HIGHTOWER, Oldtown, the Reach

The Hightower or High Tower is the seat of House Hightower one of the most powerful families of the Reach. The castle and lighthouse is located in the port of Oldtown atop Battle Isles where the Honeywine widens into Whispering Sound.

Now that the editing in CAW is finally complete, I can place the buildings.

古い建物が多く残る田舎町です。

It is a rural town with many old buildings remaining.

郵便ポストもありましたが、1960年代後半の日本なので今回は使用しませんでした。

There was also a post box, but since this was Japan in the late 1960s, we didn't use it this time.

追加した土地です。日本によくある河川敷のグラウンドです。

This is the newly added land. It is a riverbed ground, which is common in Japan.

「日暮谷町」は観光を主な産業としています。

Tourism is the main industry in Higuredani Town.

今回、整地したので新しく建てました。海水浴場です。

This time, the land was leveled and the topography changed, so a new bathing beach was built.

建物が古いので、未舗装の道路に変更して1940年代でもいいかもしれません。

The building is old, so maybe we could change it to an unpaved road and make it 1940s.

空の町をシェアしたいのでFrankensonnetさんに連絡したのですが、返事がないです。(Tumblrを止めたのかもしれません。)

I contacted Frankensonnet to share the empty town, but I haven't heard back. (Maybe she quit Tumblr.)

You follow the religion that you were brought into, a religion that watched idly as you were a child brought into prostitution. Somehow you end up in a lord’s dungeon in a city far away, and all you have are the satin robes you wear, so your captors call you satin. you keep believing in your gods, up until you’re at battle where you must fight or the world will end and maybe it’ll end for you anyways.

but then somehow, someway you make it through, alive, and see something ancient in your lord commander’s eyes. He’s fabled and infamous, he has an ancient creature at his side you didn’t know still existed and a raven calls his name like prophecy- and he’s also kind, and sees something in you that you weren’t sure you had.

This week is absolutely chaotic, but I really wanted to draw a farewell plein air in Tbilisi.

It was raining all day, so I had less than an hour to draw this ^^'

(Also, my work was sabotaged by a stray cat in the cutest way possible 😅)

The city is so beautiful, sometimes it feels unreal 😍

It's like a fairytale town, with its towers and churches, colorful roofs, and balconies.

I will miss these streets and the time we spent here 💔

Can't stop thinking about Satin swearing his Night's Watch oaths at a Godswood beyond the Wall bc wdym that this guy is from Oldtown, the religious capital of the Faith of the Seven (the vatican city of westeros), and he chose to swear the rest of his life to the Old Gods instead of in a Sept. (totally not thinking about how the implication is that jon snow's devotion to the old gods has inspired even the newest recruits)

Satin looked over his shoulder at the godswood around them, looking between the tall trees and through the low swirling mists. There was no one here but them. No one here but them and the Old Gods, of course. Satin rested his hand atop Jon’s where it lay on his knee and leaned to press them shoulder to shoulder. He heard a breath draw in through Jon’s nose as Satin felt Jon lean some of his weight against him in return. In the quiet, Satin watched their reflection in the black pool. Their image in the pristine glass-like water showed them pressed together, hands entwined, with Satin wrapped in Jon’s cloak. The pool showed the truth of them. It made him smile.
