OC interview with Jed Solaris !!

thank you for the tag @frauleiiin !! reading about Mave (from her herself no less) was such a treat I just knew I had to hop on this ASAP!

■ Basics

Name? “Jed. Jed Solaris. Though I’ve gone by many others as well, for the record.”

Are you single? “No. Who’s asking?”

Birthplace? “This dodgy little fringe planet. Sacorria. Grew up just outside the imperial embassy. It was… quaint. Not the sort of place I have any interest in going back to.”

Hair Color? “Ginger.” He sighs. It’s long and overdramatized. “Come on then, I’m waiting for the usual jokes.”

Eye Color? “Brown. Well, one still is. Back in the day I got myself in a bit of a jam. Lost my eye, suffered brain damage, got this scar, the works. The cybernetic used to brown actually, it was hard to tell the difference. But the infrared lens within started to bleed into the fake cornea. Hence: red. Everyone told me it’d be no trouble to get it fixed — but I haven’t bothered.”

Birthday? “March 20th. Pisces, I believe. Tell me, what’s your read on that?”

Gender? “Male.”

Mood? “Slightly irritable. Shockingly I found myself with a bit of a hangover this morning. Those don’t happen very often, I assure you.”

Are you happy? “Today? Sure.”

Are you angry? “There’s a lot to be angry about.”

Summer/Winter? “Winter. I tend to overheat.”

Morning/Afternoon? “Evening. Or I suppose very early morning.”

■ Eight things about your love life

Are you in love? “Possibly.”

Who ended your last relationship? “Well. It wasn’t the best of circumstances, we fought a lot. Fucked a lot. Nothing that was destined to be substantial. Granted, he did go and.. die on me so that was how it ended.” 

Have you ever broken someone’s heart? “Countless times. Seduction was a vital part of espionage. And the girls never took it well when they realized I could never truly reciprocate what they wanted.”

Are you afraid of commitment? “What a fascinating question.”

Have you hugged someone within the last week? “Yes.”

Have you ever had a secret admirer? “Oh plenty. You should see them.” As if he sees the usual suspects among the crowd, his eyes narrow. The few of you reading this know exactly who you are.

■ Six choices

Love or lust? “Both tend to be fleeting. Depends on the kind of love, or alternatively, how many drinks i’ve had.”

Iced tea or lemonade? “Anything if it’s spiked.”

Cats or dogs? "Cats. Theron and I have two loth cats here at base. They’re terrible little things. I love them.”

A few best friends or many regular friends? “A few truly good friends will have your back no matter what. Friends are good too. But in this line of work, it’s got to be about the few you can trust.”

Wild night out or romantic night in? “Both. And in that order.”

Day or night? “Night. For the same reason I prefer evenings. It’s still. Quiet. Sometimes it’s too quiet and that gives you an incentive to find something to do.”

Been caught sneaking out? "At the imperial academy it was practically all we ever did. We’d rush over to the cantina and try and haggle our way into some drinks and a round of blackjack. I was the best at it. No need to sneak around these days, unless it’s for work.”

Fell up/down the stairs? "No. But Theron did all the way back on Rishi. It was cute. He’ll get embarrassed if I mention it. So naturally, I do.”

Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt? "Yes. But I’ve learned I can get what I want these days. Nothing to hold me back anymore, except myself.”

Wanted to disappear? "I quite literally did. As a cipher agent, it was expected of you. And even after Intelligence disbanded, I worked with the Empire in silence. Even with the Revanites, I strayed from being a public figure. Left that to Lana. Arcann and the Alliance have pushed me back out, that’s harder than disappearing. To be honest, part of me would give anything to go back to being in the shadows.”

■ Four preferences 

Smile or eyes? "Eyes. If they’re really smiling, you’ll be able to tell in the eyes.”

Shorter or taller? “Shorter. More fun to tease.”

Intelligence or looks? "Intelligence. You have to keep up.”

Hookup or relationship? "Hookups. Most of the time.” There’s a pause. He falters, flushing a little. “Don’t look at me like that — it’s the honest truth. Theron is an exception — a miracle! I would never be married to anyone else.”

■ Family 

Do you and your family get along? "I don’t have any family to get along with. Not anymore.”

Would you say you have a "messed" up life? "You’re kidding right? On one of my more tame days, Arcann found me sneaking swigs of rubbing alcohol. Not even counting the various galaxy saving antics, I wouldn’t wish my vices on anyone.”

