I like MarkHelly age gap stuff but it only really works when I imagine Helena being in her 20s

Yeah see I really couldn't give a damn about pretending they are different ages than they are. Like idk I like the characters as Dan Erickson has created them, sue me. Helena is so thirty to me and I just DONT see oMark even being into a woman in her 20s.

Like, sorry, no. It just feels really ooc. I don't think he'd fuck helena if she were his student. I think he was a good professor and a faithful husband, lock me tf up.

and i cant emphasize enough how much this is not coming from me wanting a puritanical or ethical read on these characters. i want neither, this is just not an angle that makes any sense to me, if im being honest.

I am, admittedly, not a mark/helena enjoyer in the slightest. Like I do think that something will happen between them in the show but i do not care about it. I'm a gemmahelena zealot to my very core and nothing can change that!

The only markhelly age gap that means anything to me is if Helly is actually involved lowk with imark highk with omark, obvs. idk i actually dont love to horny post so i'll leave it at that.

oMark ending up on the Severed floor when Helly integrates enough to have her memory of The ORTBO come back, with a Mark there who is currently angry that he has fallen in love with her, and that he can't leave to see his wife, but most importantly that he fell hard and fast for Helena Eagan.

Them standing close together while doing the "fake relationship" thing, and the backs of their hands touch. She misses him touching her, so her immediate reaction is to caress the back of his hand with the back of her hand, to which his immediate reaction is the same.

Mark Scout/Helly R. Rated E [ao3] Helly keeps waking up outside of the severed floor without explanation. She finds Mark's outie to try to figure out what's going on and ends up in a convoluted situation with him, her Mark, and her outie. For markhelly week

As she ascended, everything went dark.

Then, a light different than the elevator, her back against a wall, and—

A mouth on hers.

“Mark?!” she asked, breaking away from him. “What the fuck?!”

Mark, not her Mark, moved his head away from her and looked at her skeptically. He kept his hand tangled in her hair, holding her neck. “Uh, did you just turn into Helly?”

She smacked his chest, hard. “What the fuck do you think?! Why the hell are you kissing Helena Eagan?!”

Ever since Jame Eagan had the diagnostics department create an adhesive patch with a frequency emitter that allowed Helly R to exist wherever she wanted, every outie who saw her was impacted by what Jame described as Kier in her.

"Oh, I'm not Helena, I'm Helly..." She said it every time there was confusion. Mark remembered what Mark S. had said to him about Helly. A chill ran down his spine.

"Helena doesn't live here anymore, amirite??" Mark Scout was trying to flirt using the typical exorcism trope, but it was escaping Helly.

"I'm sorry, wait, are you Mark's outie?" Helly became a little weak in the knees as they awkwardly chuckled like goofballs. Pretending not to be aroused, she tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. "That was weird of me, sorry..."

"No, it's great actually. I love sarcasm. I'm sure it's no weirder than being an innie among outies... Maybe call me Mr. Scout, if that helps you?"

"I'm an innie girrrl in an outie worrrrrld..." Helly was nervously singing something she had heard while walking in an outie shopping plaza, but put her own spin on the lyrics.

"That's clever." Mark Scout smiled, looking at Helly's figure.

"Pretty sure it's not." Helly replied wryly.

"Would you like to have dinner with me tonight? I swear it will be nothing Chinese or egg-based."

"Am I supposed to know what you mean by that?" She wondered how he would have knowledge about the egg bar social and didn't realize he was referring to Helena's breakfast woes and Zufu blunder.

"Ummmm... No, I guess not." Mark Scout was excited for this second chance of sorts. With everyone judging from the court of public opinion declaring that outie on innie relationships were taboo for many reasons, he wanted to find out for himself what ethical dilemmas would be whipping around the corner very soon.

"Yeah, I'll have dinner with you, Mr. Scout..."

Alternatively, only Mark switches, and that's how oMark meets Helly. There's chemistry, a lot of it, so much so he doesn't realize he's switched at first. But when he does realize, it makes Helly realize it, but they stay stay pressed into each other for few seconds of post make out panting, and post switch confusion. He glances down he realizing he's at maybe 75% mast, and backs away with an embarrassed "Sorry." Meanwhile Helly's dealing with her lover basically dying in her arms.
