he gives a little wave. "Hello, there!" He says nervously with a smile laced with a bit of fear.

NOW you remember him. He is one of Leola's childhood friends. They used to play outside together with all the others. Before you can say anything, though, Aaravos speaks first.

"No, absolutely not. No. It was nice meeting you, boy." He says with a straight face. You give him a small slap on the arm and a stern look

"What? Dad, what do you mean?" Leola asks in confusion

"No. Just No." He says again.

"Why not? Are you mad he's a human or something?" Leola shoots back. Before it can escalate though, you interfere

" That has nothing to do with. It has to do with the fact that he looks at least 30." (Please tell me you get the reference, lol)

"DAD HES MY AGE! YOU'VE MET HIM BEFORE!" Leola shouts, which honestly gives you the sign to stop this before it gets out of hand

"Okayyy that's enough." You say to them.

You mouth a small apology to leola and Michael before you grab your husband and go to the next room for a moment, and as you're walking out, you see leola facepalm before crossing her arms in frustration. Michael quickly jumped to her aid. He gets a few points for that

Once you get into the next room and close the door you scold the fuck out of your husband

"Aaravos, what is your problem? You know damn well he's not 30! If you don't stop and give the kid a chance, I'm gonna knock you out."

"You won't even have the chance to knock me out before -"

"Oh my gods, once again, what is your problem it's completely normal for kids there, age -"

"I still don't like it!"

"Why not cause it's a human boy she brought home?"

"I never said that!"

"Well, that's what she's getting from it!"

"I don't like it 'cause She is my little girl. I'm not having some human boy mess up her life. she's not ready for that torment."

"Oh, she is fine. It's some puppy love, and she's known that boy for years he wouldn't hurt her! besides, there is nothing we can do about it that won't drive her away from us!"

"Oh, there is definitely something I CAN do about it.-" "Oh, don't you even think about it. That won't end well for anybody!"

"Yes, it will. It will end well for you, Leola, and me"

"If you touch one hair on that boy's head, you're sleeping outside. May the gods strike me down if I'm lying!"

"I suppose they will have to! Cause I'm not allowing this."

"No, we are not doing that. We are going to go out there. Talk to them like adults. And make a decision based on facts and information they provide!"

Your overlapping arguments end up being overheard in the next room, where Leola and Michael are standing. She covers her face with her hand and shakes her head back and forth in embarrassment as Michael reassures her it's fine.

This goes on for a while before you exit the room with a victorious smile. Aaravos follows behind you with a disapproving sigh. Yet he still complies

You decide to sit down and talk. Asking (interrogating) Michael about his life, his family, his intentions with his daughter (Aaravos),

Michael was a farm boy from next door. He had been friends with Leola for years, but he was a shy kid and tended to blend in with the group (which explains why you and Aaravos forgot he existed)

after a nice conversation (plus some cryptic threats)(Aaravos), you both come to the decision to allow them to continue dating. But you and Aaravos insisted on meeting this boy's parents.

Leola is honestly so happy that you guys didn't care that he was human. She was just a little peeved that her dad was being overprotective.

By the way, that never stops. He is always going to be overprotective of his little girl. No matter if she is 16 or 9000, he is always gonna be ready to hide a dead body for her, and you are right there with him.

But anyways

The sun had just peaked when you woke up feeling a lot more irritable than normal. Which was a sign to you that the next week was going to be a nightmare, as you and your teenage daughter had synced.

You reluctantly look over towards the window and roll your eyes at the light poking through.

Yes, we have curtains up, but you swear they can never close all of the way, and it pisses you off to no extent.

But since there is nothing you can do about it. You just groan in frustration, covering your face with your hands before turning to look at your husband, who lays peacefully next to you in bed

You are always jealous of him. because he sleeps and wakes up so pretty, and you always say you wake up looking like you fought 3 wars, then had a night out in a tavern. But besides that, you're jealous that he doesn't have to feel like the gods are mid-fistfight with your uterus.

