The Biggest Disappointment

Pip came charging down the hall this morning singing and cheering. I was happy to see that he wasn't geared up for the massive screaming tantrum before school yesterday morning.

Pip: Mommy! Mommy! It's the best day ever! It's EASTER!!

Me (whispering): Ohhhh hey! Good morning! I'm so glad you are happy. Remember Dayday is asleep so let's remember to use whisper voices.

Pip, using the world's loudest stage whisper: Okay. I promise I will hunt for eggs very quietly. Where's my basket.

Me: Oh, baby. I'm so sorry. It's not Easter. There are no eggs to find right now. And we need to get ready for school.
