Summary:

One cold, winter's night, Steve Rogers, retired Special Forces operative, finds an unconscious young man in the woods surrounding his property. In the morning, the stranger wakes up and Steve is left with plenty of questions about the beautiful young man with guileless eyes and a sheepish smile, who speaks with self-deprecating humor as though there isn't a bruise on his face and restraint marks on his wrist.

🥰 We Solve Murders (We Solve Murders #1) (Richard Osman, author; Nicola Walker, narrator) - I just really enjoy the characters Osman creates & the slighly madcap adventures they go on whilst trying to solve the puzzle. This one really reminded me (positively) of a Carl Hiaasen novel; it's that sort of vibe (except not so Floridian).

🥰 Coming Up Easy (musette22) - modern AU, pure domestic fluff, the author is cooking and it's exactly my kind of comfort food

🥰 Into The Dark (OutFoxing the Paranormal #3) (Jordan L. Hawk, author; Tristan James, narrator) - another satisfyingly spooky outing for our crew, this time at an abandoned asylum (so of course the true horror is the historical treatment of the mentally ill). This series is just…FUN - likeable characters and the right amount of spooky but never getting too dark (tho i suppose ymmv depending on triggers, etc)

Ooohh I love this question, I am very partial to fics like that. I do love their friendships with the other Avengers/Howlies/family members so much, but sometimes you crave those kinds of intimate fics that focus on just the two of them and their relationship, right? I do, in any case!

There’s a line in here where Bucky says if they weren’t so dumb they’d actually be pretty smart, and that’s exactly right for this story, because you’ll spend it telling them to open their eyes and actually realize a few things :D

He can smell them when Bucky comes back to the apartment late at night. Different men, their colognes wafting off him as he lets himself in and walks past the living room where Steve’s always waiting. It may not be every night, but it’s at least two, or sometimes even three, times a week.

Tonight is no different. Bucky keeps his head down as he walks past. He goes straight into his room and closes the door behind him with a finality that means Bucky won’t be emerging till morning. The sound of the shower starts up not two minutes later.

Steve sits alone in the living room, the scent of cologne hanging in the air like an interloper in the apartment. He can’t help thinking Why not me.

“But getting married? You think that’s gonna work?”
