All I have now is that each D's have a generational ability and a genetic ability. The generational one is like what the monkey D's have, which is mitosis birth or 'dream' birth. I haven't exactly figured out what the other D's genetic ability would be, but I can say that for ace it would be a mix of his parents genetic abilities

So, say Roger has an ability to effect the world's fate and Rouge having the ability to bend the literal logic (seeing as she literally held ace in for 20 months), it could make ace have the ability to effect logic?

Like he wouldn't be able to bend logic, it's just his existence effects logic itself. Examples are, he effects the logic of birth as he was born after 20 months. Or that he could still talk even after a very fatal injury when logically that would usually leave one unable to even say last words.

For Law, probably the ability to just stay alive like a fly. Dude just WON'T die ToT literally doffy fatally injured him and even severed his arm yet he STILL survived.

What do you think their children would look like? They'd probably have floofy hairs/tails like Yukong (Foxian/Kitsune genetics I've always thought are probs very strong), and they'd probably grow up very spoiled, by Qingni, who'd I'd imagine would be a great older sister, and by the Astral Express whenever they visit.

I can't help but feel like there'd be some friction there between Yukong and the crew, since the crew might feel something is off about Yukong being overly protective, alongside with Stelle's sudden decision to stay on the Luofu, and Yukong is afraid they might try to take Stelle with them.

I also wonder how Qingni would react to the whole situation in the first place. While she'd probably be very happy to see her mother happy, and to have younger siblings, she might also find Stelle's sudden decision to stay a bit weird (not that'd she'd comment on it).

If Stelle and Qingni grow close during Stelle's stay on the Luofu, I could totally see Yukong using that to further try to convince Stelle to stay, pointing out how they make such a lovely family the three of them together. Something along the lines of, It'd be a shame to throw it all away to go explore, and maybe never get to come back to see them. Who knows, maybe we could give Qingni some younger siblings? She did always want some as a child. Surely it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if you somehow ended up pregnant, right?

WHEN YOUR daughter was first born, she was a perfect mix of you and Yukong, with a fluffy tail and ears being the prominent foxian genes in her. She was immediately spoiled and loved by not only you two but the Astral Express as well. She was quickly welcomed into the family, dotted on by someone almost 24/7.

Welt was quickly deemed her Godfather, and was seen as her grandpa considering the fatherly relationship he had with you. Himeko was her Godmother, and she honestly almost cried when you asked her if she'd like to.

Dan Heng was surprisingly protective over her, despite not really knowing... how to treat her, yet he wouldn't dare let someone harm her, like a protective older brother. March 7th was, as expected, absolutely in love with her, declaring her the cool aunt who buys her so much toys, stuffies, clothes- you name it, March will get it.

Qingni was... interesting. She absolutely loved her little sister when she was born, always quick to care and play with her when she got the chance. She'd do anything for her, spoiling her with all sorts of things just like March.

Yet, despite being happy to have a little sister, Qingni couldn't help the weird feeling she had in her chest. Your sudden decision to stay on the Luofu was certainly... sudden, to say the least, and especially how quickly your relationship with her mother grew. While she was happy for Yukong to have found someone to love, she just found it all weird, but she didn't comment on anything, rather just enjoying the fact she has a younger sibling.

Plus, Qingni found herself getting close to you as well. She was really beginning to see you as another mother, despite not calling you mom yet. Which you didn't mind, you were simply happy to have a good relationship with her.

"You and Qingni seem to be getting along fine." Yukong mused as she moved to hug you from behind, nuzzling her face into your neck.

You laugh softly at her affectionate actions, watching as Qingni entertained her baby sister. "I'd like to think so."

"Trust me, she likes you." Yukong reassured, pressing a gentle kiss against your temple before laying her head on your shoulder. "We make quite a lovely family, don't we? Us four."

You thought for a moment, watching as Qingni stopped her sister from chewing on her tail. "Yeah... yeah we do."

Yukong lifted her head, eyeing you for a moment, seeing the way your eyebrows were furrowed together, sensing that something wasn't right. "Is there something wrong, my love?"

"Hm?" You look at her, before quickly shaking your head, then pausing as you thought for a moment. "Nothings wrong, perse... sorry, I'm just having thoughts about missing the Astral Express."

That made worry strike Yukong like a strike of lightning hitting a tree. It wasn't uncommon for you to find yourself having thoughts of the Astral Express crew as well as missing that adventure with them. It scared the old foxian like no other, because she's tried everything to get you to stay here on the Xianzhou with her.

Her ears pulled back against her head, tail swishing back and forth more behind her. She held a hard look on her face when you looked back to gaze at your daughter and Qingni, and Yukong realized what she had to do again to ensure you would stay here with her.

You let out a sudden gasp as you felt Yukong press her front flush against your back, pressing you against the counter you were both standing behind. You quickly gripped the edge of it, eyes widening and face flushing as you felt her press her face into your neck, inhaling your scent while kissing and nipping at your skin.

"Y-Yukong, the girls!" You quickly whispered it with panic, eyes wide as you watched your guys daughters, praying they didn't look over to see one of their mothers pressed so intimately against the other.

"We're fine, they're too distracted by one another," Yukong reassured, her voice low and sultry as she kissed your neck more.

