I hate when people use words wrong. Not in the everyday sense of using a word wrong, not like a slur, but genuinely using words wrong. "The butterflies alight into the air" no they don't. "Alight" means they land. They do not alight *into the air*. I feel like this should go without saying. Am I insane?? Parents, put the Chronicles of Narnia audiobooks on for your kids. Expose your children to rich language used in the right context and the right way.

And stop alighting into the air. We don't defy the laws of physics and reality on any day that ends with Y.

This is a genuine question.

What do you find disturbing about Hey, Melissa?

I do not want to invalidate anyone’s opinion/discomfort. I simply didn’t find it any more disturbing than other NMT stories but most opinions I’ve seen are that it’s super disturbing and no one should watch it. I saw this before having even watched it and prepared myself when watching it but was underwhelmed in that regard.

Some ideas I’ve come up with why so many people might find it disturbing are:

It’s regular people being scary without obvious influence from the LiB

It’s sorta kinky (although it doesn’t seem to me like Melissa is doing it cause of kink, if I remember correctly Ted is the only one making it about sex)

It’s possibly depicting mental illness

Don’t get me wrong, I do think it’s a scary concept to be abducted by a coworker and “turned” into an animal. But so is being sacrificed by your dad for wealth and power or sacrificed by your wife for eternal youth or your wife being a car and forcing you to kill people.

I’m wondering what are your reasons for singling Hey, Melissa out?

(Again, I’m not here to judge but to understand.)

SOLDIER being sterile makes me sad for a few reasons - mainly because tifa and cloud adopting makes waaaay too much sense now and that HURTS to think about and what that conversation must’ve been like for them (feel like she would really wanna be a mom)

Honestly, my exact same thoughts. You can see how Tifa longs for connection with a deep familiar bond. Denzel and Marlene are great kids, but I'm sure having one living blood relative would have made Tifa so happy.

Cloud probably wouldn't have minded as much-- at first. Or he pretends it doesn't hurt. The more he thinks about it, the more it sinks in, just how much of himself and his choices in life were taken from him... Im sure he would be secretly devastated. He would have been the type of dad that cries when holding his newborn child.

Now, I've just ended up hurting myself too. 😭

just had a silly thought. whenever i have trouble opening bottles my first instinct is to twist them open with my teeth instead, which is something my family fucking HATES. i can easily see the bots Also hating when their human companions do this bc Wtf That Cant Be Good For Your Teeth i can especially see miko doing this just to get a reaction from the bots

It's not Miko. It's actually Raf that does it.

It's a pure defensive mechanism, so his siblings don't go chug his drinks, especially since he buys it on his hard-earned allowance. Not only he open the bottles with his teeth, but he licks the bottle top so his germs are everywhere and no one wants to put their lips on slimy rims or potentially gulp down a round of spit.

Raf doesn't know that Jack and Miko come from Single Child Families. Miko may be a feral gremlin, but she never had siblings to weaponize annoyance, and she doesn't share her drinks. Jack has that Eldest Child Energy. Raf had seen them fight over the popcorn bowl and the cafeteria's gooey chocolate chip cookies (Jack works in the cafeteria and takes the leftovers. The guy has a full snack bar in his locker and backpack), so he didn't take any chances on his Mexican Coke bottle from the ice-cream vendor.

Everyone is staring at Raf in a mix of disguist and fascination.

I feel like TrWater and TrAimsey are like the only two people who ever tried to understand Badboyhalo on TheRealm.

Foolish knows Bad very well, yes, but only because they spent so much time together. He never tried to learn more about him.

TrPangi just accepted Bad for who he is, but I feel like he doesn’t understand what Bad is. He never questions him, because he feels that he doesn’t need to know about his past to be his friend.

TrRos couldn’t understand Bad even if she tried. He’s not human to her, he’s something else. He doesn’t share the same values as her, he shows his love through violence, and he always lies. And because of that, she just can’t view him as a person. He’s a demon, with whom she can make deals one offers, but never friendship.

But trAimsey and trWater are different. They activity trying to understand Bad, talk to him, see things from his perspective. They don’t treat him as a means to an end, because they can relate to him.

Even after everything that Bad has done, trAimsey still persist on learning Bad’s past and secrets, they talk with him, encourage other people to trust him ( like TrPangi). They may not know what bad is, but to them he is a person, not a “free set of armour” card.

And trWater even better at understanding him, cuz she is instantly clocked Bad’s character and ok with him. Why? Because she’s just like him. And she likes that about Bad, she open with him and she wants him to be open with her.

So if Bad ever gonna open up about his past ( sober) , I hope it’s gonna be to those two. Cuz honestly, I feel like no one else could ever understand him better.

a tiny but heartbreaking scene

It's a little dirty, suggesting that it was previously owned and loved by someone else.

Who was that other person? Were they saved by a clone trooper? Occupied by them? Why was it made? Where are they now?

Omega is the one that finds it, and hands it to Echo. She recognizes it before he does.

While looking at the toy, Echo is dressed as a droid in disguise, right before being 'sold' by Hunter for credits. It's as if he's touching his past.

In response to the couple of posts you shared where Oscar makes some baller strawberry muffins, I wanted to share a strawberry muffin recipe! These are a summertime favorite of mine : )

Ingredients:

3 cups all-purpose flour (360 grams)

1 tablespoon baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter softened (226 grams)

1 ½ cups granulated sugar (300 grams)

2 large eggs room temperature

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup milk (240 mL)

1¾ cups diced fresh strawberries

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375 F (190 C) 

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 

In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and sugar together on medium-high until they are light and fluffy, about 5 minutes. 

Reduce the speed to medium. Add the eggs one at a time, beating until well combined before adding the next. Beat in the vanilla.

Reduce the speed to low and alternate adding the dry ingredients and the milk until combined. Usually 3 times back and forth between dry ingredients and milk will get everything mixed in. 

*Note: Stop mixing once the batter has only a few streaks of flour remaining.  The batter will finish mixing when you fold in the strawberries.

Using a spatula, gently fold in the strawberries, then spoon into a muffin tin that is either greased, or lined with muffin cups. Sprinkle the tops with a touch more sugar, then bake for 18-20 mins til the tops are golden, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
