In general, twitter cares more about looking good than being right, and because they value the AESTHETIC more than the reality, there is absolutely no amount of times that a creator can turn directly to the camera and say "I don't care about shipping and fanfiction is fine" and have it get through to them. Because saying they're uncomfortable with it and then harassing people who ship gives the AESTHETIC of a "pure" fandom fighting to "protect" their creators. And selling that look and feeling to yourself can honestly feel really good.
phannie twitter: stop shipping dan and phil it makes them uncomfortable stop saying they kiss on the mouth :(

Careless Indulgence (NSFW)
MINORS DNI
a/n: Rejoice! Narilamb be upon ye! This time it's actually the smut i mentioned.
Summary: The first time a dream like this comes, he ignores it, shoves it to the back of his mind and does his chores like normal, insults the Lamb like normal, in fact, he barely thinks about them at all.
Gods donāt dream.
But Narinder isnāt a god anymore, so his subconscious is free to generate any ethereal scenario it desires to fill the hours of nothingness that is sleep.
This one, though, is most unusual.
Heās in the temple, a sermon just ended and The Lamb is stepping down from the lectern with a spring on their step and a smile, and walking over to him. āFor someone who claims to hate hearing me talk, you pay a lot of attention to my sermons.ā They giggle, hands coming up to rest on his shoulders.
It was true, he paid attention to every sermon, and devotion poured out of him, unwillingly so, but it still did. āDo not flatter yourself,ā He said, āYou made attendance mandatory, unless stated otherwise, Iām forced to be hereā¦ā And the Lamb giggles again, now hugging him by the shoulders. His hands slithered under their fleece and settled on their hips.
Thatās how he knew he was dreaming; if it was real, he would never allow himself to do such a thing. In his dreams, he relishes the feeling of the soft wool beneath his paw. āHm? You want my permission to skip the sermons? If itās what you want I can give you.ā They rest their head on his shoulder, one of their hands caresses his face oh-so sweetly.
Narinder rolls his eyes. āYouād just find another way to pester me.ā
Their breath is hot against his neck, Oh I hate them, Narinder thinks, and holds their face softly before pressing their mouths together. The dream melts together along with the hot feeling in his body.
Heās in the altar, Lamb laid on the lectern, moaning his name like a prayer.
Theyāre in the forest, Heās laid on the grass , the Lamb, riding him with eyes rolled back and mouth hanging open with gasps.
Theyāre in the main grounds, a bonfire is lit and the Lambās mouth is closed around him and he pants, clawing at the wool on his head.
The first time a dream like this comes, he ignores it, shoves it to the back of his mind and does his chores like normal, insults the Lamb like normal, in fact, he barely thinks about them at all.
The second one is admittedly unexpected, but he still manages to deal with his hard-on and move on with his day.
After almost a week having dreams like those, he canāt take it anymore.
By now, every place in the cult grounds has been lewd up by his mind, and every mildly suggestive thing the Lamb says or does has already featured in a degenerated scenario in his dreams; The temple, the farm, the forest, behind the temple, the kitchens, both of their shelters, against the statue the Lamb had erected in his likeness ā a personal favorite of hisā, against the Lambās own statue, during rituals, in the table after a feastā¦
At some point, Narinder is sure the Lamb doesnāt even need to read his thoughts to see the debauchery of his late-night fantasies, because of that heās been avoiding the Lamb like they were a plague.
But they still manage to find him, like a little predator stalking prey.Ā
They corner him after two messily days of avoidance, pulling him back after the sermon and promptly closing the temple doors. āNari, I thought we were past this stage already.ā They say, their voice echoes.
āYou thought wrong, Lamb, as you often do.ā Itās no use lying, so he chooses to dodge the question entirely.
His usurper, though, doesn't plan on letting him escape that easily; they march towards him with drive, and Narinder tries to pretend he remained unaffected by leaning back against the column behind him. āYou're hiding something, I can see it, Nari.ā They say, hands on their hips and head tilting, making the bell around their neck jingle softly.
Narinder wonders if it would jingle when he shoves the usurper onto their back andā.
āThere!ā The lamb exclaims suddenly. āYou stopped your own train of thought! What was that? Are you thinking about murdering me again? Are you dissenting? You don't look like you're dissenting!ā They ramble endlessly.
Oh, to hell with it! Narinder thinks. They will just read my mind anyways. And before the Lamb can predict his next action, Narinder pounces.
He takes them by the face, with both hands, and smacks their lips together. The lamb lets out a surprised gasp, then promptly melts in his hands, so he lets go of their face in favor of their hips, then reverses their positions to pin the Lamb against the column.
Heās quick to add his teeth into the mix, he bites the Lambās lips until he feels the metallic taste of blood, then he licks it, and It's all a mess from there.
The damned Lamb moans into his mouth, matching his energy and his every action. Soon, Narinder is holding them up by the thighs, their legs wrapped around him as they both bite, lick and moan against eachother's mouth.