Just as you're about to get up, you hear your daughter in the kitchen. A few seconds pass, and you hear the sound of one of your plates hitting the ground.

as the sound of the shattering glass hits your ears, Aaravos shoots up, and you fall back into the mattress as fast as you can.

Cause they got you all the way fucked up if they think you're dealing with that in this condition

Sorry Leola yo daddy's coming for you.

It's probably for the best today. Those were cute plates, and you're a little pissed that one is now broken

In the kitchen, Aaravos walks in to see one of your NICE ass crystal plates shattered and an irritated leola floating above the mess

And this shit is broke broke. There are no hella big pieces to pick up; it's all small shards, and they are everywhere. So Aaravos pushes leola to the side and uses a quick spell on the broom so it will sweep up on its own as he tries talking to his daughter.

"How did this even happen?"

"I don't even know. I opened the cabinet, and it fell onto the floor when I tried to grab the one under it." She starts saying in a quickened, frustrated tone

"Well, why would you try to grab the one under it in the first place," Aaravos says, rolling his eyes and pinching the bridge of his nose for a moment. For him, it's too early for this bullshit.

"Because the one on top might have dust on it? Everybody knows that, dad!" Leola says, getting more annoyed.

"Girl, lower your damn tone with me. I'm not the one who broke your mother's plate." He says, narrowing his eyes at her. She just groans, getting more frustrated.

"Well, it wasn't my fault! It was just an accident!" She shoots back at him.

"Who's accident was it if it wasn't your fault? Because I would really like to talk to the person who I'm cleaning up broken crystal after right now. At 7 o'clock in the morning." Aaravos says in amusement with a raised eyebrow.

Leola just rolls her eyes and floats out of the kitchen with a " well you missed a spot" as Aaravos stands there chuckling to himself.

He does not feel bad about talking back to yall during hell week.

He loves both Leola and you to death, and he will help all and try and accommodate you both to the best of his abilities, but he will sass back and get some attitude if Leola and you do

As he stands across the kitchen, watching his little magic broom clean up, you walk in

" Why is there a floating broom cleaning. Do We have to rely on magic for everything?" You say approaching him.

"If you don't want me doing it with magic, you can be my guest to do it manually. Because I don't think Leola is going to." He says with a smirk

You're gagged, honestly. Are you supposed to come up with something witty this early in the morning, like you already feel like you're getting stabbed? You don't have time for that

You just avert your gaze and go to the other side of the room to get some food.

" If you want, I would be happy to make something." Aaravos offers

"Oh, I keep forgetting you can cook. Yes, that would be lovely"

That smug face he was making drops before you could snap your fingers.

"Excuse me?"

A little while later, he is sitting there flipping some pancakes, and you and Leola appear over his shoulder

"You flipped that one a little early it's a kinda light. I like em dark golden, not light golden," Leola starts.

"Then eat one of the other ones. There's 10 on the plate right there." He says back quickly

" You poured that one on their weird pancakes are supposed to be circular," you say, pointing out a wonky-looking one

" Oh really. I didn't know that." He replies sarcastically

" How the hell didn't you know that? You gettin' old or something -" Leola starts. She was never good at understanding sarcasm

You quickly cover her mouth with your hand. " Watch your damn mouth, girl. Don't be talking to your father like that."

"Thank you-"

"but she is right what the fuck kinda shape is that I've never seen anything like it?"

You both are kicked out of the kitchen until it's time to eat

After the morning passes and all eat, it gets better, and even apologize for SOME of the things you said

The afternoon is pretty chill. You all kinda do your own thing, Aaravos researches in his study while you read a book next to him, and Leola goes out with some friends.

Everything is pretty nice

Until night comes

He doesn't even tell you guys he's cooking dinner. He doesn't wanna hear it.

He didn't account for your scary ass sense of smell.

You and Leola enter that room looking like the twins from the shining
