DO NOT. AT ME. I PROMISE I’VE THOUGHT THIS THROUGH. I know most people who read that will be like “what the fuck Boothill would NOT be a perfect partner” and that’s where you’re right ! No, he would be an awful partner !

For MOST people. 

But see, he wouldn’t be just ANYONE’S partner. 

If you’re dating him, it means you’re exactly his type and he’s exactly yours. You wouldn’t date a guy like him if he wasn’t exactly what you wanted. He lays out all his cards on the table right away. Your relationship won’t have the chance to even begin if you’re not head over heels immediately bro 😭😭😭

With most characters I can imagine them in a relationship with a lot of different kinds of people. Like for example yeah I can imagine Aventurine both dating someone more reserved and sweet or someone bold and loud. Or someone like Argenti Lord knows that man could love ANYONE (or anyTHING tbh), but with Boothill there’s just a very narrow range of personalities I can imagine him with. Hence the rating cause he’d only be in one kind of relationship.

Okay I’ll be honest I’m not very caught up on Dr Ratio (I briefly hated him I only recently started liking him again HELP) so forgive me if there is some mischaracterisation in this I’m working on it my view on him isn’t complete yet 🙏🙏

Though Ratio is very ruled by logic, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t have emotions. Furthermore, he views these emotions as important. Logic is not inherently opposed to emotions, and in fact, ignoring them would be illogical. 

That is to say, yes, he’s an intellectual man. But he also has a high emotional intelligence 😇😇

Like not in the way of knowing how to cope with them. I don’t think he feels many strong emotions regularly (except for annoyance lol), so I think he in fact gets kind of overwhelmed by them around you and never knows how to regulate them properly HELP

But what I meant to say is that, in a relationship, he considers your thoughts and feelings a lot and makes an effort to prioritise them. He does not want for you to be unhappy. 

He values you very highly. He takes all your opinions into consideration and treats them with respect.

He loves you a lot it’s actually ridiculous. He frequently gets annoyed at himself for how much he finds himself downright SIMPERING over you. 

And like yes Ratio can be very harsh in the way he speaks but I think that 1, his care for people (including the “fools” and “idiots” he seems to scorn so often) shows and it shows even more apparently for people he cares about, and 2 I think he realises it would be inappropriate to be as rude as he usually is to you. You two are in a relationship, you are not some stranger. He cannot go around criticising you constantly, that would not be a healthy dynamic. Meaning he softens his vocabulary for you. 

His care for you is very blatantly obvious. In the beginning I think he’s a bit embarrassed to show you affection. He hasn’t ever dated anyone, much less been in a relationship, with anyone before you (I honestly don’t even think he’s had his first kiss 😭😭), so I think his inexperience plays a part in it. But he still shows you as obviously as he can that he loves you, and he doesn’t shy away from vulnerability in private moments. 

Bro has researched how to be a good partner trust 🤞

He communicates very clearly with you as often as possible. He hates misunderstandings, and tries to avoid them whenever possible. The two of you are almost always on the same page. 

Whenever you argue, he still does not want you to leave the argument feeling unloved. Type to sigh, let his eyes soften and say “I believe it would be best if we both had some time to cool down”, then squeeze your shoulder as he passes you out of the room. Kisses you goodnight before you go to sleep. It’s often easier to talk it out the next day. 

The only things bumping him down from a 10/10 for me is the fact that he doesn’t have that much time to spare for time with only you (his schedule is very packed), and the fact that he cannot cope with his OWN emotions 😭 Great with yours because he can logistically figure out how to handle them, terrible with his own because they’re affecting his own mind and he isn’t used to it

Surprisingly high rating for a guy like him but I swear I’ve thought about this ok don’t leave 😔😔😔

I think it takes…. A lot. Like a lot a lot. To break through Blade’s tough outer shell

He hates letting people in so much it’s actually crazy

The closest person he has before he meets you is probably Kafka, and that’s not really by his own choice he would shut her out too if he could 😭😭