Ā Disrobing is not easy, but they manage to do a quick job of it, and Narinder lays the Lamb on their back on top of his own discarded clothes almost tenderly, before biting into their shoulder with force only to feel their blood on his tongue and to hear the pathetic bleat they let out. āYou wanted to know what I was hiding?ā He asks, rhetorically, because he shoves a finger inside the Lamb and knows that they won't answer through their moans. āThis is it. I've been wanting to fuck you, dreaming about it.ā He shoves a second finger, moving his hand in a slow rhythm only to hear the Lamb finally gasp some air, just to moan out again.
āNarinder!ā They call in-between their moans. āWait- more, please moreā They are almost incoherent, Narinder smiles, his hand moving faster as was requested.
āIt's so much better in a godly body, isn't it? It's like divinity enhances it.ā He taunts, then kisses the already fading bite mark he had left. āLet me fuck you, my Lamb?ā He whispers sweetly. āYou wanted my crown? Fine, Iāll show you all it can do for you.ā
The Lamb nods with fervor, the bell on their neck chimes. Narinder removes his fingers from their quivering hole and holds their legs open before shoving himself into them with a slow but fluid movement.
The Lambās body greedily takes in the new sensation, their back arches off the ground and they let out a divine, long and pleasured moan.
Nothing was better than this, nothing could possibly rival the union of their bodies, no nectar or ambrosia would ever be more innebriating than the taste of each other. Their ecstasy mixes, they begin to move against each other in a heated frenzy.
Their moans fill the temple, sounding holier than the prayers, their rhythm dictated by the chime of the Lambās bell and the sound of their hips meeting with each thrust.
Lamb thinks they will become addicted to this; the mutual devotion this carnal act brings them, the feeling of being so full, the sound of Narinder's heavy breathing and raspy moans.
This is true divinity, this raw and passionate and carnal desire is so utterly mortal that it circles right back into godhood.
Both chase their highs with desperation, bodies rutting against each other.
And when they reach it, it's devastating, both gasp for air like it's their first time breathing in centuries. Their bodies finally still against each other as they come back to themselves.
Silence hangs in the air for a few moments, then the cheeky Lamb opens their mouth; āYouāve been dreaming about this?ā They tease.Ā
Narinder rolls his eyes and fights the smile that insists on crawling up to his lips; āShut up!ā They only hum in response, hugging him by the shoulders and making him lay down by their side.
āIām glad I could fulfill your desires, thenā¦ā They smile up at him and lay a soft kiss on his lips, Narinder stays silent, purring contently despite his expressionless face.
If I told yall this is the second smut I've ever written in my life, would yall believe me? Cuz I'm quite proud of it. Hope you guys like it too

Ok, lemme see if I can do this
Ahem
Cold take about one of your posts I only half read. Baseless and inaccurate assumption that says more about me than you. Hyper-specific scenario that would never happen except I think about you doing it a lot, probably sex related. Thing I think is a really good gotcha, but actually shows my ignorance. Several typos because I'm too heated and thinking too much about that scenario still.
New paragraph to show I'm switching away from a topic when I'm really not. Another baseless assumption. A person attack based on the same scenario I've convinced myself is real. Homophobic slur. Transphobic slur. Hitler quote attributed to Mark Twain. General assumption about your upbringing and parentage.
Third paragraph to show myself I'm still coherent (i'm not). More personal attacks. Claim that you're manufacturing engagement on your blog. Claim that you've had sex with animals or something. Deranged rant about another hyper specific scenario I made up about you. Call you an anime watcher. Use the word "goon" and "degenerate". Not actually snappy, snappy remark to close out the ask.
thank you for the hate mail

When it comes to AI art discourse I will always put the needs, wellbeing and actual reality of workers over hypothetical scenarios of what AI art could be. In an ideal world, AI art would be a tool for planning concepts and nothing more. But we don't live in that world. If companies can profit off of the art of their workers whilst underpaying or firing them to boost profit they will always pick that. And that's exactly what's happening.
Is there anti AI art rhetoric from the Human Artists/Anti AI art movement I disagree with? Yeah. I don't support the intellectual property arguments because corps like Disney won't sue AI bros bc they care about artist rights they do it bc they want full control of their brand and they'll weaponise that against human artists that create anything similar to that too without AI (and like they already did that). I don't hate every single technological thing ever made just bc it has the words 'AI' in it. I will never support the idea that traditional western realism > everything else. I will never support the idea of 'degenerate art'.
That being said, exploitation is exploitation. Companies taking the work of artists without consent and profiting off it whilst underpaying and/or firing those artists is wrong. This is what the main focus should be. "Oh but with these anti AI folks what if companies restrict us from accessing their work?" That's already happening . With or without AI we're stuck in this dutty capitalist society but bc AI art is now a factor it needs to be addressed. Generative AI was never just about artists it bleeds into a consent issue too regardless of industry. Generative images don't just apply to drawings it applies to all imagery including of people. Yes 'but think of the children' is weaponised as a conservative talking point but AI child porn is a problem. Taking people's imagery and voice to create false images of them is a problem. Creating false images and claiming they're real historical documents is a problem. Not being able to tell if the images you see are real is a problem.
