So I don't think Noelle was downplaying their relationship necessarily because that's how she feels about it or because she didn't want Susie to know they were close but because she thinks that's how Kris feels about it.

They will beat you and by extension themself literally half to death if you hurt her but they've never even complemented her. they're inscrutable to ostensibly normal people.

But she'll still be happy if they tell the Addison they're friends and wants them to join choir and seems sad they won't.

She just isn't sure if they care about her or not.

12 for Soundwave, 25 for Starscream?

12. If you could write effortlessly and as much as you wanted, what stor(y/ies) would you write for this character?

Glancing at my notes, I apparently have more art ideas than writing ideas that could be shared here.

For Soundwave, in general, I think it'd be interesting to delve into his surveillant nature — as in, his monitoring of others and keeping of secrets/information and the way he does all this to his own benefit (including manipulating and deceiving others). If he's not the POV character but another Decepticon is, it'd be cool to lean into a more unknowable, inscrutable portrayal of him — dig into the way other Decepticons fear/dislike him and their paranoia of his surveillance (maybe almost as if he's like some kind of bogeyman of the Decepticons).

Most stories I think of with Soundwave also involve Megatron, due to me shipping them. Most would likely be reflective of how I described them here.

For EarthSpark MegaSound, I seem to quite like delving into Soundwave's anger/embitterment over Megatron switching sides. The premise for that I definitely shared here — that writing in particular I doubt I'll finish due to wanting to rewrite/revise a lot of it (and it's like 10k words), so I'll more than likely just move onto other things xD. One thing I might be interested in is lovers to enemies (read: word order) although I've never really read much fitting this or written for it — by this I mean love progressively decaying into genuine hatred for all the other stands for, with no warmth left. The linked writing, although I never finished writing it proper, would not end with Soundwave accepting Megatron for who he is now x). (I do have a couple of endings roughly written, but they'd only feel right with the context of the full writing haha.)

I glanced over my Google Docs and apparently I've written like 5ish different things with Soundwave (although all incomplete, with the longest being 13k words and others being much less than that) (next things aren't those).

I've thought of a short story following the Decepticons winning a battle against the Autobots, but it's too bare-bones of an idea to share much of.

I've thought of a vampire-inspired story with Soundwave and Megatron, though neither would actually/literally be vampires (just one in one of their dreams). It'd delve into the uncertainty or perhaps subconscious fear Megatron has for having someone in his confidence as the Decepticon commander (a position that's highly coveted), yet despite this uncertainty Megatron still feels inexplicably drawn to Soundwave's companionship. With Soundwave being an incredibly dangerous Cybertronian in his own right... what's there not to admire and respect as a fellow Decepticon? Soundwave, of course, could never wish him ill, but being able to inspire such awe in Megatron, knowing Megatron only allows himself to have this uncertainty because he values Soundwave so much, Soundwave may secretly be flattered by such an intrinsic recognition of his skills/danger hah. I just love gothic lit... I recently finished reading Dracula (I caved and made a GoodReads account... I think it'll help me read faster).

In general... I really wanna write Soundwave doing some evil badassery or whatever xD. (Maybe I should start looking at some Autobots or Decepticons for him to be evil to...)

25. What kind of fanfiction do you read about this character? If you don’t read fanfics about them, why not?

I hardly ever read fics about Starscream, honestly. I have no interest in trine fanon at all and I often find his top two ships boring (or, they just don't appeal to me) xD. I also am not interested in him getting redeemed or him as a woobie... I like him proudly nasty and sadistic! "Nasty and sadistic" is the whole reason I like Decepticons so much haha.

Of him and the Seekers, I quite like pretty much every canon angle... I think Dreamwave here proposes one of my favorite angles to their dynamic. I just really like the idea of his subordinates actually quite disliking him because of how inconsiderately egocentric he is.

Often in fanfics Skywarp and Thundercracker are written as if they're his brothers and this really doesn't interest me... also Slipstream is never included 💔. "Seeker culture" or "Vosian culture" fanon always reads as quite weird to me.

I think Starscream is often written as too obviously unreasonable to me? And there'll be non-TFP fics I read and think "he reads like TFP Starscream" (that is, where the narrative posits him as inferior to others and has a heavy emphasis on his flouncing). I yearn to see him do evil and manipulate and whatever xD (guess I should write something myself then, eh?).

Completed the reference photo for how an akada's internal organs are laid out. Each organ system and their most noteworthy traits will be indicated and explained under the keep reading barrier.

Gray: The nervous system. Rather than being located in the head, an akada's brain is stored in the center of its body, protected on all sides by its shell. This is accompanied by a long central nervous cord that extends up into the eyestalks. All the other nerves in an akada's body branch off of this cord, including the ones situated behind its brain, which loop back around somewhere in the middle. In addition to its different structure, the brain of an akada also functions slightly differently from a human's. Their lives involve a lot less quick, on-the-move decision making than ours do, instead prioritizing a lot more meticulous long-term planning. This means that akada, generally, think about as slowly as they move. An akada's thought output is more about quality over quantity.