You whimpered softly, before biting your lip to hold back your sounds, not wanting to alert Qingni. You bowed your head slightly, breathing heavy as you felt Yukong grinding her hips against you from behind, letting you feel her growing bulge under her clothes. Her sudden need for you caught you off guard, but you definitely weren't complaining.

"My love, let's go to our room. The girls will be alright by themselves for an hour or so," Yukong murmured, moving to suck on your ear lobe, nibbling on it and making your face flush more.

"J-Just an hour..?" You ask, tilting your head slightly back towards her.

"Just an hour," Yukong repeated, but she had other plans. She was going to keep you locked in your room for however long she wanted, thoroughly breeding you again.

Because there's no way you'd leave the Xianzhou, leave her, if you have a second, maybe third or forth child, right? You wouldn't dare do that to her.

She was going to make sure you'd never leaver.

ok, so [ as we know ], godfrey's got "the generous earldom roderick has bestowed upon him here in asteria ahead of his impending marriage." this was done bc hanthom was (one of!) the seat of house calleary, and ciara was half calleary on her mother's side, plus it was a deeply strategic maritime position and godfrey had a big naval bg etc etc etc. so when they marry, ciara will be lady hanthom and that all makes a lot of sense to roderick! an d until that time godfrey gets to build it up to the standard to be the seat of a varmont!

BUT!! if roderick's awarding one of the wealthiest spots in astaira to godfrey so that his cousin can live there upon her marriage, what's he gonna give to the guy who is ~also roderick's own cousin AND is abt to wed roderick's favorite child?????

so i talked abt this a bit on disco on the lfr-general channel, but i wanted to put it here too bc we know already that tryna search ~two places has proven a total disaster in the past and this way it can be easily tagged etc so your girl will ~always want a copy on tumblr <333333

so!! i do think that, while we know our boy don't know the first thing really abt astaira, astairans, or what matters to them, he ~does know that stafford is where most of the rulers he's ever known were and that's his. kil-kennar was the religious stronghold and arthur's got that.

so that leaves as ~very strong contednors:

lorcan was the seat of the ~other astairan king he knew abt (tho he probs ~thinks they ruled from stafford during that time alksjdfjsdf) so lorcan ~also has royal significance

malconaire is the largest county in all astaira, plus guin has ancient familial ties to that place (but honestly????? i kinda doubt he knows that? but he might? how aware is @forgottenguinevere of that?) and is also a pr strategic point (esp if you've got kil-kennar and the fens)

i ~do think he'd want guin's primary seat to be in astaira, since that's the capital now, so i do think that is a big consideration.

some others i think he'd def also consider include:

ormond -- (if lord ormond ticks roderick off too much re cassandra!) which is one of the larger holdings in astaira due to the convergence of two houses creating it -- hence their importance in showing up at the battle of m bc they could field so many fighters (but it still wasn't enough...) which is def smth that roderick would key in on!

the fens -- which is profoundly strategic in its placement and, having both that and kil-kennar you basically have a stranglehold on the country splitting it in half and which roderick could easily hand over wo all the fuss involved w the others since he, himself, holds the fens in his own name atm

unnamed/unknown/new county -- we know there're a TON of these so like!!!!!!!! big possibilities here tooooo plus its always fun to start w fresh world building possibilities! ;D and that might suit you better, lauren, since its not new stuff to learn?

Listen, his clothing style is completely random and tacky, but he makes it work somehow, maybe because he's excessively handsome? Jk, I think his style reflects who he is as a character, he can dress formally too ofc, when the occasion is offered, but otherwise he's just not interested in that, and his huge coats and oversized clothes as well as his large built and height, make him appear as this huge friendly bear, intimidating as a mafia should be, but also super warm and cozy when you get to see his smile and super soft personality.

I really love Dio's character in Khr, I love so many characters so it's difficult to pick favorites, but I'd have wanted to see him more (like not as a side character, but see his work, life, powers etc as an individual and the Cavallone family in general) that's why I wanna write smth for me abt him (prob gonna share it with my sis). And while I was looking back on his appearance and fashion choice, did I really start analyzing it, like ofc all khr is like this, it reminds me in a sense of bleach with how random the fits were, it's nostalgic to the 2000's style and I love it ofc, I love homey comfy clothes, they just put you in a different mood.

But since Dino is from the few characters who aren't attending school, and he doesn't give a shit abt official wear, that's why we get to see some of that clothing style ppl were wearing at the time. I'm saying it's the fashion sense of that period yes, but the author still gives their character their individuality, like Gokudera has a very edgy punk fashion statement, despite being in school he's always popping up with a new killer outfit and it's so interesting to see. (like I'm acknowledging here that they don't only wear their school uniforms, it's just what they wear the most, but he's still outstanding outside of that contrary to the others who made made forget they wore other stuff)

This is just a rumble and if I start talking about everyone and comparing, it'll be a mess, so let's just focus on Dino. The guy is at the head of one of the biggest mafia families of his time and at such a young age, all of his men are in uniforms to give their family a decent representation as a serious gangsta mafia unite, but their leader doesn't, he just dresses up like a hipster. The thing is he can clearly afford to dress up more richly, but he doesn't.