I hate the wokewashing of AI. I hate people claiming AI art pictures of Wakandan Black couples or the Slitheen holding a pride flag is supposed to support us little people meanwhile being LGBTQIA, a POC, a woman, disabled, working class etc. already puts barriers on barriers to get into the creative industry bc no one gives a fuck about our work in the 1st place. The creative industry's already crumbling bc of COVID, cost of living and the underfunding of the arts thanks to the tories. If people with masters who've been working for years are getting dropped like hot potatoes what hope is there for the rest of us? I'm rolling my eyes at every single leftist treating AI art as a fun quirky debate meanwhile making fun of the workers they're supposed to care about. Giggling about AI art sticking it to the bourgeois uppity twitter anime artists whilst AI corps rake in millions. Every single silicon valley AI corp doesn't give a fuck about class liberation I promise you. Rich people exist in every industry. There's nothing bourgeois about selling comms bc u can't afford rent and medical bills. Furry artists aren't the bourgeoise can you lot get a fucking grip?
And I'm tired of every clapped false equivalence you lot think is smart. Comparing digital art to AI bc you generally think Ibis Paint or some shit actually makes the art for you. Comparing AI art to photography as if photographers don't pay and credit the models they work with. Comparing AI art to fanart as if fan artists claim ownership of the characters they draw and the media they're from. Comparing AI art to piracy bc u think individual artists are the same as big conglomerates. Comparing being anti ai art to white supremacist moral panics are u clapped? This is what anti-art intellectualism gets us. Art as a product for profit and nothing more. Consume consume consume who cares about the people making it and how we get that end product right?
I'm gonna start softblocking/unfollowing some of u lot and I don't care if I sound extra cus I'm so tired. You can't ethically create false images of people without consent. You can't ethically use workers' labour whilst underpaying them. I don't think any group of workers I don't like deserves to be exploited just bc they said annoying things on the internet. You lot aren't progressives you're anti SJWs with hammers and sickles.

I know a lot of people are hating on Cero but I donāt know⦠I guess throw me in the pit with the other degenerates because a guy King who will pleasure dom me into signing a marriage contract and offer me an unending life of luxury and is kinda obsessed with me umm.. fuck yeah thatās hot!
Sign me up daddy! I mean your majesty š¤
Plus it sounds like once you give him what he wants, itāll be fairly reliable youāll get what you want too.
Want a new wardrobe? Stroke the hell out of his ego! How could you even face the possibility of stepping out the door wearing what you have if you have to stand near him and his glory!?! Honestly itās too embarrassing! Surely your handsome, stylish, sexy husband can do something to help? Maybe a little trip to the surface with his credit card? You know he really should pick some of the outfits too because he has such impeccable taste š
[I think it's more so that it has become popular to shit on him. Whether he deserves it or not, all of them do, it's just that there's more negative content with him because there's been many negative interactions- Generating a certain negative feedback loop.]
See, that right there is like the best outcome of the whole scenario.
A smart Queen reader who knows exactly how to deal with types like Cero.
And the more you do this, the more Cero legitimately yearns to spoil you, the more his walls steadily come down. He may do things that read more earnestly as displays of genuine service because he believes the point has been reached where you won't point it out- That you'll make an excuse and save his pride when Cero does blatantly servile things.

Hey, I really enjoy your fleshed out backstories on Darcy's family, and I was wondering if you have any thoughts about their origin and history! (ex: I read a really interesting fic where the "first" English Darcy was some sort of knight who received the land he conquered.) Do you have any thoughts on when the Darcy family became distinguished, their ancestry, etc.? I find the Austen contemporary allusion to the real Fitzwilliam family interesting, and was wondering if you think that family's origins also tie into it? So sorry for the rambly text :)
No problem at all! Sorry it's taken me so long to get to this.
First, thanksāI'm glad the pure/nearly pure headcanons are enjoyable, too. I did write a fic sort of like that, actually, longgggg ago (a brief snippet where the English house was basically founded by a Norman knight). I can see quite a few scenarios, though, within the limits of what we know.
This is going to seem like a bit of a tangent, but the interesting thing about the Darcys to me is that the status and consequence they grant Darcy are so overshadowed by the Fitzwilliams in fandom and academiaāI think more than in P&P itself. P&P certainly emphasizes the Fitzwilliams more as characters (I do find them more interesting as a family) and the RL referentiality is much more distinct w/ the Fitzwilliams, so it's understandable, but I don't think they're the primary source of Darcy's pride and status in the novel.
In fact, several of the remarks about Darcy's status occur before anyone knows anything about the Fitzwilliams or his connection to them. This is Charlotte before the Fitzwilliam connection is revealed, for instance:
āOne cannot wonder that so very fine a young man, with family, fortune, everything in his favour, should think highly of himself.ā
I think sometimes the Darcys' position is regarded as "same as the Bennets' but with more money" (I think mainly as an overly sweeping takeaway from Elizabeth's argument with Lady Catherine), but it's noticeable that Charlotte attributes his status to both his fortune and his family's stature.
Here is Elizabeth at Netherfield (again, before anyone knows about the Fitzwilliam connection):
Elizabeth could not help observing, as she turned over some music-books that lay on the instrument, how frequently Mr Darcyās eyes were fixed on her. She hardly knew how to suppose that she could be an object of admiration to so great a man
She clearly doesn't mean greatness of character, but his status as Mr Darcy of Pemberley, and she clearly feels a sense of pretty profound social inequality here, to the point that even setting aside the insult, she can't really think he'd even look twice at her. It doesn't make her deferential(lol) or lack self-respect or self-esteemāit's more of a pragmatic sense of the disparity of their positions within their class, fundamentally determined by their fathers' families.