Beige: The shell. You probably know what this does. While tucked in, the shell tilts down and the front organs get folded up to make room for the squished-down head. Although akada can pull their heads into their shells, this doesn't do a lot to protect their arms, tail, or skirt. This ability is more or less vestigial, only being used while startled or sleeping.

Light Blue: The respiratory system. This is comprised of one lung that is also technically ten lungs, each one being surrounded by a mesh of muscle tissue that squeezes and unsqueezes them to pump air. This air enters the body through a series of small slits along the top of their faces. Not a lot to say here. Pretty standard set of breathey parts.

Dark Blue: The circulatory system, though every part of it except the heart has been excluded here for simplicity. As you can probably deduce from the color choice, akada have blue blood, using hemocyanin where we use hemoglobin. Again, not much of note.

Red: The digestive system. Akada chew using two distinct sets of teeth: One three-part beak in the front used for crushing, and one two-part radula in the back used for grinding. Though these parts look and act completely differently, they are adapted from the same parts, that being many rows of identical, keratinous spikes that an ancient ancestor species had in their mouths. Also noteworthy here is the camera shutter-esque organ inside of their throat. These are their vocal chords, which use air pumped out of the stomach to produce speech, assisted on the way out by the radula and lips. The organ is fully retracted while eating to make way for food.

Pink: The reproductive system. Typically, akada have two penises and two vaginas, one of each located in pouches in their cheeks. These are also accompanied by twin uteri, attached in the middle by a series of glands I haven't put much thought into the function of. These uteri store fertilized eggs, which are incubated until they are ready to be vomjaculated into the nearest body of water to hatch. It should be noted that, since an akada's reproductive organs are situated behind their teeth, it is very possible, and in fact quite common, for one to accidentally bite their own penis off. Don't worry, it usually grows back.

Green: A slime production gland. Like Earth's gastropods, akada produce slime to make it easier to slide along the ground. This is technically also their urinary system. Out of context, the idea of a species that talks by burping and moves by peeing sounds a bit childish, but you probably wouldn't have realized that had I not pointed it out.

Teal: A spongy water storage/filtration organ with no direct terran equivalent. Aside from the main organ pictured in the drawing, there also exists a layer of similar spongy tissue spread all throughout an akada's skin, acting both as an emergency moisture reserve and a hydrostatic skeleton.

i use medibang!! ive been using it forrrr maybe like 7ish years now... ive been meaning to one day get clip studio or something but i havent had the chance to buy it and im also a little intimidated at the idea of having to readjust to a new program HAHA

i use a few different brushes!! it depends on what im drawing and what i feel like using at the time (i should probably plan them out more often, actually)

oil paint, g pen, fluffy watercolor, and round brush (wet) are all brushes that come with medibang!!! i know i made Another Marker myself, and im pretttttty sure i made the first marker one too? my favorites are round brush and g pen though!!! i tend to use fluffy watercolor more for colors rather than lineart

(i also keep correction at around 12, i would use it more since my hands arent the steadiest but i find high correction to be kinda confusing so i just keep it low)

the paper effect is smth i learned liiiike maybe two years ago ish? and i have simply KEPT doing it ever since HAHA i do wanna mess around with more textures cus i dont want to be too reliant on just one texture for my art but it IS very fun and i like it...

medibang has a feature that makes it REALLY easy to do!!

custom noise is my BEST friend. the sand, watercolor paper (specifically 2), and marker paper (specifically 2) are the ones i use most often!!!

i also will copy n paste color layers and lineart layer, add gaussian blur and do like 200 layer effects (i most often do this to lineart, then set it to hard light and somewhere between 30-60% opacity to mimic bleeding from ink!!). i DO often experiment w messing w colors wo layer effects cus its fun but sometimes its just more fun to use layer effects instead!!

medibang also has materials!!

i dont use them as often but i like this one :D ive used it on a handful of things

and just for fun!!! things look suuuper different without this stuff. like the thing i just posted used a LOT of this (to be honest its cus i really really didnt wanna do shading for it LOL but it still felt too flat and i feel like these effects are a nice middle ground- but i will still often use this stuff when i AM shading things)

sometimes i will also use similar custom noise textures but for different parts of the image!!! like in this one i had a waatercolor texture for the bg but a seperate one for the foreground

i DIIID a while back post a pic of kinger (its an older post on this acc- not old by most standards but it was during the first little while after i made this blog while i was still finding my footing w the characters) that used a bunch of different textures which i got from freestocktextures.com!! but i havent used them since. i keep thinking i should again
