Quinn is so beautiful. I know he has the miserable look but he's just so pretty??? His adorable hair wings are just giving everything. I hope it won't get cut soon so really, really, really ban him from barbers or something.

Someone protect this man at all cost. I'm still at awe with his career milestone. 313 assists in 388 games. Wow. Even when he was at 310 assists tied with Edler, it was impressive because he did 538 fewer games.

Also yay for being the second star of the week. He deserves everything especially after thay 31:04 TOI in dec 1 game against red wings (just give him a gun /lh).

I also love this picture from canucks twitter. Just look at that lil smile. I fear I'm so endeared with this lil canuck.

I dunno how much I'll talk but I'm putting in the lil read more antway

HIIIIIII SO

For those not in the know, Clara is my sweet evil baby girl also the main antagonist for my oc world and story, rn going under the name 'Pakshapuram' (definitely going to change it tho, also 'paksha' coming from Sanskrit for wing and puram being a common suffix for towns in south india, like Kanchipuram)

She was born and raised in Pakshapuram, a city town thing that is one of a few cities around the area (this area is pretty isolated the only people that come through were born and raised or shifty guys working through black market sort of trades).

She was born the only child to Amara, who with no partner and no other kids and a big expectations on her, put everything into raising Clara. She's a pretty typical Indian mum though, rarely giving affection or praise, but it works, and Clara knows she's well loved.

She is also a bharatanatyam dancer!! Which doesn't help with the pressure but whatever, Clara's life is good, she has her mum, lots of friends, people all around her that want to help, and most importantly she has Xavier.

Xavier, I could talk about him forever, but what you need to know is that he and Clara are CLOSE. Always together, never separated, all the aunties look on and call them "heart and soul" (ഹൃദയവും ആത്മാവും) they don't leave each other's side right

But there's no good character without a touch 🤏 of trauma so, yayyyy

While dancers learn bharatanatyam, after they learn everything and stuff they get this big ceremony debut into their official career, it's called an Arangetram, and it's a bigggg deal okay?

Also like a year before this, Amara find out she's expecting!!!! Gives birth to a baby boy!!!! Very healthy!!!! Nothing will happen to him promise!!!!!!

Anyway on the day of Clara's Arangetram, she goes to her aunty's house to get dressed quickly in her saree (if you've ever tried to put on a saree you KNOW this isn't quick in the slightest)

She comes back and 😱😱😱 her mum is a statue wthhh?????

And her baby brother is gone?????? (It has nothing to do with amara's old wlw situationship that ended terribly and sourly and left a lot of unanswered questions and lingering feelings whattt)

She's confused af obviously and angry and WHO TF TURNED MY MUM INTO A STATUE y'know very justified, and she overhears some people talking about how Dragons???? might be responsible????

You need to know that dragons are heavily venerated in Pakshapuram, the religion of the city revolves around how important dragons are too the world right and how they shouldn't be touched or anything yeah

An old guy came up and said that he had known about a prophecy that something like this could happen and blah blah blah Clara's in charge now

But like she's sixteen so that's alottttt of pressure to put on a literal child you would think? NOPE they said make her queen now

So now Clara's in charge and also A GRIEVING TEENAGER and she is stressed

And woahhhjj perfect timing famine through the land!!!!!!!

Every one is really hungry and Xavier, who is now general, asked her what she wanted to do about it and maybe just maybe let's use the food we had stored just in case something like this happened????

Clara goes "no girl im using that"

And Xavier's like "what why we don't need to use those???"

And Clara like "yeah we do thats what I'm referring the troops I sent to go find a dragon for me to kill to get revenge for killing my mum"

And Xavier's like "you crazy bitch people are starving can you be insane later"

Clara throws a temper tantrum and exiles him woooooop #girlboss

Years pass and Xavier's making a under ground resistance against Clara because she has moved on from killing people with her ignorance to just killing them if they disagree with her which isn't cool

Clara goes very insane with the grief and stress and everything she's soooo unhappy and very evil about it she's talking to the statue of her mum and she's not doing well

And here's about where the main story starts, and I haven't even talked about the protagonists

little details I liked from the new clip:

1. Eva and Sara unintentionally matching with star earrings - they WERE best friends, it makes complete sense. Evas being bigger and neon (i want them so badly btw) also makes sense in her arc - trying to prove herself to her new friend group and jakov simultaneously. She’s putting more pressure on herself, while Sara, who has the upper hand in this scene chooses to accesorise with something still unique but more subtle

2. Nora’s outfit ATE but WHY didn’t she follow eva after she ran off?? clearly upset? I know she couldn’t in order to set up the plot but she followed her literally moments before. Tbf thinking about it now maybe she wanted to give her space but given the context and a clearly overwhelming environment like it seemed a bit a strange.

