My 2024 Art Summary!! Oughh apart from Art Fight I feel like I didn't have much time or energy for art this year...;-; But I still managed to draw at least one thing each month by practicing efficient methods! I won't give up!! 💪 Thank you to everyone who's still sticking with me!

The last third of the year actually was dedicated to another zine piece (I drew onceler for it!), but unfortunately I can't show it yet. ;P So I'll see you guys next year~!

part 1 of netflix's inside job takes place in late 2021, with episode 1, unpresidented, sometime around november 2021. in said episode, reagan plugs her phone into alpha beta, uploading all current knowledge of the internet, including social media sites like facebook, twitter, tumblr, etc. into his hard drive.

with this information we can conclude that he knows what tumblr sexymen are, and by extension, the onceler, sans undertale, and of course, vriska homestuck.

if we remember the key detail that ALL information on the internet before and during november 2021 were uploaded into his hard drive, we can make the claim that alpha beta knows what undertale/deltarune are, and that key detail starts a domino line of utdr leads to toby fox leads to andrew hussie leads to the reasonable conclusion that he has canonically read homestuck.

I grew up with the 2012 Onceler WITHOUT knowing about how much of a king the 72' version was. He's more DILFy,the 2012 one is a young guy with Mommy issues and he needs therapy

There's a lot of adaptations, and in each of them there's something for everyone. You literally can find a canon Onceler to your liking, the book one, 1972, 2012, the ones from the musical (2015-2021) - there's a lot of them and they're all kinda fucked up cool in their own ways :3

I remember reading the OG book back in my english classes, but 2012 movie was something that got me into this fandom

Ooc: another announcement/boundaries

I come back here after noticing a weird phenomenon in the fandom. Yes I did leave, even blocking tags and unfollowing a lot of people, and this is coming especially from some friends who realised it as well, since I totally cut everything with the fandom and I don't really know what's going on lately.

What "phenomenom" I'm talking about? The blantantly copying, of course.

What I mean by that is that some of us realised that some people in the fandom, instead of coming up with original ideas, decide to shamelessly copy our concepts and make it their own. And it's not only with others who deoncelerized, no, sometimes it's even with ocs who are still -lers.

Now don't get me wrong, I think gatekeeping especially in the art community is disgusting, I cannot stand people who are like "you're not allowed to use the same poses or colors as I do." Because it's absolutely stupid, you cannot copyright things such as colors or poses.

But when it's about characters... It's a little more delicate. Especially in such a small fandom, where it's impossible that it is a "coincidence" if your character happens to have the same gimmick or color palette as another.

Maybe for some of you, it's alright if someone gets inspired by your oc to make their own, and it's your choice. But listen: if you really want to use the same gimmick as another oc, maybe ask first? Instead of blantantly taking the concept and claiming it your own, making people believe it's your original idea when it's pretty obvious you just ctrl c ctrl v someone else's oc. And what's the most hurtful is to see that these "bootlegs" are often more popular that the originals.

So I'm coming here to put a quick boundary:

Please, even if I left the fandom, do not shamelessly copy Ranler's concept. If you really want some kind of radioactive oc, please be original. Come up with your own concept and idea, and do not, under any circumstances, copy anything I did, I'm just not ok with that. I've been here since early 2021, been working on my oc for so long, and I would be really upset if someone copy paste his whole concept and design and claim it at their own.

Along these lines, I am also not ok if you "impersonate" Ranler. What I mean by that is, I'm not ok if you roleplay as him, or create a blog acting as him (example: I left the fandom but you still want a Ranler onceler blog, so you make one yourself). It makes me really uncomfortable. I don't really think anyone would be THAT attached to him, since I got lot of hate when I first made him, but tbh I'm just writing all that as a "I warned you" if I see anyone copy my stuff and use it as their own. Don't cry if I DM you saying you copied me. Like I said, this fandom is so tiny you CAN'T pretend it's a coincidence, it's simply impossible, and it makes me really uncomfortable to see some of my friends' concepts are being shamelessly ripped off and they somehow get more popular [isnt it funny how the 2021/2022 wave felt excluded and our concepts disliked but now so many people copy them? Crazy]

Anyway, that was just me writing down my boundaries. If you read this, I really hope you understand. And if you're reading this and copied someone's oc, I really hope you reconsider what you are doing, and maybe ask the original owner if they are ok with it, and do not be upset if they tell you to stop, you should respect people's boundaries, and you'll always be at fault for shamelessly copying an idea someone spent months or more writing.

Its still crazy to me to think back of exactly how long I’ve been drawing Ghost stuff in particular. Since late 2021… four whole years. I used to OWN my own homestuck rp servers that hosted 60+ people most days. I used to host homestuck cosplay events. I have been told by homestuck fans that having a breastmilk kink is pedophilia. I have been told liking homestuck trolls sexually is amoral. Ive argued every intricacy of MCU lore you can possibly think of. I was there for Loki season 1 when Twitter was still called twitter. i used to write onceler fanfic on tumblr dot com in 2012.

Reddit → Subreddits like r/tumblr and r/196 feel like a parallel Tumblr universe where the memes never stopped.

Discord → Tumblr-style fandom discussions just moved to private servers.

Twitter/X → The discourse lives on, just with more rage and less pastel.

Nugent (2020) once said, “TikTok is just peak Tumblr,” and honestly? He was right.

💀 3. Can You Kill a Platform’s Culture?

Short answer: No. Long answer: Tumblr might not be the center of internet culture anymore, but it is the ghost in the machine. Just like MySpace before it, Tumblr’s influence is too deep to erase. The way we talk, the memes we share, even the way platforms prioritize niche content—it all traces back to Tumblr.

Remember when Tumblr’s messy moderation led to a weird anti-censorship movement? Pilipets & Paasonen (2022) argue that we’re seeing echoes of that today, especially on platforms like Twitter/X. The digital cycle repeats itself.

🎭 4. The Return of Tumblr Core Aesthetic?

People who never used Tumblr are now nostalgic for its “golden era” (???)

Posts like “I was never on Tumblr but I miss it” are going viral

it was mostly bc I wanted to make a separate blog for something but I already have way too many blogs and all my emails were already being used and I was thinking like. I don't really do anything with dreampop anymore + he never really got much interaction so I just reused the email from his blog lol

I guess it's also I've not really been that involved with the askblog fandom since like june and all my ideas for dreampop were kind of trapped by the thought of like "this needs to be somewhat onceler related" even though technically my actual onceler obsession ended in 2021 lol. but yeah now he's free from his onceler origins I have so much more ideas for him, which I guess meant I probably wasn't gonna need to use his blog anymore rip

but dw I haven't fully deleted him, all his posts are still saved here: @dreampopler (both from his main and camp weehawken blogs) bc after basing my whole personality on wishing swag and bitter's tflu blogs still existed, I would be such a hypocrite for deleting my own askblog without saving it skdhsjd

Helloooo! 2023 brought a new generation to the Onceler fandom, including me. I was too young to be in the fandom back in 2021 :,) I've been in the fandom for over 3 months now, and something that always interested me was the old askblogs. I always wanted to read them, but I only ever got my hands on one :( it's called LQ-ler, I believe. All other ones are either archived, either deleted, Im guessing? Very sad.
