Rachel: Well, yes and no. I'm told there were mortals on the Andromeda that were staying there but Kronos kicked them off at around the time I joined so I never got to know any of them. There is technically another mortal here, Zorah, she's a magician from another pantheon, and before you finding out there were other pantheons definetly didn't send me spiralling thinking about how small our lives are haha, I've tried talking to him a couple times but I don't think she likes me very much. I think they and Al have some sort of dislike of one another for some reason so I think they just keep that when they're around me so there's not much i can do. I don't think many people actually like her because she spent like a week burning our food supplies, something about a "sworn nemesis", in any case nobody wants to bother him. I honestly think he might be a little lonely.

I love Insaf and Rund they're my little guys im so glad so many people like them too 😭 when i make ocs for media i like to try and explore things that help to flesh out the world more and wizzy has SO many nonhuman peoples and there's just so much you can do ... no shade to people with human ocs of course. but personally i like exploring different things with each character i make

Krokotopia is one of my favorite worlds because i'm old and i like lizard people. it isnt without criticism (LOTS of criticism) though. i dont think ive ever seen another mander oc before (although i havent looked *that* hard, theres probably some out there!) so they were my go-to when making an oc from that world.

Insaf loves history! especially the history of magic in her world. she's often frustrated after she comes to wizard city and the library doesn't have much information on krokotopia's history, let alone things about her culture or anything before the krok dynasties came to power. after being Alhazred's student, she finds Arthur Wethersfield's teaching suuuuper lackluster in comparison. she corrects things he says about Balance magic in her mind. Insaf would be an "um, actually" girl if she wasn't nerfed with a severe anxiety disorder LMAO

she's actually really easy to anger but is just so adept at bottling it that she never shows it. this girl wants to rage so badly. magic is her outlet. she's a bit of a wildcard during duels since shes small and unassuming but VERY quickly becomes very aggressive with lots of offensive spells. she got a broomstick when she moved to wizard city but sucks at riding it and is pretty embarrassed about it (her tail throws her off-balance). she also has a pet chameleon in her dorm! its name is Sheba.

Now for Rund. i love birds and dinosaurs and corvids so a raven was a must-have for me as an oc. also its fun to put your characters through the horrors (ie a cult) and Rund definitely gets the brunt of it lmao. i haven't really ever made a character dealing with amnesia because its such a cheap plot cliché and its never done accurately to how amnesia actually works as like. a nuerological condition. so with Rund i've been really researching how it actually works so that i can portray it well.

amnesia is still not very well understood because the brain is so silly and complicated but if i were to label her with something it'd be pure retrograde amnesia. after her head injury, she can't really remember much at all about herself, and isn't familiar with ravenscar or anyone there. she CAN remember how to use runes, though, and other "muscle-memory" things. after she's sent to wizard city to recover, she starts getting some memories back over time (mostly information she got while reading, and some personal details) but memories specifically retaining to the Coven are much harder for her to remember.

Rund is also autistic (both she and Insaf are) and has some other underlying conditions that were exacerbated by both her head injury and the traumatic stress she was under. she has both motor and vocal tics, and doesn't speak much outside of echoalia. she's very easily overwhelmed so she sticks to less crowded and quieter places, which are hard to find in wizard city ... its why she and insaf hang out by the death school LMAO. no one else is ever there.

Rund uses runestones instead of a spelldeck, just like a lot of people in Grizzleheim traditionally do. she likes to shake the bag and hear them clinking together. her mount is a Death Vortex, and i rationalize it as like ... her turning into a cloud to zip around (usually so she can get on top of something and perch up there). she likes having her hood up so she can block out stimuli. Rund knows people look at her differently, which is part of why she avoids most people. she doesn't really know how to feel about being sent to Ravenwood, but supposes its better than the alternative ... though she misses Grizzleheim's snow.

Rund and Insaf met when they were assigned partner on a death class project. neither of them really had friends before that at ravenwood. Insaf doesn't expect anything of Rund or judge her for things she can't control. Likewise, Rund doesn't judge Insaf for having "unsightly" feelings, and can relate to it. they both like yapping about magic and history, and take turns talking at eachother. they have library dates where they go and point out flaws in the literature (hater activity). they're their own best company.

hehe! i wanna talk about someone i haven't talked about on here before soooo. it's issac time.

so issac stewart is technically an earth genasi (but i ignore that part) and a sorcerer. he's my character for my friends and i's the last of us three-shot that we STILL HAVEN'T FINISHED AND OUR LAST SESSION WAS IN MAY. WHOOPS. idk if you've seen/played the last of us (i haven't) but i am. going to talk like you haven't.

anyways.

the campaign takes place on our college campus which has been turned into a safe zone from the zombies. issac was an RA in the freshman boys dorms when the outbreak started and has stayed on campus since. the rest of the party were travelers who planned to just stay the night on the campus and then get back to whatever they're doing who got pulled into the Everything. the rest of the party in question is: vulcan (he/him), aasimar cleric who believes straight sex cause the apocalypse (joke that spiraled extremely quickly), farah ammar (she/her), half-elf monk, and blade ammar (he/him), half-elf rogue. farah and blade are siblings.