3. Nix BEFORE he kissed eva. Trying to comfort her by being silly, asking if she wanted water or a friend and if he could stay - atleast he didn’t immediately jump at the chance to take advantage of the situation like some of his past namesakes. Made me like him a bit more before I met ines, of course.

4. I’ve been a bit confused about the characters supposedly being in their second year of high school, but being born in 2008 (as that would make them 16-17 instead of 15-16). I’d put it down to either the Croatian school system being different or the characters simply being aged up but Ines is in 3rd grade and not a senior, so it appears to follow the normal system?? If anyone is Croatian and could clear this up would very much appreciate it 😭😭

CHAPTER 15 - RISING IN THE RANKS

March 12th, 1943 - 0300 Camp Mackall, North Carolina, United States War Correspondent Esther Armstrong

OCS had proven to be both a welcome challenge and a goal once I had stepped foot into training. Not only did it improve upon my character, my capability to lead, and my communication skills, but it taught me a lot about the onset of war and what we were doing. Why we were fighting and continuing to bear grievance to the enemy. After my time in OCS and obtaining the rank of 2nd Lieutenant, I was immediately reconnected with Easy Company in Camp Mackall. With the rank of Lieutenant and a new wealth of knowledge, it seemed cliche to say, but I made Camp Mackall my oyster. I almost suspected by the time I arrived that we'd be shipped out sooner than we all thought to war. Or that maybe there was a set plan in place in case we needed to jump earlier. Everyone carried themselves with a different grace and stoicism than they had previously it felt. And that's when people seemed to notice some cracks here and there. Specifically in Captain Sobel's leadership. It became the pinnacle of Camp Mackall. - Esther Armstrong, on OCS, in her book, Stroke of Luck

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc? ohhhhhg yes for sure, i could write an essay on this but i'll do my most common one (which also happens to be my favorite): forehead touch. there are not many fics of mine that don’t have at LEAST one forehead touch (that i can remember anw)

41. Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person? I’M A REREADER TIL THE DAY I DIE FR!! just did my (now) annual reread of make it up as we go along (aka fic that changed my life), and i think in the last two weeks alone i’ve reread take it, if you can 3 times bc it was my first foray into rdr2 fic a few months back and it also happens to fuck incredibly hard. i even ventured back to ffnet in recent months to reread a personal childhood classic, seven years of winter

57. Do you prefer editing as you write, or waiting until it’s finished? i do spot checking and some tidying up as i write, general housekeeping basically, and i save the major editing for when i’m finished. if i edit too much during the writing process then i will never finish the fic bc i get obsessive about random shit that needs to be changed when i’m in writing mode if i look at it too long. and then i look at it so long that i get annoyed and stop writing shdjdjdjd

Diary: witch!

So she was avoiding me yesterday (today, it's just midnight aakdhajdhajd). Which. Whatever, were doing different things, different areas of work needed done. I have been spiralling a little bit since Monday but I had a nice interaction with a professor!

Said professor is a Witch who practices with a COVEN and all that (so cool) jazz, and I've been interested for a couple years and it seemed like the perfect time to ask about getting into the practice. He suggested a book! To take my mind off the girl, I started a pdf of this book on Wicca instead: "Wicca: Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham! And so far so good with it!

I'm enjoying it, and it helped me focus my nervous energies onto something else other than her, which I almost broke down about my overthinking today too. I was really shaky and nervous all day, even after my cool professor and my's time together. I think I was overstimulated in a busy environment trying to focus on anything but the halfway of people, but nothing helped. But it got better as I refocused my attention to more important matters like work.

The day really turned for me when we had a rehearsal for a project we're involved in together, and everything went so smoothly! I was happy bc she was joking around with us, everyone was laughing and having a good time, and we got things done! I felt a lot better bc her attitude was so much better going into it!

Anyway, that gave me a little hope. But idk, let's see moving forward.

Nyoka Information & Class

(Gonna assume that’s a typo. Meme here.)

Class: Who is your twst OC's classmate(s)? How would you describe their relationship? Did they have different classmates in previous year and did they get along?

Nyoka is a third-year student in Class D. The only other cast member who is in that class is the Malleus Draconia. Their relationship is… classmates. Will interact a bit inside the classroom due to circumstance, but not so much outside of it.

Small talk may be exchanged if Malleus or Nyoka has something to say. Nyoka would never disrespect royalty, so he treats Malleus accordingly. Malleus treats Nyoka with courtesy as well, as he’s expected to.