It's Wickham who reveals the Fitzwilliam connection, but Wickham also associates Darcy's pride with the Darcys/Pemberley:
āYes,ā replied Wickham; āhis estate there [Derbyshire] is a noble one. A clear ten thousand per annum.ā
āYes; it [pride] has often led him to be liberal and generous; to give his money freely, to display hospitality, to assist his tenants, and relieve the poor. Family pride, and filial pride, for he is very proud of what his father was, have done this. Not to appear to disgrace his family, to degenerate from the popular qualities, or lose the influence of the Pemberley House, is a powerful motive.ā
Despite Wickham going on to talk about Lady Catherine and Lady Anne, Pemberley's aristocratic scale and the late Mr Darcy's moral character and the Darcys' popularity and influence are all linked together in his account. Now, this is Wickham, so the degree to which that's true is debatable, but it certainly doesn't contradict the treatment elsewhere.
Interestingly, he also suggests that part of Lady Catherine's status comes from Darcy's and not only the other way around. Lady Catherine would likely disagree, lol, but she does have some respect for the Darcys and de Bourghs:
āThey [Darcy and Anne de Bourgh] are descended, on the maternal side, from the same noble line; and, on the fatherās, from respectable, honourable, and ancient, though untitled, families. Their fortune on both sides is splendid. They are destined for each other by the voice of every member of their respective houses; and what is to divide them?āthe upstart pretensions of a young woman without family, connections, or fortune!ā
The lack of title is certainly worth mentioning for her, but the support of the Darcys and de Bourghs matters to her, a contrast to her perception of Elizabeth's family as basically not worth mentioning. She cares about the reputation and age of the Darcy and de Bourgh families as well as the titled status of the Fitzwilliams (and earlier, she attributed Georgiana's status to both sides of her family).
I argued in one of my other posts that there's no particular reason to assume that Lady Anne's marriage to a non-peer was a love match rather than an alliance that suited Fitzwilliam interests, given what we hear about the Darcys and given Lady Catherine's marriage into a very similar family. Both sisters marrying into old money, old-influence families looks to me like the Fitzwilliams were getting something out of it and not only the other way around. And Lady Catherine's respect for the ancientry of the Darcys and de Bourghs and the importance she sees in being backed by them fits pretty well with that to me.
So. My headcanon is that the Darcys are a prominent, powerful family in their own right and the connection to the Fitzwilliams was mutually beneficial. Moreover, I think all indication is that their prominence and influence is very well-established, perhaps longer and more securely than the Fitzwilliams'. Both the Darcys and de Bourghs have French-origin names, so given how similar their backgrounds seem to be, the kind of obvious assumption would be that both originated as Anglo-Norman families.
We don't know that for sure, thoughāthey might not have been particularly significant that far back and risen to power sometime later. Mr Bennet does suggest to Mr Collins that Darcy has more to bestow than Lady Catherine does and Pemberley itself seems to be older, architecturally. Rosings is a modern house given to a certain amount of tasteless splendour and Lady Catherine's husband had the windows installed personally, while Pemberley's features seem to be mainly Elizabethan or Jacobean and are described as more elegant. We also know that Darcy's father owned multiple estates.
So it may be that the Darcys have a bit of an advantage over the de Bourghs in terms of how much influence and consequence they have and how long they've had it (though this is by no means sure). And it is intriguing that the nephew Lady Catherine earmarked for her daughter at birth was untitled Darcy rather than any of the othersāI've kind of wondered if there was something other than simple wealth that she wanted for Anne and which none of her other nephews could provide.
This is long and meandering! But anyway, my personal headcanon is that the Darcys have been established in the Pemberley area for a really long time, and were reasonably prosperous and influential in their area from early on, but in a much more local way at first. Over time, they acquired more and more land and influence and status through politics and generally very pragmatic alliances through marriage, and had become fairly wealthy and influential by Elizabeth I's time. I imagine that the Tudor-/early Stuart-era Darcys very carefully navigated the political winds of their times and came out really well, with the resources to either drastically overhaul their manor-house or simply build the Pemberley we see from the ground up.
They were even more cautious wrt the civil war but managed to get through well enough, and have basically been on the way up ever since. They're political allies of their ducal neighbors but I kind of imagine there's a long tradition of finding the Cavendishes deeply annoying and somewhat tacky. At any rate, Mr Darcy's marriage to an earl's daughter was quite satisfactory for the Darcys in general, but not unprecedented, and Lady Anne was generally considered to have married a bit better than Lady Catherine.

I generally don't like to accuse people of "sealioning" or "concern trolling" because I think it's often used as a too-glib way to dismiss any opposing perspective, but man am I tempted to reach for those words every time I see feminists lecturing fujoshi to "interrogate their biases" around their sexuality, or implying that the reason they're romantically and sexually attracted to m/m scenarios specifically must involve internalized misogyny.
Because they realize it's gauche to outright scold people for their sexuality, the lecturers will usually take a more softball approach of saying they're "just asking questions" or just trying to get people to "think about their preferences." As if most of us haven't spent years or decades doing just that.
