Can’t see jmj ever doing such a queer coded concept but a girl can dream. Not sure if it’s then just trying to appeal to lesbian fans or something seulrene really wanted to do but I have seen some debate about whether it queer baiting though. I wonder what your thoughts are if you have any?

i'll be honest, i don't think i have adequate knowledge of queerbaiting as a topic and how it's been done in various forms of media and the corresponding critiques about it. neither do i have a good enough repertoire of queer media consumed under my belt... so i can't give a good answer here... the queerbaiting allegations have been levied against i&s since monster. the homoerotic optics are there, after all. but i will say it's quite easy to... adapt (?) concepts that can plausibly be appreciated as homoerotic regardless if it is actually there or not when it is applied to duos. like, here are two devastatingly attractive people constantly in close proximity to each other and no one else, who sing and perform songs which may be interpreted as romantic/sexual. they might not be directing it to each other as written by its lyricist or choreographed by its performance director, but when you are seeing only two people on stage or in a music video, does it matter? look at the most popular studio choom mix & max performances (enha, itzy) and other well-received pair dances (dare i say, 2yu's performance), there's quite a fine line between decalcomania and mind/body control type of concepts and homoerotic/bdsm interpretations of them, at least in the eyes of casual viewers

but again, what do i know hahaha i need to study more about queer coding

sorry for mentioning omy any time anyone talks about aesthetics they liked in anything ever but that was seriously #It for me… the angst the fashion the colouring both concepts for the album (thank u gay & beaten up photoshoot). rv chill kill was gorjest also but i think my favourite concept of theirs was actually peekaboo they’ve had the most hits across the board for me though. and shinee 1 of 1 idgaf that everyone involved forgot it happened i loved the retro‼️

i don’t really pay attention to choreo enough to have real favourites i either like them or i don’t 😭….. but i liked the version of love talk wayv did at nct nation a loooott & i love turn back time these days but that might be your influence. taemin criminal ofc a classic for a reason. loona butterfly… shinee lucifer… and naughty thank you seulrene forever

hyo and yangyang are so funny to me for no reason so thats #1 rn. i feel like listing taeten is cheating because they’re in the same group but seriously let’s do that again… heart stop taemin ft seulgi and while we’re here their collab stage was everything i’m so sad we’re never getting one again!!! & tri-angle by tvxq ft boa & trax remains on rotation forever

INTRO TO HAPPINESS

Hi! My name is Wood or Berry (artistic name), I’m 19, use they/them pronouns and my main blog is @wooden-surface.

As you can probably already guess, I really like Red Velvet (if you don’t know they’re a kpop girlgroup that debuted back in 2014), and decided to make a blog to talk about them and their music (in the most respectfull way possible, I just want to share my appreciation with other tumblrs). So yeah! It’s that simple.

• My bias is Wendy but I care about all members, ot5 forever.

• I’ve been listening regularly since 2021, but I discovered them back in 2020.

• The first song I listened of the was Peek-A-Boo, followed by Ice Cream Cake (which sounded extremely familiar to me). I think this was 2019, I was courious about kpop and listened to a bit of a lot of groups.

• The first song I listened of them on the regular was Psycho (during 2020). Also Power Up for some reason.

• The first comeback I saw was Monster by Seulrene (Seulgi and Irene). • The first album I listened as a whole was Russian Roulette in 2021.

• I then became addicted to Dumb Dumb (The Red is probably one of my favorite eras) and other singles.

• My first comeback as a luvie was thus Queendom.

Once I start making post I will tag them by member, era and will put them here since tumblr is broken.

Please no fanfics (I don’t think they’re inherently bad but this blog is not their place), shipping or ANY discussion about their sexual lives.
