Hoo-wee, Opal OC!

A guardian angel of...sorts. Can't be seen by anyone other than their designated child or others of their kind. Can't do certain things while in the sight of someone else. Specific acts, if well disguised, can cause certain effects on individuals (ex cramps from being grabbed but not aware of being grabbed).

We're in the Garden...

Hydrangea Opal's components, Showy Pearl and Lacecap Amethyst, first met in the Court Garden of Flower-Cut Diamond. Lacecap was born a 'skinny' gem, and was 'pruned' into the Garden for observation, as Flower-Cut Diamond experiments on defective gems, trying to turn them into 'perfect' gems.

Showy Pearl was one of Flower-Cut Diamond's two pearls, Showy Pearl and Hydrangea Pearl, both modeled Flower-Cut Diamond's favorite flower. The two pearls were very close, until one day while attending their Diamond in the Garden, Lacecap and Showy caught each others' eyes. Showy commented to Hydrangea that perhaps not all defective gems are so bad, and even look better that way. Hydrangea rebuffed her, saying she couldn't relate and to not speak a sentiment so loudly, as their Diamond would disapprove. Showy mumbled that "Maybe our Diamond is wrong," to which Hydrangea snapped, "Well, maybe you're defective." Showy, feeling betrayed and like the comment was unjustified, as both pearls lived in fear of being placed in the Garden themselves, pounced on Hydrangea and began to fight her.

So naturally, when Flower-Cut Diamond saw, both Showy and Hydrangea were placed in the Garden. Hydrangea was allowed to keep some status, tending the flowers of the Garden, but Showy was placed among the defective gems, slated to be experimented on.

Because of this, Showy harbored ill feelings toward Lacecap, avoiding her despite Lacecap's attempts to court her. When the two finally had a chance to reconcile, Lacecap was horrified to hear that Showy ended up there because of her, and promised to make it up to her. The two kept each other company in the Garden, undergoing some basic experimenting but mostly being allowed to roam the Garden. Lacecap liked Showy’s leader-like attitude despite being a pearl, and Showy liked Lacecap’s softness despite her bad-girl persona.

After the two had gotten closer, however, Lacecap revealed that she has discovered that the engineers under Flower-Cut Diamond have designed a device called the True Rejuvenator, for which they plan to use Lacecap as the test subject. Showy, horrified that not only will Lacecap forget her, but she may not even be the same gem she once grew to love, fused with Lacecap in a moment of high emotion. This alerted all the guards to their deviance, and before they could catch the two, Hydrangea Opal used their bow to poof the guards, and break out of the Garden. The two ended up fleeing via the warp pad, and now hop from world to world, trying to find somewhere they can be safe. Hydrangea Opal operates with poise, but has a mischievous side that can come out from time to time.
