You dont seem to understand. The Rat Baby was human though, it cries like a human infant, we find it in a human crib, it has human infant mannerisms and has human skin, it toddles and learns to say "Sam" as its first word, but we other them and call them a rat because there is a disgust there, the rat child is different and it repulses us, for as much as we adore it, its disgusting to us.

I think Rats condition is a metaphor for being visibly different, disabled perhaps, and so we dehuminize it for a condition out of its control- we use "it" for the rat, we refuse to gender it, kind of how we take away that personification from disabled children or intersex children.

The rat child is a human orphan, and were abusing it.

Rat Child is a human child, but its othered for its defects and we decided it is inhuman, despite its showcasing of humanity.

i love the idea of relativity falls stanley getting his memory wiped too.

because like… ford wants to stay in gravity falls & stanley will be Fine if he goes back to new jersey on his own right? hes always fine. but stan freaks out bc ford is going to Leave him and make him go back to his (abusive, verbally and maybe physically) father on his own .

so there’s a huge argument where ford essentially gets mad that stan won’t let him stay easy…. the rift breaks.. instead of them dealing with their issues via ‘everything is perfect’ bubble like the mystery twins did in canon (and maybe could still in relativity falls if they have issues), ford gets to essentially wipe everything out of his brother that makes him Him & then think about how he wanted to leave him behind

of course they could have the bubble as well but its kinda more fun to have them in the midst of an argument when it happens- sort of like how ford only started being actually civil to stan in canon post-weirdmaggedeon

a lot for a little 12 year old to deal with . its just such a fun idea

pardon. i rambled a bit.

i literally only kept stan's memory being wiped because i didn't think that was a very mabel and dipper thing to do, regardless of circumstance because their whole thing is how they go through things TOGETHER so i didn't think that was something that would've happened!!! and also the way im considering handling bill (loosely. bill is not an easy character in this au lol) is similar to og gravity falls in that he pulls ford into isolation, it's just done for Different Reasons (don't ask. head in hands. bill is Complicated And Hard To Manage. i haven't even given much thought to dipper and the portal's relationship yet)

but that way, the stan twins keep their conflict of isolation and separateness while the mystery twins keep their conflict of togetherness (mabel pushing dipper in was an accident, and she worked around the clock to bring him back. it wasn't a bad reunion like the stan twins)

anyways. my god i didn't even consider the mystery twins leaving conflict becoming the stan twins leaving conflict and how well that goes.....that's so owie...like it goes so well too cause it still makes ford confront his isolation and how little he knows about stan but obviously on a much smaller scale this time (he probably didn't accompany stan on as many adventures near the end of the summer due to bill trying to keep him isolated)

A companion's pov on timeloop au Sam is low-key so funny to think about.

"Oh okay. This guy is pretty friendly and he's letting me stay that's cool- okay this guy is... Very friendly. That's. Fine. Um. Why does he know that about me? Is he actually a stalker? Actually why does he know this much about everyone? Uh. Did. Did he somehow stalk all of us? Wait. Maybe he looked outside and it gave him telepathy powers or something?? I should ask him if he looked outside. Okay yeah no that was the most suspicious way to say no ever. He definitely looked outside. Guess... Guess I'm just gonna pray it's the telepathy thing?? Umh."

ADJKSAKJDKS given the prevalence of stalkers in this damn game i wouldn't be surprised if somebody jsut came to that conclusion😭😭😭

i think if sybil was my neighbor and she was like "it's beautiful....." i probably would not. i would be too put off by that and would recognize it as Bad. however. if i didn't have a neighbor to warn me. i would probably be like "oh i can sneak a quick peek nothing bad will happen if i just take a quick glance" and then i immediately get turned into a meat pulp

As Sam continues trying again and again he gets less careful about what he says so he just ends up saying stuff like:

"I know you don't remember me. But I remember you..."

This is also because he's low-key going insane. Just low-key tho.

Sam just. Slowly gets more unsettling. It's very slow, but it happens. Just. He keeps being kinda weird around people he's "never met" (in their pov at least)

crazy how like sam's fucked up cursedness is entirely his own doing in this au. i love him so much<3

Ok so first like. This is basically a time loop au but still different. Very clear I know./silly

So——

Ya know how Frederic looked outside and painted the sky a few days before the visitor was fully in action and it made his paintings come to life after that?

It's something similar that happened but with Sam instead.

Sam didn't mutate physically, but he can control time lightly. Kinda like how Leigh could stretch the hallway when she was the grinning beast. Reality distortion or whatever it's called.

Sam can go back up to the first day the visitor was fully in action, and later on in the au can also go back to anytime he talked to Sybil (basically the saves put into an in game explanation...)

At first Sam doesn't know about this whole thing and goes through the first week of the game normally, meets Leigh and Joel and some others. And then during a fight one of them ends up dying.

After like an hour, Sam is now in a place where he can properly panic, and does. This is the first time he goes back in time to the first day, completely accidentally.

He has no idea what happened, is extremely confused, and almost cries when he sees the one who'd died last run but tried to hold it in because he noticed no one else seems to remember anything. Even thinks maybe it was just a really really weird dream.

Eventually more resets happen, and he realizes that. Oh yeah no this is fully real. Oh. Wow.

He goes through first the no going back ending, fumbles to try something different by going back in time again. He goes through a few endings.

Every time something happens to his companions he goes back, to try again. To get them safe.

At some point he starts grieving previous versions of them. Previous dynamics he had with them. Moments he had with them in a previous 'try'.

The companions just see him as a kinda odd weirdly emotional guy that seems to have gotten attached to them very quickly for some reason?? (As a generalization for their view. Of course it differs person to person)

Sam really really tries his best to make everything perfect. Make sure they have a good ending. He doesn't care of his fate as long as they have a good ending.

Yeah man idk. I'm just spouting stuff.

OHHHHHHH THATS SO GOOOD WOUYGGHHG. pardon my angst, she's all i know. BUT like im also imagining reflections in the mirror where he feels guilty for getting his friends killed over and over again. or like when he starts getting perfectionist about the timeline, trying to make it as good as possible for his friends he gets reckless with himself, more so than in previous attempts. puhhhhh there is so much to play with here

Sam is like. A creature to me. Not in the "he looked outside" way but in basically everything else.

He's unemployed and never goes outside. He was on the verge of getting evicted. He seemingly had no qualms of killing people except for the tooth family. He sacrifices his arm for a baby he met five minutes ago and survives. He invites like 13 people he's never seen before to live in his apartment. He's a gamer. He has like 5 stalkers at least. He has partial heterochromia. He looks consistently like a kicked puppy. He's probably undiagnosed of multiple things. He keeps surviving things he shouldn't be able to. He spirals easily.

Truly the guy ever.