Most non-male people who like m/m fiction have, at some point, been called weirdos and creeps and degenerates by various social factions, from garden-variety homophobes to feminists who are angry about fiction that doesn't put women in the spotlight. Most of us (particularly the older ones who've been reading/writing m/m since the '90s or early '00s) were never given the option of feeling normal. We've all written essays arguing for the validity of our existence, and it never stops other people from continually interrogating it. Even posts like the one I'm making now are old hat, because this conversation has been had so. Many. Times. And yet I keep seeing this "we just want m/m enthusiasts to acknowledge the reality that misogyny is a pervasive force in every layer of etc. etc." "We're just asking questions." "I'd just like to gently interrogate..."
It's tiresome. It's old. It's tone-deaf and condescending and disrespectful.
We're here. We're not going away. Get used to it.

How To Cope When Mental Illness Shuts Down Our Minds
"It may sound odd or impolite to suggest that most of us, when we are in the grip of mental illness, are no longer capable of thinking. Thatās not how it feels, of course. From the inside the inside, our minds have probably never felt so busy and so focused.
"From the moment we wake up in panic and self-disgust, we are ruminating, pondering, exploring catastrophic scenarios, scanning our past, attacking ourselves for things we have done and not done, questioning. We may rub our temples to cool them down and when eventually we fall asleep, we are exhausted by the marathons our thoughts have run inside us. Nevertheless, we may still want to insist (for the kindest and most redemptive of reasons) that we have not been thinking at all, that none of this hive of activity deserves the title of thinking; it is just illness.
"To be mentally ill is to be swamped by secretions of fear, self-hatred and despair that ā like surging seawater through a pumping station control desk ā knock out all our higher faculties, all our normal ability to sensibly distinguish one thing from another, to find perspective, to weigh arguments judiciously, to see the wood for the trees, to correctly assess danger, to plan realistically for the future, to determine risks and opportunities, and, most importantly, to be kind and generous to ourselves.
"None of these faculties function any longer, but ā and this is the true nastiness of the illness ā we are never and nowhere alerted to our loss. We are both very ill and very unaware. It looks as though we are continuing to think as we have always done ā with all the usual intelligence and reliability ā but that we just have a lot more to worry about.
"Nowhere along the way does our mind generously tell us that it has begun to look at reality through a distorted lens, that it has ā at some point in the day ā to all effects, stopped working. No bell goes off, no hazard lights start to flash. The mind merely insists that it is giving us all the normal readings, and that we have objectively entered hell.
"Yet the truth is that we have lost command of about a third of our minds and are pulling together our ideas from the most degenerate, traumatized, unreliable and vicious aspects of ourselves.
Itās as if a group of terrorists had donned white coats and were impersonating prestigious scientists in order to lay out a set of vicious theories and prognoses.
"Once we have been through a few cycles of distorted thinking and recovered contact with reality, we should do ourselves the kindness of accepting that ā on an intermittent basis ā we will lose command of our higher faculties and that there is nothing embarrassing in recognizing the possibility and accommodating ourselves to it very carefully. This is the nature of an illness around which we will need to take the greatest care.
"We should start to get better at detecting when illness might be drawing in on us, what the triggers for it might be. Then when it is upon us, we should do and decide nothing. We shouldnāt start to send emails, deliver judgement on our lives or plan for the future. We should ā as much as possible ā stop all mental activity and rest. We might listen to music, have a long bath, watch something untaxing on television and perhaps take a calming pill.
"We should also try to plug our brain into that of someone else, to benefit from their greater powers of reason. We should have a trusted friend or therapist whom we can call on at such moments and ask them if they might re-calibrate and regulate our thoughts with an injection of their wisdom and insight. We should willingly put them in charge of determining how things are for us: they should be allowed to tell us what we are worth, what we have done, what there is to worry about ā and we should do our best to discount the contrary, doom-laden signals that come from inside us.
"We may have grown up with the idea that so long as we are conscious, our minds will be working optimally. But mental illness teaches us a more complicated lesson: our higher faculties (those that give us access to reality) are extremely vulnerable and perilously prone to shut down under the sway of our emotional complexities ā and to do so without telling us. We should strive to become thinkers who recognize when they are no longer able to think."

Benefits of Regular Auto Maintenance: Maintaining Your Car for the Long Haul
The responsibility of maintaining an automobile falls on the shoulders of car owners. Many people do not perform routine check-ups, which in return leaves them with a pile of bills the next time around. At Rossumās Auto Repair, we are keen on preventive maintenance. Today, we are going to talk in depth about a lot of the benefits one can derive from routine auto maintenance, such as better performance, increased safety, and huge long-term savings. Knowing these benefits will let you place routine checks to stop your list at the best Houston auto repair shops regardless of how long youāve been driving.
Houston auto repair services for reliability improvement of the vehicle
Routine maintenance is crucial for keeping your car in perfect condition. Services, including tyre rotations, brake inspections, battery checks, and oil changes, make your car more reliable, minimize the chance of uncontrolled breakdowns, and help save money on repairs and even replacement. Treat every service as a preventive measure that will minimize the likelihood of potential big-scale problems. For instance, Rossumās Auto Repair provides full auto repairs in Houston that service everything to ensure that your vehicle continues operating at its peak in good working order so that you can drive safely in full assurance. Your vehicle would then be more reliable and used daily if a modest investment is made to control the wear and tear situation so that it does not degenerate into expensive repair cases.
