[industry project] #1 - client debriefing

Challenge: How can I use the information my team and I gathered from our first client meeting to create a debriefing document about our industry project assignment which is to design a wild boar management module for the single-player ecosystem simulation game Ecosim?

A debriefing document is important because it contains our initial grasp of the project we have to develop which we can use to validate whether we understood what the clients want.

Methodology

After receiving and reading the briefing document with our industry project assignment, my team and I had a briefing session with the clients where I participated in asking questions about the project. I took part in the creation of a client debriefing document by defining some high level insights from first analysis. Furthermore, we had a meeting with our project manager who gave us feedback on our debriefing document and I took part in applying this feedback to the document.

Design a wild boar management module for the single-player simulation game Ecosim to enable wildlife managers, farmers and students in wildlife management to simulate different wildlife scenarios and observe the behaviour of wild boar influenced by various factors such as risk landscape and food landscape.

Iteration 2

Design a wild boar management module for the single-player simulation game Ecosim to enable wildlife managers at Grenspark Kempen~Broek in the province of Limburg to simulate different wildlife scenarios influenced by factors such as risk landscape (hunting, recreation) and food landscape (agricultural crops, certain natural habitat types) and observe the behaviour of wild boar in order to maximise the benefits of the species such as their role in the ecosystem (enrich soil) and minimise conflicts they may cause such as causing damage to agricultural lands and creating wildlife vehicle collisions.