Have you ever run away from home? "Home fluctuated. I don’t think I had a chance to run away, even when I wanted to at times.”

Have you ever gotten kicked out? "Not that I can remember. I was too valuable.”

■ Friends 

Do you secretly hate one of your friends? "Oh there’s plenty of friends I have some semblance of loathing for. But it’s no secret. You all know who you are.”

Do you consider all your friends good? "Absolutely not. Some of them are even worse than me. Far worse. Doesn’t matter, I’m in no position to judge. Besides, ruthless maniacs make good friends in a fight.”

Who is your best friend? "Lana. Without question.”

Who knows everything about you? "Theron likes to think he knows everything about me. He probably does. As far as a devoted husband goes. But Lana knows everything from my files by memory. Prescriptions. Dates. Serial numbers. It’s… a little scary actually.” He shudders. 

“Oh, is that all the time you have? Wonderful. Now, if you’ll excuse me I’m off to the lounge for a drink.”

I saw @hurricanek8art do it with their OC Aja, so I thought about doing it for my main Maverik'a <3 (I'm not really good at rp so don't judge me lol)

■ Basics

Name: "Maverik'a. Only Maverik'a." then she whispers "or Mave for friends."

Are you single? "No and worse than that I'm actually married! But my Jedi allies probably pretend to not know that." Mave laughs "I suppose except Gnost-Dural, he seems happy for me and Theron."

Birthplace? "The Jedi Order has always kept that information from me. But if this helps, I remember a village with huts as houses, a meadow who surrounded it all and dryness."

"Though for a simpler answer, I was raised by the Jedi colony on Ska Gora. It's near Tython."

Hair color? "Black. Some might say it's a very dark brown but it looks black to me"

Eye color? "I struggled to figure that out but they're amber. It's a very light brown with hints of yellow, they're almost orange sometimes."

Birthday? "No one knows for sure but I like to think I was born in summer."

Gender? "Woman."

Mood? "Intrigued by your questions, I'm having fun!"

Are you happy? "Very, even if sometimes the galaxy's problems give me headaches." she lets a chuckle out.

When the Eternal Empire was still a thing, I would go outside because I couldn't sleep and he'd always hear me from the Alliance War room because he wouldn't sleep. I think fondly of nightime because of his company during my most difficult nights."

Been caught sneaking out? "Yes.. I just really liked to ride speeders around the Jedi colony."

Fell up/down the stairs? "Nope but I would've preferred that than be stabbed with a lightsaber." "No offense to Arcann."

Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt? "Yes. When I woke up from carbonite, when I realized I lost so much time, the only thing I could think of was to be with Theron. Sometimes I think that I could've had him earlier if it wasn't for.." she calmly sighs.

"It doesn't matter now. We've got each other now."

Wanted to disappear? "You want to disappear until you actually disappear and it's no longer a fun idea."

"But I'm not complaining! Not now that he's gone anyway."

Have you ever run away from home? "Not willingly, the Jedi Council requested me to be trained on Tython when I was 17. I didn't want to leave at first but my Master convinced me."

Have you ever gotten kicked out? "Ask my Master" she laughs "I'm joking. Maybe."

✵: Are you named after anyone?

Aleji: Technically, I think. If being named after myself counts. It was originally a mispronounced nickname, but it sort of just... stuck back when I needed a fresh start. So, Aleji it is.

✵: When was the last time you cried?

Aleji: Oh man, I'm not sure. I don't really keep track of it. Not with– [They gesture vaguely] Y'know? Chronic pain and all that, man. It's easy on the tears.

✵: Do you have kids?

Aleji: No. Gods no. I mean, not yet. There were a couple of scares with Luz, I'll admit to that, but no. [They look away, gaze lost, and smile slightly] Maybe someday though. That'd be nice.

✵: Do you use sarcasm a lot?

Aleji: Occasionally, but I try not to make a habit of it. Sarcasm with the wrong person can actually get me in trouble.

✵: What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Aleji: To be honest? The way they present themselves. Like, clothes, attitude, posture, speech, mannerism. I've got a whole mental checklist I kinda go through the longer an interaction is. It's pretty much instinct at this point.

✵: What’s your eye colour?

Aleji: That's, uhm, an actually interesting story. So, my left eye is actually blue like you're seeing, but, uhm, I... kinda keep the right one under a glamour? [They cover the right eye with a hand. After a second, a red eye with white diamond pupil and black sclera peeks through the fingers] That's what it actually looks like. It mutated a while ago to better see magic. And I've been told they go sort of purple-silver when I do magic.

