Hi op!! I reside happily in defiant whumpee land, so here's a list of my personal faves!!! I hope creepy whumpers aren't a dealbreaker for you :D

First off some shameless self promo:

Whumptober 2024: I completed whumptober last year with a mix of generic stories (using only pronouns, no placeholder names) and character based ones!

Hasan and Declan: a longform captivity story with a good old fashioned sadist who wants someone to hurt without considering boundaries, and a man who's desperate to come out the other side of this with some kind of sanity intact. Featuring a creepy whumper, torture, and power dynamics.

And some all time faves that all have defiant whumpees:

Written in Blood by @as-a-matter-of-whump: Aspiring writer Jonah tries to seduce a well known publisher for a job. He's technically successful in both. Featuring a forced relationship, creepy whumper, domestic whump, and some full blown torture.

Immortality Blows by @brutal-nemesis: An immortal man in a fantasy world cannot stop getting put in situations. Featuring the most defiant, sarcastic man you've ever met, gratuitous gore, and plenty of different scenarios.

Neutralizer by @brutal-nemesis: Being a prisoner of war is suddenly a whole lot more complicated when Xavier is chosen as a subject of experimentation that he isn't entirely privy to yet. Featuring another recklessly defiant whumpee, a whumper who just wants to do her job, and needles galore.

SV-240 by @galaxywhump: Taken out of military service, kidnapped by slavers, brought to a tiny foreign planet, forced to be the groom of his purchaser and only other resident of the planet... and Wren is still spitting curses. Featuring: forced relationship, creepy whumper, and long term captivity.

An Immortal Among Stars by @galaxywhump: One I haven't personally read because lady whump doesn't appeal to me, but it's in your preferences so I thought I'd include it! More space whump and an immortal whumpee!

Bookish by @whumblr: More lady whump that I haven't read for you! Science experiments, torture, and a library as far as I know!

Crossed Out by @whumblr: Lucas has been looking into a suspicious prison complex run by one Nero Mathison, but soon comes face to face with the very illegalities he's sought to find proof of. Featuring prison whump, defiance like you've never seen, and a stoic whumper who's not willing to give in.

And as a bonus, if you're a big fan of physical books, @brutal-nemesis is published in Whumpology by @thewhumpyprintingpress, and @whumblr is self-publishing her completed story Home is Where the Hurt is on July 10th!

Idk if I'm just looking in the wrong places but I feel like the most popular type of whump I see is like, where the whumpee is like crying and begging and falling apart with fear, and as someone who prefers stoic and/or defiant whumpees, I am fucking starving out here my dudes
