I keep reading and rereading all of the things in the lux/ring-a-ding x reader tag and I cannot help but think of my very own scenario/story…

This is unpolished and stream of consciousness so sorry if I do not make sense !!

I, along with a million other things, /love/ media archival and collection, right now all I’ve got is a handful of dvds and a few vhs tapes, but I’d love to go even older and collect some film cans! That is to say, imagine this:

A reader who is like me, they can’t get enough odd physical media and collect things from exercise videos to how to survive y2k guides. But one day they find something they’ve never found before: a 16mm film can in pristine condition! They get to trying to digitize it (another hobby I’d like to take up if I ever get the money to) and lo and behold it’s an old cartoon! As they watch and digitize at the same time they comment aloud about the cartoon and well… it begins to talk back! I just loved the scene where he spoke to the theatre and so a private conversation with similar vibes would be so fun… This idea can exist post episode or it can be a weird little Pocket Dimension au im unsure, but I’d love to write a few little drabbles that explore this dynamic…some day lol.

oh my gosh Mike, i'm so sorry this took so long to get back to!!! my inbox is simply drowning in Mr. Ring-A-Ding asks and has been for two solid weeks 🙈💖 my apologies!!! i hope you're doing well :3c but i am absolutely blown away by this x Reader premise, it's marvellous!! can you imagine how delighted Lux would be to know someone who not only has a vested interest in film, but also on the medium which projects light? oh, he'd be head-over-heels in moments 😍💖 i would love to read any drabbles you wrote of this concept if you feel up for it!! 👀 without giving too much away, i'm working with a similar premise in an x Reader wip right now...looks like we all want to write Readers who have a serious interest in Mr. Ring-A-Ding somehow, which is adorable 🥰💖

mihawk strikes me as the type to hide any hickies that he got but admire them in private, shanks would shamelessly show them off in public, while robin is more casual and doesn't get embarrassed if someone points it out and says point blank that she made out with you and it was very nice (sanji is crying).

Also that ending is sENDING ME DJFJFJFJFFK if you’re afab then Sanji would definitely be stuck struggling if those were tears of joy for knowing it happened or tears of pain that he’ll never be a part of it. Probably more of the latter. If you’re amab then those are 100% grade A, bonafide Tears of Despair 💀

Mihawk, Shanks, and Robin Hickey Headcanons

Thinking about the Mihawk, you’d have to be Smart about where you put those hickies (thighs thighs thighs-) since he’s always Tits Out and Collar POPPED. I think if he showed up with a fully buttoned shirt or turtleneck it would be more suspicious than him saying the bruises were from training 💀 (I mean maybe it was true - you could’ve been training him to let you fully take charge for once 🤷🏼‍♀️). The thought of him admiring them is what really grabs me in this. I like to think the betrayal that Oda hints at in Mihawk’s background is related to a past love (many good daydreams from this lol) so him healing enough from that to take the time to admire a mark of intimacy?? Feel satisfaction looking at a physical reminder that you belong to each other?? Find comfort in being your partner and enjoying being wanted and owned by you??? Happy brain 🫠🫠🫠

Shanks being the resident manwhore is Gospel dude and I fuckin LOVE him for that 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 here for the energy and the good times lol I imagine that he just showed them first cuz he didn’t care to hide them. Why would it matter?? It’s obvious he’s a man with a large appetite for debauchery both light and heavy and they’re all adults on the ship so there’s no problem. Then he found he enjoyed all the jokes, whether in his favor or at his expense, whenever his crew caught a peep of an exceptionally dark or large one or an excessive art project coloring his neck and chest. But once he got with you he enjoyed it even more. He was proud edging on smug whenever others saw the marks you’ve left on him. He got to have you and they didn’t. Better yet they also got to see just how much you enjoy him. Why would he ever hide that??

R O B I N 😩 I HAVE A NEED OKOK AND OML I WAS CACKLING AT THE “and it was very nice” HDHFHFJD SO HER AND SO FUNNY 💀💀💀 imagine that conversation being how the crew finds out you’re together. They just thought you were Close Friends. And I mean they’re not wrong, there’s just some extra activities. And maybe a new type of devotion to go along with the friend one. Whoopsies 🤷🏼‍♀️. Honestly maybe even extra points if it’s also the convo where you get together because the making out just kind of Happened and you’ve been agonizing over the “what does it mEAN???” and “how do I talk to her about this???” Then she’s just like “yeah we kissed and it was great :)”. Oh so this isn’t a big secret?? She’s not ashamed?? It was great 👀 over the howls of Sanji you manage to ask her to meet with you after breakfast for a convo (and more time enjoying some “very nice” activities)

Complete side note on Robin - since sensation but not wounds seem to transfer from her copies and extra limbs/etc. that would be insanely convenient to go buck wild while also being able to be completely discrete. Of course you don’t get the same advantage 😔 which I’m sure she’d exploit to have fun watching you react to them being pointed out by the loud mouthed captain like every time (“Luffy I tOLD you already - we weren’t leaving you out of sparring!”) or maybe a nosy navigator heheheh

And on an angstier note, having gone so so so long without love, I bet physical reminders of any kind help her feel like it’s real and that’s she’s not just going to wake up and find out it was all a dream. There’s also a promise in visible proofs of love, sometimes even ones as ~scandalous~ as hickies, that you want that love and you’re proud of that love. I think Robin would find a lot of solace in anything that helps her know you’re happy and proud to love her.

