Y/n had always known Peter Parker was weird. Not in a bad way though more like that guy definitely talks to pigeons when no one’s looking kind of weird. They’d been best friends since sophomore year, partners in crime for late night movie marathons, pop quiz cramming, and very competitive Mario Kart tournaments (Y/n always played as Peach, Peter always sulked when he lost).

What Y/n didn’t know was that Peter Parker was also Spiderman. That is, until the Incident. It started like any other Friday evening in Queens. Y/n was on their way to Peter’s apartment, balancing a pizza box in one hand and a bag of snacks in the other. She had just texted “bringing snacks and a stomach ready for grease” when a flash of red and blue blurred past the alley next to the bodega. “Oh cool, Spiderman.” Y/n said sarcastically as she picks up the pizza box, not realizing her entire life was about to be rewritten in the next five minutes. Curiosity got the better of her. She crept toward the alley, figuring maybe she’d catch a glimpse of Spidey web slinging his way up the wall or dramatically flipping into the skyline.

What she saw instead was…less heroic. Spiderman, his pants halfway down, mask in his hand, trying (and failing) to wrangle a rogue piece of mozzarella stick from inside his suit, he stood under the flickering alley light. And the face? “Peter?!” Peter dropped the mask and shrieked. “Y/n?!” He yelped, voice cracking like a teenager in a cartoon. “W-what how WHY ARE YOU IN MY ALLEY?!” “Why are YOU naked in an alley with a cheese stick down your shirt?!” “I WAS HUNGRY OKAY?!” They both froze, eyes wide, Peter still tangled in spandex and cheese. Y/n blinked. “You’re Spiderman.” Peter blinked. “You’re holding my mozzarella stick hostage.”

She looked down. Yep. She had, somewhere during the chaos, picked it up. Slowly, with a dramatic flourish, she took a bite. “Mmh, Tastes like betrayal.” Peter groaned and yanked his shirt the rest of the way down. “Please don’t tell anyone. Not many people even know-” Y/n walked toward him, pizza box swinging at her side. “So let me get this straight. You’ve been fighting crime, swinging across the city, doing flips off buildings and yet still couldn’t beat me in Mario Kart?” “I was distracted! You always do that evil laugh when you throw bananas!”

They both broke into laughter, and Peter, cheeks bright red, ran a hand through his hair. “I didn’t want you to know. I thought it would freak you out.” Y/n nudged him with the pizza box. “You literally save the city in your pajamas. That’s pretty hot.” Peter choked on air. “Wait. Did you just say-” “Hot, Peter. You. Are. Hot.” “You mean Spiderman?” “No. I mean Peter Parker, the idiot who gets cheese in his superhero suit.” He stared at her, mouth open slightly like his brain was buffering. Then, finally he grinned. “So…you think I’m hot.”

“Shut up before I take my pizza and leave.” “Too late.” He said, stepping in close, a goofy smile on his face. “You found out my secret. Guess I’ll have to keep you around now.” Y/n raised a brow. “That a threat, Parker?” “It’s a promise.” He whispered, and before she could come up with a witty retort, he kissed her. And this time, their Mario Kart marathon wasn't the best part of her night.
