Pairning: Lion Shifter x fem reader (First-Person POV)

Summary: I found a lion shifter collapsed beneath a tree, wounded and snarling. The last thing he expects is kindness. But I take him in, nurse him, feed him, and let him heal. Ruhk is fierce and wary, doesn’t leave. He stays. And each day, the line between danger and desire blurs.

I've imagined the lion shifter as mostly human, but touched with subtle lion traits. This time, I wrote the reader in first person to pull you in deep and make the experience more immersive. Reader's POV

Day One.

The first time I saw him, I thought he was some kind of wild animal; bleeding, snarling, crouched low beneath the gnarled roots of an oak tree. Mud caked his skin.

I didn’t ask questions. I just got him home and took care of his injuries.

Day Two.

Morning light striped the couch where he was sprawled, tail twitching over the edge like an irritated cat’s. That low, constant growl thrummed in his chest as I entered. His eyes snapped open; gold, alert, tracking my every move.

Day Four.

He was still here. Even if he was fully healed. He insisted on returning my kindness by helping me out with the house.

Day Seven.

Ruhk stood bathed in dawn light at my window, shirtless, wearing only his worn trousers. His tail flicked once. “I should go.”

I stepped close. Too close. Heat rolled off him, thick as smoke. My nipples tightened against my thin tank top. I didn't want him to go.I'd gotten used to him, his low growls, his quiet but strong presence. The way he looked so mighty but treated me so gently.

"You don't have to leave."

Two weeks.

By then, it wasn’t just him helping me or sleeping on the couch. Things were evolving. Something had changed between us, was blooming dangerously fast.

One night, he came to my bed. He did nothing but hold me like I was the only thing in the world that soothed the beast under his skin. His heat engulfed me from behind in my narrow bed, one massive arm banding across my ribs. His breath stirred my hair.

Then… it started. A deep, resonant purr vibrated through his chest, rumbling against my spine.

I smiled into the dark, arching back into him. God, yes.

One month.

We grew closer. Cohabitating.

That night, a storm screamed outside. Power was dead. Only candlelight flickered as I fumbled with the kettle on the gas stove. Suddenly, heat engulfed me; Ruhk’s chest against my back, his thick arms locking around my waist. His nose buried into the curve of my neck, inhaling deep, a soft purr tearing from him.

"Smells like home," he rasped, lips scraping my pulse point.