✵: Scary movies or happy endings?

Aleji: Happy ending all the way. I see enough horrible stuff in real life, I don't want it in my free time too.

✵: Any special talents?

Aleji: [They glance at the interviewer] I'd say I'm a rather talented mage. Got a knack for illusions. I'd call myself more of an artist though. Magic is nothing without the art of it.

✵: Where were you born?

Aleji: Oh, nearby actually. Not in Milan's metropolitan area, but just outside it, still in the province. Small countryside town. You wouldn't know it.

✵: Do you have any pets?

Aleji: [Chuckling to themself] Does Dani count?

✵: What sort of sports do you play?

Aleji: Oh none. I mean, I own a tattoo studio where I actually work as a tattoo artist too, plus I take the occasional painting commision. All while working with my old university's magical research department and maintaining a sorta-long distance relationship? I don't have time for a sport to be quite honest.

✵: How tall are you?

Aleji: Uhm, I'm not sure actually. I don't really check. I think it might be something like one-seventy? I'm not particularly tall.

✵: What was your favourite subject in school?

Aleji: Hm, that's though. In highschool and all I'd say it was art. As in, painting, sculpting, modeling, sewing, all that. Though I'll admit I was easily more into the painting and design part of it. In university though I'd say I was rather partial to the Elementalism and Resonance Theory course. I'm still in touch with professor Bolu actually. She's great.

✵: What is your dream job?

Aleji: This. I quite literally got my dream job being a tattoo artist. I love seeing the way people light up at the decorations on their skin, and some of the ideas they come up with are honestly amazing and ambitious and I love a good challenge. I'm not quite as much of a fan of the business and management side of it, but that's what I get for wanting to start my own studio. [They chuckle]

K. "Fit in? Why would I" *laughs* "Would I like people not to stare at me like I'm some kind of exotic rarity because I'm an albino? Yes. Would I like people not to look at me with pitiful eyes because of my scars? Yes. Would I want to be anything different than a prodigy of Wammy's House? Hell no. "

L. "She likes showing off too much."

K. "I like showing off. Put me in jail for it, will you, detective? I mean, all the knowledge in my brain hasn't just popped out spontaneously, I worked hard on every language, every skill, every school subject, everything. The least the others can do is admiring me. "

*opens her arms and throws her head back, expecting a crow clapping. J makes critter sounds. E gives her thumbs up. L drags her away.*

K. "Wait! I still have the perfect day thing! Well, for starters I'd like not to be an hostage or live under the same roof with mass murderers. I'd like to... have a house, and wake up in a bed which is mine. Work out for an hour, and then have breakfast on the porch when the sun is just rising. I like sun, now. I've made peace with it.

I'd read newspaper, then take my laptop and wander around in town, working from coffee shops. Around people. Without hiding. I'd lecture at Wammy's House and see the kids, I... I'd like to spend time with... the kids. Maybe playing the piano a bit. And in the evening, I'd like to go to theatre. Whatever production is there in town. Amd I would read a comic or a book before going to bed. But, you see... in my perfect day, I'm not alone. I could be sick in bed, but surrounded by the people I love, my family... That would be perfect."

OC Interview

@frauleiiin tagged me with this awesome interview game. So I thought I'd throw it at my boy Tol'Raz to flesh out his voice and mannerisms. This ended up taking awhile because who would've guessed that my smuggler would be so talkative!

Basics

Name: Flops down on his seat and raps the table with his knuckles "Alright questions, shoot 'em."

"My name? It was originally Tol'ra, but I got an accidental name change when I was getting my spacetravel pass to leave Mek-Sha. Stupid paper work said my last name need to be at least three letters not two!" He gestures angrily "So I had make up somethin' fast, ended up tackin' on a Z. Been Tol'raz ever since.

"I sort of wish I'd thought to make it an H instead so my name would've at least sounded the same. But no! The Z's stuck on all the official papers and everything. Not that it really matters, actual names are pretty iffy in shady side of galaxy."

Are you single?: "Aren't I ever, it's been rough! Women just don't seem to notice me and when they do it just doesn't work out! Like their was this cute Beryl Thorne on Taris, who sorta liked me, but my dumb ass didn't notice till when we're about done with the job. We left the planet before I could figure out how I felt about her! It totally sucked."