Long-term cost saving with regular auto repair shops in Houston inspections
Regular auto maintenance does have quite a few financial benefits. In the period of its lifetime, it would save you thousands of dollars by taking care of some small issues before they transform into some bigger critical issues. Perhaps the worst possible scenario that could arise due to oil change negligence would be an engine failure. Rossum and other Houston auto repair shops suggest scheduled maintenance to keep all the vital parts in good condition and avoid any kind of sudden financial shocks. In addition, the vehicle that has maintenance tends to stay longer, so you get a better bang for your buck.
Road Safety Safety is paramount for every car owner. Road hazards may arise from poorly maintained tires, suspension, and brakes. Regular checks reduce the risk of accidents because experts can look for and mend potential safety issues. For instance, regular brake checks ensure that your vehicle can respond in emergency situations or when trying to stop suddenly. The Rossumās and other auto repair shops in Houston know their way around safety diagnostics, so you can bet your car is safe when driving whether itās for a fun road trip or traveling through heavy traffic.
Good maintenance records help maintain your resale value A well-maintained car is much more valuable at sale apart from serving you better. A potential buyer admires a vehicle with maintenance history because they think the vehicle is well taken care of and probably less prone to trouble. When the time to sell or exchange the car arrives, you get a good deal if you keep maintaining regular checks on the same reputable Houston auto repair shops. At Rossumās Auto Repair, our logs show the level of care your car has been given. Youāll certainly be able to prove commitment towards the car using our detailed service history, especially when selling it off.
Environmental benefits An automobile when in good operating condition generates less harmful emissions. Such issues as wearing out parts and poorly performing engines increase levels of pollution. Regular car maintenance reduces your carās impact on the environment while helping it clear emission tests. Lower emission and a more environmentally friendly operation are some of the features achieved from changing old filters, ensuring fuel injectors are cleaned, and inflated tires. In choosing Rossumās Houston auto repair services, youāre giving back to the environment as well, aside from your car. Our team gives much prominence to environmental-friendly procedures, thereby ensuring that every vehicle serviced complies with regulations. Fic analysis 36. Falling
Link: https://archiveofourown.org/works/51677317
Word count: 7,263
Chapters: 1
First posted: 18th November 2023Ā
Summary:Ā
Kip curled at the edge of the great bed of the Emperor of Astandalas and wondered why his stomach still lurched as though he were falling.
It was nothing physical. The surface of the bed was secure beneath him, the coverlet warm, the pillows astonishingly comfortable.
He had not known what to expect when he asked the Emperor to continue this pretence of taking him as a concubine. All he knew was that there was a danger to himself, his home, and his family if the nobility of the Empire saw him rejected by the Sun-on-Earth. And so Kip had asked, and the Emperor had agreed.
How and why this came about
The evil!household fics were mostly written out of order and bouncing off one another. We had created a collaborative timeline of events, drawing out incidents that might be interesting in this scenario.
Falling didnāt appear on that list. It was a spontaneous response to the prompt challenge on the theme of falling, shaped by the stress caused by a real-life work situation where I felt like I had little control over events.
I wrote it fairly fast, and decided to post One final gift partly so that the ground was cleared for this and to share more of the developing evil!household genre with the wider fandom.
What worked and what didnāt
The important point of this part of the story is how smothering and confusing Kipās experience is, how the expectations and machinery of the imperial household immediately begin to pressure him into becoming a person that Astandalas expects to see, and how little agency he has. At the same time I wanted to show that his Radiancy would not be able to see what was happening, would only get information from and about Kip as mediated by his ever-present household, and would be shaping Kipās reactions without really knowing what they were.
I think I achieved the first part of the premise better than the second part. This story only has Kipās point of view which makes it easy to see how disoriented he is and the terrible impact of the way the courtiers treat him. We see what amounts to a betrayal from his Radiancy and we donāt see how it looks from the perspective of the Sun-on-Earth, who also feels trapped and helpless in this situation.
What I learned from writing it
I had some trouble with the tenses in this story, since itās all told as a flashback from the end of Kipās first full day as his Radiancyās concubine. I have since avoided writing anything that has to be all cast in the pluperfect - or at least, avoided doing so for several thousand words like this!
This series in general was also the first time I wrote slow-burn kink. The various sex scenes Iād written up to this point for one reason or another were relatively direct. Here there is an element of uncertainty about whether a single blow on the buttocks is, in fact, a sex thing; Kip certainly isnāt thinking of it in those terms, even if every other person in the room is. Over the next few months in evil!household and in other stories I experimented more with different dynamics, paces, and implications for sex and sex-related scenes.
A few months ago I couldnāt even spell degenerate pornographer and now Iā¦

Preventing Injury Before It Starts: The Untold Benefits of Dog Knee Braces

Imagine your dog, happily bounding through the park, tail wagging, enjoying the freedom of play. Suddenly, you see a slight misstep, a limp, and your heart skips a beat. You rush over, worried about an injury. Fortunately, for many dogs, this scenario can be prevented before it even happens. Enter the dog knee braceāan unsung hero in the world of canine care.