(Not to say he isn’t like, calm and polite to people. He’s pretty reserved and just, like, quiet ig usually, he only really gets weird and aggressive when the Mara flares up or he needs to be for a mission. I just mean he isn’t gonna be open and available for basically anyone lol)

It’s mainly difficult to GET INTO a relationship with Blade, but if you do manage it, it turns out a lot sweeter than you’d expect

He’s just a deeply tired man. He is not malicious, he is not unnecessarily cruel. He is worn out and sick of living, of never getting the rest he so desperately craves. He finds some sort of respite in you, and so he treasures you. 

He trusts your judgement. He stands by you, no matter what. He’s loyal to a fault once you have him. The worst that could ever happen to him now is losing you. Even when he thinks you’re about to do something stupid (and he always tells you when he thinks it’s stupid), he’ll come with you. Better he’s there to take the hit for you than letting you go alone. 

Even with the smaller things, he shows it even more obviously. He cooks you dinner and lunch every day, so you don’t have to. He lets you decorate his apartment, and he never adjusts the things you place in it, even when it clashes horribly with his own style. He lets you drag him along anywhere, whether it be a concert or a park, without complaint. 

The main downsides with Blade are that he never, ever, verbally tells you that he loves you. Maybe once during your entire relationship he’ll say it, and probably when you’re on your deathbed, but he usually won’t. Even if you try to pry it out of him. 

He can be really mean in the way he says things sometimes, like telling you straight up your ideas are dumb, but it’s always softened by the way he agrees to do whatever you want anyways.

Another frustrating thing is how he cares very little for his own wellbeing. It’s a regular occurrence for him to come home with guts spilling out of his abdomen, and it’s really uncomfortable to see even if you know he can’t die. He can still feel pain, even if he’s learnt to cope with it well. It’s scary to see him so hurt so often. 

But you wouldn’t get into a relationship with him if you didn’t already know all this, hence why I rank him so high. He’s a lot better than you expected when you met him, which means you’re effectively in a better relationship than you’d have hoped 😭😭

I love him so much (my content is mostly Aventurine centric) but holy fuck man,,,

I have never and will never sugarcoat it Aventurine is TOXIC. Like GENUINELY. I wouldn’t say abusive but he can be really cruel. He gets lost in his own head and takes it out on you in ways he doesn’t really mean to. Aventurine is not a good person. 

He’s fucked up in all sorts of ways and it’s no surprise it could easily destroy any relationship

Trust issues ? Jealousy issues ? Commitment issues ? Attachment issues ? Insecurity issues ? Mommy, daddy AND sister issues ? Every kind of possible issue you can probably imagine ? Yes on all fronts, bro’s the full issue package 💀

It would take a very special kind of person to endure in a relationship with him (I would not be able to do it if he was real I’ll be so honest)😭

When things are good, they’re really good. He can be so fun and playful and sweet and he loves to spoil you and everything that belongs to him belongs to you. He loves you more than the air he breathes and he’d do anything to make you happy

The issue is, most of the time, things are not in fact good. 

I keep mentioning it but his relationships are always such a push and pull. A game of hot and cold. One second he clings to you and begs you to never leave him, and the next he won’t respond to your calls or messages. 

Even worse, sometimes he’ll be outright mean in order to push you away, insinuating you’re “holding him down” and that you’re “wasting his time”. You’ll find yourself questioning if he actually does love you, because what sort of person does this to someone they love?

(It keeps him up at night when he treats you badly. He hates doing it, but he needs you to hate him as much as he hates himself.)

Usually he’s a really smart guy. Even when he does stupid things (things like making a purposeless high-risk gamble, playing Russian roulette), he’s fully aware of what he’s doing. (He does it because he kind of hopes he’ll actually die this time.) But with you, he loses all his composure and can’t really think straight. 

