Sporadic Tumblr Blog Status Report - June 29, 2025

New post format! I kinda like it. Not sure how often I'll remember to do one of these.

Still going through the (ever increasing) backlog of Team Fortress 2 fanart I have gathered (you may have noticed that has included supplying flashfire/pyroscout to @official-flashfire), which will likely flood the blog for a while.

I have a drawing to celebrate the Steam Summer Sale! The price tag gimmick is coming back at the cost of only drawing one character. This is released! (I will not deny the existence of other versions of it out there)

I might dig out more random sketches/doodles I don't plan on refining and post them here (problem is I always want to say I'll go back to something... even if it takes months or even years).

Parts 32, 33, and 34 (Edit: also part 35) of the "Modded Left 4 Dead 2 Screenshots" series are scheduled to release this July.

Self-Insert Sundays, an idea I joked about in the past, might happen but not be restricted to Sundays (aka: fighting my ongoing conflict on whether I want to post Self-insert stuff or not).

You say that Shouto did get airborne, but to me it seemed like Bakugou was carrying Endeavour and Shouto all the way up. I think Shouto can kind of stay up in the air with the propulsion of his ice and fire but I don't think we can quite call it airborne tbh. Though I guess with the quality of the scans we can't see really well (and yeah, I'm curious about Shouto's reaction too, bc even though it was hyped as a bkdk moment, Shouto is also bound to react strongly)

Yeah, it’s still very unclear, which is why I’m waiting for the official version to post anything about it. For sure, Bakugou was the main source of the propulsion to get them up there, but I think I saw fire coming out of Shouto’s legs too as they moved upwards, and once they let go of Endeavor, he definitely seemed like he was at least floating/not falling on his own (which is already more airborne than we ever saw him). 

So maybe he can’t produce enough force to get himself in the air (though Endeavor can, and since Shouto was working on flashfire, it’s logical to me that he would have learned that too) or he could be simply slower than Bakugou (very likely, given Bakugou has the most air-mobility out of the three) and they needed to stay together so Shouto could keep cooling Endeavor. 

I think that simultaneous use of ice and fire for two different things could also be an additional slowing factor for Shouto - in the past at least he had such problems - because with fire he would need a lot of compression/release to fly, while with his ice-side he needed a controlled output of a stable temperature not to freeze Endeavor. 

Yeah, I’m really curious of his reaction to what’s going on (I’m pretty sure he’ll have a strong reaction to seeing his friends hurt) but even more his next action. How well he can move in the air is definitely going to be a factor in what he does next.

Muse Introduction: Genesis Rhapsodos (FF7)

History:

Hidden History -

In 1970, Professor Gast Faremis discovered what was believed to be an Ancient buried deep in the ice on the Northern Continent, and recovered the body for study. The Jenova Project - named after the “Ancient” - had the goal of awakening the powers of humanity’s ancestors once more. Initial tests on adults were unsuccessful, however, and it was eventually deemed necessary to start prenatal experiments if they wished to successfully alter individual DNA enough to reach their goals.

The Jenova Project was ultimately headed by Gast, but its two sub-projects were run by scientists that worked under him. Lucas Hollander’s Project G was the first to bear fruit, producing two children who were ultimately deemed failures and passed off to live ‘normal’ lives in Banora. Jirou Hojo’s Project S produced a third child a year later, the one official success that would be taken to Midgar to be raised in ShinRa.

The children were never informed of their origins.

Known History -

The Rhapsodos family was easily one of the more affluent families on the southern continent, and their son lacked nothing physically. Emotionally, they were distant at best, and controlling in ways that quickly shaped their strong-willed son to rebel. This started a cycle of rebellion and heavy handed punishment that led to Genesis spending as much time as he possibly could away from his family. When he couldn’t get out of the house, he was buried in books. When he could, he vanished into Banora where he’d made friends with Angeal Hewley. The pair felt a bond from the beginning and spent their formative years growing increasingly closer.

From the Hewleys, Genesis found the warmth and emotional support lacking in his own family and an escape from what he was coming to recognize as an abusive environment. With their influence, the hot headed youth slowly gained more positive traits than his own parents had managed to cultivate, desperately seeking the praise and approval he craved.

When ShinRa went public with the SOLDIER program and their quickly-famous young hero Sephiroth, all of Genesis fanciful dreams of becoming a hero himself stood up and took notice. Thoughts of becoming a scholar or a famous actor fell to the wayside and he promptly took his sword and magic lessons much more seriously, his goals narrowing down to meeting Sephiroth himself, and becoming a hero alongside him. As soon as he was old enough to make the cut, Genesis headed for Midgar with his best friend in tow.