They will be paired up often because the rest of the class fears Malleus on principle due to his reputation and overall presence, and Nyoka can carry an unapproachable aura too despite his docile behavior. He’s not scared of Malleus per se, just reasonably cautious. He certainly wouldn’t willingly venture to Diasomnia, though. I can imagine Malleus in his weird-fae-way teasing an invite every now and then if Nyoka ever asks a question (like, say about the loud reptile who keeps escorting Malleus to class every day). It’s probably a real offer laced in mild ironic humor, but it’s hard to tell. Besides, a Savanaclaw student waltzing into Diasomnia? Absolutely not.

I’d probably describe the relationship as amicable. Not unpleasant, but neither really go out of their way to hang out. They’re both kinda stiff and dignified, but Malleus has a cheekiness that Nyoka lacks, I think. Malleus can be kind of in his own world, and Nyoka is just going through the motions. Reptile solidarity 🤝 Sort of. Not friends though. It’s not a thought that crosses their systems.

It’s hard to say if Nyoka ever shared a class with anyone else in previous years because I don’t really know how NRC is structured in that regard. It’s possible, but I can’t be sure with certainty. I won’t rule it out, so I’ll put a pin in it. Might’ve crossed paths with Rook though in previous years, for sure.

Inspiration: Is your twst OC inspired by any villains? Concepts? Anything Disney-related?

YES! Primarily inspired by Ushari the Egyptian Cobra, secondary villain in season 2 of “The Lion Guard.” Visually, though, I focused more on the real species and some legends attributed to it.

So artistic liberties were clearly taken. Blud looks more like an Indian cobra. BUT! I will let it slide because red/purple hues are more visually eye catching for a cartoon snake than black (and in some lightning, looks gold), so I can kinda see the thought process there. I didn’t wanna nix that red/purple entirely so I just threw Ushari’s og color scheme and pattern into Nyoka’s eyes and eye makeup. That was my compromise. My little subliminal bell to ring.

I think the closest Disney-ish related concept that I also incorporated in subtext is something I can’t articulate too well.

Maybe it’ll be brought up in some future material.

2.0 Satellite Investors, aka the Kuiper Family! (1/2)

ngl this was very fun to make, the satellites didn't stand out to me at first when i got into ttcc but i think they're my favorite family now...except for the mafia part /silly

Gonna be yapping (a lot) about all their designs and headcanons i gave em below, starting from the oldest of the family to the youngest:

(i tend to refer to a lot of the satellites by they/them)

Cosmo Kuiper:

Head of the Family, and as expected the most experienced when it comes to perfectly legal activities and covering up their tracks.

Character design is modeled after a comet! The comet tail is unbearably cold to the touch, so much so it freezes and destroys anything that comes near it. He's burned through a couple hats...

Cosmo and all of the satellites contain some sort of freezing insulation that keeps them operating smoothly when they're not in a cold environment.

Not very visible in the image but Cosmo wears multiple rings that have the planets on them. Earth, Mars, Venus, etc.

Side note: I genuinely love that Cosmo has a good relationship with the Satellites. Originally I thought it was gonna be one of those "villain boss bullies his lackies" but this is so much more wholesome

Charon:

Cosmo's right hand man, the two have known each other the longest out of all the satellites. Substitutes for Cosmo when he's unavailable.

Has a rather silent and threatening personality. Never raises his voice unless he has too. The oldest and most responsible of the satellites, usually being the one that keeps them all in line.

Color palette takes from a black agate geode!

Character design was semi-modeled after an astronaut! I also learned (unfortunately way after I designed him) that he actually has the attack "Pecking Order" which is mostly only used by bird-coded characters, which is pretty cool! I'll think about giving him more bird qualities in the future.

Almost always covered in cold mist and icicles, mostly because he never leaves the freezer.

Charon has a shady past he never talks about, no matter how much the others pester him about it. The only clue being some old metal gauntlets he passed down to Kerberos.

The most physically intimidating of the Family, toons really avoid confronting him...

Charon now has a cheat called "Freezer Burn."

Hydra:

This guy might be my fav. Usually the one behind the reception desk and phone during operating hours. This may explain why so many toons complain of lazy service...

Color palette takes from a sapphire geode with gold veins!

Hydra's personality is rather chill and even-tempered. There aren't a lot of things that grind his gears but whatever happens, do not give him a reason to brawl. Hydra lives for getting his hands dirty when the opportunity presents itself, and it will get ugly.

Character design took inspiration from the mythological beast, the Hydra. Therefore, he has many serpent qualities! Hydra normally has 3 eyes, each eye belonging to a different serpent head. The longer the Plutocrat battle progresses the more heads/eyes he gains. When the number of heads hit 9, Hydra is defeated.