He feels safe with you, and that scares him. He’s a danger to your safety, and it’s better to push you away, make you hate him, than it is to let himself be happy with you. His life is beyond saving, so all he can do to you if you stay is drag you into his mess. He can’t fix himself, not even for your sake. 

He lies to you, he neglects you (sometimes for weeks at a time), he builds up new walls between you constantly, but at the same time he gets insecure and jealous when you hang out with others. Only when you threaten to leave him does he finally start getting his act together, because he realises that now that he’s had you, he couldn’t bear to live without you (even if he knows that’s very selfish of him). 

He gets better with time, but I really, really doubt he’ll ever be fully healed. It doesn’t help that his job wouldn’t really allow it, and he can’t leave the IPC through any other means than death. 

I originally ranked him as a 3/10 (diabolically low rating I know 💀💀) but I bumped him up one because he will get better. If you stick around long enough, he’d probably make it to a 7/10, but since that would take like over 4 years of being in a relationship with him I felt it would be unfair to rank him much higher 😭😭 At the start he really fucking sucks dude I’m so sorry my condolences

Lol I’m back here yapping but it’s not my fault so many people are suddenly talking about how shitty endgame and Steve’s ending was 😭 one thing I’ve noticed when it comes to Steggy is people are legit writing a fanfic about them and treat it as canon. Saw someone say Peggy fought with them every day on the field. Peggy was an agent, not a soldier? Not once in any of the cap trilogy do we see her anywhere near the battlefield? I know the Carter show tried to do some heavy lifting there but a) literally nobody saw that and b) are any of the older shows even canon? And id we go by Carter show, doesn’t it show how she moved on from Steve and literally wasn’t simping for him for 70 years?? People claim Peggy always loved him and fought by his side, but the whole steggy romance is literally all tell, no show. We DONT see them in love, we see what could be considered a war fling. We don’t see them connect deeply, we don’t see Steve have an understanding with her, we don’t even see Peggy going crazy for him. But suddenly it was this grandiose romance that’s worth risking the universe for. I think that’s my main issue with it bc we literally see them have like five convos, one assault and one awkward kiss yet I’m meant to believe they were soulmates? If marvel wanted me to believe that, they should have written that! If marvel wanted me to believe they saw each other all the time on the battlefield, they should have shown that or told us in the actual movies! Peggy’s legit watching the war reels along with everyone else! She was an agent, probably a code breaker, helped with training and briefings, she did not fight and plan, that was all the commandos. Surely they could have done that if they wanted to? And now ppl claim Peggy never moved on bc she had Steve’s pic on her desk (mind you shield was founded in his name and she’s a co-founder, why wouldn’t she have a pic of the man who sacrificed himself for them) and she always waited for Steve? No. Pegg literally told him she lived her life happily, and he should too. I know the gen public just does not understand Steve and that’s why they fell for this lazy nostalgia bait that is Steve’s ending, but now they’re literally ignoring the cap trilogy and making up their own stories based on endgame (which is full of nonsensical time travel and it’s never explained how Steve didn’t fuck up timelines. And no, he was not the husband the whole time, it was not the plan all along, if that were the case Steve would not be told to move on and live in the future by Peggy, Peggy would not fall in love on agent Carter and Steve WOULD NOT MAKE OUR WITH HIS NIECE OMG

It drives me nuts that the general public considers endgame to be this epic, near perfect movie when it is ANYTHING but, so I'm just happy more and more people are apparently starting to see that, especially when it comes to the travesty that was Steve's ending. It's not going to undo the damage, but it does mean there are still people out theee who love and understand Steve, and that's heartening. If means something ❤️

Help srry im so late answering this 😭😭 i always have loads of headcanons when im thinking of scenarios but when it comes to just listing them my mjnd goes blank help 💔 this probably arent uncommon idk but here we go 🗣🗣

Okay so like among all the victims I feel like the one Es would get along w the most is Rei. Like idk from what we've seen from her so far she seems to be v much no nonsense (esp in relation to Muu) so i think they'd have common ground w that. Like if they were to have an emoji or emoticon thing for annoyance their ones would be identical.