In manga and animes, I usually make a wild guess that authors may not know if what the person is wearing is considered fashionable,( like I'm an artist and have absolutely no idea how my characters will be perceived, I could think 'this character needs to appear fashionable' but ppl online will call them tacky and messy, especially generations later, across continents ) I have also a feeling that bcz it was so old the perception of fashion was different (as I have pointed many times) and lastly, bcz the Mangaka (s) is/are prob Japanese, they could have a certain image (right or wrong) over foreign fashion, esp from a country as fashionable as Italy, so that'd explain why they wanna give an impression with characters that came from there, like Gokudera his sister Bianchi and Dino, saying like look these ppl are youngsters from Italy, they wear like 2000's magazines. All of these are speculations, to say that those could be some reasons those characters wear this specific way.

If we put these aside, and consider that the Manga artist know exactly what they are doing and it's 100% what you think it is, in this case, Dio's décontracté objectively messy style compared to his men, has a clear message, he's saying" I'm your homie clumsy big bro, fuck étiquette, i'm the boss hanging out with my fam, let me live my age, I'm tired of this mafia stuff so I don't have time to dress up so I put on this mop I found on the trash bin." or whatever. But that appearance could also be 100% intentional, maybe he wanna look approachable to Tsuna sensing he'll become the head of the Vangolla and wanting to maintain a good alliance with them so he needs tsuna to like him, he also us aware he's staying around kids and don't wanna intimidate them with formal wear again because those kids are future mafia allies and he's counting a lot on their family in general. Or he just genuinely want to give a good impression because of he's a genuine guy and his family despite being mafia, have a pretty good reputation.

In conclusion. Dino can wear suits, we saw him in them, yet his appearance is mostly casual( but still gangsta, more like street gangsta, your local drug dealer not huge corporation like) , he still looks intimidating from a first glance until you get on his good side and discover he's a good guy. He could prefer this style over the other because it's cozier and more like him or because he wanna appear cozier and thinks that's the way to do it (altho he'd have made his men dress up to if that was the case). Whatever is the case, I just think it represents his personality a lot and his character in the series (as underrated as I feel it was) as well as the time era.

Do you have any advice/tips for a 15 y/o who thinks they just have no control over their life? Like, my concentration is dog shit, i think my grades are slipping. My executive dysfunction so bad and i think i'm disappointing a lot of people. I have no idea how to handle anything in my life. I can't force myself to do the things i need to (not that that'd be any good, i'll immediately cry lol). I just, don't fucking know how i could make things better for myself. And i can't really talk to adults about it, they'll repeat the stuff i already know, and i am the worst person to put their feelings into words, so they'll prob never understand. Not in the edgy way.

Dude, you’re unfortunately suffering from being 15. And possibly a learning disorder. Godspeed to you.

And I don’t say that to belittle your problems. In many ways as a teenager you don’t have control over a lot of things. You’re still under the control of your parents, you’re still learning how to deal with adult level emotions and ideas. A lot is expected of you and a lot of things are made to seem more important than they are. It’s hard to tell what’s actually important and what’s just adults blowing things out of proportion. It sucks and it’s frustrating!

If you can, you might want to talk to a counselor. If your parents or guardians are anti-counseling you might try to talk to someone at your school like a teacher or administrator or school nurse about the possibility of getting counseling without your parents knowing. Some schools have programs like that.

The adults closest to you might not understand but if you keep looking you’ll eventually find someone who remembers what it’s like to be in your shoes.

And I remember fully feeling like I’d never get control over anything. The end goal of life was graduation from high school and god only knows if I keep existing after that. But the thing is, you do! You keep existing and you figure a lot of stuff out. Wisdom does come with time, it turns out. And legally and practically you end up getting a lot more autonomy as time goes on.

And I know hearing things like this might not feel comforting. When you’re stuck, you’re stuck and no matter how much you logically know it’ll get better right now it sucks.

Just find ways to keep going. And try asking for help sometimes. If your family won’t listen, find someone who will. Take the time to write down your problems and how you feel if you can’t come up with explanations of what’s going on. Or find a friend to talk it out with so you can practice explaining yourself.

If there’s one thing I can promise you, when you’re a couple years into adulthood all of the problems from your teenage years start to feel small. At the time they were big and important though. And that’s what you’re going through right now. And a lot of adults forget about that. Hang in there, and when all of this is behind you, remember how hard it was and maybe someday you can help someone like you.

I’m sorry if all that wasn’t helpful. I don’t know too much about your individual situation. But ask for help when you can. Someone out there understands. You’ll find them.

15. Neon Genesis Evangelion

This started out as a boring, old mecha anime for me and then the sudden dark shift to more psychological and philosophical issues of the characters made me fall in love. I still think about it a lot. This hit so deep it affected my own mental state after finishing it. Like damn, I related too hard. This is a classic for a reason, but it hits harder if you relate I'd say. The animation is such a vibe as well. So many shots I'd look at and be like "dang, I want to draw that" or "that'd be a sick gif" so yeah. Amazinggg animation. Amazing anime.

14. Cowboy Bebop

Cowboy Bebop was the first anime I ever liked. I was introduced to it by my cousin when I'd sleep over and we'd be watching Adult Swim all night together. I do hold some nostalgia for it, but also it holds up well in all aspects (story, animation, OST, characters). The animation in this show is probably my favorite in all anime. It's such a vibe. It's probably the anime I rewatch the most just because I always throw it on for the vibes. Plus, I love the sci fi setting.