A lot of mechanical noise can be heard from under his coat...

He also has serpent fangs and a tongue (yes he can smell through this), as well as having a retractable serpent tail. The tail originally had a normal rattle at it's end but it froze over. Still works though!

Hydra's character of inspiration was Rattlesnake Jake from Rango, who undeniably might have the sickest character design I've ever seen (I don't have a lot of hills to die on but that's one of them).

Hydra now has a cheat called "Poisonous breath."

Nix:

Essentially the middle child. Does in fact own a hat and coat like the others, but Nix doesn't wear it often.

He and Styx are usually the ones seen managing Mozzarella Styx. Nix does all the numbers, checks all the inventory, and often helps Styx in waitressing whenever it's busy. (also takes turns being the cook with Hydra).

Color Palette takes from an amethyst geode!

Outside of the mafia business, Nix has in interest in stargazing and astrology. They own a pretty powerful telescope and occasionally goes to Dreamland to study the constellations. Kerberos usually picks on them for being a nerd (they have the closest age range).

( Character inspiration for Nix may or may not be Donatello specifically from ROTTMNT ) ( i have yet to actually watch the series but from the clips i saw it looks pretty good and the art style is a banger )

Kerberos:

On the younger side of the Family. Very rarely seen behind the reception desk, which if he is- it's best to just turn around and walk back out.

Extremely snappy and bad-tempered, it doesn’t take much to get on their nerves. And unlike Hydra, he doesn’t need an excuse to pummel you into the ground. He tries very hard to come off as intimidating and scary. Carries anti-toon spray, but honestly prefers beating people up.

Color palette takes from an emerald green dioptase!

Kerberos has 3 heads based off the mythological beast, Cerebus. Each head has different types of sharp teeth, and can rotate 180 degrees in both directions.

Actually the second satellite to be inspired by Rattlesnake Jake! This time it's only his voice though.

Inherited Charon's old metal gauntlets—they're huge, worn, and very heavy—but Kerberos revels in the power they give him. He looks for any excuse to bully toons with them. When he’s not wearing the gauntlets, he sports steel-knuckled gloves instead. He also wraps his forearms to make himself look more buff.

Kerberos's original job for Mozzarella Styx was being the janitor but he absolutely refuses to do this, instead he serves as security along with the Plutogram.

There is something Kerberos is hiding...and he'd rather die than tell anyone about it.

Styx:

The youngest of the satellites and the face of Mozzarella Styx Pizzeria (they love to brag about their name being on the front of the restaurant).

Styx has a very friendly and bubbly personality compared to the rest of the Family. Despite being the most approachable, they should not be underestimated. Because they work customer service.

Color palette takes from an blue celestite geode!

Being the main waiter and receptionist of the restaurant, they've become an expert in the field. And being Mozzarella Styx's first line of defense, they do a pretty good job of disposing intrusive toons ( Styx also carries anti-toon spray with them just in case ).

Despite how difficult it can get now, Styx really does love their job.

Styx is the one that spends the most time outside the freezer, and grew rather accustomed to higher temperatures. They're also the most critical when it comes to the quality of the food the restaurant produces.

Owns a hat and coat like the rest as well.

Plutogram:

The newest addition to the family, and a virtual replica of Cosmo. Technically Plutogram is genderless (y'know being a hologram) but I like to think they go by any pronouns

Despite only being a hologram with no mind of its own, the satellites like to consider Plutogram to be their own person. They like referring to them as "Big Blue."

While Plutogram's main purpose is to protect Mozzarella Styx during the night, they can take over any job necessary (Styx taught them how to cook).

This character's hat is modeled after a black hole and their cape takes after a galaxy (somewhat inspired by SU White Diamond's cape).

I'm also really guilty of giving this character several nicknames like: the 6th satellite, 6th secretary, Ursa Major, Orion, etc. One of my favorites has to be Donna though.

Plutogram has multiple modes, 2 of which I named Free-roam and Mimic for convivence.

Free-roam means the hologram has control over its own actions, and executes what ever actions it thinks will be beneficial to it's owner, in this case Cosmo. It can also be told what to do by others in this mode (toons can take this to their advantage).

Mimic means the hologram mimics what ever Cosmo does. While in this mode, Cosmo is able to speak through the hologram and will absorb any damage done to it.

Damn that was a lot longer than i thought it was gonna be, and this is only 1/2-

2nd part will be about The Satellites' dynamics / relationships with each other (spoiler it's mostly a sibling relationship lol)