Neither Banoran could have anticipated the Wutai War breaking out mere months later, and they were sent to the front lines shortly after receiving their SOLDIER Third enhancements. It was a sobering experience, but Genesis didn’t shy from it. While it was a long, brutal fight, the teenager quickly excelled and climbed the ranks, making such a name for himself that several fanclubs formed in his honor. By the time he was a First, he could call himself both Sephiroth’s peer, and his friend, though Genesis’ lingering insecurities and flashfire temper clashed horribly with Sephiroth’s social awkwardness, often leading to them fighting.

By the end of the war, Genesis holds rank of Third in Command of the actual SOLDIERs, answering only to Angeal, Sephiroth, and their director himself.

Description:

Genesis is unfortunately on the smaller side, for a SOLDIER, coming in at 5’10 - 6’0, in his favorite boots. Despite living on the warm southern continent, he’s fair skinned and slow to tan. His eyes have always been a pale blue, though they gained a mako glow when he joined SOLDIER, and his auburn hair is kept short in an artful tousle. Both of his ears are pierced.

Post-DoC, his hair comes down to the back of his thighs. When his WEAPON is active, his eyes go from SOLDIER-blue to a reddish violet.

5 Android apps you shouldn’t miss this week! – Android Apps Weekly Welcome to the 243rd edition of Android Apps Weekly. Here are the big headlines from last week: Pokemon Go players are helping Niantic more than they know. Niantic CEO John Hanke told Reuters as much earlier this week. Apparently, player activity is generating AR maps for future games in Niantic’s pipeline, including Harry Potter: Wizards Unite. His Google+ post outlines a new project that is taking up a lot of his time. Between that and Google’s continued muzzling of the root community, he just isn’t as into it as he used to be. The announcement doesn’t affect SuperSU. Chainfire handed that over to another team a while ago. However, others like FlashFire, are on the chopping block. Google announced the winners of the 2018 Google Play Awards at Google I/O 2018 this week. The winners include Be My Eyes for Best Accessibility, BBC Earth: Life in VR for the Best AR or VR Experience category, and Khan Academy for the Best Social Impact. Other winners include Flipkart, Old Man’s Journey, Empires and Puzzles, and Simple Habit. A few of these are older apps, so we’re a bit disappointed that we didn’t see more recognition for newer work. Google Assistant stole the show at Google I/O 2018 this week. We expected as much because Google is very proud of their AI. However, the big demo that everyone is talking about is Google Duplex. This new feature lets Google Assistant place actual phone calls for you. It can schedule appointments, order pizza, and other things. Some people are very uncertain about this one. We are a little bit as well. However, the idea of having a robot place your calls for you is kind of cool in theory. Hit the link to check out our hands-on! Google I/O 2018 also held plenty of other announcements for apps and app developers. Included are huge updates coming for Google Photos, Google Maps, Gmail, ARCore, Android Auto, and most of Google’s other apps. That also includes binary support for Gboard for the physically impaired, Google Lens updates, a new ML Kit API for developers that want machine learning, Slices, App Actions, and a ton more. Sago Mini Apartment Price: $2.99 DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY Sago Mini Apartment is a new kids game. It features all of the stuff that kids game typically have. That includes cutesy characters, simple mechanics, and some educational content. The game allows kids to create simple music, practice counting, and solve some simple hand-eye puzzle. It also features seven floors, each with its own activities. Initial reviews are fairly positive. The game goes for $2.99 with no additional in-app purchases or advertisements. DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY Google Play News Price: Free DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY Google announced a news app at Google I/O 2018. It turns out that it's replacing Google Play Newsstand. The new app shows you the news. However, Google puts a renewed focus on increasing reader perspectives with the use of AI. That may be a good decision because usually when humans curate the news, they usually don't do a good job. The app is rolling out currently. It may take a few days for Google News to take over Newsstand's Google Play page. DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY DISTRAINT: Deluxe Edition Price: $4.49 DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY DISTRAINT: Deluxe edition is a re-release of an already great psychological thriller game. The game also includes 2D adventure elements and puzzle solving as well. This edition has all of the features of the original game but with a few extras. They include improved game color, enhanced animations, graphics, and lighting, better audio, and some improved UI elements. The original is easily among the best horror games on Android. The Deluxe Edition is as well. It runs for $4.49 with no additional in-app purchases or ads. DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY Material Gallery Price: Free DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY Material Gallery is a new app from Google. It is not a photo gallery app much to our chagrin. Instead, it's an app for developers. They can upload their design work, get feedback, and give feedback to other developers. Thus, it's probably not usable by the average, everyday person. There isn't much else to say about it. It does just that one thing and it does it fairly well. It's also free, like most Google apps. DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY RBI Baseball 18 Price: $6.99 DOWNLOAD ON GOOGLE PLAY RBI Baseball 18 is MLB's yearly refresh of their baseball game franchise. Admittedly, previous games from previous years had a lot of issues. Early reviews of this one indicate that this one is an improvement. The game includes updated MLB rosters, all of the teams, and even all of the ballparks along with a couple of game modes. The mechanics are fairly simple. That's great if you like arcade style baseball. It's not so great if you're coming from a full console MLB game. In any case, it's relatively inexpensive and it's definitely the best one is the series so far. We also appreciate that it has only a single cost unlike most official sports games like FIFA or the NBA. HC TIME:

Pyro and Scout are the slowest of slowburn! Pyro didn't understand that they were in love, and Scout refused to believe he was in love!

How did they get together?

WHO KNOWS! They slowly got comfortable and became besties! There was no "im in love with you" or "wanna date?" At some point they got close enough to be called lovers, but they don't know/denie!

When did they realize?

Natural disaster! Flooding in the base and pyro didn't like it one bit. They and Scout were sitting in a tree when Pyro realized they were in love for MONTHS!

They kissed Scout with their snout on his cheek and then Scout was like "fuck it" and they were Scout and pyro, sitting in a tree k i s s i n g!!!!!!!!

Also Spy hesitantly aproves cuz he is scared of their wierd aura.

Pyro hardly understanding their own feelings and Scout not wanting to admit that he liked PYRO, of all mercs. And yet nature finds a way

HC:

Scout struggles with remembering faces, so when Pyro takes their mask off, they let Scout draw them, just a quick sketch cuz there's no way in hell they're gonna take it off again.

But then Scout shows them the sketch

They hadn't known just how much beauty Scout could fined in their burnt face.

A few weeks later, Pyro corners Scout and despite looking menacing af, they akwardly ask Scout if he can draw them again.

Scout is happy he can get another peek at their face. When he's done drawing, it looks like a whole nother face.

Pyro is confused untill Scout bashfully explains that he focused on different parts of their face than the last time.

Despite the difrence being night abd day, Scout drew them beautifully.

This goes on for a while, every few weeks Pyro will ask Scout to draw them, to see what Scout sees.

Sometime during this, Pyro realized they were down bad for Scout. How they liked to show their face to him! But what if Scout doesn't like them back? Sure he draws them beautifully, but that could just be because of his skill, right?

One day, Pyro is out to find Scout for another drawing when they enter his room. They're shocked to see Scout on the floor, dozens of drawings surrounding him with faces that look similar. When they silently aproach the unaware runner, they notice that the closer the drawings were, the more consistent they get.

They realize, Scout remembers their face...

It freaks them out, and when Scout finally notices them, they're already running out of the door.

Scout looks at the nest of art he had created, knowing he had probably fucked up by constantly attempting to remember Pyro's face. He had known for a while that he had feelings for them. He wouldn't just draw anyone, especially not as much as Pyro.

He grabs his most recent drawing and heads out to find Pyro. He looks everywhere, from the ground to the roof. It's only when the next battle that he finds pyro.

He spends the entire battle trying to catch the firebug so he can apologize, only to be met with enemy fire. After the battle, he finally corners Pyro.

"look, man, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have made so many drawings, trying to remember your face when the only reason i got to see it was because i couldn't remember it." He hands Pyro the drawing and tries run off, only to be stopped by Pyro.

"No, Scout. I'm sorry i freaked out, i- i do like it... When you draw me a-and when you try to remember my face... I- i like how you draw me, i look really cute in them..." Pyro blushes as they stammer. Scout blushes too "well, you are very pretty- I MEAN CUTE- I MEAN PRETTY- I- I MEAN-" Scout, like the tsundere he is, tries to pretend he didn't just say what he had sayd.

"you think I'm cute?" Pyro asks, tilting their head as they take off their mask. Scout nods, looking anywhere but at Pyro. Pyro smiles, and when Scout accidentally gets a glance of it, he cannot take this slowburn anymore and kisses pyro, who happily returns tge kiss!

And they killed happily ever after!!!!!!!
