Kaleesh Week Day 7 - Ascension

Thought I might do something special for the last day of kaleesh week (can't believe it's over so soon, I've really loved seeing what everyone's come up with!), so I dug out a story from my star wars fic archives-- a POV outsider fic, where two kids on Kalee grapple with all the scattered legends they hear about more canon characters, such as Sheelal, Kummar and Vekka jai Kandakis (Grievous' grandmother in my AU). The story is tangentially concerned with ascension, but legacy, legends and death play a very large role in the events that occur. Also, it's a three-parter, so I'll be posting chapters today, tomorrow and the day after that!

Little Lamplight, who is occasionally not very little, guides Daisy and Halji through Fyr-Nesk, with seeming ease. It takes a while, but nothing of note happens.

It takes a few minutes, before Daisy would catch notice of the extra red lights in the trees, slowly building up until they are very clearly many other Lamplights, lighting the night sky. The plantlife seems much more faded back, and significantly smaller.

There are branches bent and tied together, forming many baskets throughout the settlement. Some of the Lamplights are snooping in and pulling out small bits of meat or fruits.

Probably of most importance, there are some number of Krythin. There's a group of, perhaps surprisingly, young looking Krythin, gathered around an older one, who is wearing what looks like a fanged deer's skull, and maybe telling a story? It is hard to tell with the distance and other noise.

Halji looks around, and smiles to herself. The Lamplight that had led the two here flies off, perhaps grabbing somebody of authority; or at least a friend of Halji's.

Handwerksbäckerei Büsch unterstützt Aktion Mutwald mit Spende

        Initiative möchte kranken Kindern Kraft schenken Kamp-Lintfort/Hilden. Mit einer Spende von 2.000 Euro unterstützt die Handwerksbäckerei Büsch die Aktion MutwaldagenHagen - ein Projekt der Stiftung It’s for Kids, das von der Herman van Veen-Stiftung mitgetragen wird. Das Geld stammt aus dem Erlös des Büsch-Charity-Adventskalenders. Mutwald ist ein Projekt, das lebensbedrohlich erkrankten Kindern in der schwersten Zeit eine Perspektive und Lebensmut schenken möchte. Bei einem eigenen Mutwald-Festival sollen Kinder nach überstandener Krankheit einen unvergesslichen Tag mit zahlreichen Aktionen – von Hüpfburg über Ponyreiten bis hin zu einer Zaubershow – erleben und dabei auch ihren eigenen Mutbaum pflanzen. Je mehr Kinder dabei sind, desto  größer wird der Mutwald. Für Kinder, deren Geschwister, Eltern und Großeltern ist die Teilnahme kostenlos, die Aktion wird komplett durch Spenden finanziert. Die Festivals finden ein- bis zweimal im Jahr an unterschiedlichen Orten in Deutschland statt. Der nächste Termin ist am 27. April in Düsseldorf-Hubbelrath/Erkrath. Mut zum Leben „Wir freuen uns sehr, dieses tolle Projekt mithilfe der Bäckerei Büsch unterstützen zu können“, sagt Hans-Werner Neske, Vorstandsvorsitzender der Herman van Veen-Stiftung Deutschland. „Wir wollen den Kindern Mut zum Leben geben.“ Das Grundstück für das nächste Festival ist bereits gepachtet. Die Kinder können ihre gepflanzten Bäume dort auch in den nächsten Jahren jederzeit besuchen. Auch Christian Ehrhoff, international bekannter Eishockey-Star und Botschafter der Stiftung, ist von der Initiative Mutwald angetan. Schon seit Jahren engagiert er sich für das Wohlergehen kranker Kinder. Die Herman van Veen-Stiftung setzt sich seit über 20 Jahren für behinderte und benachteiligte Kinder ein. Die Handwerksbäckerei Büsch hat bereits mehrfach die Arbeit dieser Stiftung unterstützt. Enorme Resonanz Die Büsch-Charity-Adventkalender-Aktion des vergangenen Winters hatte eine enorme Resonanz. 31.062 Exemplare des Kalenders, der zum Preis von einem Euro verkauft wurde, gingen in den Fachgeschäften in ganz Nordrhein-Westfalen über den Ladentisch. Damit kamen 31.062 Euro für einen guten Zweck zusammen. Die Kunden nutzten aktiv die Möglichkeit, vorzuschlagen, welche Personen oder soziale Einrichtungen eine Spende aus dem Adventskalender-Verkauf erhalten sollten.