Es is rlly good at maths bc the answers are definite and unchanging. They lament over all the decisions they make within the prison wondering if it rlly was the correct solutions, so its nice for them to know that at least in this instance, if they follow all the steps correctly their judgement will always be right. (And nobody gets hurt or dies bc its just numbers ona page 😆😆🥳🥳) So when they get forced to take a break instead of being normal they whip out a 600 page book full of questions and solutions (Back in t1 amane used to join them but now they just go solo)

They're also super good at literature studies too like trust they will explain to u why the curtain is blue 🗣🗣 Their job is to literally deduce a crime and its reasonings w limited info so they kinda have to be good at reading in between the lines and stuff. In opposition to this, not that their necessarily *bad* at them, but I feel like they wouldn't rlly give themself a chance w the arts/creative things when it comes to being involved. In alot of those things, peoples creations often come from their experiences and feelings that are personal. And Es is v much like "Well idc about that bc my personality is being a warden and i have a prison to run 😒😒" In reality though, I feel like their avoidment of it lies with the fact it makes them reflect on the fact that really don't have anything else to cling onto for their identity except for Milgram which would just queue a mental break down.

I also hc that they unconsciously mimic alot of the prisoners traits. Like biting their nails or standing in certain ways or whatever. Back in t1 they copied Kotko the msot bc shes like like strong and intimidating, a good way to get pp to respect u bc they'll be too threatened to mess w u. Es doesnt want to be protected by her and instead wants to hold these traits themself so the prisoners stop belittling them (and for John to possibly not beat them up again 💔) They only realised they were being w copycat when they started scratching their non existent beard in thought like Kazui and had to take a minute 😪

Also ik their first response whenever they get pissed off by the prisoners is anger and retaliation, but I feel afterwards, whether it be a few hours or days (They suck at processing their emotions) they do feel a little unsettled by the fact they're surrounded by a bunch of ppl who hate them and want them dead. Actual prison wardens are trained for this stuff and are grown, but Es is literally 15 where people are supposed to be feeling threatened by someone stealing their spot on the basketball team or some shit not bc they wanna kill u 😭😭

They akso cant sleep at night cuz the minute they close their eyes, they see and hearnthe scenes from the victims murders but their brain is making it like 10x more violent than how it was presented in the vds 😛

Then uh finak one if Es played roblox they'd deffo be one of those mfs who took "Work at a Pizza Place" and the salon games way too seriously and act like their clocked in for a real shift depsite not getting paid a single cent. You where walking into the big gates of UA, after you finished the entrance exam you where lucky enough to have racked up a whole bunch of villain points! After a while you finally received a letter from UA stating that you got in to the hero course! The first day of school rolls around, You finally got your uniform on and was heading out the door. After a high walk and a bus ride you finally got to UA, where only the top get to be. If you remembered correctly, it stated that you where in class 1A, so you found your way there. You opened the large door, only to reveal a boy with green hair standing frozen in the doorway, a blond boy with his feet up on the desk, a boy with blue hair yelling at him, and the rest of the students watching. “Oh, now this won’t do!” You say as soon as you step in, “Why don’t you settle down now?” You asked the blue haired boy. “I will not! This kid is blatantly disrespecting UA by putting his feet up on the desk! We are in the top school of Japan! Show some respect!” The blue haired boy yelled out. “Now, now, no need to get all feisty with me,” You said as you grabbed him by his waist and twirled him around and pushed him onto a seat, “No need for all this wacky nonsense.” You say to the blue haired boy with an eerily smile. Everyone just stayed quiet, not saying a word as they stated at what was going on in their classroom. You heard the bell ring and the boy who was at the doorway finally sat down along with some other students, the day was ready to commence!