"There was a recent situation on Alderaan where Lady Teraan's brother joked she liked me. Then when I returned their money to them everybody ditched me to have dinner with her. Like it wouldn't have been so bad of Corso and Bowdarr hadn't acted so weird about it. The dinner was okay but just I felt terrible the whole time, like Lady Teraan was just so, so out of my league."

Birthplace?: "Mek-Sha, lived there for a little bit with the Moms, and Aunts in this corner building. Lot's of comers and goes especially at night. Later I left for the Mek-Sha streets and airways, lived there much for longer, than I ever did at the Corner Building. Those where the days just me, my speeder, and the gang with the thousand lights rushing around us as we drove."

Morning/Afternoon?: "Afternoon, most of my crew gets up early all on their own like the lunatics they are. But they don't need their Captain to get already, it pays to have competents around."

Are you in love? "Not unless you count the Fireflight she'll always be my number one. I mean I saved her from Skavak and everything."

Who ended your last relationship? "Need to have had one to end one. I still haven't been in one yet, life just keep on happenin' and stuff."

Have you ever broken someones heart? "No, no ones been around long enough for that to happen. Disappointed a lot of people sure, if they got heart broken too, its...not something that I know about."

Are you afraid of commitments? "Nah, its not me being too afraid to commit, its the spacer life style of not sticking around one place for long. Makes commitments difficult unless their in it too or are okay waiting for you to come back and only leave again."

Have you hugged someone within the last week? "Course I have! A functioning crew needs hugs. Like I accidentally elbowed Corso in the face the other day while doing some maintenance on the Firefight, so we had to hug it out. Or at least I tried too, he wasn't on same page so it was more of a side armed huggo dealeo."

He snaps is fingers and abruptly straightens up "This morning! My most recent hug was this morning! I faked choked out Bowdarr when he was eating breakfest. Don't make that face that totally counts as a hug. Bowdarr loved it!"

Have you ever had a secret admirer? "No? I mean the Beryl Thorne I'd mentioned earlier could be but I don't actually know if she was being all that secretive or if was I just big dummy for not noticing anything."

Love or lust? His expression darkens into something troubled. "Love. I couldn't--- it would have to be love."

Iced tea or lemonade? "Lemonade, not only does it taste wayyy better but you can add alcohol to it. Imagine trying to put booze in iced tea!"

Cats or dogs? "Neither, druids are were its at man. Granted you wouldn't think that seeing the menagerie we have on the Fireflight, right but that is not me! Blame Pipes!"

A few best friend or many regular friends? "I just need people so what ever I can have is good. Like I used to have to close besties when I was with my old crew and that was awesome but I liked having the extended crew as well. Like its just nice for there always to people just around, you know?"

Wild night out or romantic night in? "Wild night out, what kind of question is that any way? How am I supposed to know which ones better if I've never experienced a romantic night in?"

Day or night? "Day, their was always more crazies running around at night in the city, doesn't matter which planet you're on its always the same. So I trying to do my business more in the day so as not to get tangled up in the wrong crowd. Like if things were different I'd probably love night more, but that ain't happenin'."

Been caught sneaking out? "Yes a ton, before I'd had enough and left the Corner Building. I would sneak out all the time to ride my speeder around the city with the boys."

"Once I was on the Reaver I'd still sneak out to but less often. When I did thought my old man would alway catch me and then he'd bust my ass for sneaking out. He was ex black ops so you can imagine how that went."

"He actually taught me the most out of anybody, ever. Don't know why he put up with me really, its not like we were really family. But he said he saw somethin' in me, not that ever stopped him from hounding my ass and wacking me upside the head cause' I was talking too big or whatever."

Fell up/down the stairs? "Ugh so much, I mean Corso saved my hide joining the crew. That sucker is so long and gangly that he is even clumsier than me. Seriously he absolutely destroys his shin's on everything!"

Wanted something/someone so badly it hurt? "Yeah all the time. There so much, that I don't have, but I want to have."

"Like I'd want Parents, and family a proper one, with a house and everything. Aboard the Reaver I managed to sort of have a one, but it didn't change the fact that the people you find to be your family aren't really your family, because deep down you know they are not. It's just a hurt that is just always there, and there isn't really a fix for it, not that I know of. So I've taken hanging around alright people, and it kind of helps."

"Their was also a time where I wanted really badly was for one of besties to see me as more that a friend but she ended to dating my other best buddy instead. That sucked big time, but there isn't a single thing I can do about. Honestly saying all this is making me realize that stuff I can't do anything about is what hurts me most."

