any particular significance to Eurydice's name?

Short answer? I've got an MA in Classics and anything Greco-Roman related makes me starting biting and seeps into every aspect of my life, including what I often name my ocs.

Long answer, if you don't already know the story of Eurydice, she's a nymph who married Orpheus, shortly after their marriage she was bit by a snake and died. Orpheus traveled into the underworld to get her back and sang a song so beautiful Persephone was moved and pleaded on behalf of them to her husband, Hades who then released Eurydice under the condition that Orpheus doesn't turn back. Well, he does and Eurydice is lost forever.

When naming Eury I wasn't as focused on the tragic love story aspect of the myth (which don't get me wrong I absolutely love) more on the tragedy of a character being forever lost and being so close the end but fate is a horrible and dangerous thing. She's ultimately a tragic character forever stuck in her duty and her past who despite being physically alive, feels so much closer to death because of the nature of her profession.

Soooo I'm making a carrd for Corot and the 71st Air Combat Wing. I've never really done OC content like this before, but what the hell, I wanna try it!

Imayne finds a kindred spirit among her men. She and Corot like to destress after battles by watching the stars roll by and discussing astronomy. Imayne loves learning new things, and Corot loves having someone listen to him. They also play cards and drink tea when they have the time

Spent most of the day on this since I have no tablet right now, so the process was slow. The lineart was drawn traditionally with a pen, everything else was done with a mouse

Silas is the human, and Corot is what is known as a Patron.

I think I'll keep that clone oc around, here's him during his GAR years! Corot's paint job was a complete accident. He almost washed it off, then decided to keep it when he realized it looked like a nebula. Now, the man is a walking star chart, as he should be

His name is pronounced "CORE-oh". I swear it was some astronomy reference but I forgot the details. Speaking of details, the clone armor is a pain in the ass to draw!!