I fear we would be here forever but I will Try to keep it simple. It is a ship between two characters from Inanimate Insanity. They have a history together and it’s very complicated, their relationship is so confusing but I think now it’s at a point where it’s only going Up (within canon, cause outside of that I still think they would have..issues to work out)which is totally tubular! Ummm. Idk they’re not even obscure characters at all but nobody really cares about them or talks about them on a deeper level or. Analyzes them at all. Which is crazy because they are arguably the most interesting characters in the show To Me.

Apple is clingy, insecure, non observant/ignorant when it comes to social cues (though she’s getting better), but she’s also passionate about things and others, she’s a good problem solver, determined and motivated, and very strange in her own little ways.

Marshmallow is almost self absorbed (to a point, I’d go into detail but I’d be here even longer😁), snarky, no nonsense, and says exactly what she’s thinking. However she holds a lot of guilt for things she’s done, she cares deeply about those closest to her, and she’s loyal and trustworthy AND fair+forgiving.

I could go on about the both of them individually but like I said. Yeah. I think that their dynamic reeeallly shows in season 2 and it’s Good. I like it a lot. I like how their traits kind of clash a little bit you know… But they both feel a connection to one another despite all the adversity. I think this is especially crazy when after marshmallow finds out the truth (I’m not explaining all that if you’ve watched the show you know)Bow mentions staying in the mansion with her and dough but marshmallow wants to See Apple. And wants her to JOIN THEM IN THE MANSION. She is crazy? “Clingy sure, but I thought it was because she cared a lot.. about me..” <- About Apple BY THE WAY!?? Idk this is insane behaviour to me. It’s also made a point by the other characters in the show that she’s all she talks about, negatively or not😭😭😭😭okay Im getting off track

Apple…. Apple is actually very unwell to me. After she finds out marshmallow was only trying to preserve her feelings and didn’t mean to hurt her, realizing that she was the first person to show her some kindness, She becomes attached. Fairly Fresh off of being isolated on idiotic island too. The second she’s in danger she’s freaking the fuck out like they’ve been friends for ages dude. She’s a little bad at recognizing how she’s feeling about bow but you can tell that when anyone else comes into play, she is Jealous! But she learns to overcome that Eerrr yeah and yeah and thennn I can’t say anymore I’m going to have an entire essay if I keep going I GOTTA STOP HOLY SHIT!

😭Waaaaaah I wanted to draw St. George-in-Erik firing guns with magic but I just CAN'T yet! I mean, non-zero chance I'll screw up my first couple illustrations when I can draw again, so I probably shouldn't draw that one first anyway, but I wanna see it. Damn.

IRL, I'm not fond of violence as a solution, but as a writer I appreciate the expedience. BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG-BANG! Okay, and now we have a whole bunch of NEW problems. I suppose that's not really a solution at all, but it's still gonna look cool when you imagine it. That's how come they say it's not possible to make an anti-war movie. You script it and make it part of a narrative and put some good actors and effects in it, and it just looks cool. Can't help it, gotta roll with it.

On the other hand, while Erik certainly doesn't deserve to die for being who he is, you can see why the cops prefer to kill immies on sight. Look what they can do! But, on the third hand, look at what Maggie can do. Nobody's going to unload on her for being magical unless she does something and they see it.

Poor Maggie made a little error and punched Mordecai when she really didn't need to, but if you've been reading you may suspect who (or what) put their finger on the scale, and who helped her shrug off David's little god trick. But to tell you the truth, it's like that because I forgot how magic works when I wrote the first draft. I needed her to punch him in the face! Fortunately, their unseen observer needed her to punch him too. We'll get to that when they get home again.

I was surprised by how little time it took to actually kill everyone. (Ha-ha, there's another one of those things I can only say because I'm a writer.) I was worried it needed to be more epic. The spouse advised me that that's just how it is when only one guy has a working gun in a street fight. It's over. People are dead and that's forever. On to the next thing. Bleh. I don't like the idea of it, but it rings true enough.