Really enjoying these and may do some little vignettes of them! Undecided if I wanna throw some others in there 🤔 maybe if any Grabs Me while I think more about it haha or if anyone is possibly interested 🤷🏼‍♀️

just a reminder that as this is preseason, not all of satan’s favorite children played! tonight we had swiss cheese, swiss roll, uncle haulaback girl, uncle lizard again, best friend number 1, V², and ginger snap!

we started off the game by giving up a goal to the annoying orange’s 😐

BUT lizard man tied us up almost halfway through the 1st! POP OFF, UNCLE CURTSY!

captain whore was jailed tonight for being too cute, and ya know what? i think it’s fair! make him stay there!

not long after cap’s penalty, we got a goal from holtzy! giving us a 2-1 lead!

but then ham sammich also got a penalty for tripping!

we made it almost all the way through 3rd with our lead and i was really looking forward to going home! until one of those orange fucks tied up the game 🫠

i had a few choice words for that player… lindy didn’t like my words, i don’t think

however, about 2 and a half minutes into OT… HAULA THE BALLA GOT THE GAME WINNING GOAL WITH ASSISTS FROM BESTIE NUMBER 1 AND THE GIANT TEDDY BEAR!!

which means your devils are 4-0 in the preseason!! 3 games left!

p.s. this is my formal request to never have to be around gritty again. i thought adam fantilli was my biggest fear, but i’ve been proven wrong

Hi, it’s me, Fanfic Anon #2. I saw the comment from Anon about Brigitte learning English when he got elected, and it gave me this little idea. Thank you, Anon for the inspo and I hope everyone enjoys!

“Brigitte?” He asked, confused as he walked into their private apartment. He knows they’re still unpacking everything after their recent move into the Élysée, but he’s pretty sure he’d remember if they owned an English textbook. And even if they did he’s very confused as to why his wife is now pouring over it, with what appears to be a very intensive note taking apparatus around her.

“You’re home!” She looked up with a wide, excited smile, slipping her glasses off her nose quickly, and laying them on the book, forgotten.

“Why are you studying an English textbook?”

“Because I need to learn English,” she answered, as if it was the simplest, most obvious thing in the world.

“Okay, and why do you need to learn English?” He tried again, still not seeing a point. She speaks two languages fluently, hell has taught hundreds of children those two different languages, and he knows she has a passible amount of English from their time visiting England or the States over the years, so why she thought she needed to add English to that list was a mystery to him.

“Because, everyone else speaks English. All the other leaders, their spouses, I’m sure. I can’t be the only one with a translator constantly following her. I’m already going to stick out like a sore thumb, the last thing I can afford to do is embarrass you -“

“What makes you think you would ever be an embarrassment? Or that you’d stick out like a sore thumb?” He asked concerned, rushing to squat at her side, and pull her hands into his, rubbing his thumbs against the back of her hands soothingly. “Who put those nasty thoughts inside that brilliant, beautiful head of yours?”

“I -“ she started only to hesitate, dropping her head embarrassed.

“Listen to me, Brigitte. If you want to learn English because you want to learn English, I’m happy to support you. I’ll go buy the best books, we can practice conversations together, I’ll start writing poetry to you in English -“

“Don’t you dare. I love how you write in French.”

“Okay, well maybe not that then,” he smiled appeasingly at her interjection before he continued. “But, if you want to learn English because you think I want you to learn English, or Teresa May, or Angela Merkel, or any other world leader wants you to learn English, then I’m going to pick up that book and throw it in the fireplace right now and burn it.

“You, Brigitte, are the most amazing human being I have ever met, in any job, in any country, in any language. In French, in Latin, or in English, there will not be a single person in any country who will not love you.”

“You’re kind, but you’re biased,” she demurred.

“No, I’m telling the full and honest truth! The fact that I’m your husband is completely irrelevant to this conversation.”

“Irrelevant, huh?” She challenged, raising her eyebrow.

“To my completely unbiased determination that you are the most spectacular woman in the world? Absolutely. I’ve thought that for about 25 years now, chérie. Long before were a couple.

“But, right now, all I really want to do, is have dinner with my remarkable wife. If that’s okay with her?” He asked, laughing as he felt her throw herself into his arms when she stood.