13. Jujutsu Kaisen

I watched s1 of JJK like a couple of years ago and then watching S2 while I was sick in bed with the flu late last year is what got me into anime fully. I don't think JJK has the strongest story out there, but the characters being cool looking and likable plus the cool ass fights are why I adore this show. MAPPA really cooked with the fights. This is the first anime I had to read the manga ASAP after I finished the anime. Yeah, that's about it. It's just a really dope show with sick fights and sick characters.

12. 86 Eighty-Six

It's such an incredible story with a beautiful OST. This actually is one of the anime that hit the hardest/deepest emotionally for me in a similar manner to Attack on Titan. I find that funny because Hiroyuki Sawano made the OST for both. It's not just the music though, the story is impressively profound. It deals with topics such as government corruption, discrimination, racism, and war extremely well. I particularly loved the journey of Shin's reasoning to continue to fight and exist. Additionally, Major Milize's journey to make a difference and fight despite her privilege made for a great character arc. I think this has one of my all time favorite endings out of all media, it feels perfect after everything we experience each character go through. This really is an incredible story, one of the very best I've watched.

11. Parasyte: The Maxim

This show gave me some fucked up dream I absolutely loved it though. It's a psychological horror done right. I loved the psychological and philosophical questions about what makes us human. I also loved Shinichi's journey of losing his humanity due to sharing a body with a parasite. It was cool seeing the parasites react to fitting in human society by organizing together so that they can thrive while not being hunted themselves. This is such a solid story that I was hooked on.

10. Death Note

I'm actually surprised at how much I enjoyed Death Note. Like, I know it's beloved by so many, but I had tried it years ago and dropped it (probs due to my undiagnosed ADHD at the time). Regardless, it's fuckin good. There's so much tension and scheming that kept me absolutely hooked. I love the psychological war between Light and L. L might be one of the best characters out there. The only reason why it isn't in my top 5 I'd say is because I don't love the ending. I think the stronger points were before a major thing happens that I think anyone that's watched knows what I'm talking about. With that said, I still had a good time watching the whole thing. If the ending had stuck then this could have easily been one of the GOATs and a masterpiece, but regardless, it's still very much worth watching and I still loved it.

9. Fruits Basket

I have a history w/ this story. I lowkey watched the early 00s version of this like way back in junior high maybe? or high school? I remember loving it, but not finishing it. I had forgotten most of the story over the years and forgotten it even existed for all these years. The only things I can remember from then is that the guys turned into zodiac animals for some reason and Tohru and Kyo had a thing going on.

So, watching the 2019 version this year was such a treat. The story really hits you in the feels. I LOVE that every single character is developed strongly. Tohru is the best girl. It's just such a wonderful story with both heartbreaking and heartwarming moments throughout. I truly love this show SO much. I think I binged the final season in one day. Tohru and Kyo's slow burn romance had me DYING for more moments each episode.

8. Mob Psycho 100

I was surprised by how much I loved mp100. It comes across as a silly anime with a unique animated style, but it's so much more than that. I actually am considering this being top 5, but I'll keep it here for the moment. This has some of the coolest fights I've watched for a show where the theme doesn't even revolve around fighting as the main conflict. I found it easy to connect to the characters on an emotional level. Seeing Mob's growth as a person, who at the start only had his insane psychic powers going for him, was beautiful. What I loved about this show was the focus on each character growing and learning to accept themselves and appreciate the people (or spirits heh) in their lives. I never thought I'd watch this show and cry lmfao. It's so damn good.

7. Serial Experiments Lain

This show can get a bit absurd with what's going on and that's exactly why I love it. Sometimes it doesn't even make sense at first and you're like "what the fuck?" and those head fuck moments give me life! I love the existential questions this show asks. The psychological deep dive of figuring out one's own existence. This show was ahead of its time when dealing with the way the internet would change the world. The wired leaking into real life is such a cool concept to explore. Idk, I still feel like I am comprehending this one and a rewatch will be necessary. It has me questioning my own life and for that, I have to say it's one of my favorites!

6. Haikyu!!

Who would have thought a show about playing volleyball would be THIS good? There are so many hyped moments that had me tearing up out of pure joy. I found myself cheering like I was watching a real live sports match ahahah. The volleyball aspect of this show is quite accurate. It's wonderful to see each player's hard work pay off throughout the seasons/matches. Haikyuu is brilliant at character development and character interactions. It's crazy how it gets you to even feel bad, root for, and even love the players on the opposing teams. I love my main boys at Karasuno so much more though. This show can cure depression. Especially if that depression is from your irl sports team -.- lmfao.

5. Frieren: Beyond Journey's End

Well, Frieren is #1 on My Anime List for a reason. I think the first season we got was perfect in literally every single aspect when it comes to anime. Frieren has my favorite modern animation and artstyle out of everything else I've watched. It's become my comfort show. It's hard to say much more than it's just perfect. The story, the OST, the world building, the characters, the animation. It's all perfect. It's a beautiful reminder to appreciate the people in your life and to live in the moment.

4. Nana

This show emotionally damaged me. I was HOOKED. I couldn't stop watching it. Nana and Hachi's relationship was beautifully haunting. Also, I definitely viewed this as comphet (but it's still good even if you view them as platonic soulmates). I mean, both Nanas confess their love for each other in various ways throughout the whole series. It's always about their need to be in each other's lives... and that's why it hurts even more. I wish we got a true ending and I wish we got more of the happy days! The characters and their relationships are what make this show special. It still lives rent free in my mind months after finishing.