the four of them left the confines of the "safe" campus to go into the parts that are still overrun with zombies to chase after a young girl who had snuck out. they found her being accosted by two FEDRA (government) members who they killed and then realized that the FEDRA camp was expecting them back within a day, and that someone was definitely going to come looking if they never came back. blade and vulcan disguised themselves as the agents and went back to the camp to basically check back in, spend the night there, and make it not look That weird when they then disappeared again- or at least, make it look like it was unrelated to the school so FEDRA didn't come knocking.

back on campus, farah and issac ran into two guys named jack and evan who were looking jack's husband chris and their friend pat who had last been seen on the campus. turns out the last time they'd been there was a year ago when more of the campus was safe, and they'd been staying in a building that got overrun with zombies. the survivors had been working on re-clearing that building recently, so we decided to take jack and evan with us to go looking. while searching, we figured out that pat had been turned but chris had managed to survive on his own, squirreled away in one of the upstairs rooms.

farah and issac left to bring chris, jack, and evan back to campus and get chris medical care when the door to the dining hall in the area burst open and a hoard of zombies came out. they ran, but farah had to fall back and sacrifice herself in order to ensure chris got away and i am LITERALLY INSANE ABOUT THAT because i explicitly promised blade that nothing would happen to her and i. was wrong. and i am now so scared <3

Bio:

Basically this demon got fed up with the underworld and revolted to the point of a war breaking out, so he’s completely rogue and definitely a little unhinged. He managed to escape and now lives like a drifter on the surface world.

Classic edgy brooding gunslinger who intimidates most people and is proud of that. Totally someone you’d see in a bar with his legs kicked up on the counter.

He’s an asshat and constantly pissy. Can and will beat the shit out of you if you annoy him. Usual method of quickly dealing with irritation is to throw one of his steel-toed boots, aimed right for the face. And yes he is super fucking strong and can throw bodies across the room no problem. He’s also immortal but can still get injured, and can only be truly killed by other otherworldly beings (i.e. other demons, angels, gods, etc.)

He still wears his helmet he used in battle for a couple reasons, partly since he’s uncertain if he’s got a bounty on him or not, but mostly cos he’s trying to distance himself from his identity as a demon. He does have low self esteem and a lot of unresolved issues (y’know since he was literally a servant of the devil and a battle survivor). Totally bottles up his feelings to the point they manifest in anger. Poor guy needs therapy and a good cry session.

But he still cares. He hides how soft he can really be. Only fully relaxes around people he trusts with his life. Getting past his tough shell rewards with a guy who’s got a passionate soul and a warm heart.

I mean yes he’s a charming softy once you win him over but that’s near impossible.)

2. Do you have a personal favourite among your OCs?

Currently divided between the two characters I think about the most: Tris and Ammar. Would it be surprising if I said they both 'belong' to certain games' universes?

Tris started as a Bloodborne oc, to eventually claim the title of the last runemaster. Right now they're all over the soulsborne verses in rp (except for demon's souls and sekiro, they briefly made an appearance in Elden Ring too in a short scene).

Ammar is inspired by the playable character in the game Salt and Sacrifice, but slowly got a story and a world to work with, although I'm still very much entertaining their world of origin and writing. They started as someone seeking to rid the world of the gods' intervention, which later morphed into trying to please one specific god so that it would leave them alone. That metamorphosis of beliefs is precisely what drives them to become one of the most accomplished members of the Inquisition, who understands its true purpose: to create and offer sacrifices.

28. Your most dangerous OC?

Anho, they have no competition. An ascended tyrant who got the taste of godhood and decided it was too good to be shared with others, and made the world into an immortality-producing machine, in exchange for its sun.

There's not a single redeeming quality about them worth mentioning, and no character traits or traumas ever excuse the hardships and terror they brought to their very own world, if only they'd stay a god forever.

Anho also constitutes as the most powerful oc: a deity of perception, existing only where the mind wanders.

thanks to someone's generous donations, we were able to get all of the money we needed for ammar's medication only a day late, on the 25th exactly when samah was hoping to have it for the day before

this means that ammar's medication needs have been met for now, and we can restart the goal for him - i hope we can raise this in 5 days from now, let's do our best for him to keep him medicated

unfortunately due to the 20% fees samah has to pay to get her money from the person who gives it to her, to get her $700 we need to raise $875 - and then ko-fi asks for roughly 5% fees, which means we must add $44 more. this totals to $919

i know this goal is rather high, but i really hope we can get this money for him so that he can keep healthy while we focus on getting him out of here, such that he won't need to pay too much of this

unfortunately ammar needs some medication to make sure he is well after the operation he had 3 days ago - namely, he needs painkillers and antibiotics

samah has told me that it is going to cost $1263 for his post-surgery care - because she will have to pay 20% fees to get this money to her, i have it up as $1600.

his condition without having immediately received the post-surgery medication already worsened enough that he had to return to intensive care last night

in 3 days he has had surgery, left the hospital, and failed to receive the medication needed to keep him well after the surgery, then became ill enough to go back to the hospital.

I was asked by @grasswatcher for fics that explore STAR WARS’ Jedi culture and this is one of those subjects that’s dearest to my heart, because I constantly crave more exploration of what it must be like to be a Level 100 Space Psychic in touch with an ancient, unfathomable energy field that creates feedback loops in your head and connects you to all living things and can overwhelm you so easily if you don’t have your shit together, just as much as I want to know about Jedi traditions and Jedi artwork and Jedi philosophy and Jedi stories and Jedi language and all of it.