John is... not doing well, is he? I'd been planning this scene for years but that caught me off guard. I didn't realize what the situation would look like to him until I got him back inside and George handed him a gun. Well, let's see, Erik's family are right there to help him and he knows that, and he's holding an object that will get him out of the way so Erik can go home. Uh, yeah, why wouldn't he? (Currently writing the next 6 and I've almost got him out of Prokovia, and the plot, for the time being. Jenny will put him back together and Rob will forgive him, but Billie might not...)

Next instalment goes up on Erik's birthday, and mine! It's not birthday-themed or anything, but after all this nonsense his family do finally have enough information to get him home. They just have to put it together!

Hundred Line progress update: hit story lock 1 (route unknown ???)

in terms of the choices I made: on my own playthrough I have only done the Killing Game (and have seen the Slasher route also) so far and I wanted to try to alternate between killing/sparing Eito routes so I went back to the first decision. Currently I have:

Spared Eito / Kept The Secret / Did Not Kiss Hiruko

… and got promptly kicked out of the route after the persuasion. I was so excited to get to a Hiruko-focused route that I forgot that this game would have had story locks 😭

For what it’s worth I am glad we get at least one (1) bit of direct information out of her before we get locked out—the confirmation that this is a time loop, not just a time travel. Like… I had vaguely assumed so but the confirmation is nice. It’s also interesting because? We’ve seen that they can move forwards/backwards (via Takumi’s Special Retry) and also jump laterally between timelines via the weird lab machine (I assume)—if you combine the two techniques you can basically go anywhere (time wise), but they’re still stuck within that span of 100 days. I’m very excited to get a more detailed explanation later, whenever I get to the required endings (I’ll let myself stumble through it naturally, even though from some of the spoilers that I know I have a strong guess as to what route I’ll need to progress. it is a little funny that I need to hit story lock 3 to unlock story lock 1? Love wacky timeline nonsense)

As for Eito’s escape. If he got someone to close off all of the drains in the garden and kept the water running my guess is that he made it flood? As for how that lets him escape, hmm. I am struggling to piece together how the balloon comes into play but I’m guessing there still something with temperature involved? It’s not something that he can really control while outdoors but air temperature is relevant to fluid flow so 🤔 my other ridiculous guess is that he used the balloon to create a key by filling it with water but that seems unlikely to work. oh well I’ll come back to this whenever I return to this route. He’s clearly scheming something though and I will laugh if he does somehow manage to get everyone to turn on Takumi later on this branch LMAO

For now… I’m probably going to go back to the decision about telling everyone about being a time traveler. Mainly because I was losing my mind at how poorly Takumi was doing at keeping his secret an actual secret 😭 (and also partially because I think choosing to kiss Hiruko results in the start of the romance route based on stuff I’ve seen? Which I will see eventually but I want to explore some more other stuff first)

Other quick thoughts:

Love that persuasions continue to always be at least somewhat sketchy… I’ve only seen the ones in Route 0 and the Takemaru one in the KG route and I am a little curious if every character will end up with one at some point now. Lying to Hiruko about having memories of another timeline is honestly pretty cruel considering what I can currently extrapolate about her feelings

I see why KG Hiruko did not want to let anyone else know about the Leap Machine room despite there being more suits there. It really would have just complicated everything and just caused more problems, even if she did have to die to keep it a secret. But this is also an explanation as to how Sponsor Eito was able to run around in the KG route at all? And since I now know a little bit more I kind of want to go back and see that one scene where Takumi gets randomly drugged again?? Because he ended up with random memory issues and they never touched on that afterwards… of course that could be related to the slasher route stuff but I can come back to this whenever I actually do that route myself

I missed using Kurara in battle honestly I’m glad to have her back alive 😭 most of the other characters have at least one other character that share part of their niche but nobody else has the defensive capabilities she does… her special skill is just far too useful and I always forget items exist

Well, glad you’re fine with my wordiness! (is it good Tumblr etiquette to just keep responding to reblogs?) Chris is my favorite! (Josh is my second).

