Gideon quickly grabbed hold of the suggestion, turning to James and Peter to begin discussing details. But Remus pulled Sirius aside, staring at him confusedly. "Pads, we don't have plans to visit my mum! Unless you two have been sending letters without me again?"

"Nah," Sirius shrugged, "it's just that the full moon is set for the end of July."

Remus blinked, shocked. "Sirius, that's four months away. How do you know-?"

"I have all the dates memorized like six months out. Just in case," Sirius said simply, smiling a bit.

And all Remus could do was kiss him gently on the cheek. Because he still couldn't fathom how he ended up so lucky.

Since the design material collection books finally arrived, I was able to scan some of the pages and visualize the demon's heights. Some of them are officially stated while for others, I had to approximate based on comparison. Explanation for each of those is stated below.

First of are Muzan (179 cm), Kokushibo (190 cm), Doma (187 cm) and Akaza (173 cm). Their heights are all officially stated in the Demon Corps Records.

Next are Hantengu (166 cm), Gyokko (between 150 and 170 cm in his vase), Daki (~ 178 cm) and Gyutaro (~ 190 cm). The later two don't have an official height mentioned but the size of the head is a good measure to compare the characters in the official designs. Daki is of course taller because of her shoes, while in the anime, Gyutaro is hunched over a lot. But from the image of the design material from the Entertainment District Arc which I've used, you can see what his height is standing straight, or at least as straight as physically possible for him.

I'd like to add that while Gyokko's height is known, if you go based off the official art, he can be taller than 170 cm, depending on how straight he positions himself and how far he comes out of his vase.

Hantengu's clones

Looking at the clones next, you can see Zohakuten (~ 165 cm) and first-split Sekido and Karaku (~ 190 cm). Zohakuten's height is more or less official since we are shown the direct comparison with Tanjiro. The other two were again compared with the head sizes and proportions.

Second-split Sekido and Karaku as well as Aizetsu and Urogi are generally the same size (~ 190 cm) since their proportions don't really change. However, Urogi's anatomy generally affects his height, but not too much as when he's standing on his legs, his hips would be around the same height as the others'.

The smallest of the clones is the main body / fear clone (~ 19 cm). The tallest being Urami (~ 260 cm) who is seen directly next to Tanjiro in the design material.

Gyokko's height when morphed

Morphed / true-form Gyokko (~ 215 cm) is directly compared to Muichiro whose height is known (160 cm), making a visualization of his size easy.

The Bakunawa [Filipino mythology]!

Whether it is said to live in the sky, the ocean or deep in the underworld, the Bakunawa (also Baconaua or Bacunawa) is one of the most important spirits in the religion of the indigenous people from the Philippines. A creature of truly unimaginable proportions, the Bakunawa is so large that eclipses were claimed to have been caused by the great serpent devouring the moon.

This monster was also associated with natural disasters: it causes typhoons by blowing air through its cavernous maw, and creates earthquakes by shaking its titanic tail. It was for this reason that Visayan people would make noises (by shouting and beating empty cans) during natural disasters, to scare the snake and make it leave.

Among the Ilonggos people, the Bakunawa resembles a shark with a bright red tongue and whiskers around its mouth. It is equipped with ash-gray wings to soar through the heavens, and a series of smaller wings sprout from its sides. Fitting with its aquatic characteristics, the Bakunawa lives deep in the ocean.

Alternatively, the Visayan people describe the creature as a gargantuan dragon-like snake with a characteristic looped tail. This seems to be the most common depiction today. Belief in the Bakunawa is derived from Hinduism, and the name (which means ‘bent serpent’) is likely derived from Sanskrit.

In a Cebuano story, there were once seven moons in the sky. The Bakunawa, wanting to possess them, started devouring them one by one. After eating six moons, the god Bathala stopped him. Interestingly, an alternate Visayan story portrays the Bakunawa as a playful (but ultimately not malicious) animal enticed by the brightly shining moon. Believing it to be a ball, the gigantic snake played with the moon and swallowed it.

Yet another version, in Karay-a belief, has the Bakunawa be a species of monsters rather than a single individual. Some of them have a thin or transparent stomach – if these creatures eat the moon, a partial eclipse follows. Others have a thick-walled stomach, and they can cause a total eclipse.

Whether it is a shark or a snake differs between versions and regions, but the Bakunawa always retains its main defining trait of devouring the moon.

The Bakunawa is still alive today and its movements still influence our world: the supposed movement of the beast (on a 16-point chart) is the basis for the Visayan calendar. For example, at the start of each year, the creature’s head points to the north with its tail pointing to the south. This indigenous calendar was actually censored because of Christianity for a time.

As recent as the late 20th century, a belief persists that the orientation of a newly built house has to align with the creature. For example, the staircase has to face the Bakunawa’s back, or else the evil aura of the monster will enter the house and kill the homeowner’s family. For this purpose, people would consult a ritualist or ritual manual to determine the snake’s current position during construction.

"Are you chilling enough, citizen? Being mindful?" the heavily-armoured soldier asks me, before giving me a not-so-playful shove with his truncheon and continuing on his patrol down the promenade. We have been occupied by the positive self esteem movement now for over 170 days, and I am beginning to feel less hopeful about feeling less hopeful the longer it goes on.

At first, it was great. They shot everyone on the news on the first night, having determined that it was the centre of a lot of negativity in our local area. My dad really didn't like "Roger," who was their local sports anchor and kept trying to overstep his bounds by editorializing about his property taxes being too high. When the deed was done, my pop invited me over for a little party to celebrate his removal from the public eye. And, of course, by "party" I mean The Party, of which at least one representative was in attendance to make sure we didn't utter any doubtful thoughts or badfeels in public.

Keep that chin up, they told us. Be the change you want to see in the world! You can do anything! As a natural cynic, I doubted this. I spent a lot of time indoors, working on my little projects, knowing that my bosses would never risk something as karmically damaging as "firing for bad attendance" while everything was still up in the air. Better to just let me live my truth for a few weeks until the rightful government showed up and took the town back.

Being stuck in the house was probably what helped me to survive those first few months. Even the most social, go-getting, glad-handing salesman would eventually slip up and express some disbelief about a schedule, or a murmur of hesitation around a new project to go to the moon on thoughts and hopes. Someone would report them for bringing the mood down. Pow.

So, yes, I am getting a lot done. Or at least I would be, if I wasn't such a loud mechanic. I can't take the risk that a Party member or convenient snitch will be walking by my garage at the very moment I'm swearing at a recalcitrant ball joint or bent strut. Watch a lot of Netflix instead. Mostly children's shows, the kind that teach us about the power of friendship and believing in your dreams. We should have known they were up to something from the start.

If I had a Bug Fables OC I think it would be fun to have a sapient Mimic Spider who is trying to pass themselves off as an ant and ingratiate into the Ant Kingdom because the forsaken lands suck and most of the other spiders are just animals basically. So they want to become part of an insect community for safety (which is how some real Mimic Spiders actually function btw).

I mostly just imagine funny dialog like "how do you do fellow insects? It sure is a wonderful day for a walk outside with all six of our limbs and see the beautiful scenery with our only two eyes, is it not?" And characters either falling for it in a very Sir Bearington style. Or not falling for it AT ALL and basically reacting like " D= .... =x ? "

Becoming an explorer with a fly partner and Bugging the Fables or whatever.
