It's a bit of a family in joke.

We have Welsh heritage on both sides (Jones and Bowen) and my folks do Welsh dancing as a hobby. We've all done a bit of blacksmithing, and I do/have done martial arts including a little Iai-do and sport fencing.

So the Welsh pronunciation would be like the blithe in say Blithe Spirit, and it means 'wolf'. But I usually expect people to pronounce it as if it was all English, i.e. "steel blade".😇

It was my second attempt to pick an internet handle and it has lasted almost a quarter of a century now with zero trouble getting it on any service. 😁
