summary:

Raph could have all the problems in the world, seriously, Donnie could spend hours and hours talking about how his dear brother could stop breaking his sais. But his older brother's greatest quality, far more prominent than most of his flaws, was his courage. Braver than his other three brothers, even if sometimes Raph himself didn't realize it. Which was funny to say the least, after all it was Raph who invented the nickname “fearless leader” to piss Leo off.

yea so I personally prefer Leo and Mikey brotherly dynamic over the others. I say this cuz Leo has a major soft spot for the little brother and relaxes around the little brother the most. While Mikey admires Leo so much. Leo smiles the most around Mikey. Mikey has someone he really trusts who knows how to make things go right when they go bad. Leo usually lets Donnie and Raph be leaders at least once. Donnie is too mellow to be leader or thinks too much while Raphael tends to panic and doesn’t use his head.

He actually lets Mikey take over in certain situations full time cuz ,while mikey jokes, he is the most calm and he thinks outside the box whenever others are stuck. He’s the second best in tune with his martial arts skills and spirituality next to Leo. Leo tells mikey no when he gets in over his head, he’s not overly mean about it and is very patient, but he’s very supportive and praises mikey’s work whenever he does a good job. (I hope mutant mayhem has them hang out and do duo missions together with just them a lot more. We always get orange and purple vs red and blue). (Btw I also prefer Raph and Donnie together cuz you know brains and brawn thing. Raph does tend to work on cars and mechanics with Donnie while he leaves chemistry and biology to Donnie. Raph is usually a lot nicer to Donnie compared to the others. He tells Donnie like it is when he overthinks. While Donnie helps raph think more and his mellow attitude helps him relax from everyone else being really intense).

Who are your favorite duos in TMNT

FOR MOST iterations it’s brains and brawns,,, I love Don and Raph’s relationship even tho it’s rarely highlighted 😭

But 2003- all time fav version: it’s Leo and Don. Leo’s gentleness to Don is so special to me. And they seem to have such a good understanding of each others character. They have a balance of patience and helping each other when stuck. Like Leo looks to Don as much as Don looks to Leo and I love that it’s such a subtle character detail. Like I go crazy over how subtle we are shown their affection. Leo understanding when Don needs space and Don always being prepared to back Leo’s plans, always his first hand helper. It’s so perfect.

But Brains and Brawns in IDW, Rise, Bayverse, Batman movie/comics, MUTANT MAYHEM (I love Don and Leo in that one too)

I honestly don’t like them in 2012, it’s not my fav iteration.

oh absolutely am i up for it !!

i mean i kinda missed the mark by a long shot with my prediction that mutant mayhem was gonna be a mikey centric movie (i think that was a lot a lot of wishful thinking lol) buuut honestly? the trailers look promising. (and if we’re being honest, i wasn’t the only one that believed such a thing haha)

and listen. i love those kids all so equally. they all share a similar turtle shaped space in my heart but duuuude i need to see my underdogs come up and come up strong!! i mentioned it before but i get bored with having every tmnt movie/show be a Leo Vs Raph (with a side salad of mikey and don just.. being there for comic relief and/or voice of reason)

and seth rogan already was pretty open about the fact that michelangelo was always his favourite turtle (i wonder why lol) and if there’s anything about us mikey enjoyers it’s that we love putting that little guy in so many Situations.

so my hopes are: we get a little bit more from mike and don. that’s not the say im not looking forward to what they do with leo and raph but judging from the trailer, mikey is looking cheesed off for whatever reason, away from his brothers and with a human. one can only hope that he’s taken being underestimated for a final time!

so yeah. it looks like it’s gonna be good, im excited to see them all do some solo stuff even though i do really hope we see some more 1v1 moments with the brothers, because imo that’s where the movie kinda didn’t.. do as great. i loved the way they acted as a group but again, lacked that whole b-team and the sunset duo and the brain and brawn duo (we have so many names for these guys it’s funny)

BUT YEAH !! either way im looking forward to it. its ninja turtle content imma eat it up regardless :) i guess we shall just have to wait and see what it brings us lol