Wanted to disappear? "Yeah when I my old crew chewed me out real bad that made me want to disappear. There was also some stuff that happened when I was real little at the Corner House that ... was worse? I dunno, looking back what I saying doesn't seem right, like I too young to feel like disappearing. So that might just me remembering things wrong, with things being so long ago and all."

Smile or eyes? "Smile, smiles are good, also there are some people with some seriously cool chompers. Like have you ever seen a nautolan smile? I mean it is a little scary when you don't know what you're lookin' at though. But that doesn't make it less cool."

Shorter or taller? "Eh shorter, then I get to be the big one. It's a bit strange when a women's bigger than me sort throws me off you know? But its not something I couldn't get used too."

Intelligence or looks? "What kind of a question is that? Can I be with some one smart? Like I'm so...uh let put it this way, overly smart people are like way out of my league. As for beautiful people they are scary and its hard to dig deep to get to know'em when your brain freezes when they talk to you."

"All this intelligence or looks stuff is just nonsense. I want some one like me! Oh wait no ---not like that, but like in roughly similar to me sort of way. Just some one I can actually talk to who doesn't make me feel dumb. You get me?"

Hookup or relationship?

"Relationship. You know how I mentioned that I didn't get a proper family? Well like relationships are what makes family so if was to have kids I'd want to them to have family. Not that I'm planning on kids. It's just that I want to do things in a way that I think is sorta good. Like people seem to think relationships are the way to go for the sort of things I want, so that's what I'd try to do."

Family

Do you and your family get along? "Nah, the Mom's and Aunt's were always on somebodies case, be it mine or each others. There was never any peace with all the bickering. They had to keep their bickering on the sly though, since nobody wanted the Boss Man involved."

Would you say you have a "messed' up life? "No, like it wasn't normal or whatever. But spacers don't really have those sorts of lives anyways."

Have you ever run away from home? "Eh left Mek'sha and the Corner House as soon as I the credits to rub together. It was sort of expected that I'd leave, since I wasn't interested in being part of the business. So it wasn't really running away, yah feel me?"

Do you consider your friends good? "Nah, life is too rough for anybody to be good. Seen to much to say other wise. I just glom on to those that try, you never know if some of that sorta goodness will rub off on you or not. Maybe some other peeps will end up sticking to me for the same reason, that'd be grand wouldn't it."

Whose is you best friend? "Right now? Pipes, Corso, and maybe Bowie. Pipes got the brains for business, but she also soft. Which is really sweet but kind of annoying, since it gets in the way and stuff. Wouldn't be operating like I am with out her though. She's good for me and crew, which I all I need."

"Corso's just plain loyal and he knows what to do. Made him my 1st mate cause of it, and he been doing terrific. So really liken' him, and Bowie's been the same. I just know those guys have got my back no matter what. Its nice to have that again. So I hope we get to work together for awhile."

Do people still care about this kind of stuff? I’m pansexual. I don’t really care about what people have in their pants, I’m more interested in what happens in their heads.

Nationality/Ethnicity

I consider myself American. But my family has French origins, as you can probably tell from my surname. But yeah, I was born here. Went back to France often, though, as a kid.

Favorite fruit?

Peaches. Had the luck to taste a few right from the tree.

My favorite is summer. I like the summer in Provence, that’s where I go whenever possible.

Well, it’s not a dream trip because I go there whenever I can. But I like France. My family is from there and I still have an estate in Provence. I like going there, now that they are out of the picture.

I don't care about fictional characters. I like historical ones. My favorite is Vincent van Gogh. You know… the blend of art and madness. He’s someone I feel close to.

One. Silk preferably. And with a decent threads count. Yes, I’ve developed some fancy tastes in my life.

Random shit?

I've left my family for a long period. Since I was fourteen until I was twenty-two. Joined a gang, pretended I was like any other hopeless street-kid there. It was fun. I ended going back to my family because, you know, money don't suck.

But it gave me perspective. And the edge to succed in what I make. My family money helped me, too, of course. But that period was an important part of who I am now, anyway. I've also made my closest friends in that time.

Yes~! My name actually translates to “angel.” I have to thank my mom, Amaterasu, for that one!

When was the last time you cried?

I-I stepped on a bug yesterday, and it took thirty minutes for Ita to calm me down.

Do you have any kids?