3. The Apothecary Diaries

Okay, it might be recency bias, but I'm surprised how much I LOVED this one immediately. Something clicked for me with it. Maomao is one of my favorite protagonists in any show ever - she absolutely makes this show. Of course, the animation, soundtrack, story, etc etc etc are excellent as well. I thought the humorous moments were well-timed and didn't overdo it. Plus, I usually think anime humor is cringe, but this show actually had very funny moments to me. I enjoyed the mysteries of each episode and couldn't stop binging until I finished. This is definitely one of those shows that I connected with on a personal level and for that, it's immediately one of my favorites. I loved getting to see such an incredible character, who is a woman in a patriarchal society, navigate said society by using her knowledge and skills while also helping her fellow women she crossed paths with. I love so much about Maomao's personality, I'd probably write way too much if I explained why.

2. Steins;Gate

This is one of the best stories in anime. I also think that it is the best time traveling story I have ever watched. I know people say up until episode 12 is a slow burner, but I never thought it felt that way. I could just watch all the characters do weird science experiments and random shenanigans together for a whole season or two. Plus, the building up of the mystery and tension during the first half of the show is exquisite. It all pays off in the 2nd half when shit gets crazy. Seriously, this story gets so good it's *chefs kiss* Also, the ending is great and REWARDING after all the suffering Okabe goes through. (Even more after watching Steins;Gate 0!). It's a goddamn masterpiece.

1. Attack on Titan

Watching Attack on Titan was one of the rare pieces of media where I started watching because of all the hype and it still exceeded my expectations. Before I started this show, I didn't even really think I'd like it because of the dumbest reasons: I didn't like the colors and the story seemed not interesting to me at all. AND OH MAN I WAS SO WRONG! I knew by the middle of s1 that I was watching something special tbf lol.

AoT is the only anime that no other anime can even touch when it comes to brilliance imo. I keep trying to find another tv show that hits as hard for me. This is one of THE greatest stories of all time. I truly wish I could erase my memory of this show and watch it again for the first time.

It has the craziest plot twists. There's so many mysteries throughout the first 3 seasons that kept me absolutely hooked. I love how it takes an even darker and realistic turn in s4 too. It's one of the rare shows where it keeps getting better and better as it goes on. Rewatches of this show are insane as well because of all the foreshadowing that you don't recognize the first time. And to top it all off, the OST by Hiroyuki Sawano is absolutely breathtaking. I seriously can't stop listening to itttt. This has genuinely become my favorite show of all time (sorry Arc*ne, I still love you). It's insane how invested I became in the story and its characters. I still think about it daily. It has some of the PEAK moments in fiction, especially in season 3 and 4. I never thought I'd actually cry watching anime until this one; there were many moments that had me bawling. I could go on and on about this show.

TLDR?: AoT is simply a 10/10 goddamn masterpiece that everyone should watch.

GUHHHHH I JUST REREAD SOME PARTS OF THE BBF AND Q&AS THIS IS PERFECT

SPOILERS UNDER THE CUT

FINALLY RAIZO CONTENT. apparently used to be a top kogetsu user (at 18 yrs) before getting pissed off at shooters/gunners gaining extreme popularity (around the time nino and izumi joined) and became an engineer so he could make the raygust for anti-shooter fighting by attackers (and then gained weight. however this doesnt seem to have reduced his physical abilities by much if any bc his place on the physical fitness chart in the bbf is pretty solid). JUICY to me. i wonder if he'll target shooters/gunners first? or just take orders from kazama. his skill stat is a 10 in the bbf, so im excited to see him fight

(also kazama and raizo are drinking buddies/friends outside of work along with suwa and reiji so this is funny to me. i hope we get some funny scenes of them interacting amidst all the battle/strategy stuff, esp since raizo can hold his liquor decently but kazama cannot. perhaps a peek of embarrassing kazama stories ?! i doubt it tho lol they're prob gonna be locked in. suwa's face during the announcement also makes me think he's thinking smth like "i have to fight RAIZO???")

cronin is a pleasant surprise to me too! he's the chief engineer so i hope for some cool trigger outputs from him (if he can modify stuff on the fly that'd be interesting? or made some things especially for the members of his team prior to the test) + i feel like he will be fairly comfortable in the testing environment since he's a neighbor lol. in an old panel he had a kogetsu, so i'm excited to see if he's yet another sword-wielding neighbor like hyuse! maybe some aristeran combat tactics?

