Springtrap and Nicholas have not been on good terms ever since Deliah introduced him to Nicholas, her father. She always wanted them to get along but it always seemed unlikely that would ever happen but she always tried to make them get along. Nicholas tried to be there, to protect her, to make sure she was safe from Springtrap and his outbursts.

One day he heard Deliah crying in her room and wanting to comfort her and already being awake, he knocked on her door softly.

Small sniffles could be heard through the door and Nicholas grew afraid and suspicious of Springtrap. Was this his doing? Was he hurting his daughter behind closed doors?

"No dad it's ok!..i just had a nightmare.."

Deliah could be visibly heard trying to cover up her cries or at the very least try to stop them. Nicholas sighed softly and opened the door slowly peaking his head out as he saw his daughter trying to hide her tears. He walked over calmly sitting next to his daughter.

"Talk to me honey, what's bothering you?"

She only looked away, upset at the question not wanting to answer. Nicholas understood this and hugged her not wanting to make the situation worse and only wanted to see his daughter happy.

"Ok ok..if you ever want to talk, just come to my room, ok?"

She nodded her tears subsiding as she turned to her dad and smiled. Nicholas smiled back wishing to see his daughter happy all of the time. It pained him when he saw her sad. He kissed her on the head tucking her into sleep as he walked away checking to make sure she was ok and closed the door sighing with relief that at least she was ok and Springtrap did nothing to her.

His relief quickly turned into suspicious as he saw Springtrap sleeping on the couch, his legs hanging off from the end of the couch and his head leaned back. The TV was on seeming indicating he was previously watching something when he was awake. He only looked at him and groaned in annoyance.

He glanced at him once more and then quickly went back to his own bedroom walking to his bed he got under his covers only to stare at the ceiling. His thoughts flooded with endless possibilities of what Springtrap might do to him and his daughter and he just didn't want that to happen.

He tried to fall asleep but nothing, his eyes were already visibly tired from the lack of sleep... Oh well, the next day was a Saturday.

The next day rolled around and Nicholas didn't get enough sleep, he didn't even get the chance to sleep at night. He quietly and slowly opened the door popping his head out to see if she was ok. She in fact was, and was sound asleep. Nicholas smiled and closed the door carful as to not wake her. He then finally made his way into the kitchen ready to pour himself a cup of coffee until he saw Springtrap making cookies.

"Oh Deliah did you want some-"

As he turned around he saw Nicholas instead of Deliah and his growing excitement turned bitter.

Teasingly Springtrap said,

"Oh? Didn't get to sleep I presume?"

Before Springtrap or Nicholas could say anything the phone began to ring and Deliah went to grab the phone seemingly already expecting the call.

She seemed to be talking about a sleepover with Harry excited about the plan and looked at Nicholas as he drank his coffee.

"Hey Dad, do you think I could have a sleep over with Harry?"

Nicholas put the coffee down and looked at Deliah with a smile.

"Of course, he's your friend, just make sure to call me if anything happens."

Springtrap was quiet, suspiciously not saying anything and walking to the living room where he was at night to lay on the couch.

"Thank you Dad!"

She smiled saying goodbye to Harry on the phone as she went to her room to go and change and pack some essentials that she would need for the night.

A few minutes pass by and Deliah came back into the kitchen to say goodbye to her Dad already dressed up and packed to go next door to Harry's house.

Nicholas waved Deliah goodbye smiling as she left closing the door behind her hurriedly going to Harry's house happily.

"Can't you do something productive."

Springtraps annoyance at Nick being in front of the TV turned into amusement getting up from the couch his figure noticeably taller that Nicholas making Nicholas a bit worried as to what he might do.

RWRB 1 (because we can say that now, ahh! 🤭) shot June-August 2022. They filmed reshoots in January 2023.

Reshoots were done in-part because Miguel was recast, and also because Matthew wanted additional footage for some scenes, which isn’t uncommon.

It was this list of scenes in which Nick wears a wig - because he’s filming another project - that inspired this post, and then I was also re-reading some old interviews, and I wanted to put them all in one place!

Nick wears a wig during the reshoots because he was filming Mary & George (He shot Bottoms > RWRB > TIOY > M&G with very few breaks, if any. TIOY wrapped in December 2022, M&G began shooting in January 2023, and the reshoots for RWRB were also in January 2023.)

If there’s a silly!weird thing to know about me when it comes to movies and shows I love, it’s that I will spot an inconsistency like a wig/sudden hair change (hello twilight saga wig fiasco, it’s been over 15 years and I still know all the lore, and think about those fuck ass wigs every time I rewatch those addictive movies 🤪).

Nick wears a wig for RWRB reshoots during these scenes:

The television broadcast on the balcony.

Henry and Alex see each other for the first time during the receiving line.

Matthew reveals that their first meeting on-screen was originally going to be in front of the cake, before he realized the audience would need more context.

"The initial meeting on screen was when they met up in front of the cake but I realized watching the film that I needed to introduce and create a sense of animosity between them earlier and so that's how the receiving line scene came about," shares Matthew. These additional scenes were then completed in January 2023.

The receiving line scene is also a wonderful example of the wildness Taylor brings to the screen as Alex, something that Matthew says he never needed to coach Taylor on.

Matthew Lopez: It was a hard-won scene. We actually filmed it in two sections, six months apart. We got all of the scene work and the beats down, and we got what we thought was sufficient party atmosphere beats. And we started to cut the film together, and I realized we just didn’t have enough. And so, we went back in January for a few days of reshoots on a couple of other things, and I got them to rebuild part of the set for me. And we brought in just a bunch of people, and we just had a big party and shot it.

That was one of the great lessons for me as a first-time filmmaker, thinking I had enough and realizing that I didn’t, and then being given the opportunity to go back and get more of what I needed. But one of the blessings of that was because I had cut the scene already, then I got to plan the new shots very carefully. We got to invent moments and grab them.

When Nick went back to do RWRB reshoots, he had just wrapped TIOY. During reshoots, he shot this piano scene with Taylor, where he says the line as Henry: “they loved the idea of me” which is like inception… or something. But just adds to the crazy long invisible string of Nick’s career! 💫 he then of course, goes back to shooting M&G, and we all know about the connection there…

• Deleted scenes: in BTS photos, Nick is seen in a wig while wearing an apron for what would have been the Thanksgiving scene.