Mmmmnope. I’m still young for a celestial. In human I’d be…20.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

H-Huh? I don’t think I even know how to….

What’s the first thing you notice about people?

OH! Usually if they make me feel all warm and fuzzy to be around. Ita does that all the time! He’s so warm and nice….oh! And he beat up these two criminals the first night I crashed down in Hokkaido, so I know I’m safe with him 💖

What is your eye color?

A shocking blue!! I was given the gift of lightning like Raiden, but I’m…haha….s-still not quite sure how to use it. It makes Ita very nervous…

Scary movies or happy endings?

Happy endings!! Aaaaa, there was one time Ita turned on a scary movie and I couldn’t look up from his chest. I-I felt really embarrassed, but he was so kind about it. He let me snuggle up to him the rest of the night so I wouldn’t get nightmares. Funny, his whole face was so red….like a tomato! Haha….oh, I wonder if he wants me saying this….?

Any special talents?

Oh! I have my scepter! It can shoot a really cool lightning arc. I….may have caused a blackout in parts of Japan because of it….? D-Don’t tell my brothers….Mike will get FURIOUS….! I can also fly when I have my wings unfurled, but…for obvious reasons I can’t do that a lot, haha….~

That part is still a mystery to me. I’m trying to find my mom for more answers, but it’s kind of hard to get in touch with a sun god…figures, huh?

Do you have any pets?

Umo!!! He’s my pet dove familiar. He’s actually how my brothers were able to send me letters, but he’s a good boy who didn’t tell them my location, nor did he let them put a tracker on him. I have seed for him whenever he visits, and if I can pull it off, we do a flight together 🕊️

Awww, I really didn’t like school, mainly because Mike was my teacher, and he’s STRICT. That’s…kind of the reason why I came here…heh.

What is your dream job?

OH!! Ita got me a part-time job working in a small library in Gaijin, and I LOVE it! It’s really quiet, but we get a little traffic since we’re next to a diner. When I’m not helping customers find books or sweeping the floor, my boss lets me read. There’s SO many cool things about Earth!! Did you know that you have separate cook books for jasmine rice and brown rice recipes? THAT’S AMAZING!!! ✨✨✨

OC Interview with Ardreyth Mizzrym

Long text.. because I've cut out the interview a bit...

Ardreyth takes a seat opposite the interviewer, pours herself a glass of wine and places both a dagger and her whip on the table, resting her feet on it with a certain nonchalance. Interviewer: Oh, thank you very much on behalf of Baldur's Gazette for agreeing to do this interview, Mrs. Dekarios! Suddenly, the young elven bard interrupts his words as his attention turns to the wildly gesticulating Gale, who has taken a seat in an armchair at an angle behind Ardreth.

Ardreyth: Excuse me!? How did you address me!? Interviewer: I, I, I, mean Lady.. *Ardreyth raises one eyebrown*, ahm, C'rintri? C'rinti Mizzrym?? Ardreyth *sighs*: “ Let's get started, my time and patience are not unlimited.”

Interviewer: Ahem, well, then comes here my first question:

“Really? That's your first question? I hope your next question is wittier, young man, otherwise this conversation will be a very short one"!

"Yes, I was named after a person. My name comes from the sister of Mother Matron Minaste. She killed her own sister to elevate herself to Mother Matron. It is said that she strangled her with her bare hands. To humiliate her nephew Da'viir and Callimar and to demonstrate her power, she apparently took pleasure in giving me this name."

"Tsk, … Ardreyth pulls her second dagger from the holster on her thigh and lets the blade spin on the tip of her index finger - with a lightning-fast movement, she throws the knife between the fingers of the interviewer's right hand, which is resting on the table. Her blue eyes fix on the bard - who swallows briefly, "What did I told you before about be witty? Ardreyth is still fixing the bard"..."and says with a very charming smile.."but i will be lenient".

Tears are seen as a sign of weakness in Menzoberanzzan. I don't let tears flow … but there was a moment - Ardreyth runs her thumb gently over the tattoo on her left forearm - … when someone close to me was torn from me, a loss that I could not prevent.

Gale in the background:

Ardreyth sips her wine - Silence - After a long while, she finally begins to speak. ‘It would be wise to prepare more thoroughly for an interview and learn more about the culture of the person you are interviewing. It seems they have little knowledge of Drow culture.’ With a determined look, Ardreyth pulls her legs off the table and reaches for the whip. Gale, sitting in the back, ‘Ardreyth, don't be so hard on him…’ Ardreyth turns towards him: ‘You know my aversion to foolish questions…’ Gale wants to answer, but she waves him off: ‘Yes, yes, I know, there are no stupid questions, only stupid answers…’ sigh ‘My answer to this utterly brilliant question is an unequivocal no.’