MY GOAT SAWAMURA. USED TO BE AN ATTACKER BEFORE TRANSFERRING TO HQ ADMIN BC HER TRION GLAND STOPPED DEVELOPING AND HER TRION ISNT SUPER GOOD IIRC? bbf gives her a strong defense support stat, and given the shinoda-style trenchcoat she has on, i hope to see her use kogetsu! maybe two kogetsu!! sawamura senku!!!! she's not quite the "ace" that kitora is (her stats are actually overall lower than kitora's, though her trion is higher), but i think she'll be a good rock in arashiyama squad + bring some insight from experience + mesh well with them since she likely works with them a lot (as arashiyama squad is in shinoda faction)

AND RINDO. RINDO THE DARK HORSE. HAS 3 POINTS HIGHER THAN SHINODA IN THE BBF (?!) AND IS TOP 5 IN THE BBF FOR TRION LEVELS SO IM HYPE!!!! SHOW US WHAT YOU CAN DO BRANCH CHIEF RINDO!!!!!! TROUNCE THEIR ASSES!! im sure miwa wont like working with him (takes too many breaks + likes neighbors), but he'll def be useful (unless he feels like slacking off during?); his bbf stats give him sort of a dependable all-rounder appeal instead of an all-out attack kind of guy that shinoda is. im very excited for him

im going to assume each of these characters' preferred weapons should vaguely coincide with the roles they're going to fill; utagawa and kikucchi are both sword users, so raizo (confirmed former kogetsu user/raygust inventor; seems to have a raygust on him) and cronin (seen with a sword in the past) make sense. sawamura was an attacker, but if she uses kogetsu + senku she can probably align closer with kitora's pistol attacks (kitora mostly does close combat anyway, so i dont think the lack of a ranged weapon would inhibit sawamura too much, esp since the rest of arashiyama squad uses mid- to long-range guns). rindo we have no idea what weapons he uses BUT if he's filling in kodera's role i assume he was a sniper or gunner/shooter; he prob wasnt a sniper since his range stat isnt super high, though. maybe he was an attacker/all rounder and miwa will just have to make do with losing a ranged attacker? im sure narasaka will do well by himself anyhow

i kind of wonder how certain provisional test members will react when coming to blows with their usual teammates (i.e. kikucchi and utagawa vs kazama, kodera vs the rest of miwa squad, kitora vs the rest of arashiyama squad). i feel like kageura might be excited not just bc combat is where he shines but bc he gets to kick a-rank asses again LMAO. i can imagine some silly banter between murakami and tachikawa, and i cant wait for any ikoma moments. also rindo looks really cool rn

this is a surface level rant on my part. honestly if i had the time and research skills id look up the context of why this was written and how its been used in media up till this point. honestly i might. either way its fairly surface level.

This song is heard when Crowley is going back to Aziraphale in season 2 after he found out about the book of life erasing thing. After listening to this song I have to say. THIS IS AMAZING. obviously the song is good its queen.

Crowley's songs are always queen songs and given the title and given Aziraphales regular dress and general pop culture knowledge i think we know who the “good old fashioned lover boy” is.

This is obviously a romance song but similarly to “A Nightingale Sang In Berkeley Square.” the lyrics fit their relationship so nicely!!! (as well as being an absolute bop. LISTEN TO THIS GODDAMN SONG. i like the part at 1:44. so cheery!!!)(also this is why Neil Gaimen is AWESOME such small details in the fucking SONG a fucking BENTLEY plays.)(its like 1:09am and im still up after not getting sleep last night and prob none today so ima go on tangents like this hehe)

like come on man. “Dining at the Ritz” its Aziracrows THING. their whole routine is dine at the ritz, Aziraphale eats and crowley drinks copious amounts of alcohol, Crowley is always seen paying the bill (or doing something of the sort), they drive in a cool fucking bentley (with a James Bond bullet hole window screen insert), and they go back to Aziraphales bookshop. and the “that'd be fine” matches Aziraphales general attitude when inviting Crowley back to his place in the 1st season and in older flashbacks. Now thats the most obvious. there are many other examples of lyrics that very conveniently match to them.

“Say the word, your wish is my command”

throughout history when Aziraphale and Crowley met up they did favors. whether it be making Hamlet successful, performing magic on the west end stage, getting holy water (“You go too fast for me Crowley.”YOU MF AZIRAPHALE WHYYYY) or magicing away some paint on a very old well kept jacket. they always do things like this for each other. focusing solely on Crowley's perspective he, throughout history, has always been the one to accept Aziraphales requests with little to no complaints. (until Armageddon i suppose)

even in season 2 he lets Aziraphale use his bentley. Although there is some bickering there, he still lets it happen. He doesn't sell books while Aziraphale is away and he even carries them around (the sleeve garters are a whole other thing in this scene)

now realistically the “good old fashioned lover boy” is, im sure, referring to both of them. also the song just feels gay. just listen to it. its gay. i swear.

Now. not saying it matches perfectly. obviously it doesn't but even the GO fandom links the two pieces of media on occasion(see second link). they are inexplicably connected, whether its false pattern recognition (i have currently forgotten the proper term for that. T-T) or intended by mr gaiman i think its so intriguing that the songs picked to play fit so nicely into the deeper narrative. this. is good media

Essentially means smooth talking on the phone. Which you have to admit Crowley does to Aziraphale quite often. And Aziraphale writes letters. honestly its cute. specially im thinking of season 1 when Aziraphale is writing a note to Crowley while they are on the phone. its later in the season in the last ditch rush to stop the antichrist.

I used the bit of lyrics that fit them the best in the beginning of the rant. and time for my least convincing point. the vibe just fits them so well. the slightly old school beat with simple romantic lyrics. Its not anything overtly sexual. just the simplicities of romance. IT FUCKING FITTSSS!!!!

R. Set would probably find it amusing, honestly. If that was the case; R would probably teach them a bunch of stuff just so they'd know how to do whatever, like maybe throwing shurikens, too.