Dog knee injuries, particularly in breeds prone to conditions like luxating patellas or cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) tears, are more common than you might think. According to the American Kennel Club, CCL injuries alone affect up to 20% of dogs, with larger breeds being especially susceptible. The emotional toll of watching your dog struggle, coupled with the financial strain of treatment, can be overwhelming. But thereās good news: knee braces for dogs offer a preventive solution that many pet owners overlook.
The Unspoken Power of Prevention
When we think about knee braces for dogs, most of us imagine them as a reactive measureāsomething you use after an injury has occurred. However, using a dog knee brace as a preventive tool can save you from countless heartaches and vet bills down the road. Many dog owners donāt realize that braces can help avoid future injuries by providing stability, support, and alignment to the joints, especially in at-risk dogs.
Take, for example, large breeds like the German Shepherd or Labrador Retriever, which are known for being prone to knee issues. These dogs are not just large in size, but also in their activity level, and constant wear on the knee joints can quickly lead to degeneration or tears. By utilizing a custom dog knee brace early on, you can help reduce the chances of these injuries happening in the first place.
The Role of Dog Knee Braces in Active Lifestyles
If your dog enjoys activities like hiking, running, or agility training, knee braces could be a game-changer. Think of them like athletic wear for your dogāproviding extra support during vigorous activities. For example, dogs involved in agility sports experience high-impact movements that put tremendous stress on their knees. A dog brace not only minimizes this strain but can also enhance performance by stabilizing the knee joint and ensuring that the ligaments and tendons are less likely to overextend.
Moreover, preventative knee braces can assist in managing pain in older dogs with arthritis or joint stiffness. Studies show that chronic conditions such as arthritis can contribute to the gradual breakdown of knee joints, and a knee brace for dogs can help reduce inflammation and ease discomfort, allowing your dog to maintain mobility and enjoy life longer.
How Do Dog Knee Braces Work?
Dog knee braces work by providing external support and stabilizing the joint to prevent abnormal movement. They are designed to limit hyperextension, keep the knee in proper alignment, and reduce any undue stress on the tendons. For example, braces for luxating patella (a common condition where the kneecap dislocates) can prevent the knee from slipping out of place.
These dog braces often come with adjustable straps to ensure a snug fit, and some models even feature a padded interior to enhance comfort. But not all braces are created equalācustom dog braces are often more effective than generic, off-the-shelf options because they are tailored to the specific measurements of your dogās body. A custom fit can ensure that the brace stays in place and offers the maximum level of support without causing irritation or discomfort.
The Big Picture: Preventing Injury for a Healthier Future
Preventing knee injuries before they happen is more than just a precautionary measure; itās an investment in your dogās future. A dog knee brace helps prevent long-term damage that can result from untreated injuries. This is especially critical in breeds like Bulldogs and Chihuahuas, which are also prone to conditions like patellar luxation and ligament damage.
Moreover, the benefits of using a knee brace go beyond injury prevention. Keeping your dog active, pain-free, and mobile not only improves their quality of life but also strengthens the bond between you and your pet. By using a knee brace, you're taking a proactive step to ensure your dog remains a happy, energetic companion for years to come.
Stats to Consider
Up to 20% of dogs suffer from knee injuries, particularly affecting large and active breeds. (American Kennel Club)
Studies show that knee braces can reduce the risk of future injuries by up to 60% in at-risk dogs. (Veterinary Surgery Journal)
Dogs using knee braces after surgery have shown 35% faster recovery rates compared to those without them. (Journal of Orthopedic Surgery)
Conclusion
When it comes to your dogās health, prevention is always better than cure. A dog knee brace isnāt just a treatment for injuriesāitās a forward-thinking tool that can help your dog live an active, pain-free life. Whether you're dealing with a pup prone to joint problems or an active dog that loves outdoor adventures, a dog knee brace can make all the difference. So, the next time you think about your dogās health and well-being, consider the power of prevention. After all, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cureāand your dog deserves it.

A Visitor to a Museum by Konstantin Lopushansky (1989)
Yes I read that the director Lopushansky had worked with Tarkovsky before which did form a preconception in my head but Iām glad I didnāt pay much attention to that because even though the soul of the film was almost as honest as Tarkovskys, it was so much different from his work for sure. I read a few reviews of people where one said that the film for them defines hope and that even in the worst scenarios, something good can be brought out. One talked about the films association with religion and god.
I think for me the film in general just talks about the feeling of something absolutely opposite of hope. Sorrow or grief of realizing that the one hope you had is not real and that nothing can save the world from the reality of hell created by man itself. The āpureā donāt believe in god but rather in science. They differentiate between themselves and the ādegenerateā with a feel of superiority and shun them to the edges because of their disabilities. They use their brains to believe in science and sugarcoat the rubbles of the post apocalyptic landscape as a āheap of goodsā. The degenerates however look the world as ātrash heapā and believe in god from whom they beg to be ālet outā. On one hand the movie shows the existence of man who solely believes in science, who has created a pile of dead bodies and deranged scapes and on the other hand is the existence of man who solely believes in god but is himself disabled in some way or the other. A nameless tourist who seems to be a part of the āpureā ends up accepting the fails of science and turns to the only other option left for him, god. Once touching his perception of the solution, we see him not being able to completely gain the mercy he thought his prayers could get him and in the end we see that long shot of him stumbling on the ruins of science screaming and looking up towards his unanswering ālordā until he merges in the horizon as the sun shines like it always does without any reactions to the man.