Anyway, I agree with a lot of things here. I think Chris is fine in the basement scene. Sure, I’d always like more, but this isn’t too weird. He takes a backseat to some of the other stuff going on and is more passive— but it makes sense. He’s still processing and is very unmoored. In fact, I don’t think he should just move on from seeing someone die and losing his best friend. And I like that Sam can potentially come up to him to talk about it (If Emily is dead, iirc?). It’s also interesting that Emily’s meter doesn’t go down with him after the truth of the bite is discovered. My sense of it is that she kind of understands him because he’s the other one who has actually faced Hannah and nearly died. He’s not insistent that he’s right like Ashley is and isn’t violent like Mike is, but he ultimately doesn’t want her there either.

Nah! It’s totally fine for people to disagree with me! And thank you for taking my thoughts seriously and giving an articulate counterpoint! I do think it’s very natural to have sole-survivor Sam, actually! (Due to, as you said, the final girl trope) My point was more on the common attitude that Chris definitely is going to die, and the implication that he’s somehow more built to die than everyone else or something (Btw, not that you were saying he was fodder or something, I was just considering this attitude among the fanbase). And I massively disagree with the fact he has more of a story reason to die than Emily, Ashley, Matt, or Jess. He also doesn’t show himself to be as weak as his trope makes him come across. It’s interesting that Emily and Chris get the two most memorable chases. It’s a lot of bravery and skill from Chris who is expected to be a nerdy pushover, and a lot of strategy and endurance from Emily who might be expected to be shallow and delicate.

Anyway, I think he has a striking baked-in logic to his possible survival that has to do with karmic storytelling. And I think that’s just as strong or stronger a reason to keep him around as anything we have for the others. Nobody impacts the story much at the end besides Mike, Sam, and Josh (who obviously doesn’t make it off the mountain). In fact, I think the most useless incorporation of a character is probably Emily in the tunnel sequence. She has truly no plot there. Ashley and Chris aren’t necessary, but there’s a story aspect around their being in the tunnels. I think this *might* have to do with the way the PS3 version had Ash and Chris go with Sam here and Emily go with Mike. There was an original concept about what Ashley and Chris were doing. But giving Mike Wolfie and just moving Emily kind of left her in limbo. But I digress.

I don’t think all Chris’s deaths are bad writing either, like I don’t think him dying (beyond the door death) would be nonsensical. The ones where he just gets killed by missing a shot leave me empty 🥲, but they don’t feel against the plot. The one where he finds Ashley’s hat is actually fairly compelling despite how rare it is. If the writers told me they must to kill Chris, but I could pick the death, it would be that one.

I truly want him to live though, because I do like him a lot and think he has some of the more lovable goals beyond survival. Besides, I am just sad for him going through a pretty pointed amount suffering due to something he ultimately didn’t have any hand in starting. Yes, he can do things wrong for sure and can become impatient and kind of bitter, but idk… just him being passed out during the prank then getting the overwhelming brunt of the psycho tortures AND THEN death is— sad! 😭😂 It’s so much for just Chris.

And agreed! I’d be so miffed if they made him part of the prank. I have an analysis of a director statement on why Chris wasn’t included in it, and it’s all very interesting. I get why the director wanted him unincluded— to the point where they redid parts of the game.

What upsets me about the Until Dawn movie that’s coming out is the way they will kill off Chris. I am 200% sure he is going to die, and that upsets me enough given that he’s one of my favourites, but what upsets me more is that I know for a fact it’ll be the death caused by Ashley. It’s a dramatic death and is great for a movie, but it makes no sense for his character. He is literally described as “protective”, meaning there’s no way his character would shoot Ashley, but the movie will make him do it for the sake of drama :/