With R. Set, they know various things. Magic, too a degree (No scientists would know unless R wants to purposefully terrify them with it-), how to make the iconic meat cake, and how to do maintenance on animatronics. They also know how to dance, but don't really do it a lot (Usually like once a year, in what they call the ‘Refuge Dimension’, during this sort of ball that happens there once a year or so).

Aside from that, they'd probably ask what everyone's preferences are for things, like pronouns, foods, and if they're comfortable with pats on the shoulder and things like that. R. Set isn't usually touchy, but tends to at least try and show their appreciation for a person, usually by shoulder pats.

R. Set wouldn't need to show their magic. KC is a bit of a magic nerd, and he's learned, and is still learning, as many forms of magic as he can.

Also, touch is usually reserved for family only. It's kinda like with pack animals (seein as they are that), how they deepen their bonds by touching family members. R. Set would probs be better off with verbal appreciation, which would make the family act much calmer around them as well.

But yeah, congrats to them for becoming the resident "shows cool trick!" entity. They shall know lots of peace except for the short periods where they're bothered

I SAW YOUR POST ABOUT THE PSYCHOPOMP HELMET AND I HAVE TO ASK HOW’D YOU MAKE IT??

i wanted to cosplay her at some point in the future but i’ve never tried my hand at prop making or anything of that matter really so i can’t wrap my head around any like basic concepts to make the psychopomp itself 😭😭

sorry for taking abit to answer, wanted to make sure I was at my PC to answer so I can give Exact Images n stuff of what I got/used

warning: you're gonna need some serious power tools for this. alotta bits I had to get help from my dad bc he has SO MANY hobbies that involve power tools lol

For the base:

you need a good helmet. n finding one of those ain't easy, so you're probs gonna haveta Make Do with something you can cut parts off of.

I used something like this, but cut off the parts that jut out at the ears and the lip at the front. The internal bit that keeps your Actual Head from touching the Actual Helmet is VERY helpful bc (atleast w/ mine) it wasnt a layer of foam or anything that'd be finnicky, it was just straps.

theoretically could also use a cheap-y baseball helmet though obvi you still gotta Mutilate it

For the accessories™:

The antannae are actual extendable radio antannae I harvested from an old boombox n another thing, but you can buy JUST the antannae online

the megaphone/satellite dish bit my dad helped me cut n gut a car alarm type thing and attatch it w/ this silicone stuff he had on hand

And the headphone pieces on the sides are a set of vintage radio headphones I found at a thrift store. these to be exact (they're not v rare n go for 10-30 bucks on ebay)

Though any old, chunky headphones could easily work. These were just what I had on hand. And, as a useful thing, the metal prongs connecting to the headband were perfect to easily bolt in place on the helmet and keep them flexible for easy putting on and taking off. The little radio speaker-y bits on the outside I added my dad had laying around though obvi not 1000% Necessary

And that's all really for the easily bought supplies

The front plate is Literally just a chunk of sheet metal he happened to have on hand, and added the bolts to. The fifth bolt in the middle is the only Functional one that actually attatches to the helmet

And the bit keeping the wires in place is a piece of plastic we melted to shape, painted accordingly, then hot glued in place. Added the screws to make it look abit more Cohesive with the rest of it.

The staples specifically on mine are holes drilled then w/ v thin wire fed through and twisted and trimmed.

Some smaller seams n details I added with super glue since it gave a v subtle raised effect, and bc it cracked in shipping I had to super glue some of the cracks back together Anyways lmao

also had to do alot of spraypainting to get it the right color. Make sure to paint the "accessories" seperate before assembly bc trying to tape off everything could end up Annoying and that way the metal bolts and the plate can retain their orig metal color to add contrast.

Also make sure you get Matte paint, bc it'll look goofy shiny. Preferably something meant for outdoor use bc those will have the more gritty textures you're looking for n its easy to find.

For any extra scuffing n details I did some dry brushing w/ grey and black acrylic to add depth. Best way to do it imo is add some drybrush with a scrappy old paintbrush then wipe away some with a paper towel

or just use a paper towel with a v tiny, thinly spread bit of paint

Hopefully this helps atleast some!! If you need more detailed shots of my helmet for better reference just lemme know, I just dont feel like going to grab her rn for a photo shoot lmao

Concubinage Behind the Scenes - ch.10&12

I know they're separated by another chapter, but I've decided to talk about these two together since they're linked.

Chapter 10

I don't have much to say here, except to say that this chapter wasn't planned at all. It's one of those that just springs on you when you least expect it (as is often the case when Minah is involved lol). It basically happened like: okay I need a short scene of Arst asking Minah to teach him healing artes → somehow she's roped him into cleaning her shop and gossiping about Lars' possible infertility. I'm telling you, this character has a mind of her own.

I'm really enjoying it, though. I know I'm the author, but it's like I get to discover what she comes up with next just as much as my readers lol. Anyway I talked a bit about her backstory in the chapter itself or the characters post, so there isn't a lot to add, aside from the fact that, since then, I've discovered the manga&anime Kusuriya no Hitorigoto, and Maomao is like Minah's spiritual sister from another universe lmao (Minah is less snarky, but they're very similar in many ways).