Adreyth glances over her shoulder: ‘Now I can…?’ Gale shakes his head emphatically: ‘No way.’

What's the first thing you notice about people?

Ardreyth's milky blue eyes narrow to slits as a smug smile slides across her lips. "The first… Hm, I would say… everything. Whether it's the body language that gives away whether someone wants to flee or fight, the pupils that dilate before a lie is uttered… or even, Ardreyth leans across the table to the bard when the breath catches and fear rears its head… *The bard begins to rock nervously back and forth on his chair*. Ardreyth looks deep into his eyes… and the smell… that smell of uncertainty… the sweat of uncertainty… Ardreyth leans back and crosses her legs: You, hm, you… *and gives him a charming smile… But you… you exude *Ardreyth takes a deep breath* Gale: ARDREYTH!…

Interviewer: Yes, *clears his throat* well… Let's move on to my next question. Ah, I see that you have pets. The interviewer points to Tara, who has now taken a seat next to Gale.

Ardreyth: 'Now would be a good time, wouldn't it? Gale? Tara?' Please?

Ardreyth grabs her whip, swings it and pulls the bard across the table towards her. ‘What are you doing? Are you playing on the ridiculous rumours about the Drows' love skills? Is that a foolish allusion to my past?’ The young bard begins to sweat nervously. ‘Speak! No, no… forget the question… Excuse me…’ Hesitantly, Ardreyth loosens the whip that had been coiled around his neck. ‘You're lucky… If you had asked me that question and all your other foolish questions fifty years ago, you would have been dead by now.’

Interviewer: "Okay, maybe now a harmless question:

What sort of sports do you play?

Astarion: "10 gold coins that this lovely young bard will die in the next 10 minutes." Ardreyths ignores the question...

Ardreyth:

What was your favourite academic subject?

Ardreyth looks at the young bard for a while until she breaks the silence: 'The weapons and combat training with Callimar… I owe everything I know to him. He was my master, my friend… my… Ardreyth falls silent

Ardreyth shakes her head at this question… I really don't know whether to laugh or end this quickly and painfully. Astarion: End it! Minthara, who's also here: She's been on the surface too long… Why is that darthiir wimp still alive? Ardreyth: Tour guide… I lead excursions into the shadowy depths of the Underdark. What do you think? Maybe you want to dive into the enchanting world of the Underdark with an oneway portal? *Ardreyth waggles her eyebrows*

Interviewer: Ahem. Yes... how kind of you. So, here my last question:

I think that concludes the interview, which proves to be a happy ending as you escape here alive. And for the record, this was the last time I had any dealings with you.

Are you named after anyone?

"My first name, Vermir, just means sea bird, which is sort of a fucked up thing to name a baby. My surname, Nadvalsib, is in keeping with Teaban traditions. My mother's name was Nadval and I'm a woman, so hence the -sib."

When was the last time you cried?

"I can't anymore, so... about five hundred years ago, in that case? I think I cried all the tears I had left when- when I saw the results of my experiment with the dark beyond. I never meant for things to end like that.... I was supposed to have saved them...."

Do you have kids?

"Absolutely not. I don't mind kids, but I've never had the desire for my own."

Do you use sarcasm a lot?

"For people smart enough to pick up on it, sure."

What's the first thing you notice about people?

"If they're sorcerers or not. I might prefer to plan out my captures, but I'll take what's given to me if it comes down to it."

"They were a dark brown when I was human. Perfected as I am, they shine an electric white."

"Oh, scary endings! I love anything with practical effects, especially. The craftsmanship is incredible."

"Can't say that I do. I don't have the time to take care of one."

"Son, I'm in the middle of conquering a planet in order to buck the boot of our tyrant gods. And you think I have time for sports?"

"I was about 5'5" before my ascendency, but I'm a solid 7'0" now. It feels good."

"I never formally went to school - those weren't so widespread when I was a girl - so I learned my trade through apprenticing under the former mage of the village. He was a nice enough fellow, even if he never had the ambition to add any more to his knowledge than what he'd learned from his predecessor. He did, however, have an incredible knack for alchemy. Learning the potion trade from him made up for his failings in other areas."