What makes me respect this film is that we see what probably Lopushansky has the answer to his questions of 'what is life' and that is that he is still clueless but with the acceptance that god and science are at least not the answer. I think that is particularly what sets the film so far away from Tarkovsky because no matter how many hardships the subjects of Tarkovsky faces, they always land on faith and have some hope. His answer is always god. But Lopushansky has no answer. And he provides that thought, that dilemma and that disappointment in this film and in that last long shot.
Lastly, I think what sets this film further apart from Tarkovsky are the compositions in the frames. In every Tarkovsky film there will always be certain amount of shots, no matter how many, which will make you pause and savor, which might make you gasp or just feel tha warmth in your chest. But I think one thing I couldn't find in this film were definitely the out-of-the-world compositions and placements which would just blow my mind away and not that it's an issue but it just makes me fall in love and respect Tarkovsky's genius even more.
All in all, I absolutely loved the film. I think it was yes a bit hard to watch because the low quality of youtube but it was truly worth every second regardless.

While writing today I was thinking...so I was writing something kinky, something that I find personally quite hot and that fit with the characters and scenario.Ā But I hesitated because...well I imagined people objecting to it on the grounds that it would be a Bad Idea to do In Real Life.Ā
And specifically, it reminds me of specific criticism Iāve heard leveled at the 50 Shades books.Ā Ā And like, first of all Iām not here to defends 50 Shades, for one thing it would be really hard to do since Iāve never read them or seen any of the movies.Ā But also Iāve always thought some of the criticism they receive is unnecessarily harsh.Ā (Not all of it.Ā Just some.)
Because to me, a lot of people seem to really be unable to approach a work of fiction, and IN PARTICULAR a work about sex without pretending it is 100% Real.Ā And they direct their criticism accordingly: can you imagine doing this in real life, omg you would be arrested omg perverts omg sex crime omg dirtybadwrong.Ā Ā
And like people never seem to stop and consider that...fiction is fantasy.Ā A safe exploration of ideas that are either unfeasible or impractical to enact in the real world.Ā I donāt care if your fantasy is being a pirate on the high seas or getting railed behind a supermarket, they are both impractical and full of moral, ethical and legal problems.Ā
But people act like, yanno exploring one of these things in fantasy is fine and the other is a sign that youāre a Secret Degenerate.Ā That you Donāt Understand That This Would Be Wrong.Ā
But like, I was brought face to face with this today, writing something that Iām very aware is at the least Extremely Morally Dubious in a real world context.Ā But writing it anyway because itās hot to me and what the fuck is smutty fanfic for if NOT exploring these things safely.
And I just feel like so much of Media Criticism these days, especially of the tiktok/youtube variety, though I enjoy snarking at shitty things as much as the next person, but so much of it is pearl-clutching about fiction being unrealistic.Ā That if this Fictional Scenario Was Real it would be bad and unhealthy and dangerous and like, itās always about the romance tho, isnāt it.Ā Itās rarely about how actually youād get gangrene from that wound without antibiotics or whatever.Ā
And Iām really tired of this idea that Fiction for Women is bad because the audience is Too Stupid to tell the difference between fiction and reality. Ā And sometimes itās about YA, and the argument is theyāre too young.Ā Okay, fine.Ā But like, again, are you focusing on the bad advice about surviving in a wilderness or or you focusing on the unrealistic romances?
So yeah, I donāt know.Ā I think itās important to acknowledge that fiction sometimes appeals exactly for the fact that it doesnāt follow the same rules as the real world.Ā That people can have something in fiction they wouldnāt want in the real world.Ā That, in fact, fiction is the appropriate place for that to happen.Ā
I donāt know, this isnāt coherent.Ā But Iām so tired of this argument that I see about oh people are too stupid to tell the difference between Art and Escapism and itās all the fault of fanfiction and Dumb Media and like I think actually most people can tell the difference between indulgent media and stuff thatās supposed to be gritty realism but itās armchair critics who equate everything to the same level of Depiction is Endorsement.Ā And unfortunately this has been the dominate form of internet media criticism for long enough that itās all an entire generation has been exposed to.Ā
And as someone who writes indulgent smut on the regular and also has a degree in literature and psychology, like actually Iām not at all confused about the line between fiction and reality thanks.Ā
#idek#purity culture#writing#if you're curious specifically this was about kink in public#something that imo crosses the long into Not Actually Okay in real life#but also I'm not super worried cause no one is reading vegaspete fics unless they are way on board the Fun in Fiction but Not RL train#like I'm kinky in RL#I've Done Some Shit okay#but yanno#ANYWAY#then I saw a post that like set this off#and specifically about 50 shades like#some criticism is hella valid and some is like eww kink I think is gross