Minah's old (by Xillia standards), and also a doctor/pharmacist, so she's completely unfazed by talks of sexual activities and is rather blunt about it, to Arst and Lin's great embarrassment. She's not deliberately trying to embarrass them (though she does find their reactions amusing, like "ah, youth..."), she just wants to help. Arst is usually not that shy about sexual topics either, but it's a bit different when the resident grandma is talking about his sex life so matter-of-factually. He'll probs get used to it eventually though. Lin definitely won't 😂

And yeah Lars having weak swimmers is my own headcanon, but like... Wingul's backstory short story makes a big deal about how hard it was for him to finally get an heir, and since my AU's setting has a concubine system, that's the most likely explanation LOL. Also because it's funny to imagine he's the reason he can't have many children. I feel bad for Nui and his concubines, though, because of course he (and society) would put the blame on them. Minah knows what's up though ;)

Chapter 12

Healing artes worldbuilding :D

idk, I just loooove developing battle mechanics in a way that'd make sense from an in-universe perspective. Healing magic is especially fascinating, because there are many ways this could go depending on how you conceive it. Personally, I wanted the process to not be too easy... like, cast a spell, they're cured, yay. That'd be boring. And Xillia has canonically shown that there are limits to what healing artes can do (Milla's legs being a big example), plus the fact there's a whole school to learn how to use them... Honestly that's one of my favorite parts of Xillia's worldbuilding, it treats healing as a specialization you study for. So, a good knowledge of human anatomy, as well as illnesses, injuries, and their causes, are essential to being a good healer. Add that worldbuilding bit about channeling being about "making a wish" to the spirits, and that's basically how I developed the process, where intent and knowledge of what you're doing are more important than mana lobe abilities (maybe that's why Jude is such a good doctor despite his less developed mana lobe).

(As an aside, Elize would look like a glaring counterexample, but I think it still works with her: she's one of those "instincts" casters who can afford to be a bit more vague about their conscious intent, because the subconscious wish is strong enough; then the sheer power provided by Teepo's boost fills the gaps. This also explains why hers are group heals while all the other doctor/nurse characters only have single-target spells. Basically, Jude and Leia'd be like "let me fix that broken bone", while Elize is "make my friends better", and, yeah, maybe it's less efficient at healing that specific bone, but since the spell is boosted, it does the job.)

So, yeah, in this universe (and all my Xillia fics tbh) there's a whole process that takes place with healing artes, and Arst is finally properly learning how to do it.

I'll add that the bit about still feeling the injury for a while after healing is partly because... again, it'd be too easy otherwise. Not that I necessarily want the characters to suffer (😈), but the whump chapters are supposed to raise the stakes. If everything was fine with a little spell, I think we'd lose a lot of the emotional impact. It's also fun to develop worldbuilding around that specific aspect. For example, I headcanon that battle wounds healed shortly after the fight are actually quicker to recover from, because the adrenaline of the fight doesn't leave you much leeway to process the injury (depending on how severe, though). Whereas Arst didn't have anything else to focus on when taking Li's beating, so the ghost pains linger. In a way, it's more psychological than anything. As Minah said in ch.7, the brain needs to catch up with the facts that the wounds are gone.

Like part of the reason I'm so excited about it it's because it requires different skills – character design, hairstyling, painting, even sewing!!!! And idk it just brings me joy to be able to create something "out of thin air", so to speak

BRO IVE BEEN WANTING TO DO BJD'S FOR AGES its only recently that i kinda want to make the sandersons sbndndndnd. i still wanna do the plushies first cuz im not super great with making things by hand and i dont have the materials to make bjd's of 'em yet. i do have some old dolls, but i get the feeling that if i try to work on them, theyre gonna get really badly messed up

initially i wanted to make the redesigns i have for some of my fave monster high characters so they look more monstery, mostly headmistress bloodgood cuz i am determined to make her look more like a dullahan cuz i have so many thoughts about that in particular and im a lil saddened they never really took that route, but its understandable cuz a) that'd probs take a lot of time to animate and b) dullhahan are actually really terrifying and i dont think they wanted to make her so scary that she'd frighten kids (i feel like if they did go that route, lil kid me wouldve fallen even harder for her than i already did and that is saying something sbdbdn)

i feel like you could probably use some kind of sculpting or modeling clay to add on to the dolls to make them fat, but idk what types of clay would work for that dbbdbd. like, ive seen so many people use clay to sculpt out horns or thicken and/or lengthen a doll's arms or legs, so i dont see why you couldnt do somwthing similar for mary

i swear its something about creating a 3 dimensional thing that feels so exciting and so intrinsicly human, if that makes sense? like, being able to make dolls and figurines and charms and stuff out of clay and puting it together onto something sturdy to make sure it doesnt fall to pieces, something people have done since forever and changed it over time with new materials to work with and new processes to use it just. idk if im maoing a lick of sense, i just woke up shdjdnnf

i dont really have much experience in the sculpting area, but i think thats what makes working with new mediums so much fun. just being able to mess around and learn firsthand what works and doesnt work and learning from that, using your old creations and inspiration for something new. thats part of the reason why i keep a lot of my sketches, even if theyre really old. i always wind up inspired by it, and i wind up recreating the thing with how i do art now, or i try to put it into a new medium i learned as a sort of testament to how much that thing meant to me

aahh, i rambled on too shdjjd. i really wanna make dolls of them now. maybe i should see if my community college has any sculpting classes, that way even if we dont quite learn to make human/human adjacent things, it might give me just the help i need to be able to do it
