SPREAD THE WORD! ZINE, PLEASE! IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE OUR UPCOMING THIRD VOLUME!

The third volume you've all been waiting for is here! Following the success of our previous two volumes, the Zine, Please! team is proud to announce we'll be bringing you another volume full of Check, Please! goodness made by the fans for the fans!

As with our previous iterations, this will be a multi-month affair, with sign-ups happening in October 2024, check-ups happening throughout the process, and the zine being published in free PDF format in June 2025.

This volume's theme is.... #TripleTrouble!

'Swawesome things come in threes! For this volume, we want you all to explore the shenanigans, celebrate the triumphs, and dive into the inner workings and dynamics of all your favorite Check, Please! trios!

There's endless trios to choose from, some more familiar than others. I mean, who can forget the most iconic canon trios? We're talkin' Ransom, Holster, Lardo! We're thinkin' Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot! We're screeeamin' Chowder, Dex, Nursey!

If you're willing to go outside the box, think about trios you'd love to see together who the fandom hasn't seen! Who among us is brave enough to put the Jack's Type Trio of Bitty, Camilla, and Kent in a room together? Hell, we could even take a dive into Deep Fandom Lore that OG fans may remember with the No Chill Trio of Lardo, Nursey, Kent.

Be it everyone's faves with polyfrogs, tadpoles content, or unlikely trios we'd all kick and squeal about, it's all welcome for this volume!

Gather your fave Check, Please! trios, go forth, and wreck havoc with #TripleTrouble!

ZINE, PLEASE! VOL. 3: #TRIPLETROUBLE ABOUT TO DROP!

With all submissions received and already lain out in a first draft, we are crossing that last blue line!

Now it's just tightening those formatting nuts and bolts to ensure that all that fic and art will be displayed in a way that realizes their fullest potential.

So be prepared for a release within this month of July!

In the meantime, we encourage our contributors to give little snippets and previews of their submissions.

Important Info:

The #TripleTrouble theme is all about exploring dynamics, shenanigans, and any moments you can think of that feature your favorite Check, Please! trios. These can be canon trios (think WTF, The Frogs, etc), your fave non-canon trios (think PBJ, Scrappy/Kent/Jeff, etc), and any other iconic trios of OMGCP characters that you think deserve a spotlight!

As with our previous volumes, #TripleTrouble will be available as a free digital PDF upon publication

Fics must be no longer than 3.5k words, and art of all mediums are welcome! (even non-digital works so long as they can be translated to the digital PDF zine, such as through scanning or a high-res photo)

We’re on Discord! It’s not mandatory to join, but it is a wonderful tool for connecting with other contributors and opens another form of contact with the admins!

Helloooo Internet Land!

First off, we wish to reiterate thank you so much for your patience as this second annual project went from a concept, to an official prompt, and ultimately developed into the beautiful zine that you'll see before you. Of course it wasn't without hiccups, but we got through it.

For the contributors, it goes without saying that this wouldn't have become a reality without your skill and vision creating great pieces of art and prose. And a hearty appreciation to the admins, who put this all together.

And ultimately, to the readers, your enthusiasm keeps the momentum for this project going.

#SwawesomeGreetings is now under construction! We're hard at work putting together this special holiday zine for all of y'all, so get ready as we drop our second volume on February 9th!

Hello! We absolutely will be! At this time, we do not have set dates, but the admin team is currently working to prepare for our next volume, and we are very excited. Hey y'all. So I got some good news, bad news, and bittersweet news.

Good news is that we've been trucking along in crafting this zine, it's nearing completion, all the contributions are looking great.

Bad news is half our staff are out due to severe circumstances completely out of our control. Fortunately, those of us out of commission are otherwise alright. But because of this, we've decided to delay to ensure both our and your expectations for the quality of the zine are met.

Bittersweet news is that this delay is projected to be no longer than a couple days.

Henceforth, our new release date is now Monday, February 12 (in the American timezones), 2024.

In the meantime, we highly encourage our contributors to release little snippets and cropped art as a preview.

We appreciate your patience are looking forward to releasing a 'swawesome zine that everyone can be proud of.

Hello, everyone! The workings for #TripleTrouble are underway! We just sent out the Welcome & Orientation message to our contributors. Here's a quick sum-up of important info about that!

For Current Contributors

Contributors who signed up for this volume should have received a Welcome and Orientation message via the preferred method of contact your provided us with at sign up. (check your discord DMs, tumblr DMs, and email if you don't remember!)

If for some reason it seemed we might not have been able to reach you through that method, we went ahead and emailed the email you provided as well just in case. This message includes all you need to know to get started! OMG Zine, Please! #2: #SwawesomeGreetings

Get ready for OMG ZINE, PLEASE! #2: #SwawesomeGreetings!

When we started omgzineplease, we were going into unknown territory. Thankfully, y'all have been gracious with our little foal steps, and as a result, the zine had been a resounding success.

In the wake of that success, we are pleased to announce the prompt for the next volume: #SwawesomeGreetings!

Yes, a zine about the holidays for the holidays during the holidays. A time and place for fic and fanart of your favorite characters partaking in holiday spirit: be it setting up decorations, upholding sacred traditions, subverting traditions, opening presents, fighting off the mob during Black Friday, listening to Christmas music (or subjecting others to the music), counting down to the new year, and so on.

The key thing is that it has to occur during the holiday season (roughly November to the start of February; Halloween and Valentines are explicitly out) and be tied to holiday themes, not just generic Winter themes.

And don't feel like you're restricted to Christmas, Thanksgiving, and Gregorian New Year's. After all, many different holidays like Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Lunar New Year happen during that period as well!!

Like the past iteration, this will be a multi-month affair, with sign-ups happening in August, check-ups happening throughout the process, and the zine being published in PDF format February 2024.

Sign-ups open August 14, 2023 and more specific guidelines will be released then as well.

Looking forward for y'all to take part. This will be a 'swawsome time.
